The tax in Lagos are generated by Nigerians and others not only Yorubas
Don't miss the point because of bias. Is Lagos (Nigerians resident in Lagos) getting fair allocation of Federal projects when compared to taxes paid and some states in the North like Katsina and Kano? Why are they now making it a regional attack issue. Will this guy making the allegations be happy if his state is generating huge taxes like Lagos and yet getting meager Federal support in allocation of Federal favour/projects?
I am not holding forth for Fowler, he should be capable of self defence.
All I know is that this regional attack will only lead to acrimony that will not do the country any good.
PoliticsRe: Arewa Youths Seek Inclusion Of Referendum In Constitutional Amendment by middlebelter(m): 9:10pm On Dec 21, 2019
The Arewa youth score just 50% with this report. The first part is excellent. Referendum for restructuring is a great idea and should be supported by all Nigerian.
The second part attacking Government of Lagos State is most unreasonable. They should channel that energy towards making their various states Government to provide enabling environment for job creation and gainful employment for their youths that have been migrating to Lagos in quest of green pastures only to turn to social nuisance.
We must tell ourselves the home truth. Imagine what is going on in some states in the North like Kogi state where the few employed are not being paid as and when due. These youths flood Lagos with Motor Bikes causing avoidable accidents to commuters. Unfortunately, Lagos state Government instead of insisting on strict licensing and monitoring to prevent continuous influx of Northern Youths they embarked on arrest.
Look, the Northern Youth will do better by developing matrix for measuring good governance and insisting all their governments are accountable.

My brother, it is too slow and he refuse to obey court orders, refused to sign electoral act into law to make the process more effective and efficient? It is too slow and he didn't show interest when election was flagrantly rigged in Kogi and Bayelsa States with the help of security agencies?

It is so easy to know that this people in Government does not love democracy nor wish we continue to enjoy our democratic process. Only God can deliver us when the president and his spoke man are saying military regime is better than civilian regime. Can we really trust them not to truncate the democratic process after the expiration of this administration? How do we interpret a comment by civilian president saying the democratic process is too slow. I smell rat. If you like call it hate speech.

My opinion is based on my understanding of the current Senate and not on the constitutional provisions as it pertains to the red Chamber.

I think I agree with people proposing Fidelity Bank. I was going to propose Ecobank where I have an account but I suddenly realised that when I went to cash a cheque at Fidelity the refused to pay anyone but we're collecting cash deposit I mean Fidelity Bank in Broad Street Lagos Island. When I asked what the matter is they said Thier system is down. I then asked what happened to back up system for a bank, no response. That has never happened in Ecobank

Because they seldom give permits and land to people to build church. The few that you see around has permit. Unlike ease to build mosque in the north. So people can take Government plan for granted to build mosque unchallenged but to build a church, will require all the papers approved, otherwise they will demolish it wh3n you are about to complete it.

If they are talking of power movement ie zoning, then it should go to the south east.
Ngige,Ogbonnaya Onu,Ken Nnamani etc are all capable hands. South west has no moral right to contest after 16yrs as president and VP.
Then if South west insists on contesting, then it means there is no zoning, which means another abokki can contest and of course south east and south south will support him/her so we will be seen to have stopped playing politics of hatred as afonjas say.
GEJ has served the Eastern Region term. Obj West Region. Yar'dua Northern Region and Buhari also. After Buhari, it shall be West.
Now 6 Geo-Political zones are a creation of Abacha not the bases of our negotiation for independence and co-existence as a country.
Moreover, there is no need to argue if GEJ was Azikwe or not. Asking the west not to contest is an indirect approach to cheat them. When GEJwas president, did the East not dominate the Government? If you now deny GEJ and call him SS, do not expect other Nigerians to be stupid.

We must salute the courage of this man to speak out notwithstanding the series of insult and attack that may follow from APC .

Every discerning minds will and should ask APC and by extension PMB to explain to Nigerians by publishing it online and National Newspapers the previous loans taken by this Administration and what it has been used to do. Concrete evidence of projects executed, and the locations in this country. We deserve to know before APC and the 9th assembly plunge us to endless debt crisis
PoliticsRe: ‘Why We Picked Daura For University Of Transportation’ - Mohammed Babakobi by middlebelter(m): 5:01pm On Dec 02, 2019
The explanation is not intelligent enough to convince discerning minds. You decided to choose a location because of plan to build on future time network of railway line.
We expect you to tell us tha given the years of experience that has been garnered perhaps in Lagos or Kanoetc operating railways, we are choosing the Location of the University there not on a place without a single railway line. The University will probably pre-date the railway network.
We know you decided to site the University in Daura to curry PMB'S favour which is also tantamount to conflict of interest on the part of Mr President.

PoliticsRe: Who ‘s Afraid Of Natasha – The Indomitable Amazon Of Kogi!- Dr Olufon. by middlebelter(m): 11:35pm On Nov 23, 2019
Thank you Dr Olufon for the courage to put down this review and for the thought provoking questions on what the Kogi women are doing to support Natasha Akpoti.
I watched one of the video she shared on her Facebook page where she was lamenting how she was ridiculed and called unprintable names for mounstering the courage to challenge GYB in a poll. This is to underscore the fact that beyond the physical attack on her campaign Office and the public humiliation at INEC organized stakeholders forum, she has not been spared of emotional blackmail. Yet, the women folk in Kogi state could not show her an atom of solidarity.
This is a lady that prevailed on the 8th assembly to conduct a public hearing on Ajaokuta Iron and Steel Industry broadcast nationally on NTA and the the Minister of Mines,Iron and Steel ,now Governor of Ekiti state didn't attend the public hearing and failed to send a representative.
Today, she has been able to facilitate the signing of agreement between Nigeria and Russia to complete the moribund project, meanwhile, a good number of the People that will benefit from.the Company from Kogi Central are busy casting aspersion on her. Although I am happy Mr President went to sign the agreement with Russia, but her role should be recognised by APC leaf Government and all the attack on her should be investigated, and perpetrators punished, including INECand Police collaborators.
Natasha Akpoti needs the support of the masses , especially in Kogi state.

GENEGIRIA:
Stop talking crap! the only reason I am on nairaland is because you nigerians were talking about Ghana and Ghanaians. that is my only interest. Do you see me commenting on anything apart from issues relating to Ghana and Ghanaians? I don't give a flying fvck about anything else on nairaland grin

i don't know why you nigerians think whatever success Ghana achieves is because of nigeria. Ghana's economy is doing very well, as Africa's best performing economy, and growing rapaciously at 8.8 percent.

Ghanaians are generally friendly people, but we are beginning to see some people want to take advantage of our friendly attitude. Friendship is built on mutual respect. you respect me I respect you, that is the foundation of a good friendship. the good thing is that trade among west african countries is extremely low. perhaps apart from Benin, the rest of west africa have very little trade so they can conveniently move on.

Is it Ghana's fault that nigerian does not have regular electricity? why cant nigerian fix its electricity problem and compete economically with other west african nations? how long will you shy away from competing with other west african countries because of power shortages in your country? and you keep signing all the international treaties that requires you to open your borders, such as ecowas and africa free trade treaty, but you don't want to abide those agreements you signed.

nigeria currently exports freely to Ghana but will not allow Ghanaian exports into Nigeria. if this is not hipocisy of the highest order, than I don't know what it is. my personal opinion is that ecowas is a sham, and that every ecowas country should henceforth be free to whatever it wants to promote its national interest. nigerian cannot adopt policies it thinks is in the country's best interest, and not expect other countries to follow suit.

i don't understand what you mean by a nigerian leader can hit Ghana hard? that is a very stvpid thing to say. what can nigeria do to Ghana? exactly what can nigeria do to '"hurt" Ghana? nigeria cannot do sh1t to Ghana. stop talking crap cool

[s][/s]
Do you know what, I like your boldness and that's is exactly the African spirit. The question now is this, do you think, if Ghana were Nigeria and Nigeria, Ghana do you think you as a person will like what is currently happening between the two countries? The day Nigeria will get the leadership issue right both Ghana and South Africa will pay for the unwarranted attacks. Size has its advantages and only a fool will not use it like current Nigerian leaders.

GENEGIRIA:
let nigeria keep their border locked and Ghana throw out all foreign retailers grin grin grin I prefer that option. let Ghanaians and Nigerians stay in their own country. ECOWAS is a big scam.

[s][/s]
Genegiria or whatever you username is, I know you are a Ghanaian on this platform, I have my facts, I expect you to take the feedback you read from here to Ghana and you should not,I repeat you should not come to this platform to attack anyone on his of her opinion.
Ghana to the best of my understanding is one of the most friendly nations to Nigeria and you can be sure depending on your age and level of exposure that Nigeria has been reciprocating the good relationship. However, in recent time, we are beginning to see how Ghana has been taking undue advantages of our relationship. Let me say the for the purpose of record and avoidance of doubt, no nation will ever tolerate Economic from another country. Today, an average Nigerian prefer Ghana to all the Francophone WA combined, but when companies start to close down in Nigeria only to open operation in Ghana because of cheap labour and perhaps stable Electricity supply , to end up supplying the products to Nigeria market under ECOWAS free trade agreement, will any sane leader not look for a way to address such issue. Tell me will Ghana tolorate such from Nigeria? You can't love your neighbor more than yourself.
The treatment you have been giving to Nigerians in your country, if we retaliate, it won't be okay for West Africa.
We have seen it now that indeed, Ghana is ready to take advantage of Nigeria if the have the opportunity and Comments and actions of an average Ghanian is capable of driving a crazy Nigerian leader to hit you hard, but for now, allow the peaceful relationship to thrive, otherwise, we shall let you know we are not completely helpless.

Thank you for the advice , but please go back to Ghana, tell them to stop harassing Nigerian businessmen. For PMB to re-open the border, we must be assured the smuggling of arms into our country will be stopped your country is only interested in doing exporting to Nigeria not even a single attempt to help us fight the insurgency issue.
