rka1: Why don't you grow up? Just your comment that Nigeria has never been in any full blown war makes you look really silly. I mean really silly.

You have neglected to read anything posted in reply and continue to repeat the same allegations.

By your Hollywood reasoning, SA will defeat Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Brazil etc. as they haven't been engaged in dog fights, sunk enemy shipping nor been involved in tank battles.

Even countries like Spain, Italy Portugal have no modern combat experience of which you talk about above. Even SA hasn't fought any recent wars and the experienced SADF personnel have long since left.
Did you read what I was replying to? Answer this is: Is Nigeria battle hardened or not.

now, who has the best artillery 155mm gun in Africa ? Nigerian army

who has the best combined total artillery weapons numbers and sophistication in Africa after Egypt ? Nigerian army again.

Africa's best and World's best 155mm artillery gun is Nigerian Army's makossa dancing deadly Bofors F-77 B05 L52 artillery guns

.
The best artillery follows 1. Denel G5 and G6(both are combat tested) 2. German Phz200 155mm howitzer(combat tested) 3. Archer 155mm Self propelled howitzer(Not combat tested) 4. Denel G7 105 howitzers(not combat tested).

rka1: Nigeria now producing armoured vehicles

November 10, 2013 by Oyetunji Abioye 27 Comments

Armoured vehicles

AS interest in armoured luxury cars rises among the upper class, some Nigerian auto firms have intensified research work on the armouring technology.

Already, an indigenous automobile manufacturer, Proforce Limited, has commenced the production of Armoured Personnel Carriers.

Proforce said it had sealed a pact with Defence Industries Corporation and some para-military organisations for the production.

The Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, is currently facing criticism for allegedly forcing the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to buy two armoured cars for her.

Wealthy Nigerians and top public office holders import a number of armoured vehicles.

The Managing Director, Proforce, Mr. Ade Ogundeyin, said in a statement obtained on Friday that his firm was currently working with the Defence Industries on the APCs, just as he stressed it was equipped to armour other categories of vehicles.

He criticised the idea of importing armoured vehicles, saying it did not make economic sense for Nigerians to continue to import what was available locally.

“There is no need for government or anybody to import bulletproof or armoured vehicles. It is a waste of resources.

“Why import at very high cost when there is capacity to produce better vehicles at comparatively lower prices locally? This is an issue I hope the new auto policy will address.”

Ogundeyin said the armouring materials were resistant to AK-47 gunshots and assaults with improvised explosive devices, stressing that the vehicles would run on special flat tyres that could endure several kilometres of journey even when deflated.

The Proforce boss also expressed support for the recently developed auto plan, describing it as one of the best policies of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration.

He said if fully implemented, the document was capable of boosting industrial activities in the sector and contributing towards the achievement of government’s targets for the economy by 2020.

He aligned with the thrusts of the new auto policy, which were to encourage investment, enhance technological development and revive production activities in the industry.

Ogundeyin said, “This is a laudable plan which is capable of transforming the local industry. The impact will be felt in many ways, including the establishment of many small- and medium-scale support industries, job creation and increase in capacity utilisation.

“But a lot will depend on whether government has the will to fully implement the policy, especially the area that concerns their agencies or departments buying locally made vehicles. Another critical area that requires firm action on the side of government is the one that introduces stiffer tariff structure for fully built imported vehicles.”

NaijaPikinGidi: Unfortunately, you are talking to a better informed and more knowledgable audience on this thread! SANDF were led in battle by the FEARLESS Tanzanian and DRC armies as vanguard forces against the M23. It is a well known fact that your cowardly SANDF were afraid to die hence they hid in the back rows of the battle lines. Thanks to the Ukrainian and Indian forces for saving your ugly behinds from M23 humiliation.
Since you're informed tell me on which of the three fronts(West,North and South) was the SANDF led to battle?..India is didn't fighting in this one. Ukraine hinds bombed supply lines that were being spotted by the Recces......One shot from the Rooivalk!!! Rebels flee into Uganda and announce the ending of their rebellion even leaving 122mm howitzers and army vehicles from Rwanda. Recces led in the battle. Providing FARDC with intelligence about the enemy. And oh it was Colonel Ndala Mamadou's men doing the hardest fighting not Tanzania nor the FIB. Who trained Ndala?

NaijaPikinGidi: Until you can tell us why your cowardly SANDF will successfully fight and defeat a tested and multi-battle/war hardened NA, it is abundantly clear that you thrive so well in childish talk. You talk baselessly!
Answer this: Where was NA tested in combat?...Which combat hardened NA,cause NA has never been to any full blown war?........The list continues 1. Which country between Nigeria and South Africa has sunk a submarine and warship? 2. Which country between the two,has ever been experienced a tank battle 3. Which country's air force has ever been involved in a dog fight and downed jets. 4 Which country has more combat kills(on armour) 5. Which country faced an enemy with SAMs,howitzers, jets,APCs,MBTs and MRLs 6. Which country has more experience/faced with other's equipment/arsenal in the battlefield.....If there's no Nigeria in your answers JUST remove that "combat tested/hardened" words in your post!! Call me Mike...Facts!!!! GET IT?......GOT IT?

both pilots of both jets will die same day. fool !
It is good that both pilots will die the same day. Cause South Africa would still have 14 Gripens to keep the fight going, and Nigeria's small fleet of 12 F7 jets will eliminated. meaning Nigeria ground forces will totally be a roast.

since we both have no proofs, then this forum hereby downgrades both nigerian Bofors F-77 and south african G6 artillery guns to range 40km for base bleed shells only.

50/50 no cheating, equation balanced

.
40km? The G5 has a range of 50km. Remember this is only the L/45,now calculate what range the L/56 will reach. The G6 gun is modified a bit. www.africandefence.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/G5InfographicFinal.jpg

nigeria has a very modern computerized Bofors F-77 artillery to match anything from south african G6 artillery.

south africa has NO 67km range shell for G6 artillery, no proof, no source, so no one accepts that you have it in your army. that V-LAP long range shell is only inside DENEL test laboratory and workshop store room hoping to find a buyer without any luck yet grin

.
Nigeria doesn't have targeting systems like drones, meaning your artillery range is useless against camouflaged targets 40km to 50km. South Africa produces a wide range of shells during the bush war propaganda dropping shells were used, even radar screening shells. The F7 will be dog fighting the Griffin?so your military ports will be destroyed all equipment used to offload heavy cargo will be in flames, after an attack by SAN with the Rooivalk launching from the SAS Drankenburg. Without an air force to protect the skies over your scorpion tanks, they will be destroyed by air strikes. Nigeria is equipped to fight rebels not well armed and supplied countries. Your lack of proper air force can easily be exploited by any experienced General.

NOT only south african military alone fighting M23 rebels. fool cheesy

.
Only the SANDF,TPDF,FARDC and MDF were involved in the fighting. Other armies are just normal peacekeepers. The SANDF superior training is shown by no SANDF has been killed yet. And only Ukraine,DRC and South Africa were using helicopters for air attacks.

south african vulture drone CANNOT see a target from a distance 200km away, it is the travel and range of flight that is 60km to 200km, called mission radius. for jets fighters, it is called combat radius.

http://www.unmanned.co.uk/autonomous-unmanned-vehicles/uav-data-specifications-fact-sheets/vulture-unmanned-vehicle-uav-specifications-data-sheet/

your vulture drone CANNOT see any nigerian army artillery 200km away, okay ? papa ajasco grin

.
The vulture can operate within a range of 200km. That doesn't mean it will see your artillery at 200km,the drone can operate within that range at different heights meaning during a recce ops Nigerian artillery position can be located within its 200km range of operation. Your artillery men soon turning into prey, for South African G5,G6 and G7 which will be closing in within their effective fire range. The SANDF still has the Ratel EAOS. Nigerian artillery will fire at any direction with hope of hitting a G5/6 and G7 since.

Nigeria can't fight the SANDF on land and at sea at the same time. Your stup1d simulation only proved it,by taking all your air force to fight a single Valour class frigate. Your army at field would be harassed by the South African air force.

chris365: dude, i'm not a Hollywood actor so i don't know how to involve in your movie scripts. you can keep fantasizing if you want sha o undecided
Problem is you didn't follow the FARDC and FIB ops. After the Kibati battle M23 just easily melted away from their positions when they heard FARDC's vuvuzelas blowing or leave a few rebels to fire several shots and run. They even cut down trees and burned cars and a bridge to stop FARDC's and UN's assault on their last held town. You can tell us what happened if you know!!! Instead jumping "nyollywood nyollywoood"
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:47pm On Nov 06, 2013
rka1: Mr Hollywood. You seem to think you are the only ones who can re-arm/re-strategize in a short period of time. You have an inflated opinion of the current SANDF. Talk to me about the SADF of yesteryears, I will bother to engage you. Now that is a FACT.
The SANDF is combination of former enemies from the bush war. Bringing in massive knowledge and experience, most of the mechanised units commanders are from the SADF. Re-arming won't be about jets, new MBTs and frigates cause those take years to produce and train crews. Nigeria would buy the cheapest stuff from the Chinese market. It is worth mentioning that the Patria MCV is currently the best IFV,which SA can field if founds were made available. Again it is worth mentioning that the G7 is the best 105mm howitzer in world.

NaijaPikinGidi: Noisemaking trash! Make I pass jare! angry angry angry
Oh I know you meant "heartbreaking for my country" instead of noise. MR JARE deliver facts please. Nigeria can't fight the SANDF in the sea and on the land at the same time. Meaning heavy weapons(tanks,IFVs,SP howitzers and jets) coming by sea won't reach Nigeria, cause SAN will blockade your seas. GET IThuh? YOU GOT IThuh?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA:
chris365: err!!! seleka that you ran away from, Liberian and sierra leon rebels, al-shabaab.

rwanda started withdrawing their support for m23 before the intervention brigade fired their first shot. why won't it be over fast when their line of support has been cut. do you understand the principles of war at all?
Oh Nigerian scam artist you think you're fool1ng who?. Rwanda's support stopped/halted after the Kibati fighting when SANDF recces(special forces) operating behind enemy lines, and managed to find their supply lines. The UN using Ukraine's Mi-24P bombarded their supplies, since then the UN used the Oryx for reccon missions towards the boarder. That's where weapons supplies ended. After that August operation Rwanda only recruited civilians for the M23.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA:
chris365: please stop trying to make me laugh grin

Nigeria holds military drills every year and we just upped it this year by involving world military powers.

the only reason M23 was defeated is because it's backers (Uganda and rwanda) backed down due to western and UN pressures. without support, they are just another rag tag rebel group and would be easily defeated. FACT

their previous victory was proof of rwandan army involvement.

i repeat, it's nothing to brag about cos they were choked politically before you sent you scrap to engage them. engage a demoralize force and they are just another target practice..Fact wink
Stop lying to your self. M23's defeat come as a result of the Kibati battle, where M23 was heavy damaged by the UN FIB(SANDF and TPDF) artillery and mortars. After the SANDF unleashed its famous Recces(note only a platoon is deployed) on them,no M23 commander has been seen public. The M23 held an area advantage they even had machine guns 2 or so kilometres away from the SANDF base in Munigi. But we all know what followed a clear 2km sniper shot.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 7:18pm On Nov 06, 2013
zaandrew: Let me put it this way. When was the last time nigeria had a large scale milltary ecersize with focuses on covenstional war where your Tanks, IFV arty extra could be used?

Next nigeria may not have fought a convesniol war but it has never been at peace.

Last. M23 rag tag rebel force? They a dissplined, well trained, experianced milltary force. They used Tanks, arty, Anti aicraft guns, had standized uniform, held phiyscal terrortory, used radios and were a dangourus threat.
M23 looted a lot of weapons when they pulled out of the city of Goma. Some ammunition stocks were carried back to Goma this week from captured positions. But after the Rooivalks proved their philosophy of "not to be seen, and able to detect and fire first",the M23 simply realised that they were indeed facing with the "flying devil" and surrender was their only option.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 7:03pm On Nov 06, 2013
drag_on: The L52 is fully tested, but Bofors has a serious issue with India over a Bribery scandal much worse than your countries arms procurement scandal, they were blacklisted for a long time and the indian Army had issues maintainig their Gun,hence i think they started their own project. The blowout of the scandal continues but India is restarting relations with Bofors,
This year India "unbanned" Denel.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 7:01pm On Nov 06, 2013
zaandrew: SA has not been to war 23 years and in 2 months 24 years hence non of our new weapons have been shot at. And I am pround of that fact war should not be celebrated. M23 had heavier wepaons but abbdon most of them during the FARDC attack witch is somthing SA can be proud of. Since many of those solders including senior officers where trained by the SANDF.
Colonel Ndala was trained by the SANDF. The M23 didn't abandon all its heavy weapons. They had anti craft guns, last week they fired 122mm artillery shells. Leaving some people to say Rwanda might have intervened to help their puppets. A lot of their heavy equipment were destroyed some of their tanks were knocked out by Tanzania artillery fire. Precise counter mortar by SANDF mortar teams left them with most of their mortars systems destroyed.

agaugust: thanks bro.

all the 3 countries (sweden, india, nigeria) Bofors F-77 B0 L52 users have upgraded their artillery guns to 60km range.

nigeria is said to have about 77 units of the guns, but it seems only 48 units were upgraded, as my new source gave only that number.

secretive nigerian military, loves to hide their capability.

.
Nigeria has 48 systems but only 16 remain in service though, but a lot of "military people" say the remaining ones are in storage.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA:
agaugust: hahaha grin grin grin

so you have now started shooting yourself in the head grin

i told you then that all these 60km or 70km long range artillery cannot target accurately from that long distance, but you kept arguing with me like a fool grin

now i post nigerian army 60km range artillery then you say the distance is too far for accuracy grin

were you not the one boasting here every week about how south africa used G6 artillery 60km long range to teach cuba a lesson in angolan bush war ?

now you confess like a witch about to be stoned, that the south african long range artillery was a waste of effort and time as it did NOT help you win the war or even stop cuba from almost defeating you.... grin

.
Since your knowledge about C2 systems can only be compared to that of chimps. Here's a lesson for you: The SANDF's vulture drone is a targeting system for "targets over the horizon",after a target is found around 200km(its range) artillery batteries will close in on the "prey" within 30km or 73km. The battery commander can decide to engage within 73km, HOW? The vulture drone(data link) will send the position of the "prey" to the battery command post, then this information will be transferred to the G6 systems which will download this information and the system will align its gun with the target. Then BOOM!!!!!! Shells starts falling...Nigerian artillery men panic and start firing in every direction with no success, cause the G6 is 67km away. READ about C2 systems IGBO BOY!!!!!!!!
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 6:04pm On Nov 06, 2013
agaugust: you are not even ashamed to post that kind of story, read what your own source said at the end of the story..... grin

"This is the first time Rooivalk helicopters have engaged in combat since the prototype’s first flight 23 years ago." grin

http://www.africandefence.net/after-23-years-rooivalks-fire-first-shots-in-drc/

you are boasting about south african rooivalk helicopters firing rockets against illiterate M23 rebels that have NO SINGLE anti-aircraft missile grin

M23 rebels 14.5mm gun is just like a boko haram weapon, you call that anti-aircraft gun ? are we in 1940 second world war era ? grin

fly that Rooivalk helicopter against ordinary Kenyan army and see how it will be shot down in 5 minutes grin

M23 rebels is now south african standard for testing military power.

soweto fools grin

.
You want me to prove that Nigeria still has world war 2 AA guns? Similar to the ones used by M23. The Rooivalk carries the most sophisticated EW sensors in all of Africa's attack helos to deal with SAMs. Your so called "FAT MAMAS"(HInds Mi-24/35) won't even dare try fly a sorti against an enemy with SAMs.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 5:36pm On Nov 06, 2013
agaugust: nigerian military have electronic warfare anti-jamming devices, etc, we just had a full scale modenization of nigerian air defences with India and Israel.

nigerian Roland missiles and Type 90 anti-aircarft artillery will shoot down all south african drones, helicopters and jet fighters.

F-7 jet will shoot down Gripen jet, or both shoot down each other and die together.

then nigerian MBB-339 jet fighters will use rockets in ground attack mode to wipe out south african G6 artillery guns.

GAME OVER grin

.
Read carefully while enjoying that yam igbo boy. Here's why South Africa will defeated Nigeria any time: Say the situation is where Nigeria is trying to invade South Africa like you love to say,the SANDF will respond with all its "arms"(Navy, army and air force etc). A retaliation by SAN(The South African navy) with frigates and submarines will cause your air force to remove fighter jets(your trusted F7) from the land to help in the sea. Leaving your army at the mercy of the South African air force multi role Gripens,Rooivalks, drones(target acquisition drones like the vulture) and Hawks. It will be simply a feast of the beasts, the international community will cry for SA to have mercy. With only 16 Roland launchers which can be destroyed at 40km by the Umbani PGM.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA:
agaugust: hey dude, the south african G6 artillery does not fire any standard-basic shell to 73km, its standard-basic is 30km about the same as nigerian Bofors.

both Bofors and G6 need rocket-velocity enhancement projectile to help them to 60km Bofors range and 73km G6 range.

however, the internationally recognized maximum range of the south african G6 artillery is 67km, the DENEL test of 73km is a private affair not yet proved and accepted by the global military world.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G6_howitzer

.
We are talking about Nigeria and South Africa here. Does Nigeria have rocket-assisted shells to reach 73km? NO!!!. For the knockout punch here's what Nigeria lacks READ carefully "Artillery STA
The role of STA artillery is to locate, track,
assess and where appropriate cue the attack of
hostile artillery, mortars, units and formation.
It provides commanders with surveillance and
targeting information across the battle space
and is always linked by a robust command-
