When people say someone has excelled as finance commissioner, they usually point to increases in IGR. But an increase in IGR accompanied with a borrowing binge - the latter magnitudes bigger than the former - is financial recklessness. This is what she achieved in Ogun state and this alone made her unsuitable for the role.

I suspect that a lot of decisions attributed to her is actually down to political pressure: whether under Amosun or Buhari. But a craven disposition to be a yes woman is not a feature suitable for a finance minister/commissioner.

NOI was minister of Finance and Head of Economics Management Team. Was she able to prevent the current recession by making reasonable savings for the country?

That said, Ortom is just as confused as they come (apologies to Kyase). He should be more concerned about fixing rural roads whuch are in terrible state of disrepair, like the Achoho-Oju road. Drive down that road once and you end up at the mechanic's spending a fortune fixing your car, and there are dozens other such roads in the state.

Let him fix the roads, fix the state workers salaries and then prepare to retire to running Oracle group of companies from 2019, because no one is gonna retain him in the government house.

You see what we keep saying here. The ignorance of some members of this forum is simply appalling. Some idiotic miscreants who never venture out of their immediate surroundings sit their ignorant bum in front of their first generation symbian abacus phones and type crap all over the net. They imagine Benue state is predominantly Muslim or Hausa while these people don't even make up to 1% of the state population.

The only place you can find a good number of indegenous Muslims in the state is the Agatu axis- just about all Muslims in the state are "immigrants" (if I'd call them that).

Someone tell these kids that the world is a lot bigger and intricate than they imagine. They should learn to go out every once in a while to interact with outsiders- it would do their brains a whole world of good.

When people get the full picture of what had been happening in jigawa, this doesn't seem like that much of a bad policy, in fact it's an old one, left uncompleted by the old government.


All the mosques in the state were built in the 90s, they have all rot away, Jigawa is usually a travelers passing state, with people going from kano to Maiduguri or otherwise(bauchi, jos, katsina Niger republic etc) camping there to pray and refresh, spend the night, etc but the conditions of the mosques are bad, if done in a nice way, these mosques won't just be places of worship, but hubs of business and interaction and scholarship, stops for travelers etc.

Our problem is we view things from prisms that blind us.

In western countries they have gas stations With motels on highways at strategic locations, why can't we have that too, and since our religions require us to pray more than we use the toilet, even on journeys, we combine the two.

But it's easier mocking the whole thing, and assuming that the government is not working on anything else.
