agaugust: since south africa is full of criminals in broad daylight...R.apists and Armed Robbers....all over your country, and Rhino Poachers are still de-horning Rhinos under your noses on your homeland soil with south african air force helicopter crashing down while pursuing Rhino poachers and your SANF military officers die chasing Rhino poachers....

....can we also conclude that south african police, rangers and military forces are weak too ? answer my question
shocked

.
Nope!!!! South Africa navy is now patrolling in your waters. That's how we flex our muscle again your face. We are talking about military stuff Mr police officer AKA Lord Seleka..........I bet our rangers are better trained than your soldiers, did you see the programme on Al jazeera?

Henry120: If you missed the last episode of the "war in october", a documentary by aljazeera on the "yum kippur war", it is definitely a "Shame" and very unfortunate.

Great un-biased documentary. I thoroughly enjoyed it all 3 weeks it was aired.
I wish august could watch it. And Learn how Israel was about to defeat an enemy with massive numbers.

Nigerian made Epe Rockets now in combat service....

there is 'insider' information that nigerian made Epe rockets have secretly entered combat service and is being used by nigerian air force jet fighters and helicopter gunships.

the rockets are of various sizes and ranges, which are also being improved and upgraded regularly as more research and development continues secretly at the Epe missile/rocketry/space/satellite site in a tightly secured and 'no public entry' Lagos waterfront area/island location.

the information from the 'insider' source says the air force has produced its own launchers for the air to ground rockets, while the army is working hard on its own launchers for the bigger and longer range ground to ground artillery rockets, surface to air anti-aircraft missiles versions, and also working with the navy to build land to sea versions in anti-ship missile modes, though source said the anti-aircraft and anti-ship versions will take a longer time to complete than the army ground to ground versions which will be ready likely next year 2014, while the air force version is already in full use and service having being configured by nigerian air force research institute for all combat aircraft to be armed with.

asked to provide some 'proof', the 'insider' source said ...."people have been seeing it but they dont know it is from that Epe site as the first version/model with a range maximum 10km or thereabout "...he then referred to the photo and link below...

Biafra,Sierra Leone,Liberia?.....Show me where your mechanised units fought a well organised enemy. Show me where your air force was engaged in a dogfight..........south Africa can defeat Nigeria any time, your ground forces will lack the capability to track South African armour on the ground and destroy.

Resorting to jokes again?......Your commanders have never seen burning fires of the African battlefield. Smell of burning armour(Tanks and APCs). US soldiers have tortured and killed terrorists and innocent unarmed civilians extra judicially, does that make them indesciplined? They are terrorists and deserve nothing möre than death.

AI can come and fight alongside them Cos we already know they are BH sympathizers.

Get your head out of the gutter and answer his question like a reasonable fellow
Soldiers who commit crimes in the USA army are put in military courts, and are then investigations taken. But your soldiers are killing and starving enemy combatants and this ill disciplined boys are not taken to military courts. Disciplined armed forces punish soldiers who commit any crime. .
You don't know a thing about the bush war. By saying "the 1987 bush war" only proves it well. What is known about the bush is: Every time when Cuban troops made contact with the South Africans they took heavy casualties. Ask what happened when tried to help their swapo brothers during the battle of cassinga. Or maybe ask about the Bridge 14 battle. Cuban troops or commanders had Soviet advisors,to make up for their ill experience, and received massive quality equipment from the communists.

rka1: Whether you like it or not, Biafra, Chad (Armourd corp under Buhari);

In 1983 Chadian soldiers invaded and took 19 islands in Lake Chad within Nigerian territory. The then Brigadier Buhari, who was the General Officer Commanding of the 3rd Armoured Division (which he did from November 1981 - December 1983) successfully carried out a blockade of Chad. After which all the territories were returned. The Nigerian Army under Buhari then pursued the Chadian Army as far as 50 km into Chadian territory. The 21st Armoured Brigade carried out the blockade and the fighting.

http://transparencyng.com/index.php/people2/116-politicians/3246-muhammadu-buhari-

Babangida oversaw the maturation and massive expansion of the Armored corps including huge foreign armament purchases, training opportunities and career development for upcoming junior officers and soldiers during the heydays of the late seventies and early eighties

[b]During the civil war the range of armored fighting vehicles was expanded to include the Fox, Saladin and Saracen family. The Inspectorate of Recce (led by an “Inspector”) evolved after the civil war into four Recce regiments (1, 2, 3, and 4Reconnaissance Regiments, respectively). Then in 1976/77 it matured into the Armoured Corps (led by a “Commander”) at a time of significant expansion of its range of Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFV) to include French Panhard AML 60s and 90s and light Tanks (like the British Scorpion CVRT).Armored Brigades were created in Enugu (21st), Ilorin (22nd), Bauchi (23rd) and Epe (24th) in the place of regiments. These have long since been reorganized.

Just after the civil war, the School of Armour was located along old Ife Road in Ibadan but moved to ‘Tank terrain’ in Bauchi sometime in October 1979.Later on, medium Tanks (like the Soviet T-55)and heavy Tanks (like the Vickers “Eagle” Main Battle Tank) were acquired.

http://www.waado.org/nigerdelta/nigeria_facts/MilitaryRule/Omoigui/PalaceCoup-1985.htm

Plenty of stories and photos out there in regard to artillery fire in SL & Liberia not to talk of during the civil war.

NAF Hercules as well NN LST's deployed thousands of troops to the above locations as well not to talk of the bombings carried out by Alpha jets in SL, Liberia and even the current onslaught against BH enclaves.

Special ops in Ivory Coast, Mali, NE Nigeria.

They are all too numerous to mention. if you really are that interested, google is your closest pal.
Biafrahuh The civil of mercinaries?......Nigerian armed forces. Have no conventional warfare experience. Your forces will be wiped out before your commanders can realise what's going on. Ask the Americans what happens when "overconfident and ill experienced" soldiers are thrown into combat against a experienced General and his men(soldiers).

rka1: Okay by me, that is the Nigerian army's bread and butter.
You say so? When did Nigeria fight any conventional war against a well organised and supplied foe with air force and navy!!!!! I'm talking blood and steal!!! Mechanised war, special forces......From artillery, tank battles, helicopter insertions, dogfights,EW,joint operations, supplies, armour camouflage and ground bombings.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 12:54pm On Oct 15, 2013
Hezron Lorraine: It looks bogus and intimidating.it's not as expensive as I thought.Nigeria may not really need it.

This is an enviable development.I believe with more fundings into this project,Nigeria is sure to develop world class missiles.the pieces have been falling into place, more attention has been paid to missile development in the country than before.
Scud missiles are known for being inaccurate. Gaddafi's forces fired a capable of them during the civil there, they're usually used to carry chemicals and can be a serious deterrent. But if you're facing an enemy possessing them it can be a nightmare if your air force is weak, cause you will have to hunt down and destroy this mobile launchers and destroy. The Coalition air force in Iraqi faced or did this. If not the enemy can keep throwing this things, while moving launchers constantly to avoid to counter battery fire or detection. Here's what I think about them included in African countries' arsenals: Since most sub-saharan African air forces are weak and our armies don't have GPS guided MRLS like most western nations, having them in your arsenal can prove as a serious deterrent to hostile nations. This is why the SANDF needs its long range powerful artillery pieces,to bombard fields, mechanised units, supplies, infantry and SAM locations filling the role of bombers.

Last updated: 4 hours ago
Amnesty International says nearly 1,000 people
with suspected Boko Haram links have died in
military detention centres.
The London-based rights group Amnesty
International is seeking an investigation into the
alleged deaths of hundreds of people in detention
facilities during a crackdown on Muslim groups in
Nigeria, saying it has evidence.
In a report on Tuesday, the organisation said that
"credible information" from a senior Nigerian
army officer indicated that more than 950 people
suspected of having links to Boko Haram died in
military custody in the first six months of this
year.
Boko Haram, an armed group, wants to topple
the Nigerian government and impose an Islamic
state, and has been responsible for thousands of
deaths.
Amnesty International said prisoners had been
suffocated, starved and subjected to extra-judicial
killings in the army-led operation in the country's
northeast.
It said senior Ministry of Defence officials had
not responded to written details about soldiers on
April 19 depositing 60 bodies at the main hospital
mortuary in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital,
claiming they were killed in a shootout.
But a source told Amnesty International they
were detainees taken from their cells and shot.
It said other detainees have suffocated and
starved to death in horrendous conditions.
The Nigerian army has consistently rejected
accusations of human-rights abuses."

Here are the facts: No matter where the Nigerian armed would meet the SANDF in a battle situation. Your army would perish under real fire, before your army can learn how to fight a conventional war. It will be wiped out SAAF.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 12:05pm On Oct 14, 2013
agaugust: hahaha grin

you still proved my points to be correct. umkhonto missile is ONLY tested and ONLY effective against aircraft or slow flying cruise missiles all in the air above the warship, NOT against a sea water skimming or hugging anti-ship missile like nigerian NNS Aradu Otomat anti-shi missile.

the sea skua test was umkhonto against a air flying drone aircraft, the banshee test in finland was also against an air flying drone aircraft.

"Banshee entered service with the British Army in the mid-1980s as an aerial target for the Short Blowpipe and Javelin shoulder launched anti-aircraft missiles"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meggitt_Banshee

my friend, get this into your head finally and finally, no missile developer with aim of using a missile to stop and anti-ship missile, will design that missile in vertical cell to first fly upwards in a wasted journey like the children of israel in the wilderness, then the defensive missile will start turning upside down again to come back to face the very ship that launched it and try save the ship from a sea water surface hugging Otomat anti-ship missile....use your head even if you dont like to do so, just try once in a while to think like a man that went to school, even if it was a soweto village classroom grin

see, nobody in the world has been able to stop an exocet anti-ship missile, reason why Argentina used it to sink a powerful British navy destroyer warship that has all the missile, electronic jamming, and heavy/light gun defenses in the world during falklands war. also American navy purchased Otomat anti-ship missile and tested it against US NAVY warships but the Otomat missile defeated ALL marican navy missile defences, then the whole world knew that NOBODY can stop and Otomat missile the messenger of death from NNS Aradu.

both DENEL and south african navy tested fired exocet missiles and umkhonto missiles SEPARATELY AGAINST DIFFERENT TARGETS but not against each other because DENEL was NOT bold enough to test umkhonto to stop a sea skimming exocet anti-ship missile because they know IT WILL FAIL and spoil their marketing over-rating business stragtegy grin

unkhonto missile CANNOT stop NNS Aradu Otomat sea water surface hugging/skimming anti-ship missile, nigerian navy will sink all south african navy warships from longer range 80km-180km. FACT PROVED 100 TIMES ON THIS FORUM.

.
Show us where Nigeria's Navy fired its otomat missile in Anger or test against a stealth ship. Point defence: The Umkhonto missile protects the ship from all sides, any missiles or bombs that bridge this can be shredded by the Denel dual purpose gun at range of 6km.

agaugust: maybe not in south africa, there are american civilians who were trained by ex-USAF combat pilots to fly privately owned jet fighters, and many of them have the combat skills taught to them on those jets, but they have never used it in war because they are civilians.

south africa is NOT an advanced country, remember.
Flying a fighter jet does not make one a fighter pilot. You can fly some fighter jets in Cape Town, people who wanna go supersonic around the world come here.

agaugust: i mean BVR AAM...beyond visual range air to air missiles.

PL-9C missile is as powerful as IRIS-T missile. PL-9C is the missile on JF-17 Thunder and the JF-17 is equal to a Gripen.

Nigerian air force pilots in real life war drills have tested our F-7 jets in dogfight combat air to air against Pakistan's air force and mighty China's air force a world super power, and we know how use all our jets and missiles perfectly.

nigerian military is just not in the same noise making newspaper self-advertisement and internet publicity marketing that south african military has decided to busy itself with for many years.

south africa has turned respected military things to become like ordinary police affairs.

Nigerian F-7 jet pilots after air to air combat drills in the air engaging the air force of Pakistan
The F7 is simply an upgrade of the MIG-21 jet. Which SAAF shoot down in Angola using cannons not missiles. Anyone can predict which fighter will win between F7 jet vs the Griffin.

agaugust: my senior bros, me i don tell una before before, make nobody rush conclude say na shekau true true, dem boko haram fit just dey 419 the whole world with that dem doubtful new video.

my own suspicion arose from the fact that boko haram is desperate to rebuild the falling morale of its followers when they knew their leader was either dead or mortally and fatally wounded by the mighty nigerian army.

the normal reaction of a belligerent force is to fake the re-emergence of a fallen leader to sustain morale of its fighters, these are simple war strategies....propaganda in a way...and south africa is very good at it grin

i doubted the validity of that video as being the real shekau because america was silent on it, because proof was lacking.

if it was the real shekau, america has a bounty on his head for capture and would have reacted immediately by renewing calls for his capture.

all the south africans who were shouting, laughing and claiming that shekau of boko haram is ressurected and alive, have been put to shame....as usual, you south africans have carelessly proved yourselves to be a bunch of 33% brain fools who cannot use their 'one third capacity' brains to think deep, judge and analyse a clouded situataion.

intelligence and brain power must be a very rare 'mineral resource' to find in south africa

i salute you nigerian army, you were mighty enough to get a close range shot and baptize the boko haram number one leader with bullets inside his own stronghold.

who has the best army infantry in africa ? nigeria !
South Africa has the best infantry. Even DRC commanders were begging the SANDF to take command. After showing precise counter mortar fire, snipers and disciplined soldiers. And infantry can perish in an instead if the commander lacks experience like Nigeria does. "An INEXPERIENCED commander lacks some nerve". You can ask the Americans this!!!
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA:
agaugust: everything about south african weapons technical details/specifications is available on free public internet....thats why civilians know how to sink your valour frigate from the air grin

nigeria too is confirmed to have a rockets/missile project with lost of test firing....technical details NOT freely given to public by the nigerian military....wisdom !

.
You can get ranges of almost all missiles on the internet. Nigeria doesn't have any operational missile, you still don't have launch platforms. And that simulation showed nothing but how stupi'd you're,you think your air force will remove jets from backing the army in the North?...To show how weak your navy is,the SAS Spioenkop(valour class) will be patrolling in the sphere of influence again.

It is called anti flash. Protecs you from fires. All crew have it at all times.

It is all so worn by profsnial race car drivers, fire fighters extra. Naval uniform is fire retardant so when you wear this only your eyes are open. When you combine it with the face mask of the CABA set and you protected from sudden flash of flames. Hence it is called anti flash.
Have seen the beautiful beas(Rooivalk painted white for the UN mission)t? Rebels in EDRC are about to eat some steal.

rka1: That is what war simulation is about. Recount please how may countries the world over have engaged in tank combat etc.? Does this mean they are going to be no good when it actually comes to real life tank warfare?

Your current crop of officers haven't engaged in real life tank warfare. Does this also mean they will be unable to engage another tank?

You also seem to think the Nigerian Army School of Artillery is just there for decoration or they don't know how to engage the enemy.

The Swedes from whom you bought your gripen jets, they haven't engaged in any dog fights. Does this mean they won't be able to or will be incompetent?

Please, I know we are all patriotic and want the best for our countries and like to blow our trumpets a bit, but lets not make baseless statements.
Yes,example being Israel through fighting that trained it tanks crews in long range gunnery. Why was the T-35 not effective in the hands of North Korean troops? But was feared when the Soviets were using it. 1. African countries are poor and we don't have massive supply capabilities. 2. Which is why it is crucial to develop tactics for the African battlefield which will only come from experience. 3. African air forces fighting capabilities can't be compared to NATO countries who host a lot of training exercises. 4. Dogfight tactics are developed from combat experience like Israel's "four fingers" 5. Nigerian artillery pieces are obsolete and what do they use to track and select targets?,South Africa uses drones, special forces and ratels to mention a few. Where did we learn all this? Yes THE BUSHWAR!!!!! 6. Do you know the current commander of the SANDF tank regiment? Read about his story. 7. Your army rallies on numbers against rebels, but that won't be possible faced with a technological advanced country like SA. 8. How dare you rank Nigeria above SA with that lack experience 9. Remember wars are not just about armies and Generals, economics and politics are involved. 10.If the prospect of war between SA and Nigeria was real both countries would rearm their forces. But Nigeria would lose a lot of money purchasing foreign made weapons and spares. Which are not fitted for the African battlefield and need a lot of supplies to be effective. Example being your MI-35 helicopter which needs an airfield to rearm and fuel, which will mean you gonna have to pull jets from going to the front lines to defend a airfield or anti aircraft missiles.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA:
agaugust: Gripen missile too can miss target.

No south african aircraft or ship can jam a nigerian ATR-42 Surveyor aircrafts NATO standard electronic warfare systems, i posted that with photos and sources early this morning...or are you an incurable m.a.d.m.a.n ? grin
What a foo.l South Africa won't jam a EW aircraft. They will jam your communication and radars before any mission. Bring the name NATO doesn't mean that system is world leading or the best in its class. All NATO 105mm NATO howitzers are out ranged by the AMLAGC(G7). NATO buys mine resistant vehicles from South Africa. NATO failed to detect a SAN submarine. ALL NATO MRLS are out ranged by the Russian smerch(with range of 90km). All NATO helicopter fired missiles are out ranged by the Mokopa missile. NATO doesn't mean "the best in its class". They just have massive funds, all their operations evolve around air power and technology(hacking and jamming). Vietnam defeated America and France because they couldn't use their air power effectively. South Africa is the only country in Africa that develops systems fitted for the African battle field. Less supplies, long distance, pack heavy fire power, less sophisticated support, situation awareness by your senior commander sitting your capital plus command and control.

agaugust: nigerian army, navy, and air force like any world class military is trained to fight against national armed forces of a country like south africa as enemy.

standard military training is to fight an enemy that has tanks, APC, artillery, jet fighters and warships.

if you think the world class American, British, and Nigerian military academies trained Nigerian military to fight only rebels and militants, then i think you should go for deliverance in church tomorrow morning .
Britain has never fought any full blown modern war in sub-saharan Africa. They trained South Africa but we perfected our fighting skills in the bush war,we now understand the African battlefield well. American trained troops in Africa have shown ill discipline on many occasions from Mali's. Coup leader to that DRC army unit which raped hundreds of girls. Without their(USA) air power most armies can defeat them. Your systems are not for the African battlefield. Where supplies or logistics can be a nightmare cause our air forces are not that powerful Don't you wonder why the SANDF always modify any foreign bought system to "africanise" it. Don't you wonder why the Rooivalk can refuel from drums out there among trees and rearm without the need for an airfield. Which are hard to defend,South Africa proved this even destroying planes on the airfield.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 10:33pm On Oct 05, 2013
rka1: Moving troops en masse is not a NORMAL THING. Not every one can do it. You forget that the Nigerian army from day one has been trained in conventional warfare with the use of tanks, artillery e.t.c.

In fact, it was against the grain to engage in counter insurgency/counter terrorism as the army didn't have enough trained personnel for that kind or warfare. The fact they have achieved what they have, given the sometimes inadequate equipment at hand, is simply incredible. They are now building an incredible counter terrorism/counter insurgency force to be reckoned with.
Show us were Nigeria artillery destroyed tanks,APCs,SAMs,infantry, fighter planes and airfields. Show us any tank battle by your army, which will be build base to your current tank commanders. Your achieve that stuff because you rally on numbers against disorganised rebels. Your army can be pinned down by artillery while sitting trying to bridge a minefield.
