So now there is a 2yrs work permit. My question is what happens after the 2yrs work permit expires? Can one still stay back or you have to leave. I don't want to invest so much into relocating to UK and then have to leave after after the 2yrs work permit expires. Please someone should clarify me.

She never said she brought the nanny from the village. She said she employed her so the nanny doesn't owe her anything. There is a difference between someone you brought into your house from the village to help and someone you employed for a job in your house whom you have no relations with. The former needs to alert you before moving on with her life while the other doesn't owe you an explanation.
Christmasdon:
. lets say You brought someone to township feed this person for a month or two grace found this person and park out of ua appartment without letting u know and starts his/her own company and becomes wealthy don't you think you will be angry for zooming out of ua house like that. my dear lets reason like a human being.

The FIL should seek her consent for what? Is she the nanny's mother, guardian or the one that gave her life? She was only an employee of the lady, she doesn't have any control or say in her life. The former nanny doesn't need the woman's blessings, she isn't her mother. What both of them need is mutual respect. Small scale employers always feeling like mini gods.
Christmasdon:
this peel is too hard for her to swallow don't you get it. nobody carried her along before father in law start sleeping with her. the father in law should have met with his sons wife and declare his love intentions to marry her own nanny you get this is not morally right. tell the woman that brought her in. the nanny should go and apologise to her madam and the madam would give her the nanny her blessings and everyone would live in peace.

You really don't know much about school of nursing.
I rest my case

That is why I said I don't know much about the school of nursing, I didn't call them quacks except they are not trained by qualified lectures for a certain number of years.

Nsayorbung:
You are wrong please.
The Nigerian Education System needs reforming to accommodate your claim.
School of Nursing is 3 years and you get awarded a Registered Nurse certificate after passing the board exams. Same one university Nursing students take in Yr 4 or so. They are not quacks.
I did that and then midwifery for 18 months.
I'm now enrolled in OAU's distance learning and there is a only a few new things I'm learning other than getting the certification.
The UK acknowledges the training gotten from the schools of Nursing in Nigeria.
You only have to right and pass some Nursing theory and practical examinations.

Quack nurses are those trained in the hospital by selfish doctors and in the local patent medicine stores.
Please don't call a Registered Nurse Quack.
Let the Nigerian Education System do the needful conversion which i wholly support, but till then, School of Nursing graduates ain't and will never be quacks.
Thank you.

Can you imagine, this is how they go about killing people. I don't advice people to take injections in this country especially children, if it is not drugs then I'm not taking. That was how a mother on the newborn babies thread almost lost her child after an injection.

highbee02:
A woman came for teaching practice in my school. She studied Biology and integrated Science at NCE level and has a degree certificate in Health Education (sandwich). She's working in a Dispensary & maternity center under one of the local governments in the state. I was surprised seeing this woman giving injection to a patient, I called her aside and asked "were u trained to give injection?" The reply she gave me was " she has learnt how to give injection from the nurse incharge.

The so called nurse is also a product of Health Tech.

I am in nigeria but I didn't school here that is why I don't really know much about the school of nursing. The government is to blame for all this nonsense, if only they would pay surprise visits to the hospital and check their certificates the same way ministry of education does to private school teachers. Those quack nurses won't exist as hospitals would be scared to hire them.
yunqdady:
Seems you aren't in Nigeria.
In Nigeria SONs are legal. That was how nursing education started world over. In UK and USA, SONs still abound. University programs for nursing started much later.

SONs graduates aren't quacks.
The quacks are those who went the apprenticeship way, enroll in abattoirs called hospitals to 'learn' nursing. Sadly the law isn't active against them in Nigeria. The perpetrators (doctors) get away with it. Not minding that these people Re danger to the society.
Health › Re: The Menace Of Quack Nurses, My Experience by missidy: 5:05pm On Oct 16, 2021
Ok, I don't really know much about it. If those school of nursing don't have professors or experienced lectures, then they are producing quacks. I saw the way nursing students who we went to the same university suffered, that course is not an easy one at all. They never had holidays. During hols we would be flexing, while they were in the hospital or having classes. Then someone who learnt by the corner would come and be dragging nurse title with those who earned it. Worst still putting people's lives in danger.

yunqdady:
In Nigeria there are two pathways to being a Registered Nurse. One is through university(5years) and another through accredited schools of nursing(3years), just like college of education.
If not for greed and lack of foresight, the schools of nursing should not be in existence anymore but this is Nigeria
Health › Re: The Menace Of Quack Nurses, My Experience by missidy: 4:49pm On Oct 16, 2021
I don't know much about school of nursing. I believe it should be under a university or even if it stands alone, then the nurses should be trained for 4 years and awarded a degree. Anything short of that is producing quacks.
ukaface:
what of people that went to school of nursinghuh
Health › Re: The Menace Of Quack Nurses, My Experience by missidy: 4:44pm On Oct 16, 2021
I thought a school of nursing is under a university? I believe school of nursing is a qualified institution so far as you completed 4 years there and you are awarded a degree.

Lagusta:
@bolded

Don't let registered nurses come for you o, getting a degree just gives an edge. There are many schools of nursing and midwifery in Nigeria and they train very lovely nurses
Health › Re: The Menace Of Quack Nurses, My Experience by missidy: 10:09am On Oct 16, 2021
Honestly this is a big problem in this country, one of the reasons I'm scared of having a child in this country cos most hospitals are filled with quack nurses. My grandma was one of such nurses that didn't go to school but learnt in the hospital, she is very lucky no child died in her care as she was a delivery nurse. Ask her anything about drugs or child development, she will give wrong answers. I saw a thread where a doctor said his family didn't want him to marry his illiterate fiance, people were advising him to send her to a hospital to train as an auxiliary nurse. I was shocked, I weep for this country. If she kills someone now, they will be the same people to cry.

Nobody should be called a nurse except the person went to the university and acquired a bsc nursing degree. No wonder the health care system is a mess.

I have stopped giving her. I haven't given her any money this year yet she still begs during every call. I only gave her airtime last month. Even when you don't give, she still ask on the next call.

Kobojunkie:
Put an end to her begging or put an end to your giving to her? undecided

When you are ready to stop giving her, you won't need anyone to advice you on that at all. You already have numerous examples from those in your own family right there. undecided

I guess I will stop calling her except for Christmas and Easter. I know she will say I have stopped calling her because she asked for money, she has said it before. Lol

No they are not. They are not doing well, her son can be termed poor. She couldn't train them in school except the daughter who is a graduate (her father trained her).

Family › Tips on how to handle an aunt that begs a lot. by missidy(op):
Please I need tips on how to handle an aunt that begs a lot and has entitlement mentality. Everytime I call her she is always asking for money plus her entitlement mentality is irritating. This my aunt is very nice and prayerful, she caused her own poverty by having many children. When I was little she was always coming to the house to beg my dad for money, my dad got angry with her for giving birth to extra children for a man that she wasn't married to. I used to think my dad was wicked for not helping her but now that I am grown, I understand better. All her siblings (my uncles & aunt) have abandoned her since may years ago because her problem never ends. She is always begging and they have their own families to take care of.

Ever since I started working she is always asking for money. Last year a cousin of mine got married, she said I should send her transport fare to travel down to the village for the wedding. I wonder how that is my duty. Every phone call is always about money, if I say no money she will say send phone credit. Honestly I wouldn't mind the demands if she had at least contributed to my life but she has never done anything for me before. Even when my dad was misbehaving regarding my education, she was busy supporting him. Now that I am a graduate and working, she wants to reap where she didn't sow. The people who sacrificed for me (my aunt, grandma & brother) are the ones that deserve my money. I will spend any amount on them because they sacrificed to get me to where I am today. Even if they call to ask for money, I don't mind because they deserve it. Not this one that has never done anything for me before except praying.

Last week we went for my cousins wedding, my mum arrived before me and she called to tell me my aunt was praising me that I am the only one that calls her among all her siblings children. I am also the only one that sends her small money and credit. Nobody else calls her phone, she knows that when I make it I will take care of her. It made me realize that all my cousins don't call her, I am the only one she does this her begging with and she is pitching her tent for when things get better for me. She even told me the things I am supposed to buy for them when it is my own wedding, I was shocked. Even her own daughter doesn't beg, she carries herself with pride.

Please I need tips on what to say when I call and she ask for money? I always say I don't have much or things are hard but it doesn't stop her from asking the next time. Please what can I say or do to stop this nonsense without making her feel bad. I want to be like my other cousins that she can't even try to ask for anything. Thanks.

Your ignorance is alarming, in your mind you have succeeded in bashing ladies. Those are not symptoms of early menopause, rather they are symptoms of PCOS.

Opexzy:
Human anatomy is being affected in this our generation... And some women even find it difficult to concieve at prime age.
If you are a lady and your menstrual cycle is irregular at young age, your breast secretes milk even when you are not pregnant. It might be a sign of early menopause..

So many ladies are walking around ignorantly with symptoms that points to early sign of menopause today but they are more interested in getting iPhone 13, the next wig and bags. These type of ladies are the ones that will give that innocent man sleepless night because of their negligence.

If I hear wedding from your mouth when you never get belle.

Please I'm changing my specification. 2 bedroom for 600k in okota or Antony. Or a room and parlour for 450 in okota or surulere. Please a room and parlour that stands on its own as an apartment not the type that is cut out from another flat.
Thanks.

Please I need a 2 bedroom flat in okota, Aguda or ogunsanya surulere, Anthony Village. Budget is 500k. I would really appreciate if can get any suggestions, we have been searching for more than a year. Thanks.

Hmmm. Thanks. What about for 550k? Even if it is an old house. We've seen some in okota but either the landlords rejects based on tribe or they expect you to bring money and complete the house (totally empty building).

edoman2016:
its impossible to get 2 bedroom flat at 500k at those locations. Don't be deceived.
