We Nigerian should know that we are lucky and that our previous protest for a working democracy has been fruitful. Why should anybody blame the teacher? I doubt if any of the parents will ever attempt to challenge the atrocities? A country with a president that has failed to relinquish power for more than 25years? He can only breed citizens that will not be bold to challenge errors. |
focus7: When will you people stop tribalist in comments? For crying out, it very unfair to generalize a comment made by an individual by blame a particular tribe. Let me say for the record that am not Igbo, but I may have to fight on the side of Barr a if the injustice in this country continue the way we are going? There is no particular tribe in this country that is faultless. What we as youths should do is to ignore the imperfections of our leaders and strive to evolve a united better Nigeria for the sake of our future. One of the best ways to start is to start attacking ourselves based on our tribe or religion. We should attack ourselves on principles, confront corruption, nepotism, anything that is unfair and a threat to our national unity.. Above all we should believe I the enormous potential of this country GOD BLESS NIGERIA! |
[b] Am from the political north but I certainly disagree with this bill. If the leaders from NE after taking their fair share of national cake, expects the other parts of the country to make further sacrifice for their failure of leadership, and the national assembly blindly approves it, then Nigeria is indeed sitting on a time bomb! After the civil war, did Nigeria set up any commission to rebuild SE. Lagos State that is accommodating Nigerian from all the 774 LGA in this country and has provided a secure environment that Nigerian can proudly identify with irrespective of tribe and religion is being denied special status just to maintain the decaying infrastructure because some legislature from certain part of the country feels Lagos is a Yoruba man business? Then we should be more prepared for more serious self inflicted internal crisis than Boko Haram. Yes, NE deserves help, in particular our brethren that are direct victims of Boko Haram attack. However, the approach is completely wrong. You can rob Peter to pay Paul. When the government in Northern Nigeria neglected education, and decided to put jet their allocations, the indirect consequence is Boko Haram. If this bill is allowed to flow, we shall be indirectly motivating future internal crisis. Please look for alternative means of funding the rebuilding of NE. For example, set up a fund raising body, invite local and foreign donors, corporate and individual, regional bodies like Ecowas, Commonwealth, OPEC, Organisation of Islamic Countries, etc to come and donate, share experience etc. Please don't pass the bill, otherwise, be ready to pass another of such bill for MASSOB, OPC, Plateau, Agatu in Venue state etc. I have spoken my mind as a concerned Nigerian. SoNature:Am not a lawyer but common sense dictates that if you divulge the charges against these judges to NJC, they will use their expertise to frustrate the case eventually when they are charged to court. Since this matter in on crime, it is better they meet in the court. Again, it appears NJC has been avoiding handling down the appropriate sanctiond against the judges probably because they are colleague or maybe the members of NJC are as also corrupt and the affected judges know it and may probably expose them should the NJC punish them. My appeal to Nigerian is that we should support PMB to fight this monster call corruption no matter how imperfect his approach may be there is always room for improvement. We shouldn't allow another type of Yar'dua come to deceive with rule of law that will set the James Iboris free only to be convicted by UK! On Ameachi, if PMB fail to tackle his cabinet members, surely another government will come to PROBE them including PMB. In the long run, NIGERIA will be better-off. |
Somebody help me! So good thing coming from Dino Melaye outcry? This man may not be totally bad as I perceived? OK MTN thank you for the confession. The same way Nigeria made a mistake taking cash to South Africa and it was seized? The circumstances that is stronger than compliance with the law of our land should attract MAXIMUM SANCTION!!! PMB we the are watchingyou and your ministers again. Let's hope there will be no behind the curtain dealing!? |
plaetton:People like you should learn to show patriotism sometimes especially if don't fully comprehend the matter being discussed. Read the thread again and you will discover the word "illegal" that implies they transfered some money in contravention of the law. Before a corporate operate in a geopolitical matrix, it is expected to understand the law of the land and abide by it. If the law says you can only repatriate only 40%of your profit and you agree to operate in such clime any breach will attract the appropriate sanctiond and such a firm will be regarded as law breaker just like when individuals breaks the law. |
Permit me to ask if the Oba has not been married before his coronation today? From his speech, he said his own mother died 1976 and did not have the privilege of ascending the throne as a queen with his father . At 63years or there about, I expect the King's children to be grown adults. Someone in the house should tell us the roles of the three newly married Queens or dose it mean some of them have been married to him as a Prince before today? |
Yorubas are doing great.Tribalist. It is not about a tribe it is about Nigeria. #amproudtobeanigerian# |
12inches1:You have just displayed absolute ignorance of DIL business strategies. DIL is in business to make profit and Corporate Social Responsibility only comes second. This current investment in Switzerland is to help DIL leverage on the technical knowhow of the firm in gas production which in the long run will Impact Nigeria economy positively. Hey guy! Watch out for DIL in the next 3years and you will be proud of the gut. |
Even though I have sympathy for APC and voted PMB, I think I agree with PDP absolutely on this matter. PMB should wake up! He is president Federal Republic of Nigeria and not APC presidential candidate. His body language so far is not too good for unity of this country. Starting from the appointment of his kitchen cabinet, key federal appointments that were skewed in favour of the core North, to his recent hasty congratulations of Obaseki while failing to congratulate Dickson. The current crisis rocking Ondo state APC and the way Kogi State APC crisis was handled are clear indications of what to expect in 2019. Perhaps we should take it that the Fulani dynasty are back in power and ready to teach other tribes in Nigeria how to play the game of politics? How do we explain the continual killing and kidnapping of various minorities by Fulani Herdsmen in middle belt and part of South East? |
I want to appeal to all Nigerian to stand with Nigerian Senate on this matter. Yes I may not like Senator Dino Melaye, but he has my strong support on this matter. If this allegation is proven to be true, this action of MTN will amount to economic sabotage. Repatriating such a huge some of USD in this time when the country is in serious FX crisis will amount to insensitivity of the part of the corporate giant even if they are on the right side of the law. I hereby move the motion that NAIRALAND THE LEADING NIGERIAN SOCIAL MEDIA MAKES OUR SUPPORT TO NIGERIAN SENATE ON THIS MATTER KNOW TO THE SENATE. Fellow nairalander, I so move. |
omojoshy:It is not in our best interest to always read political angle to every move against corruption. I don't like Dino Melaye but hey, Nigeria interest comes first! |
ificatchmodeh:The fact that the South is divided today does not mean it will stay divided perpetually. Remember the division you are talking about in the South was orchestrated by GEJ when he chose to sideline key political figures from the zone despite the fact that they were responsible to his ascension of the throne? Also remember that the SW has been the only region keeping this country together. If today the SW decides to go back to her tent, you can be sure the SE will only clap hands and hasten back home. The key loosers will be those of us from Middle belt without coherent association and of course the Hassan FULANIS. If PMB is serious about rebuilding this country, he should address the noise of corruption that is oozing out from his inner chamber. Allow Abba Kyari and Dairy face EFCC and come clean and this will lend credence to his anti corruption fight. He should demonstrate to us for once that what PDP is saying about the anti corruption fight to be one sided is not true and submitting his staff for probe. Nigerian should eschew tribal and political sentiments and let's fight corruption collectively before its too late. |
What this Fulani Herdsmen are doing to my people in middlebelt is more dangerous than Nokia Horam or Niger Delta Militancy. Silent killing is going on almost everyday, people can not go to pursue their legitimate business because of fear of these terrorists yet Federal government is NOT paying attention to the menace just because we are minorities. Millions have been spent on fight against Borough Horam and the fight has received international and opl Huattention, Niger Delta Militancy is also enjoying both Federal government and international community attention because of the strategic assets and investments of this country. But, because we are majorities, PMB, administration choose to ignore our call. The Sultan of Sokoto has not seen any reason to make any meaningful contribution that will solve the problem other than to say the herdsmen are Militants from Libya yet they feel more comfortable to travel from Sokoto, cross river Niger to add Kwara and Kogi to North. Perhaps the gradual killing is to hasten the elimination of dominant tribes in the area so that they can impose Emir and have full control? We are thinking this way because PMB did NOT find it necessary to deploy military to Obajana-Kabba road to flush out the so called terrorists. We voted for PMB, but what we are getting from him is below expectations. If Ajaokuta Iron and Steel were in Kaduna, the Northern oligarchs wouldn't allow it to suffer the current setback. Nigerians are watching the power game being played by the core North with interests. |
I feel so happy within me with Innoson for that action that I feel like dancing. This is because the company has just done the right thing. What this complaint and their positive response will do is to generate more business for the firm within and outside the country and Mark you, Internet does not forget any event. Today, September 16,2016 I woke up on my bed to read about a brand I can proudly relate with in my country, Not talking about Ford, Toyota, Honda etc but a made in Nigeria brand, thank you Innoson for the good response, you are teaching us that Nigerian can do thing right. To Dr ABBA, thank you for the complaint on twitter, some people condemned your action but you have helped us to know that Innoson is a serious minded business concern. Proud of MADE IN NIGERIA, up Innoson! |
Innoson should grab the opportunity to show that they have excellent post sale service by asking for the location of the customer and then direct him to the nearest service center with an apology which should be displayed on all the media that read his public outcry. Thereafter, Innson should encourage all existing customers to contact all their care or service centres all over the country. An average Nigerian know that any car can develop issue on or before two years. Toyota, Honda, etc. There are countless number of recall of thousands of cars by global brands. Innoson is our own in Nigeria, we are and should be ready to support the firm to attain global brand. Indeed we should be proud that it just a complaint out of thousands that have been sold. I however consider the response on customer care handle of Innoson rude. That complaint should be turned to a marketing campaign opportunity, repair or replacement the faulty part for free and then tell the public his matter had been resolved and encourage him to spread the good news again through the same platform he used to complain. Innoson, my Prayer is that I will have money one day to buy made in Nigeria car and that car is Innoson. Why?Am am Proudly a Nigerian, I identify with made I Nigeria products and sincerely wish Innoson well. Go and conquer the global market! |
The total naira value of project allocated to Kano state alone is more than the entire South East. Am from middle belt but I feel very uncomfortable with this figure. What is that special about Kano? The landmass, Abacha LG or the questionable population? Mr president, we have to be more sensitive to the cry of every member of this Union called Nigeria. If we are not happy with the activities of IPOB etc, we should at least prove them wrong that Nigeria belive in equity. |
DIFY20:It is obvious that you have been using a term you don't know the meaning wrongly just to satisfy your tribal sentiments. First, the term used is Afonja not Ofonja. Second Afonja is a title of a war general that was sent on exile from Oyo for losing a battle and he went to settle down at a place which eventually evolve to become the present day Ilorin city. I will therefore implore you to always use the words you know when writing for the public to read. |
Laird:Please ask CBN Governor that gave the loan. We don't have to reduce every discussion in this forum to sectional debate. We respect our farmers from Ebonyi state, no effort should be spared to support all sections of this country |
Pavore9:Someone should help us draw the attention of the Hon. Minister of Agriculture to this tread and above comment. If truly the opinion of the Youths counts in this country, the SA to the minister should advice him to respond to our comments. |
Tell your friend to go for registery wedding and invite the pastor to the reception. At the reception, he should remember to thank the pastor for helping him to cut down the cost of wedding. The pastor's action has NO Biblical backing. Tithe is a a transaction that is strictly between you and God how the pastor want to get involved is not only questionable, it is an embarrassments to Christianity. I read about tithe and offering box in the Bible when Isreal want to rebuild the Temple, but search the Bible you can't see anything like tithe card. We use tithe box in my church and during my wedding my church gave my wife and I cash gift in a sealed envelop without asking any question about my tithe history. Please ignore the pastor and let him know if he is not careful you will take the matter to public domain. |
Agunna1:Although am not a lawyer but from my knowledge as a professional in another field, if your mother has the marriage certificate that implies she is legally married, then the first 30% of your late father's property belongs to her, since your father died inestate. So take the death certificate and let her approach the high court for Letter of Administration. Then let your lawyer do the rest. Since the illegitimate guy decades to behave to his status, he will soon realise his stupidity. |
["So Kogi State is now Yoruba ". The answer to the above is YES. Although only part of Kogi is Yoruba. The fact is about 50%of Kogi State should actually be part of SW and Yoruba. In geography, river is suppose to be a natural boundary and international Rivers like Niger and Benue for that matter were ignored by IBB to create a state to the benefits of North. This explains why the state is always in confusion. If a Southern Nigeria military leader carved part of the landmass North of Niger and made it part of SW or SE, do you think the arewa people would allow it? SO FOR THE RECORD, PART OF KOGI AND Kwara are pure Yoruba speaking people. quote author=kaziblake post=47651032]so Kogi state is now yoruba
|

I commend your effort. May I say some of us are reluctant to play the Danfo man advocate because of their recklessness and utter disrespect for passengers. Unfortunately the lastma appears to be clueless on how to handle them or have been blinded by greed pushing them to look for every opportunity to extort the drivers. LASTMA should have device for testing use of hard drugs and alcohol on the road, this will help them separate the good from the bad instead of looking for one fading route number. Also Nigerian should push for enactment of bill that will make it criminal for security officer to forcefully collect camera or telephone from passengers. |
Abiriba1stson: If the above are not qualify to be regarded as Igbo leaders, then who are your leaders? Am not Ibo, but I sincerely love love my Igbo friends for many reasons. However, the continuous lack of unifying leaders is a major issue for the tribe and by extension Nigeria. |
Okijajuju1:It appears you are indirectly condemning the woman that was gruesomely murdered by blood thirty miscreants and their so called Imam? Remember that in most part of Nigeria we have noise pollution all over. Indeed the noise pollution from mosque speakers early in the morning is worse than the early morning preaching of individual Christian preacher on the street. The fact is our Government have failed us. How do we explain where some carry out an action unrestricted and the other are murdered for similar action? Am sure the Sultan and Muslim Council will not support this barbaric act. Nobody can win a religious war. Let's stop them before it snowball into another Boko Horam!!! |
I feel compelled to respond to this sensitive issue, because something just proped the thought within me that the elder sisters that have igniting the crisis does not wish your wife well. Unfortunately, she is not wise enough to read the handwriting on the wall. If I may ask, what are the situation of the two elder sisters'family. Could it be they are jealous of their sister? What is the relationship between the father and mother of your wife like? Has your mother in-law been a domineering type? |
Benart:Can you give us an idea of the market price and where one can go to buy it in Lagos? |
Op, I understand that even if a prospective buyer want to conduct land search at land bureau in Lagos that it is possible to fall into the hands of fraudsters? What should a prospective buyer do if he is interested in searching the title history of a land before making financial commitment and not be at the risk of being swindled by agents of land grabblers that has been planted in ministry of land/land bureau to cause confusion? Secondly, at the point of making paymen, especially for land whose value is huge, what are the precautions to be taken to ensure that contract of sale is genuine or change of ownership is immediately effected at land record office. Finally, upon the expiration of the 99years ownership, what can the current title holders do to retain ownership? |
