agaugust: show us any war south africa has ever won in its historyWorld war 2. The biggest war mankind has ever seen. Answer questions with answers not questions like the dummy boy in a high school class. GET IT? |
agaugust: you are more like a street policeman in soweto since you dont know that nigerian Super Tucano is a special purpose COIN warplane that can fly from a cleared farm land where a Gripen jet cannot land or take off.If South Africa deployed its air force against seleka would fail have to validate what or what was said about SA soldiers in CAR. Which was protecting their base. Nigeria is no great, you're buying those planes to help with the failing operation against Boko haram. |
agaugust: nigerian palmaria mobile artillery entered service in Italy in 1982, while south african G6 Rhino artillery entered service in 1987, both guns are 1980`s generation and both have modern operational systems and almost at par in many aspects. palmaria artillery is still one of the best in the world and in service with NATO.The GV6 out ranges outclasses that palmaria SP howitzer. You think it will be easy to operate a tracked SP howitzer in Africa? With a bunch of land mines around?. The GV6 is legendary what fascinating is that only a small number has been deployed. BH STRIKING AIR FORCES BASES and AIR PORTS IN MAIDUGURI. NO GAINS SINCE MAY!!!!!!! Thousands upon thousands of your soldiers are failing to stop BH. |
agaugust: PL-9 missile is 4th generation, but nigeria has the improved version called PL-9C missile for our F-7 jets and it matches south african IRIS-T missile on Gripen jet, it is very close to A-Darta missile also.Don't you feel ashamed when you post a link that has words like " Almost from the beginning the PLA has relied on foreign technology, whether from the United States, Russia, Israel and now South Africa,"?. Nigeria doesn't eveb have that PL-10. Chinese missiles are a joke,I wonder why don't you think why the Chinese begging SA for missile and drone technology. The PL-9C is outclassed by the 5th generation A-darter. |
agaugust: congo DRC is NOT a war since you guys say nigerian action in liberia and sierra leone are not wars, so stop quoting anything about south african army in Congo DRCCongo is not a major war. No doubt about that, but read this quote which was in French now translated into English. "Gen Kayonga said that the RDF use to buy ammunitions from South Africa until their relationship became sour, ‘’they know all our ammunitions and so they are prepared to wipe us out if we continue to interfere in DRC issues.” Gen Kayonga highlighted that the FIB was shelling super quick rockets, delayed rockets, using BMS, new IFVs not like their old IFVs, “and with our soldiers meant to be assisting the M23 were dying like flies, would I have just kept quiet? The South Africans are more equipped with ammunitions to an extent of exporting weapons to the UK and USA now days, but we still believed that we could force them out with an AK47?” Gen Kayonga pointed out that the final war against M23 was planned by the South Africans for eight weeks and was finished in just six days that shows our weaknesses. Still our top commanders have no idea how dangerous this" |
agaugust: you are lost in your soweto villageSouth Africa doesn't need them. For COIN operations SA can buy the ARHLAC which would be cheaper to operate and carry the long range Mokopa missile. Regarding you claiming an edge over South Africa next year, this is the year South Africa receives the serious A-Darter AAM. SAAF will also be acquiring BVR radar AAM(Meteor AAM maybe). South Africa will soon be acquiring heavy lift transport planes Lockheed Martin has already been to South Africa twice this year. Your super tucanos won't have advanced recce pots like SAAF's lightening. Meaning they will be flying low to carry out strikes ,well the South African army is not an insurgent force they will be easily shot down by missiles or AAA. |
agaugust: every army in the world has Recce forces and Special forces, even Togo's army has it.Why don't you in detail tell us what happened in C.A.R?. Cause everyone knows SA SF fought in C.A.R and didn't take any casualty. Here's a quote which shows EW history and mission execution "At about 06h30, the ELINT/EW Douglas DC-4 became airborne and settled into a holding pattern just south of the border. At the same time, a flight of two Puma helicopters, under the command of Major John Church, took off from 'a jungle night-stop' to fly to a clearing 22 km east of Cassinga in order to set up a Helicopter Administration Area (HAA), where the helicopters used in the operation could refuel. On board the two helicopters were Commandant James Kriel, the commander of the South African Air Force's Mobile Air Operations Team (MAOT) and his signaller, as well as Major James Hills, commander of Bravo Company, 1 Bn, along with one ten-man section from the two Hawk Groups he would be using to protect the HAA. Also in the two helicopters were six 200-litre drums of helicopter fuel, and, to the consternation of Hills, the Chief of the South African Army, Lieutenant-General Constand Viljoen." |
agaugust: nigeria holds the strategic technological edge over south africa with our military spy satellites in space, we watch jacob zuma inside his swimming pool in pretoria, we see all your military forces moving around and we delete them before they know where nigeria is firing from.Spy satellites won't help you win a war. The Soviet union used them by those didn't have effect on the battlefield. They kept their eyes on waterkloof air force air base and warm their allies of imminent air strikes. Yes,South Africa fight as a bat but we all know bats catch insects precisely. Having those satellites without a real capable force on the ground is like a legless eagle flying over a rabbit. Not harmful at all!!!!!!!! |
agaugust: the only 5th generation jet fighter in the whole world is American F-22 Raptor. The F-7 Nigeria uses is a turkey. Tanzania recognised this and slaughtered this turkey a while ago. Nigeria has 12 F-7 jets which it can deploy at the same time. South Africa has mobile radars which it would use to warn helicopter pilots and intercept jets. SAAF can ambush your super tucanos like we did with Cuban/Angolan MI-24 hindsm |
agaugust: talks going on since 2012 for JF-17 Thunder between NAF and China. the jet is equal to a Gripen jet, but F-22 is a stealth jet and superior to JF-17I hate when you lie to your fellow Nigerians. Firstly you said the F-7 was equal to the Gripen multi-role jet. Now you're saying the JF-17? I bet it can't even take the retired Cheetah C. Even Zimbabwe has shown interest in those Chinese rust buckets. |
agaugust: your navy will perish if they enter nigerian waters, i wont repeat old posts/simulation of naval blockade. Here are the facts 1. The Nigerian navy can't fight withstand/fight its South African counterpart 2. The Nigerian air force can't fight or it is outclassed by the SAAF 3. Your army's massive numbers will be useless against a defence with proper air force. And I told before we are not talking about future stuff. I can say the valour frigates by then will be equipped with radar vision of the umkhonto with 80km range. But you'll say "that's a dream",so I'm calling this "we would reach South Africa next year" comment a dream. You think Angola,Namibia will let your navy use their ports knowing you're looking for a battle/trouble that would set their ports in fire?. South Africa has flexed its muscle on Nigeria's face many times. YOUR WARSHIPS WILL NEED SUPPORT SHIPS TO REACH DURBAN!!!! |
agaugust: keep making noises without facts to back it up.So that super tucano will take on a 5th generation Gripen?. Remember South Africa intercepted a Mozambiquean fighter pilots defecting to South Africa? |
rka1:SADF Generals, soldiers, pilots and special forces always stand ready to help South Africa. Even those who were sidelined during the integration, example being the former 32 battalion major general whom is heading operations in Kruger. Some are commentators at SANDF air shows, while some remain in the defence force. If South Africa was threatened they would be mobilised(those whom age still always them). |
drag_on: Your men fought for 13hrs, what were your pilots and generals doing? Sleeping?SANDF top command Generals were not sleeping. I can't remember the name of the base, but they were the ones whom refined the withdrawal plan. Wars or battles are difficult when politics play a major role in them. |
drag_on: If you are so brave/experienced why did you sit on your arses while your ground troops got butchered in C.A.R? Are your brave pilots afraid of AAA?The Rooivalk flew a mission against AAA. South African soldiers were protecting their base, sending fighter jets would have complicated the whole thing. What would have been the end game? Bomb seleka to their starting point at the North? |
Msauza: The SA Air Force is more experienced than its Nigerian counterpart. It was founded in 1920 and has seen more honours as compared to Nigerias, which was only founded in 1964.Andrew Beauchamp-Proctor was one amongst the best top 10 aces of world war 1. Nigerians were still planting yams to settle battles. |
drag_on: F7 are interceptors and we use alpha jets on the boko boys.Spare us, your jets dont fly, neither your pilots. If our jets can't fly then was black magic used to get them to Zambia? |
drag_on: Where were they while your gallant soldiers died in C.A.R.?They flew to Zambia and Rooivalks to the DRC. |
drag_on: The good thing about the s.tucano is that it can sit upon boko.haram for hours preventing them from moving while the alpha jets bomb them,if they attempt to move it will just bomb their position or straff them with cannon fire, its rugged nature allows it to operate from a very remote FOB.Boko Haram leaders know they can't fight Nigeria conventionally. You can't show up to a fight with a AK-47 or AKM hoping to defeat a man who will show up with fighter jets and IFVs. They're keeping up with how good guerillas operate: Show up do some damage and hide deep into some unknown area. If any country attacked Nigeria now,the security situation in the north would deteriorate and attack from BH would increase. Followed by massive protests. |
delvinmaya: actually you didnt, reading your posts reminds me of my 4 year old nephew crying and seeking attention, also not everybody in nigeria is igbo, though we all love eating yam. you should try it, you might develop brains actually. Like i said you are sounding like a broken record, claiming stuffs that no-one can prove about your armyNo Nigerian wanna be a Igbo. Cause Igbos are still crying for their land. POUND THAT YAM. What is it that I failed to prove about the SA army. |
agaugust: .Nigeria dudes kill me or makes me feel sorry for them, when they come here celebrating achievements South Africa has already achieved years ago. |
agaugust: you have always complained that nigerian wars are not modern, i am surprised to see you now quoting south african zulu spear throwing war as your national war history proof of combat capability.Combat capability? Nigeria in history has never proven or shown any real combat capability with tanks, jets,IFVs which would be the case if Nigeria was faced with SA. You claim South Africans have the dullest brains but SA is technologically ahead of Nigeria. Has the biggest economy in Africa. Nigerians are busy killing each other over beliefs and land. |
agaugust: the battle of Ore town between nigeria and biafra is one of the deadliest wars in african history.Dude that doesn't come any close to the battle of Lomba river or the battle of cassinga. Show us a real battle were Nigeria mobilised its tank squadrons and IFVs to attack a well equipped enemy. Not some marching columns war, which a attack helicopter can stop. A battle where electronic warfare was involved, jamming and stuff. Not this General black scorpion old stories. |
agaugust: who's protecting the south african crew operating your own G5 artillery too ? both Bofors and G5 crew are exposed as towed howitzers.Palmaria equal to the GV6? Oh comedian. Official websites for South African armed forces present an imagine of a self defence force. Threaten South Africa Nigerian won't even know where did SA gain radar screening shells. Nigeria is getting funny and old warplanes for light ground attack capability. instead of purchasing a real multi-role jet. South Africa operated the Bacaneer and canberra which were all replaced by the multi-role/swing-role Griffin. |
agaugust: your Gripen jet master and supplier Sweden has not been on receiving end of the firing line of a 122mm howitzer and T-55 tank in these modern times, so let south africa go fight Sweden and beat them in war.....go sign your own d.eath warrant like thatSwedish armed forces are well funded. And part of NATO. It is a well known fact and information anyone can get that SANDF mortar strikes in the DRC were highly accurate and Recces like always operated behind enemy lines.
|
agaugust: i know that already.Name dropping "4th generation" air to air missiles doesn't change a thing,as you've demonstrated on many occasions. SAAF has a 5th generation air to air missile, and you were the one who said "NO,This missiles have the same range". Today it is 1 December 2013 meaning we are quickly approaching the day in 2014 that SAAF will take delivery of its A-darter AAM and acquiring an interim BVR radar AAM while the Marlin missile development is on going. |
drag_on: AHAHAHAHAHA. are you serious. The roovialk is so expensive buy and maintain nobody wants to buy it and your country cant afford more than 11 and you want to develop Mark2? Your A109's are grounded and your pilots are losing their airworthiness.Infact the only reason your rooviak is in the air is because the U.N. paid for it.If you cant keep your a109's flying how much more your roovialks? SMHThe Rooivalk is cheaper than any AT helo on the market compared to choppers of its class like the Apache and Tiger. Denel has two test prototypes of it,which can be used to develop mark 2,if South Africa was at the prospect of a major war. South Africa will only step up development and production of the chopper if there was an HUGE external threat which means defence spending will be increased healing SAAF's financial problems regarding further funding on the Rooivalk. And the only reason the Rooivalk is not doing well on the market is the pressure from France on interested customers. The A109s resumed flying 2 months ago they even took part in the air force demonstration in Polokwane.

drag_on:Let's not talk about future stuff. Cause I will bring up project millennium. SAN can attack NA and NA can't do the same. |
drag_on: Your ATR-42 is a maritime surveillance aircraft. You obviously dont know they are being fitted to become mini awacs.ATR-42 in a battle situation with SA will be sea patrolling. SAAF has 8 pilots please ? prove that. Cause Swedish instructors trained 6 pilots,do you think all this years SAAF wasn't training new pilots? |
drag_on: Will exit the submarine from a safe distance and do what? Swim the remaining 4260 KM?They will be dead and eaten by sharks before the go 200km. Read his post again.South African special force did this before nothing new. Americans are doing covert insertion all the time. You're just ignorant or without knowledge about the Recces. |
drag_on: This is not about Military Technology, this is about superior Armed forces,do you know the difference?Read the thread topic.Technology is one of the factors that puts one army or makes it superior to the other. Here's are the areas that South Africa holds the edge/superior over Nigeria 1. Technology 2. Air force 3. Defence Industry 4. LGMs or PGMs 5. Proven battlefield accuracy with un-guided weapons(mortars, artillery,MRLs etc) 6. Targeting systems 7. Better understanding of the African battlefield(On high intensity battles) 8.Weapon systems adaptable to the African battlefield 9. Battlefield tested special forces........Nigeria holds the edge in numbers only. |
drag_on: You must be talking about apartheid soldiers, just as Nigerians were under colonial administration during the war,so was it that the blacks in S.A. were under apartheid rule. The South African army fought in WW2 and the Nigerian didn't. That's a fact. And answer when was apartheid introduced? |
