Ebonyeyes: 1. Why don't these demonic political elites donate their mansions, hotels and buildings as isolation centers? 2. Why did they call for a lockdown so that they could go on a loan shopping spree and share the monies? 3. Why did they underfund and under-develop the health care system of Nigeria? 4. Why didn't they build emergency hospitals like the West, they only copied the lock down part but failed to build hospitals or equip the existing dying hospitals. 5. Why did they blindly copy the WEST's lock down but refused to provide for the citizens of Nigeria? 6. What happened to the monies donated by the EU/WHO/UN/IMF? Whose bank accounts did the loot end up in? Serious something my dear. |

What will now happen when cases (God forbid, God forbid) reach 50,000? In a few weeks we will know whether the decision to ease lockdown in Lagos on May 4th is the biggest mistake ever made in Nigeria. Now it's bed space, later it will be equipment, later it will be shortage of medical personnel. But let it not come out from my mouth. When the time comes, they will speak for themselves. Don't forget many of our hospitals have patients with other equally serious health challenges which they are battling with which resources, facilities and space are not meeting up with demand. I don't know if there has been a time you attended the general hospitals as a patient? |

Misscongenialit: This lockdown is giving me cold feet. It reminds me of the Marseille plague of 1720, where more people died after quarantine was lifted to help the economy, more than half of the population died and noone cared about the economy with bodies lying everywhere.
Please we have a responsibility to ourselves and our families, if we observe the rules at every individual level, we can at least save our loved ones from sickness that we will import from outside.
Pls stay safe ,use face masks ,practice social distancing. If you know the level of ignorance out there you will know terrified is nothing. Whatever sensitization that may have been done by the authorties only have very little impact. Luck is all we got. |

Susu888: Wailers and blowing of matters out of proportions. Whts the big deal?? Apparently the minister is sure that nafdac certified but somehow it turns out expired when it reaches its destination. Either the people to transport it replaced good ones with a few expired ones or that nafdac didn't do a thorough job either way i don't see how wailers link this to buhari or the minister as they obviously have nothing to gain giving you a few bags of expired rice plus lets add the people claiming north recieved good rice while south received expired..... anyone who knows how poor northerners are knows that they really wouldn't bother with the expiration date on the sack as long as the rice is edible nd in good shape. So pls all the propagandist should give it a rest!
The swap will most likely have come from the customs warehouses guards , operators or the truck drivers/ points of distribution e.t.c ..... there are just so many suspects because nigerians are so corrupt especially on the moral aspects. It could be anyone from the warehouse guards down to the distribution operatives.
No matter what is done Nigerians will always complain Haba. Is everything about Wailers, APC, PDP, sentiments or what? Don't the ordinary people deserve something decent from their leaders? We keep screamng corruption this, corruption that, is it not human beings in the system that are doing it? And so why will we see traces of that and choose to only explain it away? Things are constantly messed big time by people in charge and they hardly get punished, and the cycle continues on and on. I wonder how we hope to get to that promised land if what we see is the change we dream of. |

Can you imagine what a huge hungry poor population would do if under prolonged forced lockdown without adequate palliatives. When FG was pumping billions in terms of money and resources into Lagos (even with its high IGR) none of you were complaining - now it is paying similar attention to Kano, suddenly many of you are yarning sentimental dust. Maybe if you can put the exact figures/records of what were given to both sides, side by side for them to see. The present regime has always been associated with lopsidedness in what they do. |

Jaqenhghar: If there is no life insurance whose fault is it? Is it the patient or is it your ogas ( fellow doctors) ? Why do we always look for soft target to vent our frustrations on leaving the actual source of our problems. Same way a soldier who is shortchanged by his oga will prefer to vent on citizens meanwhile his oga who is the source of his misery , he will salute and protect that oga. You are comparing yourself now with a messenger who collects bribe to push files around because there is no way a messenger can earn better than a doctor. This shows you dont understand the value of your training and will also like to be in a position where you only service people who can give you extra money. Sadly Niggeria has deteriorated to that point where even those with the money dont get the quality health services Anything stretched beyond its elastic limit to a breaking point must break. That is the point where we are. If government has been playing us for too long. Even the soldiers known for bravery abscond because they are not well equipped. |

Over 1 yr of my practice here in Nigeria I realized the unseriousness from the end of our govt, our oath encourage us on looking after ourselves also n u expect them to stay? An average Nigerian on the street finds it difficult to acknowledge that the unseriousness of government towards most things is also impacting health sector and the workers. One who has visited public hospitals can tell. I guess in their mind, our doctors who travelled out and are practicing in other countries under reasonably better conditions are guilty of violating their oaths. |

Agboriotejoye: I want to believe you have a day job you do. I want to assume you do that job in hope of getting a better life for yourself and family. Now what exactly is your point. Ordinary life insurance we don't have for our health workers. Even health insurance is not a given for them. Yet we have some people who push files around in NNPC, FIRS etc who earn handsomely. Think na. Typical Nigerians don't reason that way. They don't want to acknowledge the fact that the system is dysfunctional. Health workers are expected to lay down their lives to make up for the mess that their leaders foisted on the nation. They don't even know that health workers need to stay alive just like everyone else. |

When the thing is getting started? I pity our situation if we should somehow get to that real full blown state of mass deaths from Covid-19. I wonder how our leaders deserve all praise and worship constantly being showered on them by our sychophantic apologists who lack the courage to speak the truth. They are quick to forget if we go down the deadly path, we are all going down together. Rather baffling that occasions like this like real leaders use them as opportunity to display their ability to deal with situations, but ours use them as opportunities to further loot and to clear every doubt every doubt how clueless they are. Anyone who really knows how Nigeria is run knows loyalty and patriotism are alien to our system. Those at frontline are always left to do their job with maximum risk and least protection possible, yet we claim we are serious. |

wonder233: Shut up. All these pseudo-intellectuals. The three afflictions of hunger, disease and conflict are equal in potency. None is superior. Conflict is closely tied to hunger, which is why the crime rate may lead to total anarchy in the coming days if the lockdown persists. You can write this now because you have some little funds to go on for a little while, well for many others, they don't! A smart solution is to open up the economy while enforcing needed restrictions like continuing the ban on large gatherings like parties, churches, mosques, etc. Step up testings, enforce use of facemasks and hand gloves, disinfect public places, etc. The clowns running the show simply do not possess the competence to deal with issues as needed. That is the crux of the matter. |
