Exactly what this useless nairalanders did to me ooo.... I came to share my wilderness story and said perhaps someone might be moved to assist after hearing my story.

Come and see abuse, insults and backlashes from every angle as if I committed a crime. ( Who knows whether you too were among those who bashed me, just saying). In fact, I was demoralized. They were shouting scam scam scam everywhere. Upon all, shishi, no body helped me with and the situation got worse and I had to scatter the money I had save to get an apartment to get a hostel otherwise I for no see where to sleep last night.

My take is, those shouting scam are the real scammers and are jealous that someone else might get the help they didn't get so they try to spoil ones chances of getting help.

If you don't have, simply look away and let those who have and are willing, help. Let God be the judge, for no scammer shall go unpublished.

As for those always quick to shout scam, their own turn is coming unless the person they called a scam is actually a scammer that's when they will go Scot free.

We will move in tomorrow to complete the fencing of this land. The gaps at the front of the fence where the fence joins the gate pillars closed as from tomorrow.

We have also got the contract to build a block of 6 flats of 2 bedrooms at this very land. I think it will be better to open a fresh thread for the construction of the new building, as this thread was for the construction of a fence and gates.

How do you think any meaningful result will come out from a system where the House of Assembly people pay themselves equivalence in Dollars while the non elected Nigerian citizens are paid in naira equivalent?

Before you speak again, compare how much the US government is funding their primary school and high school with how much Nigerian government is using to fund their public school! How much does American Children pay for their public schools?

People who don't know how a proper relationship between Research ,R and D and Governance is supposed to be should not be talking on this matter.

You are right because in these saner climes we all praise and run to, education is expensive and that's why there isn't strike. But then, because ASUU doesn't generate that much doesn't preclude them from a commensurate salary. Samer climes have student loans to cushion expensive tuition fees and some guaranteed level of repayment system and employment

Do you honestly think that salary is fair regardless? Don't also think in the generated revenue alone, remember ASUU produces these people you are referring to and from the foregoing, best brains in the lecturing line are dwindling by the day and being hijacked by foreigners.

What ASUU produces may not be monetary but more valuable than you opine.

it's not fair but because they don't generate enough, they are stuck there. In a good institution and country, their professors don't depend on salaries. They lead researches and from there, they make insane amount from there.

But then, teaching has been about salaries. If you want to be rich, do something else

Students farm during rainy season and sell at a later time to fund their school fees. Students hawk cookies, fries...work as security personnel in hotels, banks etc just to afford fees. If it becomes 500k how do they survive that?

if you can't afford education,do something else. There are lots of skills you can acquire and achieve success in life. Majority of our graduates are not employable and that makes their certificate almost useless

Oxford University, Cambridge all have endowment fund running into billions and trillions of dollars. They go as far as investing in the stock market. Nigeria has one of the cheapest University education anywhere in the world.

If you want quality, pay for it or strike for it. Either way, Yusuf the son of Buhari will fly abroad get quality education and the elites will remain elites

How can lecturers be paid #120,000 even a PHD holder gets paid around #150k+. The highest pay is 416k paid to professors that occupies about 4-5% of the population of staff. What about the paltry pay of others?! after over 20 years of tertiary education sometimes

Ordinary BSC in CBN, FIRS, NDA, NNPC, and other government parastatals earn extremely fat

NNPC Team Manager earns an average of about ₦ 1.19m monthly, Well Operations Superintendent earn up to ₦ 1.4m monthly and Human Resources Analysts earn around ₦665K.

The CBN staff salary structure is quite high but these salaries are not easily disclosed. The salaries below was inputed by some CBN staffs.

Deputy Governor CBN earns around ₦3.34m monthly, Branch Controller earns ₦900k and Managers earn around ₦700k.

The Entry level salary of FIRS employees ranges from ₦80,000 to ₦100,000 monthly. However, their ogas earn mammoth salaries

A level 8 staff of the PENCOM, at the end of his or her induction/recruitment training, get allowances in excess of over 2 million naira.

On monthly bases, level 8 Staff of the Commission earn around N180,000.

Unconfirmed reports of BOI suggest that some staff of the bank take home around N500,000 per month.

Not to mention DPR, Nimasa, NPA etc

you can abuse ASUU all you want but the fact is laid bare.

Most of these figures are far beyond what lecturers are paid.
Ask yourselves, students say they don't want to be lecturers because of perceived poor pay then with this trend, who will teach our children in the future when even the brightest brains are jetting out.

This should be a collective fight but ASUU must ensure no lecturer short-changes any student on resumption.

We didn't even talk about degree-less politicians fat salaries. Please don't quote me of you don't understand the plight of teachers in Nigeria. It's a collective fault. Primary and secondary school teachers are even worse in payment but the society doesn't care.

The institutions you mentioned make too much money for the government.

You don't expect to pay someone whose office generate billions daily ₦50,000 and complain when he steals. It's never done.

Compare ASUU with Nigeria police. Having said that, it is high time Nigeria education is deregulated to some extent. It's better to pay ₦500,000 per section and finish a course meant for five years in five years and not a day older. If you pay any less, you will balance off the payment by many years of strike and the worst thing to loose in life is time cause it's irreversible.

If you decide not to pay that much, you will sign a contract that will force you to work in public institution in Nigeria for a certain number of years before you japa. We can't pay for your school fees through subsidised education and the moment you finish, you run away.

I know many people will not be comfortable with my comment but "he who comes to equity must come with clean hands". If we citizens of Nigeria wants to hold the leaders accountable,we too should be accountable.

Let me see see how someone will pay 500,000 as school fees and ASUU will go on strike without the minister of education and labour not getting sacked the next day. Those ones are currently vying for president. Or a student will stay in that hostel in uniben and unn. We may not notice but these things destroy us psychologically and we raise students who don't attain perfection but microbiologists who work in banks

These politicians and political parties make "rule of law" as cardinal point of their campaign but they can't even stick to it

Let's see if Buhari has the balls of a president cause this flagrant disregard for our laws is becoming embarrassing

Please sir I'm currently facing a very difficult situation right now
We haven't had gen in a long time so just recently, we got one new elepaq 4.5kva. although according to engineer he said its truly 2.8kva not 4.5kva as claimed
After it was coupled, we tested it for few minutes and it worked, the next time we turned it on same day, it brought light and immediately the power went off, the next day we called the installer and he confirmed the AVR got spoilt, we changed the AVR and turned it on, same thing happened... we've changed AVR 3 times consecutively and it is a new gen so our engineer decided the gen must be having factory fault problem cos once it's turned on and we change over, the transformer becomes hot immediately and the voltage rises towards 300 instead of 220 according to the engineer even without anything else being on apart from bulb but this is a generator that was tasted at the sellers shop and it worked perfectly for several hours
So later the seller changed the engine and gave us new one but to my greatest surprise, the issue still persist
So now it's obvious the problem is from our house not the generator, maybe from connection or something that we haven't figured out yet but same connection has been in use in the past without facing issues
Please what exactly do you think is the problem here and how can we resolve that cos right now it's as if we bought new gen but can't use it

first of all, for you to buy a generator with acclaimed 4.5kva but with actual 2.5kva tells you that it's a fake something. Anything else can be wrong with the generator.

To confirm if it's from your house, borrow another generator and use it to power your house
