Place travel bans on who? In a country that we are looking for money......they could have done better with their screenings at the ports but even you know no one would have signed for a travel ban.
If this ever goes full blown in Nigeria, pray you live to see the end and not regret your preference and support for the laid back attitudes and approach your useless government, if you really know what we are having on our hands and it's consequences.

I trust Nigerian warped way of doing things as usual.
With such an irresponsible bunch of APC people at helm of affairs in Nigeria, we all know how the story goes. They are always busy pretending, talking tough yet going nothing. Do they ever care? They will never do what is obvious right to do. Yet for every failed leadership we have in Nigeria there is always a large base of followership and loyalist who will never see the evil their leaders do.

Egzaktly!
One thing is people seem not to really care how they are faring with their personal lives so far they are being entertained whereas how well they are doing with their individual lives is key, especially fact that they are twins. Only those who truly stand to benefit are those who toil to see their downfall. The impact of both being together can never be achieved with them being separated.

Again to our face, sheer hypocrisy of those who run this regime. Imagine taking delight in releasing terrorists even in midst of so called war against them, while other people who commit other less crimes are sentenced to death and many are languishing in prison. And many still wonder why people resort to jungle justice as an easy way out since government won't do justice
Hope the masses can see and know their real enemies are, these people in office, so called leaders, they never give a hoot about the common man.

ChybuzzDD:
What's this blockhead saying? I hope you read the above write-up and understood it?
She's simply saying the number of infected people are so much that there's no more available spaces and enough healthcare personnel to admit and take of them respectively.
The new hospital is a 1000-bed facility, and it's equipped with modern facilities. The problem is that the number of people infected are so many that it's difficult to get bed spaces in the hospitals both for treatment and quarantine. Butt hey're still building more. Another 1500-bed facility will be opened today. I think China is doing well.
Concentrate on your bleeped-up country that doesn't even have facilities to quarantine suspected cases, let alone manage over 20,000 infected cases. Most other African countries, except Nigeria, have evacuated and quarantined their citizens. A serious country that cares about it's citizens should have erected a quarantine facility in an isolated place by now.
Sad but true. Failure of Nigerian leadership and their less concerned attitude as usual.

Public transport users aren't against modernization of the transportation system but the way and manner it's been suddenly revamped.

Get systems in place call private stake holders partnership meeting with the government, release models so private investors can bring in these new buses that meets the policy standard and then effect a ban.

Going out of the way to put a sudden halt to a thing that has been in play for 30-35years implies lack of tact in policy making.

Modernized transportation like in London and Newyork is long overdue but the manner with which the government of Lagos takes decision and puts policies in place is a clear reflection of an autocratic/cult-run system where people are helplessly subject to an emperor.

If we want any changes to any sector, please come up with blue prints, policy frame work, dead lines and news letter issued, involve private partnership as it's done in saner climes and before you know if 1000 person's can decide to buy the buses without the government seeking bond for acquiring it at exhorbitanf prices. So the government maintains the system, rules and policy framework, while the private sector manages the buses itself. Common sense applies

Governor Sanwo Olu take note. Taking pictures at Harvard isn't good enough. Knowing isn't good enough, how we do matters. Damn

Taking photos at Harvard doesn't make you an expert.

What's there to add, well said.
The crop of people in leadership circles in Nigeria are most certainly never fit such positions. The cabal/godfathers in charge simply installs whoever they deem fit, and leave the masses to suffer whatever comes from their misrule. The comfort of the ordinary people is never their priority.

Stop shouting "Nigeria this Nigeria that". The keke driver is lucky this was not US, he would have been shot for resisting can't you see he is grabbing on to the pole or pillar with two uniform police officers trying to take him?

You can go on YouTube and watch videos of US and Canadian officers behaving worse than this, shooting and killing citizen for nothing.
I guess you think we didn't see the video?

Whether it's US, Canadian or even half-mad half-sane Nigerian police, it is totally unacceptable to have them manhandle/mistreat people like that. Anyone with such behaviour is not worthy of putting on the uniform. If the man happens to have people in high places we very well know those policemen might be in trouble too.

Tell me why about 4-5 five policemen (some armed) will be beating an unarmed civilian who was already in their grip/custody if not the usual Nigerian police cruelty and reckless way of doing things? If they hated the Tricyclist for being reckless enough to bash the DPO's car, why shouldn't any right thinking fellow not be mad at them for being equally reckless in beating him up whom they had already apprehended?
With this level of cruelty in public glare, you can imagine what they will do to him when they get to the station where no one can easily video what goes and where he will be completely helpless.

When she is through with me I will know my myself.

Shameful for a Uniform man
That's Nigeria for you. A shameless jungle.
A DPO and group of policemen caught on camera beating up an unarmed civilian simply because he bashed the DPO's car. Since they had apprehended him, is it not natural that they should treat him with regard and allow the law to take its course or are they saying if he loses his life due to the unlawful beatings it will be justified?
That is what ordinary people go through on a regular in this contraption called Nigeria, and worst of it all when this gets to the authorities in the usual corrupt Nigerian way they simply shield the policemen.
PoliticsRe: Nnamdi Kanu Guarded By Foreign Security At A Press Conference (Photo) by mindtricks: 7:06pm On Jan 24, 2020
Johnsghana:
What has anyone done about politicians and their supporters besides just talk about it like you said? It is easy to talk about the symptoms and ignore the cause.

On election day, people stand and watch while hoodlums hijack ballot boxes with collaboration from members of their communities. No matter where you go to in Nigeria, this is the same story.

Stand and fight to defend your votes. Identify the collaborators and deal with them. When I was a student union activist in Uni, we fought oppression and injustice not by asking to go and start our own university. We fought corrupt school administrators intellectually and physically, even in the face of Police intimidation and harassment. And yes we got results.

You can talk from now till tomorrow, our enemies are the same across the country. Politicians will continue to win as long as we keep falling for their politics of tribal sentiments by fighting each other and not them.

Wake up! I am not your enemy!

I disagree with many of your summation here. I would have loved to respond, but I am tired of this back and forth.
A lot of wisdom though, let it not amaze you to learn that our politicians have already taken the madness to a whole new level, the next level - brazenly forcing their way to power with guns (you dare not argue with a man with a gun), recent Kogi guber election where very unpopular Bello still "won" is a good example.
PoliticsRe: Nnamdi Kanu Guarded By Foreign Security At A Press Conference (Photo) by mindtricks: 6:47pm On Jan 24, 2020
Johnsghana:
Hmmmnn! Your response seems to be off the topic, but to each his own.

You don't understand global politics yet. Let me ask you a question, why do you think the US is afraid of China, India, Russia? Their population! It is only a matter of time, the countries with the most numerical advantage will dominate the earth.

If you understand the politics of population you will know that the Western countries would be very happy if black nations continue to disintegrate along tribal lines. Why was Gaddafi killed? Why was Nkrumah forced out of power by CIA sponsored coupists? Why was Thomas Sankara ousted by French and American supported traitors? Do you know what they all had in common? They were Pan-Africanists - working towards the achievement of the one African nationhood.

Blackman you need to stop being small minded and see that greater power lies in unity.
You try shaa, but missed something critical. First let the separate progressive countries exist, then they will form a union. Even a true federation or confederation is better than what obtains. If the present is not working, why not try other options. Wonder where the current system will get us with the way things are going.

We don't even need any TI to tell us. It's public knowledge that General Buhari's regime is shamelessly as dirty and corrupt just as his predecessors.
