The Ga people have been saying it since time immemorial that they originated from Ile-Ife. Bini Kingdom does not exist anywhere in their ancestry. Stop the lies. Has the guy done anything illegal by addressing himself as such? If he likes, he can addressing himself as King of Chinese people in Ghana if he wants In Africa, you cannot use the title '' King'' when living as a foreigner on another King's land, without the customs, tradition, culture or law authorizing or recognizing you as such. Let him call himself the chairman or president or leader of Igbo Community (which may be subject to elections), but apparently he wants to hold the title for life that is why he is calling himself ''king'' by force by force |

Foreign Affairs › Accra Traditional Council Disowns Igbo ''king'', Bar Him From Using Title by mikeapollo(op): 9:39am On Jul 10, 2025 |
The Ga Traditional Council has issued a statement disassociating itself from the activities of one Eze Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, who is alleged to have been parading himself as the King of the Igbo community in Ghana. In a press release signed by Evelyn Amewotse, Registrar of the Ga Traditional Council, on behalf of the President, following an emergency meeting held on July 9, 2025, the Council—under the leadership of King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse—unanimously resolved that it has never recognized Dr. Ihenetu as a king within the Ga State and has no affiliation with any of his traditional activities. The Council emphasized that within the Ga State, the recognition of any traditional leader is subject to strict procedures, including formal registration in the National Register of Chiefs. It stressed that the Ga Traditional Council itself is a creation of statute, operating within Ghana’s legal framework. “The Ga Traditional Council disassociates itself from all activities of the said Eze Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu,” the statement read. “The Council has never recognized anybody or person as a King of Igbos within the Ga State.” The Council directed Dr. Ihenetu to immediately cease and desist from presenting himself as the King of the Igbo community in the Ga State or engaging in any traditional or cultural activities in that capacity. It also ordered all individuals appointed as Paramount or Divisional Chiefs by Dr. Ihenetu to stop holding themselves out as such within Ga jurisdiction. Furthermore, the Council declared that any traditional or cultural festivities organized under the banner of importing Igbo culture, and presided over by Dr. Ihenetu in his claimed role as Igbo King, should cease with immediate effect. “We Ga people are peaceful and welcome all tribes, communities, and nationals into the Ga State, on the condition that they respect Ga traditions and customs,” the statement affirmed. franchasng: It's really funny.
It's not as if the so called Igbo cultural and traditional leaders in their communities are forcing them to pay tax or follow Igbo culture or dragging land with them oh. Every square meter of land an Igbo man own outside Igbo land, he legally bought it from the owner yet after selling lands to Igbos when they are in need, instead of being grateful, they will turnaround to start attacking and malign Igbos for buying lands from them to build and contribute to the development of their communities which they don't ever do for us in our own Igbo region but will rather give one million reasons why they can't invest in Igbo region, odiegwu oh So you think that when you buy land from someone, the person should be grateful to you because you have done him a favour? Is this how you think? And when they refuse to sell the land to you, you still complain that they hate you that is why they refused to sell to you? Buying land in another man's village or country does not mean you must not respect and obey their laws, heritage, culture, tradition etc. Know this and know peace, or no peace, whether in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Lagos, Kano, Enugu etc. |

franchasng: There is Eze Ndigbo na London.
There is no justification for this pettiness at all, it's shameful for we black Africans.
There is no big deal in this thing, they are making the said man unnecessarily popular There would be no problems at all if he calls himself ''Nze Ndigbo'' of Ghana! Nobody in Ghana would worry if he calls himself ''Eze Ndigbo'' or ''Oba Yoruba'' or ''Sarkin Hausa'' because the Ghanaians don't necessarily understand what those words mean in the local language. And he could also introduce himself as the ''Leader'' or ''Head'' or ''Chairman'' of the Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa community etc. But once you add the English title ''King'', then it creates a different meaning entirely because issues of kingship, kingdoms, land, heritage, are very sensitive because of the peculiar attachment to history, culture, tradition, kinship tussles, kingdoms etc. There cannot be two ''Kings'' or ''Roya Majesty'', or ''Royal Highness'' in the same village/town in most places in Africa, no matter how honourary the title may be. It is an affront and a disrespect to the real king of the land, his people and their culture and history. People must learn that in Africa, a ''king'' very is dear to his people and a symbol of unique identity of the people and their ownership and dominion over the land they occupy We cant just export everything we do at home to another man's country. We have to learn where to draw the line. |

franchasng: It's a culture. Oyimbo even join Igbos in celebrating it in different European countries, Asian countries, Australia, New Zealand and America. Go on Facebook and watch the videos, very entertaining, only black Africans now see it as an attempt to dominate and take over their land which started from Yorubas.
It's social media that spread it and other black African countries are now copying the Yorubas out of black people's insecurity and foolishness.
Those title carry no weight, they are just ceremonial and it's just among the Igbos communities.
If Igbos do something wrong outside Igbo land, I will be the first to call them out but this very issue is not one of such. They are making unimportant thing to look so important.
There is a popular adage in Igbo culture which the whiteman also collaborated right from colonial era; Igbo enweghi Eze (Igbos have no king)
Igbos don't have much reverence for traditional rulers and title holders like the Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, etc. Igbo title holders are mostly ceremonial, they carry no weight or influence among Igbos, only few who are first class kings of ancient Igbo kingdoms carry some level of influence but not compared to that of Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, etc, it's a cultural thing.
So this news is borne out of envy, jealousy, envy and unjust hatred towards a people trying to promote their culture outside their ancestral community to give their people a sense of belonging and cultural identity, it is nothing more than that.
I am sure the only thing the Ghanaians are angry about is the said man's purchase of plenty hectares of lands he said he wanted to use to build an Igbo community in Ghana to promote Igbo culture; as insecure black people, they found it intimidating that Igbos want to take over their community, and this they learnt from Yorubas via the social media which makes local news and events to travel globally within seconds in this our generation. Dont compare the culture and tradition of the white man with that of Africa. There are no kingdoms in most European countries, except a few like K, Netherlands etc. Can anyone go to UK and call himself a ''king'' or ''queen''? In Africa, once you call yourself a ''king'', it means you have ''kingdom'' |

Peter Obi defeated Tinubu in a 3-horse race in 2023 and will defeat him again in 2027. Tinubu was not the president in 2023, so all of them were on equal footing.. Now as president, Peter Obi cannot defeat Tinubu because Tinubu will use all the money and powers of the presidency to get some good votes in the north, unless there is a strong northerner to counter him, especially Atiku An Atiku/Obi ticket will defeat Tinubu hands down in 2027. |

If yes, why do you not top up as you get periodic investment funds? Top up makes better sense if the price is reducing and the particular stocks is becoming cheaper, so that your average cost price per unit will be less and your percentage gain will be higher. If the price is increasing, then top up would increase your average cost price per unit and your percentage gain will be lower. |

AustineE1: They are learning from Yoruba's,spreading tribalism allover Africa....the next moment,Ghanaians will start behaving like south Africans, they will start carrying out xenophobic attacks. That's why whites are almost always ahead of blacks,in USA and other western countries, there are Igbo kings(Eze ndigbo),Yoruba Obas, sarkin Hausawa and a whole lots of other communities with their various forms of leaders. Guess what, they welcome you and try to learn the positivities from your culture, they even mark out days to celebrate those cultures that has contributed alot to their society. But black man is just an insecured animal and when the white comes around, they almost worship them but detaste their fellow blacks. Bob Marley called it 'mental slavery'! Have you heard any Yoruba ''Oba' claiming to establish a ''kingdom'' in a foreign land? He can call himself ''Eze-Ndigbo;' because the Ghanaians would not care because they don't understand the meaning. But the moment he claims to be a ''king'' with a ''kingdom'' in another man's country and goes about calling and introducing himself as ''King'', there will be problems because their country is governed by laws. In Africa, the title ''king'' is taken seriously because we respect our history, culture and heritage. It cannot be bastardized everywhere just because it has been bastardized by some people in Nigeria. It even becomes more difficult with the wave of criminal activities that are traced to Nigerians in their country |
Politics › Re: Ghanians In Tears As Igbo Man Names Himself King by mikeapollo: 11:23am On Jul 08, 2025 |
Bendeco02: This has been trending on Tiktok for like a week now. Men behaving like women.
In the East, we have yoruba king and communities yet we don't feel insecure.
If you see some yoruba people comment in the ghanians posts you will understand how far these people hate Igbos. They are pushing Ghanians not to take it gentle with Igbo, they should pursue Igbos, same thing they did on South Africa issue with Nigerians because they know majority of Nigerians there are Igbo.
Those Ghanians are funny
When an outsider see how yorubas cry about Igbos and support anything negative against Igbo, the person will be convinced that Igbos are dominant and stronger than them even without coming to Nigeria. They don't know they indirectly shows the world how weak and insecure they are. He can call himself the leader of a particular tribe or people or even the president of an association But it is just so disrespectful, nauseating and stupid to proclaim yourself a ''king'' with a ''kingdom'' in a foreign country! In Africa, the use of the title ''king'' comes with serious attention and implications. Who made him king? Does he know that the laws of Ghana recognize only only chiefs? On whose lands does he want to be king, and by what authority? This is how we disrespect the real traditional authorities and rulers of a place and create problems for every other person, just because of the insatiable quest for dominance and authority in another man's land. There are so many people from different countries living in Ghana and no is causing this kind of problem. It even becomes more difficult with the wave of criminal activities that are traced to Nigerians in their country |
