He came at the right time when I needed someone to mend my broken heart from a failed relationship. At first, He was loving, caring and understanding. We were so attached to each other and that made me love him to the core. He is my best friend I love him sooooo much but at a point he began to withdraw from being whom I have known him to be. The MGTOW thread wasn't even the thread, where some vile comments touched me it was another one. Believe me I wanted to intervene for the person being attacked, but at the time I didn't have a registered account.

And when you go to bat for someone else, the bullies/abusers gang up against you, making you the new target. Unfortunately my vocabulary is limited when it comes to insults & vileness, the time and energy it also takes to engage on that level - I just don't have it.

I believe that prejudice and biases are natural and one of the major tools used to preserve cultures and civilizations in time past. Even today where the world is a global village, we still watch our kids' friends, pick friends that reflect our own values, join groups and communities that resonate with our values, pick the practical part of our religion best suited to us.

Also, most people are not taught to respect differences and see their own group as the 'best' or 'right one.' Hello religion!

As you rightly noted, we need to learn to respect the differences of others. We will still be biased however relate with others respectably.

So I am going to say it again, anyone that knows the school will never write it as Rutger’s it doesn’t make sense that way. You typed it too many times for it to be a typo or some spelling error, it shows you never heard of the school until you googled it. I am not ashamed in admitting my error but it seems you are too arrogant to do the same. I know you are itching for a back and forth but this is my last response to you.

Yes I did because it doesn't exist as a US name, but apparently the Dutch use ”Rutger”. The school was named after Mr. Rutgers. Again, in the US “Rutger” as a human name doesn’t exist. No one that knows the school will ever type it as Rutger’s it doesn’t make sense that way.

Personally I don't like the group think, gender wars and debates, all over nairaland.

They quickly degenerate into vile, demeaning, bullying and toxic situations I'll rather avoid.

In my head, I'm like can't we just disagree and share opposing views without the insults, bashing and toxicity?

The South Africans treat us like shit, we come here and treat each other like shit as well. What are we doing to ourselves?

I have read some comments directed at other people, that made me feel bad, as if I was the one being insulted.

I come here for the comic relief, destressor and anonymous social interaction benefits. Anything more than that, I won't participate or engage.

In summary, fair-mindedness (fairness) is a luxury small-minded people can't afford.
