Obaseki shouldn't have responded. Do you wonder why Tinubu said this at the election week and not before? Obaseki should have allowed Wike or Atiku to respond. These gimmicks are meant to distract him and they are working.

Oshiomole was Buhari and Tinubu's candidate and Obaseki openly challenged him, which is equivalent to challenging the President and Tinubu. He also insulted Tinubu by saying Edo is not Lagos. He further insulted the President by announcing his resignation from APC at the Presidential villa. That said, win or lose, Obaseki needs to make peace with Tinubu, Oshiomole and co. If he loses on Saturday, that is the end of his political career and international appointments. I feel for him. Oshiomole, hate him or love him, is a dogged fighter and has never lost any battle in his professional life. This election would either further mystify him or totally demystify. The stakes are too high.

It is unfortunate that the general public and some bloggers do not understand the use of the term "lecturer". Even in Nigerian contest, one who stands before students to deliver instruction in College of Education is not a lecturer but instructor. Same goes with polytechnic and even university until the person grows through the ranks in the case of MSc holder to become Lecturer 2 onward.

I really need clarification from bankers and experienced persons in the house. A friend of my lost her father recently and they have started receiving their father’s entitlement which was paid into the account domiciled with a Nigerian bank operated by the deceased.

However, my friend’s mum lost their dad’s ATM, so they reported to the bank with the death certificate and requested for a new ATM or the money moved to another account but the bank is now asking for a letter of Administration and they will take 10% of the money left in the deceased account.

My grouse is not the letter of administration but the 10% they are asking on another person’s entitlement. Is there any law backing this? How can we go about it because the money is a substantial amount?

It is legal. Your friend did not get the information correctly. Bank is not taking any money. Once the letter of administration is issued for the deceased estate, 10% (varies between 5 to 10 depending on the state) of the estate must be paid to the state judiciary upon which the judiciary will put a stamp on it after the bank has boldly written the total estate. On presentation of receipt to bank, the estate will be transferred accordingly.

In the judiciary, your friend can talk with the judiciary officer to assist and cut off some. For instance, if the 10% amounts to N6million in the case where the deceased left N60m, he can plead to pay N2.5. If he finds favour in the judiciary officer, na him luck. Nigerian system is already messed up. But if he does not, he should go and find the N6m given that he will pay first before the N60m can be transferred to him.

If I were you, he will pay me interest amounting to at least N100,000 in addition to the N15,000. That will help him to learn. Otherwise, I will ensure his accounts are blocked.

I understand Obaseki annoyance. But wisdom demands a man should speak less and act at the right time.

Those people who claimed to have the accounts swept must have mistakenly revealed their pins to these criminals especially those those calls and text messages from unanimous callers telling you that your ATM has expired or the banks need to upgrade your account details and that you should send them some certain details. It takes insider in the banks to divert funds from your account and not these bank hackers. Most importantly keep your pins and Sims linked to the account safe

That was how one idiot called me few days ago. After mentioning my official names, he proceeded to tell me that he is Adebayo, calling me from my bank, First Bank. That I have not responded to the message they sent me. I decided to waste his air time by playing along with him. I quickly told him, I am sorry about that. He continued, that my date of birth appears two, hence, there is need to correct it. I told him okay. He went on. Which other bank do you have account? I told him it is only First Bank, meanwhile I don't even know the road to any First Bank branches. The idiot having felt that I wanted to waste his airtime hanged the call.

Him format no be for person like me. If he had waited, I would have requested him to send me air time so that I can quickly send him the information.

Your BVN Cannot be used to withdraw money from your account . Your debit card is what you should keep safe.

Thanks so much. But the exchanger which I have been using for some years without any negative story requested for that. It seems the essence in addition to verification is because the said debit card will be used to fund the wallet for trading.
