I think washing off paints from tiles will be easier than washing the paint job to remove cement. A good painter can leave very minimal paint stain in every room they work on.

I am not an expert in welding but the little I know, they have different power settings for different materials and thickness. But in Nigeria I noticed they use one size fits all welding machine. Could that be why? From what I learned so far, those gaps are frowned at by professional welders as they affect the integrity of the weld as you rightly pointed out.

Most people won't understand. For Nigerians, the more complicated and over designed a project is, the better. I don't know if it is me, I like my things to be of minimal design.

My new gate is just a thick black plain metal sheet. It is going to be sliding. You only have the pipe welding only at the four sides of the plate.

I even like the back of that Spyder's gate more than the front with those designs.

no it's not a sign of bad welding skills. You don't weld 2mm pan nonstop. There must be 2-3" gap between each weld. Or else you will weaken the pan. You're not welding suspension bridge
