oil was over $100, oil production at 2.2M barel/day and we had monies in dollars flowing through banks and people did have cause to hoard dollars to exchange at higher rate. The excess on the dollars that was to be save incase of recession was shared among the government bodies cos they thought the affluence would last forever. This is the case of living in affluence and spending monies anyhow thinking hard times will never befall u. And when the inflow of monies stops or reduces u will not be able to manage ur expensive life style and become broke cos u failed to save and live within ur limits. There are musicians and sportsmen u can make examples of Mike Tyson, Mc Hammer, Micheal Jackson before his death became broke, Our own Daniel Amokachi and host of others.

Under PMB
Oil fell to $30, militant depleted the production to 1.4M barel/day, becuase we didnt save during the raining days our reserve couldnt withstand or expenses, The flow of government monies through the banks stopped, looters were afraid and took their monies away from the bank to hide their ass, and Nigerians as we know took advantage of it and hoard the dollars to make it scarce and maximize their profit.

Conclusion
If we were still under GEJ and oil prices fell to $30 p/b while still producing at 2.2M b/d, and with the excessive looting and spending, do u still think dollars will be N170 or even N500 with their lavish lifestyle?

Remember the words of Sanusi when the alleged $20 Billion dollars was missing and the looming economic crises after 2015 if nothing was done.
Recession was inevitable whether under GEJ or PMB. The policies of PMB has it flaws and people around him are corrupt but with the way things are now we can see our past mistake and ways to correct it even after PMB leaves office, our eyes are open now and we can see those who led us to this. This has become very important because foreigners flipping through this forum will likely develop wrong impression about Nigerians. Secondly, such attitude has often denied this forum of in-depth analysis of issues. Once a thread has been introduced, you see such guys introducing tribal, political or religious dimensions to the discussion thereby and the next thing will exchange of insults.

First, CAN must make it known to FG that recruitment into Armed Forces must be balanced between Christian and Muslim,and between North and South. In the circular, Dr. Kankara indicated that participation in clubs and associations, including departmental ones, were strictly optional and that no student should be compelled to pay dues.
He also outlawed the formation of tribal and local government associations in the university.
But the controversial part of the memo which made the document to go viral was the dean’s pronouncement that the “Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) is the only religious association allowed to operate on campus.”
After the memo was shared on social media, the university came under ferocious attacks from many Nigerians, with some commentators saying the guideline was part of government’s plot to Islamise Nigeria.
But when contacted on Sunday morning, Dr. Kankara said that aspect of the guideline was actually targeted at Islamic groups which were beginning to mushroom on campus, creating division among students of the same faith.
The dean said, “Actually there is one misconception in the memo. But the fact of the matter is that in Umaru Yar’Ádua University, there is no association known as Christian Students Association.


“There is one religious association and subsidiary Islamic students associations like the Tijjanniya Students Movement in Nigeria, Academic Forum of Islamic Movement in Nigeria and many associations like that.
“They are Islamic students association. So what we want is to have a single union which will be the mouthpiece of muslim students and that is the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria.
“It has nothing to do with any Christian group because up till now, I have not received any application requesting registration of Christian Students Society.
“And once they do that, we are ready to register them. Even as at last week, we said the two religious group to be recognised by the university will be the Muslim one and one from Christian side.
“Up till now we are to receive any application for the registration of any Christian association in the university from any group.”

Thank God for social media like Nairaland, when some of us talk about clandestine plan to Islamize Nigeria, some ill-informed will be saying we are alarmist.
The other day it was Jigawa state Government that budgeted billion to build mosque in major towns in the state, not a single Kobo to build a church, yet when churches build a worship centre they are quick to demolish it on the ground that the building was not approved, whereas underneath, they have frustrated every attempt to obtain permit. Now Katsina State want us to believe no Christian in the whole of the state that qualified for admission into the university, that is the reason why they don't have Christian Union?
The fact is not hidden, they want to strive to strangulate the practice of Christianity by all means and the few students that braved schooling in that kind of environment will only be at the risk of attack at the least provocation or subjected to academic persecution.
I only pity southern governments that are wasting their monies to build mosque whereas no single northern government will ever reciprocate such gesture.

I served in Jigawa state for one year immediately the state was created, to secure a place where we can meet for service, my church had to approach another pentecostal church to use their own make shift church building far away from the centre of the town where we lived because the state government will not allow us to even pray quietly in our house sitting security reasons, meanwhile the same security did not prevent them to locate mosques with load speakers all over the place?
Such Islamic agenda is not good for the unity of this country. Imagine if Anambra state should demolish mosque sitting failure to obtain approval? The Governor of Jigawa state should be subjected to security watch. He has pure Islamization agenda which is a threat to Nigeria unity.

I can't see how the churches have contributed to the economic dilemma of this country, I find it difficult to understand why you will not attack the government at various levels that have failed the citizens and be suggesting that the churches are responsible for the companies that are folding up? How has going to church increased laziness? Are the churches suppose to be creating employment for the citizens?
You want the government to stifle the growth of churches by imposing taxes? Whereas you have failed to challenge the government to properly account for the taxes it has been collecting over the years with the attendant poor infrastructure all over the place?

I don't know your tribe but clearly you are not Yoruba. You accused Yoruba of tribalism but you are clearly more tribalistic in your comment than an average Yoruba man.
