paid someone to deliver something to Lagos on January. By February when the job was ready,he told me I will double the agreed price. When I said no, he said I should find alternative with the hope I can't find one. I already did the delivery and have been calling him since then to refund me the 70k I paid him since.

End of the story is that he gave me 50k two weeks ago and then 15k today and told me to forget about the balance of 5k. I had high respect for the man but I have seen he can never be trusted with money

it happened that the site in question was a hill and it was levelled. So most of the sand I packed out were sandfill from the hill. So the engineer asked that I keep digging until I get the natural soil after which I started digging proper foundation

Here's one thing that happened to a site I worked at. So after doing the foundation of a tank stand, the engineer came around and inspected. He called me back and told me that the foundation wasn't deep enough. I have already done about 2m deep already the explained to me how the soil I'm standing on was. His recommendation was simple,do a another foundation and this time,we went almost 7m deep into the ground. It came at a very significant financial cost to the engineer and me but we did it cause safety and not "smart" was very important to us both.
