You are just trying to be sarcastic. The states you mentioned, find out the reason why APC lost. For instance, the people of Oyo state wanted to teach Ajimobi (the self acclaimed constituted authority) to be humble. Oyo people were at peace with the APC candidate, Mr. Adelabu . It was unfortunate that he was riding on Ajimobi"back". It was not as if they really wanted GSM.

I see Obaseki as a political novice. He ought to have decamped to PDP and muster support from grassroot.Align with Tambuwal and Wike together with d faction of APC that's with him.
There are some fight you lose as a member of a family but will win if you are not in that family.
His fall is imminent. The Oshiomole camp will win Edo even if they will leave Ondo for d Fayemi Camp.
He's not a novice like you pointed out. He has thought of the move and found it is not his best bet. About 30% of Edo people are Moslems for your record. As it stands today, there's politics of religion played in Nigeria besides ethnicity. An average moslem believes APC is his party irrespective of who is field.
If he has detected to PDP, he will lose woefully.

Let me make it clear for those who isn't aware but come online to boast of how Obaseki will defeat Oshiomhole in this political battle. Majority of those in Obaseki government were once with Oshiomhole and they are die-hard Oshiomhole foot soldiers, including Osaro Obazee that picked nomination form and Osaigbovo Iyoha (Gbovo) that's Obaseki PA. Now this is the secret, so many persons would have wondered why Obaseki has been going on with this battle like a political novice, the person advising him on this is Chief Osaro Idah, he is Obaseki political adviser, he was also Oshiomhole political adviser and foot soldier, lastly, he was and still part of Ize-iyamu clique. So he has been advising Obaseki wrongly just to finish him politically. Expect more defection before the primary, the kind of defection that will surprise and shock Obaseki.
Hon Paul Ohonbamu was a member of Edo State House of Assembly and one of those that stood by Oshiomhole during the time EDHA had issues with PDP and Goodluck. He was personally compensated by Oshiomhole to run for HOR representing Ikpoba-Oka/Egor Federal constituency but lost to Hon EG Agbonayima in 2015 and because of his loyalty to the course, Oshiomhole personally recommended him to Obaseki as a commissioner...is this this same person that will end up betraying Oshiomhole when the die is cast? Someone should please tell Obaseki to go and sleep because he would have totally dissolved his cabinet and appoints new people when the battle with Oshiomhole started, but rather he continued using Oshiomhole and now also Ize-iyamu cliques and expect to win. So sad of him
Obaseki, agreed is a technocrat and not a politician. Like you rightly said, he would have dropped Oshomhole "boys" long time ago. That was the strategy Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State adopted. He picked his "men" and those whom Akpabio never wanted as cabinet members. For the PDP state excos that were/are Akpabio men, he gave them enough "sweet" and "chewing gum".

I will rather go and use my money to invest on poultry or something lucrative instead of going for a postgraduate studies in Nigeria again.

With our wicked lecturers who are still teaching in an archaic way and with an outdated syllabus.

It is only in Nigeria a lecturer would be telling you that you can be better than me, because I was never given the opportunity to outshine my lecturers while I was in school.

After postgraduate, what next still be job hunting.

I have alot of my mate we finished together long time ago who are still at home after their postgraduate studies, though it is good at least it would give you edge over your peer when you finally land that federal job.

I always tell people, do it when you have a future in lecturing

EducationRe: I Have Been Withdrawn From Medical School. I Can't Tell My Parents by Mires: 10:31pm On Jun 03, 2020
sagna112:
My name is Uche a 100Level supposed medicine and surgery student of a Nigerian University, I used to be very brilliant and that was what instigated me to apply for Medicine and Surgery after acquiring an aggregate score of 270 in both JAMB and POST-UTME Examinations, I was then admitted a years ago into a university.

I am the only child of my parents, they have spent so much on me just to make sure I become a doctor, dad had to sell one of his plots of land to pay for my registration fees, purchase a brand new laptop, a phone and clothes for me and all my needs, Mum who has no job since she was sacked by the state government will always try to send the little that will pass through her, when I think of the way she announced to her friends when I gained admission to study Medicine it brings tears from my eyes.

It will be an injustice on me to be blamed or for me to blame myself, I know the effort I have also made, I have always taken my studies serious, I never missed any lecture, I neither miss assignments nor tests, I sit at the front of the class, I don't keep bad gangs, I have never attended a party, sometimes I do RTDB (Read Till Day Break), what is then my offense? why me?

At the end of my 100 level Second semester my CGP was reading 4.2 without a single carryover, I was very happy because I thought I had scaled through the danger zone.

The unexpected occurred when I logged into the school portal at the end of my Second Semester Examination to check my result, I cleared all the courses with A's and B's but a course was reading Carryover, I nearly fainted when I saw the result, it was a biology course I offered in second semester to me the course was the simplest of all. I did not inform my parents because I din not want to dishearten them.

The school resumed, so I went to my HOD and complained, she took me to the Exam office who searched thoroughly for my script and from what I saw it was obvious I failed, I scored 32% and was asked to change department, my HOD advised that I go to Biological Sciences, my eyes were filled with tears.

How do I tell my parents this, it only mean I have brought shame to them. I have remained in school since then crying from one angle to another I don't know whether to go home to my parents to inform them of the truth or keep telling them lies.

I need your sincere advice.
So sorry. This must be Bio 152 in UNN

No I never said so. I don't even know what happens in Uniport politics. The last time I remembered Uniport was several years ago when I asked Prof (then, Dr.) Okechukwu Onuchukwu to assist me to secure admission through supplementary admission with 250 JAMB score. He gave me his assurance. Fortunately, he didn't follow it up. The subsequent year, I wrote again and found myself in one of the leading first generation Universities where my research skills were sharpened.

I know that the uniport vc will be transferred to another state to be returning officer but at least half of the lecturers that will be adhoc staffs in a state are usually shortlisted by the vc of a particular school.
I never said that Governor Wike will influence the emergence of Uniport VC

Haaaa...I am a keen follower of UI academic succession because it is an established system.

.....producing a Muslim VC? You are correct. E no go happen, at least this year grin

I know as well some who took it as well nah, and one who was appointed by OBJ yet resigned after months and even did thanksgiving that she couldnt cope with the system.

If you mention one who declined some of all these positions, I will mention five or six to one in that same UI.

A few ones might strictly want to be academicians to the core but the younger ones are overly ambitious.

The FG has opted for the DVC-issue, Provost, Dean etc. because they don't want a VC to get there and start learning the job. They need someone who already have a heads-up but yet this isn't even a rule.

Wish them all well.
I am sorry that some of your submission I don't understand. When it comes to Ui, there's orderliness in administration. For instance, in other Universities, you find a situation where some academics with MSc or PhD are Head of Departments. In the case of Ui, once there's no Professor in a particular Department, of course, very rare, whoever who must have attained the position of SL and possesses PhD act in that capacity as Acting HOD.

Furthermore, before any academic assumes the position of Dean, he/she must have ear?her held the position of Head. In the same vein, to qualify for DVD, one must have become Dean of Faculty or Provost of Post Graduate College. And to become a VC, despite the required minimum of five years as Professor (NUC requirement), applicant must have at least held a position as Dean or Provost.

Abeg, make i leave University politics joor.

I agree with your first paragraph.I have been wondering why it is only two profs in the whole uniport that are contesting.
I don't know anything about ui so I won't go there
At that level, most professors analyzed their chances of winning with precision before declaring their interest. In add, you and I can't conclude that only two Profs are contesting for the position. It could be said that two of them are shortlisted for the visitor of the University to choose.. In most instances, the governing council often times submit names of three professors who are certified to have passed the interview process to the visitor for selection.

Most of the adhoc staffs that will come from uniport will be recommended by the vc
Until you understand that Wike is not a arm chair politician, your argument doesn't hold water. For your record, returning officer can't be from University of Port Harcourt. That's if INEC chairman decides to continue with Prof. Jega's template.

You no know......who no wan be VC!?

UI's own is the one am following closely, cos that one is usually academic and technical..there is little external influence can do to it. All the fights na for inside cheesy
Not all professors are politicians. There are professors, better still, academics that are contented with their positions. I have seen a number of Professors in Ui who were recommended for ministerial and political appointments, they decline. One of such is Emeritus Professor Oyejide of the School of Economics. Some have even turned down Headship and Deanship and asked younger Professors who are interested to take over in that regards.

As for Ui VC succession, the tradition most often times is one of the DVCs sponsored by outgoing VCs. Observers are not expecting anything less. What observers are keenly watching is if the exit of Prof. Abel Olayinka would usher in a moslem VC in Ui for the first time. I doubt.

the fact that Nigerian schools don't get rated high doesn't mean they are substandard, it simpy means they are under funded for research and have less papers published in academic journals... in terms of lecturing and delivering knowledge which is the primary responsibility of a uni, I bet you they far out class many , our graduates in Nigerian University are breaking bariers in top colleges overseas, my very own sister who graduated with 2.2 in accounting LeadCity Uni Ibadan , proudly graduated with 2.1 and almost clinching 1st class in law.. in University of Liverpool

PS: I haven't even attended a pubic institution anytime in my entire life nursery to uni was in privates, but I have seen lautech , U.I , OAU, and UniLag graduates do what many grads of other schools cant

I don't want to sound insensitive to her case but she is to be blamed for what happened to her at UNN. I stil like her courage and determination in fighting till last. She is welcomed to the noble profession of druggist.
You are somewhat correct. I don't understand when students as well as graduates testify that they were given fake admission. I some times see it as desperation on the part of the student(s) that landed such people into the mess. For instance, I was denied admission three consecutive times after scoring above 200 and successive score in them. However that didn't make me desperate. When I finally had a score that was convincing that no federal University in Nigeria can deny me admission, I was not only happy, I was confident while in the lions den (UNN) whenever we hear certificate verification is to be taken place that I am free. Mind you, I was offered admission in three federal University (same course) but I chose UNN.

During registration and certificates verification at Ekpo Ref, I wasn't scared. Final year certificate verification, I only paid the required money we were asked and I went to sleep.

In summary, we should be sure that we are not doing what we are not supposed to do. It backfires more especially in UNN. Shalom

Slimbumzky:
Ok.This is how it works.Assuming Dangote sells a bag of cement to his distributors at the cost of 2300 a bag,he then gives them a target of 45000(500 trucks) bags every month to qualify for a rebate. He could say the rebate is 100naira per bag.In order to meet target and earn the rebate,a distributor can sell a bag for 2270 to fasten sales and meet up with the target, knowing fully well that the rebate(commision)will still be enough to cushion that initial loss of 30naira and still put him or her on good profitability.
Mathematically,u buy 2300
You sell 2270.
You intially run a loss of 30.
Then you meet sales target and earn additional 100naira
When u subtract ur initial loss of 30 from the earned rebate of 100 naira,u have made a profit of 70naira.
Most times, due to this particular reason,Dangote distributors sell at a slightly cheaper rate than the company price.
Nice analysis. However, 45,000 bags is 50 trucks

Let's be very sincere who destroyed the university system? Is it not the same professors who do nothing , no research, mismanage grants, dont write papers just sit and award grades and come to lectures when they feel like.
The truth is in in Niggeria everyone wants to be paid for doing nothing. Working hard is seen as suffering. Everyone wants to be millionaire overnight na him cause this wahala. You have a system that is overburdened with too many employees who are not showing any tangible results for the pay they take.
The day the government stops being a charity organization then we will see progress
Research? Do you know what it cost to carry out a detailed research? You expect a Nigerian Professor to do that with his stipend in the absent of research grant. I don't know why some of you just hate academics as if they are the reason you had bad grade while in school.

I know a number of my colleagues that we have discussed the payment structure and they have regretted wasting their lives in academics. They are all PhD holders. Yesterday one was telling me the same. She said our lecturers lifestyle when we were undergraduate students misled us into this profession with suffering and nothing to take home with.

Believe me, if this payment structure continues, only mediocrities will be in Nigerian University system. The money itself has been like that before IPPIS, only that some of the deductibles weren't deducted.
