Borno State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two persons in a bomb blast on Friday night in Ruwan Zafi, Maiduguri, the state capital. The state police public relations officer, PPRO, Malam Lawal Abdullah, who confirmed the deaths, Saturday, said that the bomb was planted on the roadside by unknown persons http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/05/maiduguri-fresh-bomb-blast-kills-2-police/ |
If true, this is indeed worrying |
@Papabrowne, Thanks my bro. I didnt know about the visit |
Prince Amour Udemude, a correspondent of the Niger Delta STANDARD newspaper, has filed a lawsuit against Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State charging the governor with ordering his illegal detention. In a case filed at the Federal High Court in Asaba, capital of Delta State, Mr. Udemude accuses Governor Uduaghan of instigating the state commissioner of police as well as officials of the State Security Service (SSS) to arrest and detain him unlawfully over a news item the reporter had posted on his facebook page. The reporter has also joined the Commissioner of Police and the state Director of SSS as second and third respondents to the lawsuit. http://www.saharareporters.com/news-page/reporter-sues-governor-uduaghan-police-and-sss-over-detention |
@Papabrowne, Have you got evidence to backup the Ibori visit? this is the first i have heard of it |
That itching and banging head, na im I no understand. Why all this wahala. This is not about doing things in moderation, the excess na im de cos trouble |
@Siena, Nobody is blaming black women, all we are saying is that what might be good for oyibo may not necessarily be good for our sisters. you find out how much they spend trying to look like you. Better find out from someone who has woken up next to one the next morning, wash away all that fakeness, and the sight aint pretty. Our women and beautiful the way God made them |
There is something to be said about beautiful natural Black women, they are indeed a joy to behold |
dont even talk about the eye lashes thing. Oh that one is just as bad. The other day, I almost bumped into one, the sight was so scary, I thought it was O-juju Calabar. To be honest the thing is ugly, it will give small children nightmares |
abenipa:My Sister, no be small thing that day oh, people dey call am, im just bold face dey waka dey go. And it was a hot Nigerians afternoon. Some in the crowd were even contemplating carrying the thing to go and give her. "Sista Ya Thing done Fall" |
That is how the other day, one was try to cross the road, when the attachment thing fell off. People started shouting at her to pick up her thing that it had fallen, She just kept a straight face and kept on walking. That is how 10,000 naira went down the drain. I no fit laff finish that day |
@ttn726, you talk am well. Our sisters need to keep with the natural. Long hair, oyibo style is not for us, probably that's why you were not made that way in the first place. I think, braids make the Black woman look extra special |
Poster makes a very good point. If only our black sister would recognise that they look devine natural. They dont have to fix some tired looking stuff to look good. They are already beautiful the way God made them |
edoyad:My brother, I so agree with you, though something in me lauds the project |
@Eziachi, Yes, Ogboru was a successful business man, back in the day. While Uduaghan was an unsuccessful anesthetist who workd for DSC, and was sacked, could run a successful private practice, yet people are entrusting him to run a state. Infact there are suggestions that his dismissal from DSC was for stealing (Yet to confirm), but you know what they say, a fruit never falls to far from the tree. Knowing both men, I am convinced Ogbrou would have been a better choice for Delta state, who progressives can work with to move the state forward |
@Papabrowne, hae Uduaghan not been governor for 4yrs? please state clearly his achievements. The simple answer is NONE. Now it is totally unfair to compare a failing governor with one which has not even been given a chance. On what basis are you guys judging Ogboru to be a failure? Why dont you see what EK Clark has to say about the whole thing. See below. But Uduaghan was declared the winner of the election by INEC He didn’t win. Let me cite two cases. Warri north is made up of 10 wards, 4 wards are occupied by the Ijaws, 6 wards by the Itsekiri. Warri south-west 4 wards for the Ijaws, 6 wards for the Itsekiri. This was what brought tribal feudal war we fought in 1997 – 2002 when my house and my law chamber were burnt. We have forgotten all that. But imagine that Warri north, the 4 wards belonging to the Ijaws voted on the 9th during the National Assembly polls, voted during the presidential election on the 15th but they were prevented from voting because Uduaghan was contesting. No material was sent to them. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/05/new-cabinet-constitutionwhy-jonathan-must-be-wary-of-govs-edwin-clark/ |
@Jason123, My brother you make a very good point. Common sense is the key here, but one which even the governor has not shown. Instead he has chosen to polarise the state by pointing out our differences, just because his government has been one of failure. Uduaghan has been governor for 4yrs, and I am not holding my breath, that things are going to be any better. It is Uduaghan who is playing the minority card. It is not necessary, if he had perforned in his first term, no one would have given a damn what tribe he comes from. By the way, does anyone actually know what part of Lagos state Fashola comes from, or Chime of Enugu or Ameachi of Rivers? no people dont care because the boys are performing |
RoadStar:Right, and so because you judge him to be a coup plotter makes him a potential bad Governor? Why dont you say the same of Uduaghan who was a failed / unsuccessful medical doctor, sacked from DSC. Apparently he has a clear record of failure, not so? |
Beaf:At what cost? Uduaghan's wife charging delta state 4miilion every week for desiel to power those streetlights. I fail to see clear evidence to support your point. How much does delta state generate locally, we are not talking of federal allocated funds, and why did uduaghan have to borrow 20BN to run for the elections |
@Beaf, I knew sooner or later, you would get invoved in Delta matters. It affect both of us, so welcome my brother. I toatly agree with sibcid analysis. It is the likes of uduaghan and his failing administration, that has chosen to create this tribal difference rather than perform. Uduaghan's dislike is firmly not because of where he comes from but simply because of his dismal performance. the man has just not worked, instead of tackling the issues that would have made him a success, he is busy peddling stories about how the Urhobo's do not want the minorities to rule. I am from Delta North, but I support Ogboru for one simple reason. I am convinced that he would have been a far better and productive governor that uduaghan has shown to be. @Beaf, if you make bold statements such as delta being the 3rd most developed, I think it is only fair to all that you produce evidence, not asking people to open new threads |
@Jason123, Thanks for posting this write up, vert refreshing. I remember the coronation of the current Olu of Warri, I also spent most of my time in the Itsekiri part of Warri, with mots of my friends being on Itsekiri decent. However, i am glad you have pointed out the failings of Uduaghan of tackling some of the fundamental problems that affect the Itsekiri people and Deltan's at large. I often argue that the problem in Delta state is not about what tribe or what tribe the governor comes from, an issue some would have us believe, but BAD Leadership, Full Stop. I honestly do not believe Uduaghan has the mental capacity to solve any problem in the state. He is just a Bad, selfish Governor, simple, and he should never have won. Like I said, I am glad, you as an Itsekiri person, is point tin out that his governorship, does not positively affect his people. What a shame |
I hope uduaghan and his cronies will take a good lesson, on how to build a good airport, on time with no mago mago |
By Olasunkanmi Akoni & Monsur Olowoopejo The Lagos State Government is to spend N102 billion ($ 650 million) on the construction of the Lekki International Airport which is expected to commence operation in May 2012. The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Adeniyi Oyemade, a Public Private Partnership projector told reporters in Ikeja that the proposed airport would handle 5 million passengers annually. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/05/lagos-earmarks-n102-bn-to-build-lekki-int’l-airport/ |
KANO, Nigeria (AFP) – At least 16 people were killed in a pre-dawn attack Friday in a Christian village in northern Nigeria beset by ethnic and sectarian violence, police told AFP. Unidentified gunmen attacked the farming village in Bauchi state, one of the worst hit states by post election riots last month, killing 16 residents and burning 20 houses. "There was an attack on Kurum village by unknown gunmen and from reports reaching me 16 people have been killed and 20 houses burnt in the attack," Amama Abakasanga, Bauchi state police commissioner, told AFP by telephone from Bauchi. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20110506/wl_africa_afp/nigeriaunrestreligion |
@Rasputinn and Beaf, Ibori chop our collective money, ensalve our people. I be warri boy reach bone, e dey pain me reach blokos when I see de way our people dey suffer. E too much. His greed was just too much, all the money when im for fit used take make delta state dey compete with lagos state, na im e use take dey marry new wife, de do ogridigbo. the thing tire me, and my body go rest when we get justice. I dont promise una, I get ticket, the day ibori go appear for court, i will be there live and direct. ibori wan make warri carry last, and u know say we no dey carry last |
Nigerians are already queing up to hail insults at the thief. By the time he comes out, he will be drained. http://www.nationaldailyngr.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5504:iboris-trial-nigerians-storm-london-court-&catid=99:current-cover&Itemid=489 |
DESPITE all the preparation and decorations geared towards the Royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, Nigerians residing in London came to the Southwark Crown Court in London to witness the commencement of the trial of former Delta State Governor, Mr. James Ibori. As early as 9:30am, Nigerians were seen walking towards the court, which is located opposite the Hilton Hotel overlooking the River Thames and the popular London Bridge. While many tourists besieged the City of West Minister to have a glimpse of the tourist attractions in London, a lady who identified herself as Fola said she wanted “to just see the man, called Ibori.” “I left very early today to be here to see Ibori, I just want to see how he looks like now that he is facing justice. If I have the chance to speak to him, I will ask him how he feels now after having the opportunity to make Nigeria a better country,” she said. For Edgal Enahoro, he came to see justice meted out to the former governor. "I came here today to witness justice being served to someone that had an opportunity to make a change in Nigeria. It really appalls me that these governors come here and benefit from the way a normal sane government is run but they go back and try to decimate the society and make the people suffer. I hope this will certainly serve as a lesson for every corrupt elected leader in Nigeria, this is the beginning of the end," he said. http://www.nationaldailyngr.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5504:iboris-trial-nigerians-storm-london-court-&catid=99:current-cover&Itemid=489 |
@rasputinn, if you know anything, better share with your brother. I have booked my flight to the UK for Ibori's trial in June. I have also been consulting with barrister friends of mine in the UK, Ibori is in hot water. He is probably on latrine duty this week @ wandsworth prison |
@Blink182, We can only hope that the good people of Our state get some sort of restitution for the Ibori years. If Nigerians choose to celebrate a criminal, well that is up to them. As far as the international community is concerned, Ibori would be an ex-con / grand thief, who would not be allowed into any country. The Americans and British I know will disgrace him, but also the well educated and good people of nigeria will shun him. He can only make mouth and acquire new wives and be honoured in the cesspit which he belongs |
@blink182, exactly. He is finished. The only place he might get a bit of face saving respect is in Nigeria, where we do not have shame. everywhere else will be like hell to him. He wont find it easy to get visa anymore, He should practically forget Europe or the US, they will defintely nail him. Look at World renowed writer Jeffery Archer. After his stint in jail, no one want to know him, in fact he got expelled from the conservative party, and most dis-associate themselves from him. Its really bad. Ibori, will have all that money, but will feel worse than a leper. Uduaghan is next |
@Playmode, Prison no matter where is not as nice as you make it out to be. The mere fact that a Large figure / notorious self styled Ogidigbodigbo, can be incacerated for more than 1 year is definitely a very bad thing. The repercautions are massive. Ibori, wont find it that easy to travel about. He will have to declare forever that he is an ex-convict, and in most cases would be treated as one. His life will never be the same. He will be sconed and abused by the bold to his face, and by the weak in his back. The shame will live with him forever. |
e go hard the guy. For me, if he spends 1year in jail @ least he comes out an ex-convict. But I doubt he would escape with less that 10yrs. others are serving 5 and 7 for his crimes, kingpin will get more. so no salaries for his Lecturers? na wah oh |
