nghubs1:
The AREWA Youths Consultative Forum has reacted to former president Obasanjo’s letter to Buhari warning him against running for president in 2019.
According to a statement released by the president of Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, he lauded former president Obasanjo for his courageous demands.

Shettima said

““Obasanjo is saying what people like us saw from inception. We saw it coming earlier than now. We felt patriotism does not mean if government favours you, you cannot be objective. Being objective means even if it is your father that is doing something strong, you should summon courage to say it is right or wrong.

“To me, I strongly believe that the only way you can show you love Buhari is to tell him the simple truth, which we did long before now but when we advised him how to do better than the previous governments, we were tagged Buhari’s enemy by his blind followers who felt whatever he does is right.

“It is not done that way because, government is like a barrack. Anybody can be there. “This is democracy. It is about the people. Your primary responsibility has to be the welfare of the people. Anything short of that is a total failure.

“You cannot torture people in the name of governance. people are dying because of hardship.if You do that, you waste all the goodwill. The blind followers will follow you.

“We felt that if Buhari fails, it is the north that has failed. We feel the pains of Nigerians. According to him, even though president Obasanjo did not do better when he was in office, his message cannot be ignored.

It is not because Obasanjo is better than Buhari but the message is Important. Obasanjo is the architect of what we have today. His words are important than him.

“I commend him for his courage. He should have said that before now. The time Buhari should have performed he was complaining. So many people have spoken. Hali Na’Abba has spoken. They cannot all be Buhari’s enemies”, he said.

While I commend my fellow countrymen for saying the truth, I I must quickly highlight my point of disagreement with paragraph saying OBJ, I didn't do better. You certainly have no bases for comparing Dr OBJ with PMB.
What can you point out as promised fulfilled by PMB? Anti corruption war is marred with, Mainagate and Grasscutter SFG, Boko Haram war though he made effort, all killing has been replace by herdsmen. Single Treasury Account has been discovered to be a joke with various discoveries like billion been kept in private account by NNPC of FX round tripping?
Now OBJ established EFCC, I do you remember the treatment given to Tafa Balogun former IGP? OR a minister that was OBJ senior is school dead?, let we forget to quickly, I we take telephone call for granted these days right? He introduced GSM today it is successful. Power second reform he started was basterdized by Yar'adua. He paid accumulated foreign debt, as how much debt PMB has added to the debt portfolio of this country after GEJ and your heart will shrink. OBJ left over $68b in foreign Reserve and Excess Crude account.
OBJ made a bear balance appointment he didn't appoint Yoruba only indeed Yoruba got very few appointment through him

My man, PMB should disemberk honourably, otherwise, GEJ will laughter at him.
PoliticsRe: "Buhari Does Not Need Obasanjo’s Advice" - Dr. Victor Oye, APGA Chairman by middlebelter(m): 7:08pm On Jan 23, 2018
marryjesus:
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Dr. Victor Oye has taken a swipe at the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo over his advice that President Muhammadu Buhari should not contest the 2019 election.

Oye said Obasanjo was not in the best position to advise Buhari.“Obasanjo’s opinion and Nigerian’s opinions differ. People might have different opinion. What we need now in Nigeria is for us to remove unnecessary tension.

“Even if Buhari is not going to run in 2019, we shouldn’t create unnecessary tension because the man himself knows what to do and he doesn’t need Obasanjo’s letter to take such decision,” Oye stated.

According to the APGA Chairman, “It is Buhari’s entitlement to run for second term, but if he is saying he cannot run, he knows what to do.”

When Obasanjo was president what did he do? Was he a wonderful leader? Did he tar road in South-east? Enugu to Port-Hacourt road he didn’t do it. Okigwe to Oga he didn’t do it, and so on, and he busy talking about Nepotism. Obasanjo does not have moral justification to say such a thing.”

OBJ was a good president. For the record, his regime
gave us GSM, introduced, I EFCC and ICPC, he fought corruption better than all his successor till date, he quenched Ketu, Hausa vs Yoruba cash without body language that suggest he took side with Yorubas. Don't forget the Agulere vs Umulere crisis, or Jos Plateau and Kano killings., amount he was bold. OBJ gave better appointment to Igbos than his kinsmen - at least the Igbos didn't cry marginalization like they are doing under PMB. Strategic security office were shared across the country.
The accumulated debt that were hidering budget performance were not blamed on previous regime, they were paid unlike like the new song we hear everyday from Lai Mohammed, it is GEJ that did not this, or that did not...

Under OBJ, minimum wage was reviewed and primary school teacher up country were able to buy car and build houses.
You are talking about OBJ not building road? If you will collect, I under military rule, I Abdulkareem Adisa said it will require word bank loan to dualize Ibadan - Ilorin road, OBJ, did without borrowing a dime(although not completed),, Abuja - Lokoja wS started and another major road in the SE zone were started by him. Projects the military made us to believe Nigeria has no money to execute.
Can you remember how pensioners use to suffer? OBJ introduce PRA act 2004 to stop pension dilema, yet PMB allowed Maina and his nepotic team to be protected and escape after looting pension money.

PoliticsRe: ‘Herdsmen Debacle Mischievously Invented By CAN' – JNI by middlebelter(m): 9:42am On Jan 22, 2018
Why should JNI start blaming CAN For voicing out concern that PMB has failed to protect Christian population in the North? Does it mean they prefer CAN to remain silent why the genocide of Christians continue why JNI look the other way? Supposing the killing is more on Muslim side would they have remain silent?
Let the Sultan know and declare it throughout the Fulani Caliphate that attempt to turn the herdsmen terrorists genocide into a religious war has failed. We in the Middlebelt now know better, and shall resist attempt to manipulate the situation. Yoruba Muslims, watch your back because if this JNI should invite religion war, you are not safe. From experience in the North, once you are Yoruba, and you are not a recognized Muslim.
Is it too much for Sultan to visit Benue to commiserate with them? Why has PMB failed to visit Benue. If that has happened in Sokoto or Kano, would he remain in Abuja? No doubt, the Fulani are powerful in this country but I sincerely hope they know that other tribes in this country are not happy with the way they keep killing and destroying other tribes lives and prosperities?
What CAN is saying is the truth, JNI, talk to the killers and leave CAN alone for complaining.

Back to d topic, They look like walkers.. Lol
I think because he is a Muslim and cannot stand the crisis that argument on issues of religion will be on a forum created by him.
However, I expect him to create similar conditions for Christian thread on this forum. Seun should see himself more like a nation figure the will grow to become a stateman. He should therefore sure that Christians does not feel marginalized.
Alternatively, he can create separate forums for Muslim have and Christian religion that are not linked to nairaland forum depending on the economic viability.
I will for instance not vote for him if he is been considered for a national honour, if it can be confirmed that he is not giving the same level of treatment to Christian thread as he does Muslim thread.
Seun will soon bag national honour.

PoliticsRe: Buhari To Grill Ortom Over Arming Of Militia Monday by middlebelter(m):
ogbeniolola:
Ortom is a failed governor and he is deploying divisive tactics to attract public sympathy to his government.....His anti-grazing law is meant to malign the fulanis who have coexisted with the tivs and idomas in benue for many years and why would they now take up arms against anyone?

Because Ortom has failed to notch up the infrastructural level of the state and deliver on his electoral promise, he came up with a useless law to create disunity in the state; does it mean it's only fulani people that engage in cattle business and there are no farmers amongst them? And does it mean there are no herdmen among tiv and idoma people?...so what's his problem with Fulani-herdsmen when indeed we also have tiv-herdsmen and idoma-herdsmen?

Go to benue, there is no road project to show in the three years of Ortom government; no structured transportation system instead the state is characterised by "okada and keke napep" everywhere; no flyover; no hospital; he's owing workers salaries and recent Waec results have shown benue state as one of the worst performing; benue under Ortom is poor in IGR generation and depend solely on federal allocation. Instead Audu Ogbeh should be commended for bringing prosperity to yam farmers in benue and he appears to be taking shine off the state government from Abuja. So Ortom had to come up with an anti-grazing non-sense pretending to be contributing to the lot of the farmer. Let Ortom show what he has done for benue farmers other than anti-grazing lies.....This is exactly the point Governor Lalong of Plateau state was insinuating.

So what do you expect a sinking governor with this kind of performance to do knowing that another election is approaching? This explains his shameful tactics of using anti-grazing law to cause chaos in an otherwise peaceful state....He doesn't want benue people to ask questions hence he created a situation that would put them in a mourning mood and kept blaming the federal government and attracting public sympathy. The innocent blood he has spilled will judge him.
So the Fulani people have started changing moniker to Yoruba name to fight on nairaland?

If your people, and without exception, PMB think he can annihilate our people and expect us to maintain undignify silence, he has missed it. We won't be intimated. The Fulani security council is trying to be a judge in its own case, I this matter will get to ICJ. PMB should be prepared to face genocide case in Geneva.
PoliticsRe: FG Bans Open Grazing To Curb Herdsmen-Farmers Clashes by middlebelter(m): 10:20pm On Jan 09, 2018
It is the quality of advice like that of Chief Audu Ogbeh's that is making PMB a monster in the broad day light. In the first place, why must FG give private businessmen free land to grow their livestock? Why are they trying to appease these people? Will the FG also give free land to other crop farmers nationwide?

PMB body language with that of IGP appears to me to be in bad faith. If he could quench IPOB, attack Boko Haram, and why is the herdsmen carrying war equipments more sophisticated than Nigeria Police be confronted with Police instead of the Army?
Is Mr President and Agric Minister aware that mere proclamation that open grazing has been banned without NASS enacting a law will not stop tẹ wreck less killing by the 4th most dangerous terrorist group in the word? PMB has been enjoying much support and love from me but to be honest, I fellow countrymen, I his inaction of the evil by his tribesmen has changed my mind. Indeed, someone said before he became president he had to travel from Katsina to Ibadan to warn the Oyo State Government Lam Adesina not to allow Yorubas to continue killing the Fulanis in Oyo North then. Are we then to believe that Mr President is being partial.

The global community is watching.

The report is biased. The writer is painting the payment of tithe as if it were payment to Ashimolowo. Look, I am not a member of his Church, but we Christians should not continue to watch this people from other religions attack our Christian Faith. How is it their business if people pay tithes? Is it not Biblical? Is anybody forcing the writer and his pay masters to pay? As for Pastor Ashimolowo's luxury house, is the writer and his supporters aware of the number of books that this man has written and the volume of his investment? Even if he were using the Church's money will God fail to bring him to judgment?

It is not difficult to understand why UK is fast drifting into the hands of ISIS and Muslim Mayor's, but they expect to replicate the same obnoxious laws in Nigeria that will stiff the growth of Pentecostal movements?
My position is not a tacit support for misappropriation of tithe and offerings but I strongly believe that any body cheating by diverting tithes will have most severe punishment. I believe the God of the the Holy Bible, and the he won't fail to punish such people.
