thebosstrevor:Indiscipline. Nigerians, the majority, are very undisciplined, lacking in civility. This includes all Nigerians living anywhere in the world. Sorry to say. |

chieveboy:The Torah was not originally Jewish? ![]() This does not deserve a response. The rest of your post is a bit all over the place, i wish it were more concise. Do you need me to quote other scriptures where God instructed the author to write down his word/message in a book or stone tablet? There are countless others. |
budaatum:If humans can make mistakes, why do you choose science over the bible? Is science not the invention of humans? |
LordReed:This is a possibility |
Amujale:Humanity as we know it today has its roots in the garden of Eden. Everything that existed before the creation of this garden was destroyed by the cataclysmic events of the asteroids. The bible also confirms the belief that humanity began in what we refer to as Africa, although it would be North Africa to be precise. My comments regarding what science can confirm are in parenthesis below: Genesis 2:10-14 New International Version (NIV) 10 A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters. 11 The name of the first is the Pishon (believed to be the "Ganges) : it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold (India) 12 The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there. 13 The name of the second river is the Gihon (The Nile); it winds through the entire land of Cush (Ethiopia) 14 The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Ashur (Assyria). And the fourth river is the Euphrates. (the joining of Tigris and Euphrates is the site of ancient Babylon) Please note that the continents as we know it only formed over hundreds of years beginning with the great flood. North Africa and the middle east were one land mass going by Genesis since rivers cannot cut across a sea. This is the biblical proof that the flood brought about land movement/realignment, not in the exact way it is now but as a precursor to what scientists call tectonic plate movement. Genesis 7:11 New International Version (NIV) In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month— on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. Water burst forth from the ground as written above. The kind of force it would have taken to do this is enough to cause tectonic movements in the earth. |
LordReed:Adam was created on day 6, so there were five days before him. If we add up the dates from Adam to Abraham, we get about 2,000 years, using the Masoretic Hebrew text of Genesis 5 and 11.3 Whether Christian or secular, most scholars would agree that Abraham lived about 2,000 B.C. |
LordReed:It is very possible that along with the dinosaurs who lived before creation, there were also man-like species roaming the earth. Lucifer lost his place among the sons of God only to be cast out into a place (earth) where he made himself ruler of all things. By this, there was definitely something to rule over which might have included humans. Isaiah 14:12-14 New International Version (NIV) How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! Nations here means people, not countries, but people. And for Lucifer to be the morning star whose power could make the nations (people) lay low (worship), it means there was certainly a man-like species well before the creation story of Genesis. In order to avoid a situation where Lucifer would infect the earth with malice and evil, there was to be a renewal. This is where the asteroids rained down and destroyed all things, in the process making the earth to be without form, void (empty), and covered in darkness (it is said that when asteroids hit with enough force, it creates a blanket of smoke and dust). |
LordReed:I would be lying if i said that God himself said it anywhere himself. If you could read that again, you would see where science and religion agreed. The 4000 years before Christ was calculated based on the ages of the people that lived between Adam and the period of Jesus' birth, much like the same way you will be able to calculate how old your village/town is once you know the first person to inhabit it and then start adding the ages of his descendants to the present. It's just mathematics. |
Amujale:This is also true. What the bible dates as 4004 BC is the creation of man, animals, the garden, etc, not the earth as an entity itself. Lucifer the dragon had already been cast out due to his revolt and was inhabiting what we know as earth long before the story of creation. The earth became covered by darkness and was without form (this is a metaphor for inhabited), after the cataclysmic impact of an asteroid (scientists believe this is what destroyed the dinosaurs). Some bible scholars believe this asteroid hitting earth was a machination of God himself as a groundwork for the beginning of creation (anew, starting over) Revelation 21:5 English Standard Version (ESV) 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” The initial plan of God in the beginning was to create a perfect world inhabited by man without sin. A world where he would dwell among man as he did in the garden with Adam. This plan was interrupted by Lucifer, but God always prevails. The same asteroids which were used to make anew before the beginning will be used again as stated in the book of revelation, this time to wipe out all the remaining traces of evil in the world. This is the last plague as contained in the seventh vial to be delivered on the earth by the seventh angel. Revelation 16:21 New International Version (NIV) From the sky huge hailstones (asteroids), each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible. The age of creation should not be confused with the actual age of the geographical mass we call earth. chieveboy:The articles/letters/writings that made their way into what you now call the bible were decided by humans. This does not mean there are no compilations that contain all the masoretic scrolls, but one thing you can't deny is that God himself wanted history, stories, and his word , put down in writing for generations upon generations to read. Revelation 1:19 (New Living Translation) “Write down what you have seen —both the things that are now happening and the things that will happen. Revelation 10:4 (New Living Translation) When the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write. But I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Keep secret what the seven thunders said, and do not write it down. Second question: Who compiled the books of the bible? Is there a biblical guideline followed in this compilation? Thanks. The torah was first pieced together by Ezra the scribe, he was picked as a kind of leader after the Greeks conquered Israel. The first time the entirety of the discovered scrolls along with the torah, were put together was during the Rabbinical Council of Jamnia (AD 90). They were divided into inspired and uninspired books (Apocrypha), this is the guideline that was followed. |
LordReed:Of course, the Bible does not say explicitly anywhere, “The earth is 6,000 years old.” Good thing it doesn’t, otherwise it would be out of date the following year. But we wouldn’t expect an all-knowing God to make that kind of a mistake. God gave us something better. In essence, He gave us a “birth certificate.” For example, using a personal birth certificate, a person can calculate how old he is at any point. It is similar with the earth. Genesis 1 says that the earth was created on the first day of creation (Genesis 1:1–5). From there, we can begin to calculate the age of the earth. Let’s do a rough calculation to show how this works. The age of the earth can be estimated by taking the first five days of creation (from earth’s creation to Adam), then following the genealogies from Adam to Abraham in Genesis 5 and 11, then adding in the time from Abraham to today. Adam was created on day 6, so there were five days before him. If we add up the dates from Adam to Abraham, we get about 2,000 years, using the Masoretic Hebrew text of Genesis 5 and 11.3 Whether Christian or secular, most scholars would agree that Abraham lived about 2,000 B.C. (4,000 years ago). Quite a few people have done this calculation using the Masoretic text (which is what most English translations are based on) and with careful attention to the biblical details, they have arrived at the same time frame of about 6,000 years, or about 4000 B.C. Two of the most popular, and perhaps best, are a recent work by Dr. Floyd Jones and a much earlier book by Archbishop James Ussher (1581–1656) |

Among that evidence shown to the court by prosecutors late Tuesday were copies of social media posts saved and posted by Guyger some of which were about guns and killing. These were not enough to give her a full sentence. Even if she was innocent of manslaughter, she could not have escaped being charged with negligent homicide under Texas penal code. |
