Henry120: The sudanese MIG-29 would shoot down each and every one of your gripen jets, that's how good they are. End of story.Let's us not talk about fantasies. And talk about real facts. Which war plane advanced and I'm not talking about BVR missiles, cause South Africa can buy a lot of them. At the prospect of war. |
Henry120: Your onyx helicopter is developed from the super-puma which nigeria operates. So that makes it crap?........If so your F7 jets is totally crap cause it is an upgraded version of MIG-21. |
Henry120: Top Guns’ the following NINE Airforces with a potent combat capability in africa. All rated by airforces monthly magazine.Do you read that "African pilot" magazine?...............And do you have a link for this site or magazine sounds interesting. |
Henry120: The F-7's are not good enough. That's not new. Nigeria requires an superiority fighter. Is the Sudanse MIG-29 modified to operate in Africa?. The Rooivalk was developed from the puma utility chopper which Nigeria still uses. What is crap about the Puma utility helicopter?......That utility chopper is made up of the most advanced South African avionics. THE MOST ADVANCED IN AFRICA........But let's just wait and see how it performs in the DRC. |
Henry120: According to AIRFORCES MONTHLY October 2013 edition, the Algerian Airforce with it’s 28 Su-30MKA Flanker C aircraft (with another 16 currently on order) has the most potent fighter aircraft in Africa. These fighters are equipped with BVR capable missiles and ‘passive electronically scanned array (PESA) radars- ditto the Ugandan Airforce SU-30MK2s.People tend to focus on fighter jets only when we talk about air forces. Forgetting attack helicopters, utility helicopters,EW aircraft............And Oh the Gripen take missions from Reconnaissance, air to air,air to ground and sharing time intelligence. |
Henry120: Ok. What about you, What group do you belong to?Visit South Africa I'll host you,we will talk that kind of stuff....But now I'd like us to talk about military things. Things like "Will SAAF's Rooivalk prove to be better than the Apache like military minds have been saying" since it is about to be deployed to the DRC. |
Henry120: The F-7 is an interceptor. It's not a ground attack fighter. That's not to say it cannot carry out ground missions. That's the thing Nigeria doesn't have that air superiority fighter to counter advanced jets like the SU-30...........The Gripen is the most advanced jet in sub-saharan Africa.......Rooivalk is the most sophisticated attack helicopter sub-saharan Africa.....Oryx helicopter is best helicopter fitted to operate in high temperatures of sub-saharan Africa..............Both Sudan and Ethiopia have old upgraded soviet era jets and helicopters. |
agaugust: nigeria has stopped buying british weapons, those english mofos messed up our Jaguar jets with arms embargo during the military era. That's stupi'd. Everybody knows the west designs or produce weapons that can defeat any of its eastern counterparts. Nigeria needs to replace that F7 by a real multi-role fighter. Most of the weapons Nigeria buys are not fitted for the African battlefield, your armed forces don't bother to modify them. They're designed for armies that have huge supply capabilities from trucks, transport aircraft(planes) and utility helicopters. |
agaugust: nigeria can upgrade by changing its F-7 jet radar again to this new 90km, it is presently classified but experts say it is about 30km radar our F-7 has now and it can carry laser guided bombs for air to ground attack.I bet that radar is not as advanced as the one fitted on the Cheeter C. The F7 can't swing between air to ground and air to air mission. SAAF is the most advanced air force in sub-saharan Africa. itweb.co.za/mobilesite/defenceweb/home/item_id-32385/

Henry120: So which group do coloured people belong to? I'd also like to know, Mike..ZA which group do you belong to?They can belong to any mostly are English,Xhosa and Afrikaans. Though some are Khoisan. |
agaugust: my bros, I will post my own answer to your good questions this weekend, I guess other guys too will give answers. cheers !They will. Now enjoy reading this link agaugust!!! http:///79i8lnnkkq |
zaandrew: Things are getting risky in mozambique. Don't see a full blown civil war starting( renamo is to small and has no out side suport) but iy is a risk. If a war does break out zimbawe would likly step in first folowed by SA then SADC.Renamo is estimated to be around 1000 light armed rebels. They're likely to continue targeting things like Railways, police stations and civilians. |
rka1: The F4 that was shot down by Syria was on a training flight that allegedly strayed into Syrian airspace. The Germans were using F4s as their front line fighters until this year. Haven't you seen reports of the difficulty modern NATO fighters have had engaging Romanian MIG 21 Lancers within visual range due to their speed and evasive manoeuvres? Continue to underestimate. It is good for us.South Africa downed a couple of MiG 21 in Angola. And Turkey F4 was on a recce mission, not training like Turkey puts it. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Whenever you become an adult pray little children don't point at you calling you a Boy! What are you currently saying that has not been said by fools before you ... CrazePig, AwoduaGyan, and your predesessors on this thread? So interesting that every Nigerian must be Igbo these days?South Africans are Pedi,Sotho,Tswana,Xhosa,English,Zulu,Afrikaans,Venda,Tsonga,Swati,Ndebele,Indian and other small Asian groups....I'll call you an "Igbo boy" if you continue to act like an I'diot. |
rka1: Can you explain why Greece, Turkey and until a few weeks ago Germany use the Phantom F-4 which is an older frame than the F7? It is because of the EW and other sensor suites. When to shot?..... The South African air force's Cheeter C once held an exercise with the Russian SU 27. Here's a quote of what one Cheeter C pilot said "There I was on the tail of the Sukhoi and he started to turn so I tried to follow. By the time I had done 360 degrees he had gone 720 and was on my tail" ....The Cheeter C's airframe could only handle 7G while the Sukhoi could handle up to 9G. Your F7 structure's outclassed, your avionics are outclassed. And here's my question do you think those F4 jets could take on modern jets like the Rafael, besides the F4 were primary used for Recce missions remember the one(From the Turkish air force) Syria shoot down, they weren't used as frontline fighters.........The F7 can be left zapping through the sky by modern fighters. |
chris365: guys, i saw this and couldn't help to wonder what kind of training KDF special forces getThey were shopping but couldn't find cashiers. So they decided oh well.........On a serious note: I think KDF rushed regular troops into the mall not SF who trained to handle rescue operations. The KDF SF are armed with some rifle not the FN..........Did you watch the Al jazeera report about tunnels on the mall which could have been used to escape? This raises suspicion cause initially the Kenyan government estimated the terrorists to number around 15. Some rescued civilians claimed "there was this women". |
chris365: the guy is just so daft. with a brain like this, no wonder little inexperienced cuba fought them to a stalemate on their own turf. This demonstrates your lack of knowledge about the Boarder war. "Home turf"? Do you know where Angola,Zambia and Zimbabwe are on the map?.......Wanna talk about experience?.....Cuba had Soviet advisors to make up for their lack of experience. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Dem take Zulu sangoma juju swear for this boy? Abi na inside dustbin e feed from everyday?e dfgrffdhdjhfdjk dfhgdf whatever you're saying Igbo boy. Deliver facts and stop talking about recycle bins and Africa's well known tribe. This is your tactic when you can't deliver facts, you resort to "ebi na sha recycle bin" kind of rubbish.....The Zulus went to combat more than your modern Nigerian army. |
NaijaPikinGidi: And this brat thinks Nigerian pilots are not able to read tactical air combat situations or set traps too? That's because your war planes will be detected before they even know or detect the presence of Gripens. Giving less time to read tactical air combat situation or set traps. Besides the F7 can't swing from air to ground mission to air to air combat. |
NaijaPikinGidi: What is this one saying again? When did you become a human being? I thought South Africans were cyborgs? By all your blabbing here you have shown how perpetually useless you naturally are! Ka Chineke mezie okwu! Dan banza! You can call chineke(God) Igbo boy. And you wanna start with the racism "thing" again?..........Fact is your army is failing to curb this massacres by boko haram. You should ask for some training from Algeria, which has been effective in fighting this terror groups. Even showing it won't negotiate with terrorists on some occasions. Almost forgot is the movie of Cyborg still premiering in Nigeria? This is sad. You're stack in the 90s you guys,oh so is that why you think your country's civil war is a modern conflict? |
souldust: @all i was watching Startacus and i saw where a Roman soldier was r..a..pe..d by another soldier superior to him in rank. My question is, dont you think that this will have an adverse effect on the morale of the soldiers if this still happens in 21st century military? Do the military punish culprits? How are they punished?Yes culprits are punished. Most abuses take place in training collages and this cases are rare or not reported. Which won't affect the morale of troops. |
rka1: Obsolete in your head. As I have always said, the equipment is only as good as the user. When were any of SANDF's shiny new weapons used in a modern war scenario? And oh!!! You guys always claim "NA walks the walk",but fail to provide me with real prove where NA was heavily engaged with a enemy that has modern(system that are still used today) heavy systems like Main battle tanks, fighter jets,SAMs,shoulder fired SAMs,APCs,armoued fighting vehicles, artillery,Multiple rocket launchers, constant fresh supplies of equipment, helicopters and AA guns. Not some hungry rebels resorting to cannibalism to keep alive. I'd be happy and show respect to your military, without that prove Nigeria will always be ranked below Algeria,Ethiopia and the continent advanced country SOUTH AFRICA!!! |
rka1: Obsolete in your head. As I have always said, the equipment is only as good as the user. When were any of SANDF's shiny new weapons used in a modern war scenario?Denel's 81mm mortar and NTW-20 sniper rifle are in the DRC. Just a month ago they were put to test and nicely neutralised M23 rebels. Now the highly sophisticated Rooivalk attack chooper is headed there too. Hornets and Geckos were also used in CAR including the Griffins during the evacuation. Don't lie to your self with that "good as the user rubbish",ask China how technology can easily change the battlefield in favour of the person with modern equipment. That country rushed its well trained and masters of disguise troops into the DPRK,only to find that most were killed cause they still used World war 2 weapons. While the USA G.Is packed spanking new systems. |
Henry120: Brilliant reply. I'd also like to add that, the nigerian F-7ni's are similar to the pakistani up-graded F-7PG. In as much as we do not like the F-7's, those jets are not in any way scraps oh. They good interceptors.I should changed my name to Mike..Facts......What South Africa lacks in numbers,we make up in precision. Unless Nigeria can get real fighter jets your artillery,Main battle tanks and APCs will always be prey for the advanced South African air force. South Africa will control the skies meaning drones like the Vulture will be feeding SANDF artillery units with movement of your ground forces. Upgrading the F7 four billion times won't change a thing, cause its structure(TAIL) is not suitable for the 21st century dogfights. Here's a silly analogy for you: Egypt still has the upgraded T-35 MBT in service, can this tank take on the Israeli Merkava in a battle? NO. right? No matter what you can put inside it,its structure is obsolete. Just like SAAF's cheeter jets they have the most advanced avionics(still classified today. |
drag_on: i told you both forces (Nigeria and South Africa) don't use BVR, which is the ultimate sensor, and significant advantage of any 4th Gen fighter in a air to air confrontation. What is the significance of your long range radar if you have to enter the range of your opponents tracking radar to fire? When you both see each other it's up to the pilots. Do you not know the role tactics play in a fight? Weapons without tactics is Hollywood. What's the advantage of long range radar?. You can easily set a trap for your opponent like the Israel tactics of flying two fighters low,and the other two at normal heights in that case the enemy will be fooled thinking his got two opponents. Only to run into a trap, and be shot from the sky. Even if you get at your opponent's tracking radar it will again, depend on which aircraft is more manoeuvrable, able to swing between roles(missions),EW kits, sensors for incoming missiles, flare dispensers and communication systems. Lastly the Griffin will always out manoeuvre the F7 with its "tail". |
drag_on: COMPARISM OF THE Saab JAS 39 Gripen and J7(as interceptors)The Griffin's Avionics and sensors are way advanced than the F7. You're a fool to think the F7 can take on the multi role Griffin. Any old fighter with a "tail" can be send flying down by any modern delta wing plane. You don't wonder why India returned those Jets without canards to Russia. |
NaijaPikinGidi:Laughing at the rust on your obsolete arsenal? |
NaijaPikinGidi: 21st October 2013 is today's date! Now can you tell us why you are so adamant about living in the past? This as usual is recycled nonsense! Wake up young man! Feel the Nigerian breeze! You can never avoid the realities in your face.As human beings we learn from our past,we use experience to solve problems. If you don't have that experience you're completely useless. The only Nigerian chilling breeze I'm feeling is Boko Haram striking again,I mean slaughtering innocent people. And its 21st October 2013. itweb.co.za/mobilesite/defenceweb/home/item_id-32323/ |
agaugust: hahahaJust like you said in your simulation. Your navy hides when SAN shows up,your army and air force will do the same when their South African counterparts show up. What kind of a dummy uses free bombs or rockets at the height 13km to bomb a stealth warship? Your F7 is simply a MiG-21 which SAAF used cannon fire to destroy in Angola. And it is simply an interceptor its ground attack capabilities are highly limited. |
agaugust: this post reminds me....Unless Nigeria get real fighter jets to counter 2 squadron's Griffins, this tanks are just going to be nice targets for the SANDF artillery,Hawks and the Rooivalk. |
chris365: These south Africans must have a very short memory to be criticizing Nigerian military training with NATO while an inexperienced Brazilian military just schooled SANDF on jungle warfare just to fight ordinary rebels om DRC.South Africa sent officers to receive training,Brazil is not training the SANDF. M23 rebels are shooting at each other as we speak, the Kampala peace talks are failing. |
agaugust: hahahahaTime and again I showed you how your Roland will destroyed by Umbani PGM. SAAF has experienced against the AA guns,we flown against them in Angola. Nigeria's army would be test dummies which precise or free fall bombs would test on
