Have you forgotten that it is the same PDP that institute d a probe ? Probably to indict OBJ because of his previous anti corruption fight and the intentions of the sponsors if Yar'adua like Ibori to silence him?
The last paragraph is very instructive, Let PMB go and work and stop blame game.

[quote author=EastGold post=67u and you have no solution to it[/quote]In fairness to the man, as VP, his power is limited especially when you have a president that decided to sorround himself with only his tribesmen. It is therefore ok to speak out a National Security Council meeting, but it will be irresponsible for him to be making public condemnation of a government where he's number 2.

Let's give him benefits of doubt that the man will not ignore the senseless killings.

Sometimes I cringe when I read the responses of South Africa government to. International matters. The SA opposed the invasion Libya and removal of Murmar Gaddafi, now they are recalling the Ambassador to Israel after indirectly aiding killings of hundreds of Nigerian/black Africans.

Nonsense!
Christianity EtcRe: CAN General Secretary, Musa Asake, Is Dead by middlebelter(m): 7:06am On May 12, 2018
hopefulLandlord:
Our Nairaland Christians can wake Musa Asake up from the dead, after all Jesus said his believers would do "greater works" than he did and promised them they'll get whatever they asked for in his name so long they have faith
Distance is no excuse as Jesus healed the centurion's servant from long distance

let's check the bible for those promises about faith and prayer

Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen. “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:21-22)

Jesus also reiterated it again

Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew 18:19-20)

and again

Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25)

and again

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14)

and again

(Matthew 17:20 For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.) then whatever you ask for in prayer will be granted, there are obviously only a few options available.

if the above verses were true, there are obviously only a few options available for Christians to chose after watching their prayers fail over and over again to wake dead people up;

1) the Bible is wrong, Jesus never said these things

2) the Bible is right, Jesus said these things but Jesus was wrong

3) the Bible is right, Jesus said these things but Jesus lied

4) no one who prayed for anything that actually required god's intervention - like amputees - had any faith (Salamanders and Starfish grow back lost limbs all the time. And they never even heard of Jesus)

5) the Bible is just a collection of myths & fables & Yahweh, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Satan doesn't exist

Take your pick
You will know the truth one day. I pray you know the Bible truth here on earth before it is too late. Miracles were not carried out in the by Jesus to satisfy human curiousity or for competition. The man of God has completed his own mission on earth and has gone to rest. You despise Christianity because of that?

As true Christians, it is our responsibility to pray for those that despise us and persecute us. If God can use Saul of Thasus and change him to a leading Apostle of the word, all hope is not lost on you.
PoliticsRe: Buhari, APC Taking Nigerians For Fools Says Obasanjo by middlebelter(m): 1:48pm On May 11, 2018
midolian:
Who takes Nigerians for fools than Aremu Obj? Nigerians have one problem and its the reason why these old men take us for fools. We are too forgetful!
If not, why would Obj confidently speak in public from time to time as if he didnt sin against God and man when he was president?

The man is even beginning to see himself as a god which makes everything about him very annoying
OBJ may not be a saint but, when you do a comprehensive comparative analysis of OBJ government and all the successive government including the present one, OBJ government will come out as the best. the facts are there:

PMB always blame the previous GEJ government for her failures. I wish to state that OBJ met a worse situation that PMB. Our Foreign Reserve was just a meager $3b or thereabout left by Abdulsalami's government. OBJ did not seat on blame game, he did not only work on the humongous debt burden and ensure it was paid and cancelled, he grew the Forein Reserve to about $48b and about $20b in Excess Crude account.

The security crisis was there during OBJ regime. The Kano Sectarian crisis, Plateau Hausa vs natives crisis, Agulere vs Umulere in the SE , the Udi crisis in SS. The man OBJ tackled all.

OBJ was faced with serious political crisis and opposition. The National Assembly was always boiling due to our learning process of Democracy. Do you remember the Chuba Okadigbo Evan or Evan(s) saga? or the young speaker Buhari that was impeached? etc. The man despite being confronted with such diverse crisis, did not blame the previous military government but he worked at stabilizing the polity and the security of lives and property.

The GSM you take for granted today was not a small achievement by OBJ especially if you ever experience going to wake up by 3.00am to queue all days at NITEL office to call a love one.Abacha issued the same license and it failed before OBJ made it a reality.

What about the pension reform act 2004 that transformed the administration and management of pension in this country. Those of us that have retried love one that have suffered due to poorly managed PFA will understand and appreciate this better. Now workers can be sure of something to fall back on in old age. PMB , had the opportunity to arrest Maina for misappropriating pension fund, rather he chose to promote him untill it generated serious public furore, yet he allowed the man to escape.

Shall we talk about anti corruption? OBJ did not only set up the body EFCC, he used it as much as possible to fight corruption till the corrupt ganged up against him to say he abused rule of law and was fighting political enemies. We however know that he did nort spear his IGP Tafa Balogun when he was caught misappropriating public fund,( his IGP did not ignore the national assembly, an institution that should be strengthened to check the exclusiveness of the executive) unlike a president that refereed serious grave of grass cutting by SFG to administrative panel that allowed the man to go home. Many OBJ's minister were arrested by EFCC but PMB AG recently renegotiated an already completed Abacha loot recovery to pay certain individual about $16m and nobody is talking about it.

The Abuja stadium is there and we know from and can remember under military regime when Major General Adiza from Ilorin was minister of Works and Housing that he said Nigeria would require a Wordl Bank Loan to dual-liase Ibadan -Ilorin road, but OBJ , started that road with many other simultaneously in this country without borrowing a dime. In terms of appointment, OBJ did not single out the Yorubas to favour. We can see what is happening in presidency.

In summary, OBJ may not be a saint, but he appears to be the best so far. At least better than this APC current president.

I will like to appeal to all well meaning Yorubas and other well meaning Nigerians to support this man. He is not against the Fulanis but against injustice that has been foster on a group of people through indirect colonization. If we can condemn apartheid in South Africa, it is time to redress the imposition of Fulanis as Emir on a Yoruba land on the pretense of religion.

Will the Yoruba leaders support this man? The call for correction of historical error is as valid today as in the time of our own Nelson Mandela. Will our Southern countrymen and Middlebelt support this movement for correction? It not only necessary but compulsory . We know that the killings in Middlebelt that in ongoing can result once again in a type of Ilorin Caliphate. Will the likes of Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi , Sultan of Sokoto etc be happy with this call ? I doubt. Will they fight back? Most likely.

What then are our expectations. The Ooni of Ife, the Alaafin of Oyo etc must unite urgently and engage their northern colleagues as well as engage the Federal Government on the need to correct the error of the 18th century in the 21st century. The Emirs can be the king over the Fulani settlers while the Yorubas that are majority should be allowed to operate their kingship with adequate recognition as first class king in Kwara State.

Hey, I beg to disagree with you!

If he has the files, he should work on it. Files are not meant to be kept for decoration. Some members may have issues but hey, we are talking about the National Assembly as an institution. It is not about Saraki or Dogara. His action is an affront against Nigeria, against Democracy and even against PMB.

Oh, why do you think people respect him as IGP? it is not because he has gun and instruments of coercion? It is the authority conferred on him by the law, it is that law that created his office, gave him Uniform and allocated resources to that office. The national assembly has the power to make and amend the law. In the absence of the law, IGP is Mr someone on the street.
PoliticsRe: Police IG Idris Snubs Senate the third time - READ WHY by middlebelter(m):
The IGP appears to be more powerful than PMB or how do we explain the public disclosure by Mr.President in Benue State that he was not aware the IGP did not carry out his directive to relocate to Benue State? How do we explain the promise made by the president to investigate the incident to which we have not the outcome of that investigation as at today?

If anyone refuse to heed the invitation of the Parliament , the Legislators will direct the IGP to arrest. Now, who will arrest the IGP? The law will have to take a look at that. The IGP to the best of my understanding is not only disrespecting our Legislators, he is disrespecting Nigerians. Who can we blame? Of course it is the president that appointed him into that office in the first place, he has the power to relief him of his position and he should, except Mr President want us to belive that IGP is disregarding the second arm of Government on his instruction. It is definitely impossible for him to act in that manner if he is not sure of the support of the president otherwise, his removal from office will only be made known to him though the press.

Who then is subverting our hard earned democracy? The IGP, the Legislator or Mr President? My answer is Mr. President.

I put it to this lady, do you think PMB would have handled the Benue killings the way he handled it if it were in Katsina state two Imams were killed? If the killings at Gwer were in Daura, would Mr president have retainwd the he service chief for not having solutions to the killings especially the IGP that failed to stay behind.

It is not about history, it about attitude towards the crisis that is giving us Nigerian and by extension the international community which Donald Trump is respresenting serious concerns. That prominent Nigerian Muslims leader choose to be silent is not strange. The Sultan and his group did not show much concern to killings of Christians by Boko Haram untill they start attacking mosques. Rather they find it more comfortable to criticize CAN for speaking out.

Can anyone blame this man? If the allegations against PMB's tribesmen has not been refuted and the president promise to query the IGP the last time he managed to visit Benue after endless outcry against his insensitivity to the killings, is it out of place to call on people to defend themselves against killers?

If we turn the table around and assumed the killings going on in Benue were taking place in Katsina, and perhaps Daura is under seige like Gwer, would Mr.President's attitude towards the crisis have remained the same? Would the IGP and the Service Cheif still be holding their offices? Would he be commissioing roundabout in Bauchi if two leading Imams from Daura and Or Katsina state have just been slaughtered with some worshippers?

Can Mr.President convince middle belt state he truly care about thier security like he cared when he rushed to Daura the other week to attend the burial of one of his relatives? Now in Benue hundreds are dying!

When you spend money on someone else, be convinced that it's money within your budget limit and not just to impress. Never assume that money equals loyalty from anybody

INEC reverses self, confirms Kogi gov’s registration in Abuja

Representative of Kogi West senatorial district, Dino Melaye yesterday advised Governor Yahaya Bello against believing that President Muhammadu Buhari would save him from being defeated in the 2019 governorship poll.

Melaye who spoke during the launch of Safe Kogi Project (SKP) coalition, also accused the John Odigie-Oyegun-led All Progressives Congress (APC) of supporting illegality as far as the affairs of Kogi were concerned.

He alleged that Bello was hiding under President Buhari’s integrity to carry out misdeeds in Kogi State, saying he (Bello) would be deceived to believe that the President would save him from any wrongdoings.

His words: “It is sad to note that instead of embarking on development projects in the state, the governor has been parading and using the President’s name, thinking Buhari’s name is a special immunity.

“Muhammadu Buhari’s name is not, will not and can never be immunity for any governor. It is sad that he doesn’t even know who Muhammadu Buhari is.

“The President will not support killings, stealing and when it is time for prosecution, I want to believe that his lawyers will use the President’s name to defend himself in court.”

Melaye, who is the group’s Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), said Kogi has never had it so bad in its history to the extent that the state under Bello has not accomplished any project.

Members of the group include Muhammed Ohiare, Atai Aidoko, Arome Salifu, Kabir Tijani and Tom Ohikeru, among others.

Director General of the group, Friday Sani, said the state under the current administration has become a mess because the government was directionless, aimless and lacked commitment to the people and development of the state.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday reversed itself over allegations that it lied against Bello for allegedly registering twice, as it confirmed issuing a temporary voter card to the governor in Okene.

The governor had received his temporary voter card for his transferred Permanent Voter Card (PVC) last week at the INEC registration Centre in Okene.

However, in defence of its action, INEC said Bello applied for a transfer of his voter card on January 26, 2018, through the electoral officer at the Okene office of INEC.

Head, Voters Education and Publicity, Ahmed Biambo Bagudu, said: “Having satisfied the requirements for such transfer in accordance with the provisions of the electoral act and guidelines, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Kogi State approved the transfer of his registration from Abuja to Okene Local Council.
My Senator Dino Melaye, thank you for your current position. Although you brought Yahaya Bello to affict us but it is good you are the one fighting him now. Please let me ask you one big question. WHY CANT YOU UNIVERSITY WITH CHIEF FALEKE JAMES f to safe Kogi from Yahaya Bello?

What about other crop like continue major imput for the moribond text Ile Industry that generate thousands of employment? Even the rice we are talking about, have they been able to bring down the price? Don't forget the Cattle colony policy that is sharply dividend the food crop farmers against the herdsmen? Now I can only struggle to award 50%

Unity-I agree with you.

Corruption "Although the man is still below expectations, I but honestly think you are mixing nepotism with corruption. The man should be awarded 50%
Infrastructure office _Haba, once again, the way you award Mark eeh! Please mention one or two new projects that PMB has initiated and completed. The railway GEJ executed over 50%, ongoing roads etc? Infact am getting angry. 20:% is what I can approved for project continuty.

Security". 35% not 85%- Isaac O A government that ride to power on the basis of her campaign and on security has still not been able to eliminate BH, I more than 100 Chibuikem girls are still out there, not only than security has taken a worse dimension in Benue, Taraba and many other part of this country. 35%is indeed very generation on my part. - they gave false hope.
