RomanceRe: How I Caused Potential Fight Between My Girlfriend And Her Friend by mipeesoft(m): 12:10pm On May 27, 2023
Judging you with this story shows that you've not really matured in relationship matters. Please I meant no offence. My advice, is that pick and stick with the one you really love and if you truly love her, then you must abide with the rules that will lead to your marriage with her.
manoflove22:
i started dating my girlfriend last year December, we barely see each other because of her strict father, even there was time her father threatened me to leave her daughter.

Even if we got to see it will be in a public place around her house

And this have been for all these while and i try to talk her into it that i can't date a girl i can't spend quality time with her and she never visits me, claiming my place is far

Now last month, there's a girl, a friend to her in my area, i showed interest to her, she questioned me that what about her friend but i told her we are not dating that she is not serious

So this new girl have been showing care,we have been making out together and deep down in me this is all i wanted, a girl that show she cares not a girl we barely see each than calling.

fast forward to yesterday, i don't know what they discussed, my first girlfriend told her that she saw me yesterday and we are still dating, which make my new girlfriend became angry, she called me shouting that I'm a lair that we are dating, to cut the story short i just had to assured and told her if by any chance she see my first girlfriend she should told her not to call me again.

This evening my first girlfriend called me and told me we should end it that her friend told her all i told her

Incredibly, i never expected my new girlfriend to tell her such but just a simple assurance

Now the issue here is hope i haven't caused a fight between two friends and i love my first girlfriend sad

Any advise cos to go out tomorrow is a issues for me

FamilyRe: UPDATE: Snake In My Roof by mipeesoft(m): 10:37pm On May 15, 2023
Almost everyone lives with snakes in their apartments especially if your area is a new site, but the good thing is that if you don't bother them they won't attack you. In February 2020, I saw a life big brown snake right in my sitting room of 2 storey building, we lived precisely at the last floor, how it got there remain a mystery to everyone that heard about it. Later, I remembered that I got a new set of chairs for the living room and the furniture man's workshop was a bit bushy, so I suspected that the snake hide in one of the chairs at the man's workshop. I couldn't stand the sight of the reptile so I called for help and the snake was killed. God really safe my little children becausethe reptile was with them in the living room while they were watching cartoon on that day and only God knows for how long we had been living with the snake. What surprised me most was that, exactly one month after, I was down with a strange illness that almost cut short my life, if not for GOD I wont be here sharing this story. All the prescribed drugs by the doctor were not working for me, so that made to go spiritual. Bros if yours is spiritual too please don't waste time to tackle it appropriately, delay maybe dangerous.
I wish you luck and good health.
xavuv:
Here is an update about the snake that took abode in my roof. Here is the link to the first thread i created about it in 2019.

https://www.nairaland.com/5186645/snake-roof

UPDATE
•••••••••

I will try to be detailed as much as possible. You might draw one or two lessons from it, or you can simply discard it altogether.

___
After a heavy fumigation in 2019, my family and i left the house for a few days. Upon returning, i thought there is no way in hell that the reptile up there in my roof would survive this fumigation.

Since returning home, we live easy and slept peacefully without any funny sound or movement in the roof, so we thought the snake is probably dead or something.

Even up to 3 months after the fumigation i still throw away dead lizards in my compound, meaning that the fumigation was very strong. And still no sound in my roof, nothing.

A little while later and towards ending of 2019 and through out 2020, lo and behold the snake is still living and thriving up there. Again we began hearing the sound of it's movement, slithering movement/sound. One can tell that it's big snake just hearing how it slithers around with joy.

Snake is Mostly active at night. During daytime it usually stays in a certain location inside roof, and changes location during night time. Just as if it has room and parlour up there.

The reality of the situation became registered in our minds. Real fear began setting in.

I threw powdered garlic, several hard boiled eggs inside the ceiling, and this certain leaf that repels snake (i have forgotten its name), all inside the ceiling but it seems none worked.

Reasons for the fear:

1. Constant nightmares experienced by myself and my wife.

2. Other private things i can't mention here.

Regarding the constant nightmares, i contacted a man here on nairaland, Ebankole, he has his own website now. I told him some of these dreams which he interpreted saying there is a stranger in our home ( didn't even mention about the snake to him), he even told me some other things regarding my family (wife, kids and i) which i never mentioned to him and all he said checked out correct!.

He's true seer.

Note that i have never met him in person, we only communicate on nairaland but mostly through his website.

That was when i started serious praying & fasting as advised by Ebankole. A xtian family here anyway but i l rarely go to church except on Dec 31st, but my wife goes every Sundays and other days.

Talking to fellow landlords.

Towards mid 2021, its beginning to dawn on me that i have a Very serious issue at hand. I approached a fellow landlord just opposite my home. He's a very elderly man. I told him about what i have been grappling with. He queried why i kept quite for long. Well, im a very quite person in our community. I mind my business.

We went to see an Islamic cleric in a nearby town. After briefing and debriefing, this is what the cleric told me verbatim: you have been sleeping and waking up with dark unseen entities/demons.

Eventually he said he and other clerics would have to come to my house to pray and recite Quranic verses and that the snake and other dark entities would leave thereafter.

I didn't go back.

Soon after, I approached my CDA chairman on a Saturday after a landlord's meeting, i told him about the guest in my roof. He was surprised that how could it be.

He came to my home, inspected and saw that truly that snake can't get down into the house because of the POP ceiling everywhere, but what's the snake eating all these while?

He also noted the following:

1. that could the snake be leaving the roof to go hunt for food outside and return inside the roof when ever it so wishes. And that if this so then its not natural.

2. that Is there a way lizards or rats gain entrance into the roof, thereby making themselves easy snacks for the snake? But this is most unlikely because i have since blocked all tiny crevices that tiny lizards can use to gain entrance into the roof, and i showed it to him.

Oh i almost forgot, he advised that i cut a small part of the outside ceilng, that maybe the snake can have a easy way out. I used PVC for outside ceiling, so i removed a small plastic from the PVC ceiling outside.

Eventually, he promised to get intouch with a snake charmer, maybe they can help call the snake out from the roof. I called our chairman again a few times to ask about the Charmer he said he's Gonna bring to my home but he kept posting me.

My journey into the CCC ( Celestial church)

Will continue tomorrow. Feeling sleepy now.

If you ever lived in a face to face house that has upstairs Omo you don live for another world bi dat. If you live in such place you must have broad experience about life.
Kudos to the author
AsomStructures:
1. It’s sometimes called Face Me I slap you due to the incessant fights daily. E ma ja ju. If you don’t fight, someone will fight you. You must fight. "Ta lo gbe omi ti mo pon sibi?" (Ija de).

2. You can never go hungry unless you don’t know your way around. Enter the kitchen at the backyard and start whining who’s cooking. Drop small gist about another neighbor, walahi waa jeun ju. Gbenusi no be atenu.

3. There’s always that man who will claim he has been living in the house before the house was even built. They are always proud of the years they have lived there. They know everyone and when they were given birth to. (Ancestor Tenant)

4. There will be this group of girls living together. They are always at home during the day except at night. Mothers always warn their children not to enter their room. "Ti mo ba ri e ninu yara awon Anti yen, maa fe lu e daku" but these sisters are always kind. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

5. There must be an old woman who settles a fight. Mama of the house. She is always sitting outside monitoring what is happening on the street. In most cases, she's the landlady. They always have nicknames like "Iya Jeje" "Iya Kofewahala" "Iya Cele".

6. There’s always a landlord wannabe whom everyone hates. He acts like the landlord and he’s always like “Don’t pour waste there” “Pay your nepa bill” and "We will lock this gate by

7pm" bla bla. You will think his name is in the Landlord's will but he's a tenant too. Gboromideleru

8. There must be a regular debtor who doesn’t pay his bills on time, he pays January bills by April. Always coming up with excuses. "My mama just die", the same thing he said last year. Ogbontarigi onigbese

9. One rich tenant must be in the house, he will keep buying things his landlord can never afford. He owes small rent but he’s using 4 ACs, 2 deep freezers, 17 flatscreen TVs, and 54 generators. The landlord hates him but he can't send him away because omo buruku lojo tie.

10. There’s always that Single Aunty who is neat. She will be between 35 to 40 years, speaks good English, and doesn’t like to mingle with other women in the house. (Children call her Aunty). It is the day you look for her trouble you will know that werey wa nle.

10. Every Face Me I face you comes with a fight merchant who can fight till tomorrow. Always representing home and away (Street Fighter). Fijabi igboro 🙌. She will always come home with torn singlets. Werey tun ti lo ja. Everyone in the compound fears her. Even her parents.

At least, 16 fights per month. Tenanté de WWE 🙌.

12. There’s this big boy who brings different girls home, fine room. Always disturbing everyone with loudspeakers

13. There’s always a Gbeborun-General of the whole house. She sees everything, knows everything, and gossips about everything. The moment you hear "shey e ti gbo", just know you are getting served. Her name is always mentioned during every fight. Olofofo

14. Every morning, parents spend 5 hours bath one child outside. These boys are strong. I no dey bath, na by force

15. Sunday meetings are always like this. The landlord is on the high table and everyone keeps ranting and ranting. After 465 suggestions, the landlord won't do any. No item 7 sha o.

16. Every house has that woman that can send children on errands ehn. All the children dislike her. The moment she enters the passage or calls a name, the children will run into their rooms and act like they are asleep. She will never go anywhere herself afi bi afishe.

17. So far it's a Face Me I face you in Bariga, you will always see this tanker everymonth. Awon kogbe kogbe. The entire street will smell for days but o ti mo wa lara.

18. There's always a woman who uses song to insult people during a fight. These people can be very talented. She will use the song to insult and kickstart a fight.

TravelRe: My Trip To Russia & Teaching Experience In Russia by mipeesoft(m): 7:17pm On Dec 28, 2022
WOW..... you've changed my wild perspective about Russians and Putin. Enjoy your stay over there broh, GOD bless Russia.
mushroomFarm:
Recently I saw this front page post about what it feels like to teach in the United Kingdom.
.
I recently travelled to Yakutsk, Russia, world's coldest city to study Medicine here at Ammosov North Eastern Federal University, Yakutsk, Russia, for a degree of 'Doctor of Medicine. M.D (yes they don't award MBBS here but MD.)
.
.
As a part time job, I teach English here in Yakutsk and it is a job where demand for native speakers like Africans is very very high. Russians don't speak English but they continue to look for English teachers which makes it a good destination for English speaking Africans like us.
.
.
Teaching here in Russia is completely different from what I read in that post about teaching in the United Kingdom and in this thread, I will tell you everything about it.
.
.
Let me quickly note that, Russians are totally different from what we always read about them. I am a pro western person because my dad studied for his degrees in the USA. I grew up loving the West. I still love them.
.
But Russians are no monster. There is nothing like Racism here. These people love blacks toooo much! From Moscow to Krasnoyarsk to Yakutsk even while I was the only black man at the entire airports, the attention and love and help everyone offered was amazing!

Russians seem to have this welcoming attitude. It was hard for me to believe they were the same people I used to think, were 'hard' and 'unfriendly' lots of pictures, selfies, there were even these Russian guys that paid $500 for me to have 30 minutes of massage in a massage chair, they bought all sort of foods and even expensive alcohols for me...too bad, I don't take alcohol though.
.
.
Having said these things, I plead with us not to turn this thread into a Russia vs USA thread.
.
.
.
So, after I obtained my Visa letter, I approached the Russian embassy, did all my authorization and legalization of documents including the ones I have to do at the ministries of education and foreign affairs. I got my Visa for 119k and everything was over within a week.
.
.
My flight to Abuja was on overland air. It was my first flight. People castigate this airline alot but trust me, they have the best safety records in this country and they are extremely cheap. They have been operating for a long time too and the pilots are extremely experienced. And I love the sound of those props!
.
.
My flight back to Ilorin after obtaining my Visa was also on Overland air. I enjoyed every bit of the experience. I booked my flight to Moscow one month ahead and paid only 268k. I will attach evidence if possible.

Let me also mention that I took off to Moscow from Lagos. My flight to Lagos was on Overland air again. I booked the flight the same morning I left Ilorin...because it was the at the peak of the dollar crisis. Till the very last day in Ilorin, I was still looking for Abokis to buy dollars from.

You must have figured out already that I love overland air.
.
.
My flight to Moscow was to have a stop over in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. On the six hours flight to Ethiopia, Ethiopian air served us three course meals and each meal came with a bottle of wine!
.
They also served us a three course meal on the trip from Addis Ababa to Moscow, also with wine. From fish to chicken to snacks to rice... That airline is awesome!! I am quiet happy that we have something like that in Africa.
.
.
Ethiopian air hostess are very nice and extremely beautiful. You would be amazed that they are Africans. I met these little kids travelling with their dad to the UK on the flight and they sure made my experience all fun. They never stopped asking questions...
.

I was sad for Nigeria when we arrived Ethiopia. It was at night but the so many skyscrapers, the well lighted cities and the hundreds of Ethiopian air jumbo jets at the airport...that country is way ahead.
.
.
The treatment Ethiopian air gave us at their waiting lounge in Addis Ababa was awesome
.
.
On the flight from Ethiopia to Moscow, I was the only black guy on board. This was were my Russian language that I had started learning online before leaving Nigeria started to kick in. Ethiopian air hostess could not communicate with some Russians on board and I was able to do some little translations.
.
.
I noticed our flight was not directly to Moscow. It was diverted through Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran and then to Moscow, perhaps to avoid the Ukraine war zone Cux from the inflight map, flying directly to Moscow will entail passing through the Ukrainian airspace.
.
.
It was a smooth night flight.
.
.
From Domodedovo airport in Moscow, I travelled by taxi to Vnukovo airport. It cost about 33k naira equivalent of the rubles.
.
Russia is extremely DEVELOPED! Many European cities can't compare to what I saw in Moscow.
I used to think Russia is a country that is all focused on making war machines...it is not true. The infrastructures, the houses, the environment...it was like a dream!

From Vnukovo airport, I took another flight to Krasnoyarsk City. And at Krasnoyarsk, I was beginning to feel the extreme cold of Russia grin
.
.
From Krasnoyarsk, I took another flight to Yakutsk. And it's a white city filled with thick snows. Average daily temperature at this time is minus 40 degrees Celsius and can sometimes deep to minus 60.
.
University representatives were already waiting for me at Yakutsk airport and they even came with a hot pot of coffee (remember I told you about Russians being extremely nice to foreigners)
.
.
.
Now to the pictures. But let me quickly add these points
.
.
1. Russia have a very serious drug law. If your plan is to snuggle drugs across the continent please don't come to Russia!!
.
2. Police here are extremely nice. No one harassed me at the airport, no unnecessary checks. I was never asked to strip, they don't assault your dignity. But when passing through checking machines you have to remove thick clothings like sweaters and coats and gloves too.
.
3. Interestingly, some common items like more than 100ml of aerosols or perfumes are not allowed to go with you into the plane (carry on bag) while some things you would think are normal are contrabands in Russia. I had two bottle of perfumes clearly labelled but before I go through each checks, I remove them and declare them to the officers in charge of the checks. They would look at it and asked me to out it into my tray and slide it into the checking machine. Whenever you are travelling abroad maybe not even Russia, if there is any item you are not sure of it's legibility to enter that country or plane, always remove it from your luggage and declare it to the officers before you are checked. This way, if the item is a contraband, they would be sure you are not trying to smuggle it in.
.
4. I really wish Nigerian policing system can be like that of Russia. No road blocks, no harassment, they are glad to help. If a police officer finds you shivering outside they may invite you to have hot coffee and warm up in their car!
.
.
5. THERE IS NO WAR IN RUSSIA!
.
.
.
6. CONTRARY TO POPULAR OPINIONS, RUSSIANS LOVE THE AMERICANS! Yes many Russians want to go to America. Sometimes they even assume all of us blacks are from America and they treat us with love and respect.
.
7. Russians are probably the only white race in the world that do not hate black people.
.
.
8. I know foreigners are being watched but trust me, you are being watched in Nigeria more than in Russia. Contrary to popular opinion, president Vladimir Putin does not 'hunt down' his perceived enemies. People have freedom here but at least 90% of Russians I have met, love him.
.
.
9. President Vladimir Putin is very friendly to Africans. Russian immigration laws makes it easy for Africans to come study in Russia and when you are here, they don't harass nor bully you and they don't treat you like second class citizens.
.
.
10. And finally...language is a big barrier in Russia..but their police and immigrations are very friendly.
.
.
.
Now to the pictures. (I had to source some pictures from the internet)
.
The first pictures are
Ilorin International airport.
Abuja International airport and
Lagos international airport.

I saw shege at Lagos airport where I took off to Moscow. Bribes upon bribes. Nigeria is ruined honestly...everyone kept begging for money. Money that I obtained at an extremely high rate.
.
.
I also had to deposit 400k naira with Ethiopian air before they could let me board Cux I had no return ticket. They refunded the money to me three days after successfully crossing into the Russian Federation.

In Ethiopia and Russia, nothing like bribery. That is why it felt so weird when the officers are helping you with everything without asking for a Kobo and you can't help it but to keep thanking them.

Nigerians are good people, they applaud the government when they take good actions. Let Nigerians see the actions you're taking against erring officers and you will see us applauding you and your colleagues shikena.

These ones have either lost their jobs or they are getting transferred to the most remote places soon.

There will be action. The problem with social media people is that they expect action to take place immediately. Plus, the action won't go as viral as the initial situation as Nigerians are more interested in things that paint the force/government in bad light.
