sammyuche: Mehn. fogerit. no matter the tribal wars between Igbo and Yoruba's here on NL. weddings between the duo are still the best. Na even d Yoruba's come dey marry all our girl finish. One love
The phoney war between east and west is childish nonsense - name calling and other silliness but no one is killing anyone.
But the war being waged by the elements in the north on the rest of the civilized world is very real and completely evil.
rectitude: I respect you Sir, remember that back then, pastors were like the least financially bouyant figures. But all that has changed, the church of Jesus Christ has come a long way. And it's on it's way to the permanent site.
You are delusional if you believe that.
Religious leaders have always fleeced their foolish followers, that is why so many people wish to become preachers.
If the man had been well prior to becoming president he would not have been going to London every few months.
This is a man who had a pre-existing illness whose condition has become worse as a result of the stress of travelling and the job that he was never qualified to do.
golamike: Your comment was out of context bro. Do u really know those men that Lot was shielding? If you actually read the passage, you'd know they were Angels and that was why Lot was trying to shield them from d immoral act of his people (homosexuality) . He only offered his daughters so as to distract them and you and I know they never touched d girls. They were eventually destroyed by the same Angels anyway. Pls quote the Bible rightly.
Would you offer your teenage daughters to strangers?
benueguy: The things recorded in the Bible have their moral lessons. Every story you read in the Bible is there with its consequences and rewards. The church has failed in this regard, but notwithstanding, the Word of God still prevails over evil
“Now behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof,” (Gen. 19:.
Which moral lesson does one learn from Lot offering his daughters to a crowd of men?
benueguy: Devilish show. If Christian parents don't stand their grounds, I'm afraid this will be the last generation to know Christ.
Worse things are reported in the Bible than that which happen in the Big Brother House.
If you really want to shield your children from evil it isn't television that you need to shield them from but the church and its nonsensical teachings.
EmeeNaka: Friend, my concern is on power returning to South by 2023 and Buhari's 8years in power is the only thing that can assure that. If you're waiting for a Northerner who will do better than Buhari, then I have to laugh in Swahili.
Any northerner would be better than Buhari. Even by northern standards Buhari is terrible.
But given the choice I would want for someone who is interested in federalism so that the issue of presidency isn't such a big problem in the future - whether that is a northerner or a southerner I do not care.
duni04: This is wrong. We're only producing a little more than 3000MW because our generating companies are producing almost nothing. They all have breached pipelines. The transmission companies can convey 6000MW, the distribution companies are dishing out metres at an excellent rate, its just the Gencos that are messing up. Besides in case you haven't noticed, power has been privatised in Nigeria. The only portion the FG controls is the Transmission.
Where did I mention government?
If you look at a lot of the hardware being used to transport oil and gas it is evident that it hasn't been updated in aeons. The same is true for the refineries.
The investors who bought the GENCOS did not want to upgrade the hardware without first increasing subsidies.
DuBLINGreenb: That Mavin's half caste That Kenyan fat woman singer Even in comedy if a foreigner speaks pidgin that person becomes a legend Oyinbo princess White Nigerian Amongst others too numerous to list All our radio presenters have accent
Which Mavin artist?
Which Kenyan singer?
Those other people are irrelevant - I haven't seen anything on 'White Nigerian' in years.
When they are on the level of Davido or Wizkid then I will understand your complaint but as things stand they are not prominent.
DuBLINGreenb: The Nigerian music scene is over populated every tamuno and dokubo wants to be an artist In Lagos every street has 5 'upcoming' artists in every university every cultist is a rapper, every girl is in choir. To break as a foreigner in naija is easy just stay foreign always tell them your foreign and come and base in naija if you are white or half caste or have an Accent the better for you Nigerians have inferiority complex and fetish for exotic and as such you will blow. Thank me later.
Which artists has that helped?
I can't think of a single prime artist who is any of those things.
Nigeria music artists are an example of what Nigeria should be doing in all things - promote your own first, then export. Then and only then do you import the very best from the outside world.
omenkaLives: As for me, the simplest and most direct route to confronting these agitations is making those elective positions far less lucretive. Once one doesnt see a route to making billions from them, it would become unattractive to those who desire to get there for anything else besides service to their people.
And to those monkeys sumasaulting in and out of my mentions, i see you all, but like Fayose your god, i dont talk to monkeys- sorry.
You can make them less lucrative by ensuring that there are always checks and balances in place so that no one entity holds too much power (or money).
You need to make the salaries competitive to attract capable hands but you're right that they should not become avenues for people to make millions (of dollars) in a short space of time.
duni04: A minister posted there to do what? The major problem with power in Nigeria is those idiots that bomb pipelines and cut gas supply to the power stations. If you want stable power, get those idiots to stop sabotaging power infrastructure. Nothing Fashola can do.
Most of the waste isn't to do with gas pipelines being blown up.
It's to do with faulty/old hardware that isn't repaired or replaced.
omenkaLives: Come on! Even down to the state level, we still have these things. For instance, in my state, the Idomas are insisting yhey want a seperate state with tje igede people (the igedes dont quite feel like it though). They feel the Tivs should allow them hold the position of governorship as well to feel some sense of belonging.
Pray, tell, would true federalism stop minority tribes from feeling that way in the various states?
I can proffer common sense solutions but I cannot help people who are plagued but tribalism.
Nothing will help them, it is a sickness like religion.
But Nigeria has state and local governments, let the local governments push for greater autonomy and then create the environment in which local business can thrive and then there will less desire for people to ally themselves with 'tribe'.
omenkaLives: Not exactly bro. Most of us dont bloody care where the person comes from, especially me; he could be a Tibetan for all i care.
But Nigeria is a unique country and our people have yet to attain such levels of political maturity and suphistication to ignore these nuances. Sacrifices have to be made to keep this ship bouyant and one of such is ensuring there's a balance of power between the North and South.
You do not need 'balance of power' in a true federation.
Those places that want to develop should be left to do so.
Those places that want religious indoctrination should do so on their own dime.
The interviewee didn't say anything about 'the North being unstoppable' so why the rubbish headline?
Why not create an honest title about how the North is disappointed with Buhari or how many Northerners were aware that Buhari was too old? Afterall that is what was said.
EmeeNaka: Yerima statements are sound save where he said that the North will bring new vibrant leader in 2019. I disagree with him. Buhari must continue till 2023.
Why should Buhari continue until 2023 when he isn't well barely two years into his first term?
ADEWUMIMichael: bro you can't tell God what he should do, ''Our Lord can do whatever he likes'' those preachers you're saying will surely perish, otherwise means there's still a reason for their stay on this earth, REMEMBER NO ONE WILL GO UNPUNISH REGARDLESS OF HOW SMALL YOUR SIN MAY BE
You are the one claiming that god holds people to account for disobeying his word, not I.
I only pointed out how there are several people and institutions who are claiming to speak on behalf of this god but are doing the opposite of what they preach and nothing has happened or is happening to them.
