baby124: There are so many groups threatening the sovereignty of western nations and they have never been prosecuted except when they take up violent struggles. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech and association. They also have the right to protest. The government is unlawfully detaining Sowore because he is within his rights. He has not carried out any violent acts so he should be released. This government is constantly pardoning Boko Haram members who have killed Nigerians after a very short term of detention. Are you a clown? Why is Sowore’s case more important and why exactly is he being detained? The bolded is the irony of our situation. Nigerian government and their insincerity. |

Nwodosis: A particular tribe made mockery of Nnamdi Kanu when he was in detention of being fed with watery beans, Kanu people never abandon him even when we were made to believe that his people are not United. I believe Sowore is being fed with yam and egg sauce and that's why his United people abandoned him to enjoy in detention. Is it really about the protesters who are fed with the failed up corrupt system, or is it about the suffering masses? If the likes of Sowore and Kanu choose to go mute, will they be considered poor or found amongst the poorest of us? I pray we can look beyond our divisive tendencies and see our leaders take us serious. |

Borders are patrolled by the police, immigration, army & other security apparatus & when these people are up & doing, no pin goes in or out of the country without them knowing. englishmart: Japan is a civilized country. They value and understand the entails of democracy. You can't constitutionally stop people from peaceful remonstration. If your administration is favourable or close to par, why then do you dread protests? Silencing of aggrieved, peaceful protesters leads to a reinforcement of anger that is capable of causing an upheaval There you have it. It a crime, treason to protest against governments in Nigeria, whether peaceful or whatever, especially with the present high-handed yet underperforming leaders. If not constitionally, at least realistically speaking. |

Iblad0994: Do you think this kind of crime is to be blamed on government alone? Most times we don't always take responsibility for our actions. These guys are millionaires that scammed several million dollars, they would have been into these crimes for God knows when.
While the government should share in part of the blame, we Nigerians ourselves are a reflection of our bad government. Go to gov't ministries, public agencies, secondary schools (Parent sponsoring exam malpractices for their children), police force, Nepa, legislature, executive, chruches and mosques, e.t.c. The greatest threat to Nigeria is even that people already visualize crime as the norm and if you try to be righteous people will start calling you mumu or stupid.
I don't even know what to say self, may God help us. It is well dear. |

Iblad0994: "Corporate America is notoriously unfriendly when it comes to the hardworking black immigrant."
The bolded statement is what I call fallacy of hasty generalization. When will people learn to stop judging the USA by the action of Trump. I have been working here and my colleagues have always value us Africans for our brilliance and passion for work.
Although she is right about the recent fraud issue coz I am really bothered by the news of the FBI 80 which was on the front page of CNN website when it occurred. The implication is that my colleagues will try to view Nigerians from that angle even if they are not willing to say it.
The scammers are hurting us indirectly, but most especially they are hurting people in Nigeria that are trying to migrate here more. The day I almost regretted being a Nigerian is when one Indian colleague told me in the midst of other colleagues that Nigerians are mostly scammers in Atlanta, he said it immediately I told him I'm from Nigeria, although I defended Nigeria and told him we are not a nation of scammer but the stigma still sticks anytime I remember that day.
I hope people change and stop this get rich quick by any means syndrome. Sadly, not with the dangerously corrupt governments that we have. In the face of this, many will unfortunately still choose to go that route as an easy way out and damn the consequences. |

In those climes they are strict enough to enforce such strigent laws that will deter people from such crimes. Unlike we who can't enforce even the simplest form of orderliness. lexy2014: Nobody said that our leaders don't steal. D issue is that d Nigerian environment isn't an excuse 4 our people to go abroad and start to steal. If these guys have d brain to steal more than $1b, they certainly have d brain to b legally productive irrespective of d environment they find themselves even in Nigeria. D root cause isn't d system. That's only an excuse.
Its quite unfortunate that most d cases of drugs& fraud related crimes being perpetrated by Nigerians abroad are being traced to nigerians of Igbo origin. because of that people will have no choice but to tag igbos. But it doesn't mean that there are no hardworking igbos in Nigeria & abroad. But when we start making excuses 4 these crimes instead of condemning them, then it becomes easy 4 non-igbos to make it an ethnic issue If anything, our cruel leaders are happy to see us remain along those divisive lines of tribe and religion and never think of coming together to address our common problem which is they themselves. Such genuine coming together of the masses which in itself can bring to an end the suffering appears like something can never be with the sort of hate and division always being exhibited by folks even here. lexy2014: If d environment is d problem, then all of us in d environment should b criminals. Is d system in Nigeria working? No it isn't. If that is d reason 4 them engaging in criminal acts, then when they travel out who& what is influencing them to engage in crime? When they get to d US, y don't they submit to d rules of d environment since d " environment" is d issue? If they were eating yam here by engaging in criminal activities, when they got 2d US y did they continue eating yam? If u take these guys to heaven, they will still steal from God and d angels. No matter what these guys steal, they are never near what our chronically corrupt leaders steal, which many of us seem very comfortable with, and is unfortunately the core of the problem. While condemning it, painting it as merely a tribal thing is not the way to go. Addressing the root cause of the issue which is bad governance is the solution. |

doris00: The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, on Thursday, released its report on the investigation into the rape scandal surrounding the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo. CAN had given the PFN two weeks to submit report of its probe into the rape allegation against the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo.
Speaking to newsmen on Thursday, PFN’s National Publicity Secretary, Bishop Emma Isong disclosed that Fatoyinbo ignored the panel that was set up to investigate the accusations against him.
PFN, while declaring the investigation ‘inconclusive’, stated however that Busola and her husband, Timi Dakolo appeared before the panel.
Recall that Busola, wife of Timi Dakolo had in weeks past disclosed details of how Fatoyinbo allegedly raped her when she was a teenager.
Fatoyinbo, however, denied the allegation, saying he has never forced himself on any woman in his life.
https://dailypost.ng/2019/08/22/coza-pastor-vs-busola-dakolo-biodun-fatoyinbo-shunned-investigative-panel-pfn/amp/ Too bad, a chance to clear one's name when being accused, if he was innocent why not seize the opportunity?
