Soknown: Something happened in May that reminded me of where i was coming from. That particular week, i was working four long days, on the fourth day, the manager told me that there is an MDT meeting by 1400hr, immediately after my break. That i will be presenting on a particular patient. I was shocked, presenting as how? she said i will be giving information on how the patient has been over the four days that i have worked with him. She could see through me that i was worried so she said she would be there to offer any support. I have attended MDT meeting before, but not the one presenting, well today the table has turned since i was the most knowledgeable person per the patient having nursed him for four straight days, eight days cumulatively, ( counting the days in previous weeks). All through the morning, i was thinking what would i talk about? I decided to use the activities of daily living, having found a base i started filling the gaps in my head and when i got the time, i jotted few things on a paper. 1400hr, we were all seated, the doctors led by the consultant in charge of the patient's care, the physiotherapists, the Occupational therapist, the social work team, the community nurse, the pharmacist, my manager, the patient's relative who has the lasting power of attorney for health. Each department made presentations and questions were asked. when it was my time, i talked about the patient's ability to attend to personal hygiene and grooming, ability to eat and drink independently, ability to transfer from bed to chair and vice-versa, his continence, and bowel movement pattern, ability to recognize pain and ask for help. I talked about his preference for some drug form, that some drugs needed to be converted to liquid while some needed to be converted to injections that the community nurse could administer. i corroborated some facts made by the physiotherapist and stated some equipment the patient might need before discharge. In the end, the social work team and the community nurse came back to thank me for making their job and decision making simpler. I thought to myself, i have come a long way. You just reminded me of my first ever presentation at work! The consultant psychiatrist, the psychiatric nurses with years of experience, the social worker and the occupational therapist were all seated likewise the patient and his mother. I managed to pull it through and heaved a sigh of relief! |

traveluk: One thing I dislike about nairaland is that people will tell you to ask Google or start reading from the beginning. Someone like me is aware of this tradition and won't be asking questions here if I haven't explored Google or read from the scratch. Are there institutions that allow installmental payment and for how many times. Thanks If you dislike Nairaland, why asking a question. Always note that no one is obligated to answer questions because no one has been employed as the customer service agent here but share out of their freewill and willingness to share, so it should be respected and helps one to build social capital. If you had truly read from the scratch, you wouldn't have been asking this question because it has been covered severally through the pages. Go to the school(s) you have narrowed down and visit their payment plan pages. Below is a sample.

Richy4: But some ladies can change him... or is that saying only applicable to a rich dude?
You know when some of them where bragging about how they met Mr ABC.. they started from the scratch, when he had nothing..She contributed towards making him who he was today .. Is this not a part of having nothing? Or is their a better version of having nothing. For both his physical and mental health, does he have to wait for a lady to change him? Having nothing as a man does not mean he should ignore his well-being. He is an adult and has to take responsibility for himself but such a person can easily shame a woman for being dirty like him as if being dirty is a male entitlement. |

There is need for both Marriage and Family therapy. There is so much repressed in your marriage and family, there is need to see someone who is neutral and that's a certified Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)
The 6 years old son who is a product of one of your extra marital affairs, is a sore thumb that can't be ignored.
Let's not sugarcoat it, you contributed to turning your children against yourself as they observed your infidelity with tensions it caused in the home and the thought that you had a child with another woman is part of their resentment. |

MartinsD12: Which lady owns her stop that nonsense think please use your head to think, the lady doesn't own him as they are only boyfriend and girlfriend not married yet Did you even read what you typed! The lady doesn't own him neither do the man own the lady nor her money that she said he nags about if she says NO. |
Family › Re: What Comes With Marrying The Breadwinner Of A Family? by Mindlog: 9:42am On Apr 19, 2020 |
MartinsD12: And you are too sentimental not to read my write up where I advice if she is not comfortable with the man being a bread winner should should quit him, you didn't see that advice there You know your post was guilt-tripping the lady and see nothing parasitic with the boyfriend borrowing money from the lady to take care of his older siblings and nags whenever the lady says no to his financial request. No one is stopping him from taking of his family, let him assist them from what he can genuinely afford and don't go borrowing from his girlfriend to package before his family. Just as the man's family "owns" him, so does the lady's family "owns" her and instead of lending money to the man, she should spend it on her own family. |
Family › Re: What Comes With Marrying The Breadwinner Of A Family? by Mindlog: 9:22am On Apr 19, 2020 |
MartinsD12: Is the man not taking care of the girlfriend for the past three years? " Yes, I knew he was the Breadwinner from day one but I thought with time, everyone else will be able to stand on their own, but it hasn't happened yet, we've dated for 3yrs now and he doesn't support me financially. I don't complain but he feels entitled to my money and when I get tired of him always asking me to lend him some money and decide to say no, he nags and tells me I'm not being supportive enough"It seems you didn't read the OP's write up very well. On what ground is he angry when the girlfriend doesn't "lend" him money he is using to support his older siblings? Like I asked you earlier, will you encourage your younger sister to be "lending" money to her boyfriend to support his older siblings because "he has been taking care of her for the past 3 years"? I just wonder how a man can be "taking care" of a lady and still be borrowing from her. |
Family › Re: What Comes With Marrying The Breadwinner Of A Family? by Mindlog: 9:09am On Apr 19, 2020 |
MartinsD12: Very simple truth this is a good man that loves his family, he understands that family is everything, family is life, nothing like family, if you can't let him take care of his family, you quit. I don't see anything parasitic here he has dated you for 3 years and am sure he also spends on you the only problem you have is he spending on his family that's bad, his family owns him therefore if you are not comfortable with a man helping his beloved family you quit him simple. Please what is good in a man who in order to look financially capable before his older siblings who are in their 30s and above and still financially supported by him also have to involve getting money from his girlfriend to support them, not even an income generating venture? Why is he an enabler of his older siblings' dependency? Please can you encourage your younger sister to continue to borrow her boyfriend money to take care of his older siblings? |

*people who are new in the UK are giving their DETAILED AND VALID experience (although very young experience) and it's helping us so much.
**The OGAs in the house (with massive UK experience) are correcting the errors in "*". And further giving us a more precise view BASED on EXPERIENCE.
My advice.... 1. If u are in "*" you better now get offended by the comments of "**" but try to add the positive part of their comments to make ur own UK journey very successful.
2. if you are in "**"...pls and Pls continue to share your experience and correct any misinformation. but sha do it politely.
3. if you are a prospective UK student... you better be smart and not get into their argument. Just take ur pen and paper and note ALLLL thier points as ur prepare for ur journey.
if you are not in 1,2,3...pls just watch and don't come and be causing fight btw "*" and "**".
Pls where is that guy with bobo ...pls give me 2 bottles....i need to enjoy this thread more Love the comical way you presented it, am in number 3. |
