unecessary waste of money. Spend that money improving already well established universities. why are we so given to doing the wrong things?

@JomoGbomo2,

I totally agree with you. The elections, organisation, planning and execution, were well below what should be expected from someone who was given in excess of $600million to run the show. if this was a private enterprise and the CEO had spent such an amount, only to deliver substandard results, it would be instant sack.

But in Nigeria, where we have no concept of standards and quality, anything goes. That is why Rogue governor like ibori can be found not guilty by Nigerians, but locked up by the British, tells us a lot about our society, totally deviod of morals. Politicians and citizens just as bad

@Prints,

I have passionately been involved in politics, especially that of delta state, as I believe effective politics is practiced locally. Lagos state is a good example. I evern toyed with the idea of running for office, was encouraged by members of my family, but my inner family frowned against it, for very good reasons, which is playing out for all to see. I was very much aware of your Uncles ambition as well.
What i have chosen to do, post 2011 elections, is to be more of a silent observer. I have seen money turn honest people into grand thieves. I will play my part when I can, especially for the innocent and ill treated amongst us, that is the best I can do.

If we do end up having a decent governor some day, then that will be good, but if Anioma state comes first, then I will take that as well. I have just come to accept that the depth of the rut within our society is unimagineable
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 1:55pm On May 03, 2011
@Prints,

I wouldnt say that zoning was the default option, well I think so, however what has happend here is that due to the failure of successive governments, those who have been in-charged have used tribal sentiments to divide us. I say this as someone from the northern part of delta, but grew up in the south, and it was never an issue.

Yes, I do accept that Pius Ewherido would have had a good outing especially with special relationship with the masses at large. I know his family quite well, and he is seen as the peoples person, young and would have entertained positive ideas.

Great on the other hand is not that bad. I believe that he would have been someone, the progressive amongst us would have been able to work with. He is not a closed shop like Emmanuel, whose Greed is beyond belief. That said, I have since learnt that in politics in Nigeria at large, you can never really hold brief for anyone, most go there with thier own agenda
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 11:11am On May 03, 2011
@Prints,
Firstly, I am glad that the younger generation (like you) are taking a keen interest in politics. It is important that the good fight continues.

Right, most of the people in Delta North are not shouting as loud as they should for 2 possible reasons

1: They are under the illusion that come 2015, the Governorship will be handed over to them (Our turn don reach)
2: They are hoping that way before 2015, Anioma state will be created.

In my understanding and from numerous discussions, these are the cards they are hoping to play.

From my assessment, the latter is probably a more credible reason, though the chances of that happening are debateable.
For point 1 however, I fault it to the core. I dont see why we from Delta north should play lazy politics. It serevs no one. There is no guarantee from PDP or whoever that point 1 will actually happen, but more importantly, why wait for your turn before we get good governance? The simple reason why people are crying fowl, is because of the level of bad leadership everyone in the state has been put under, irrespective of tribe
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 9:26pm On May 02, 2011
@Prints,

I do not doubt that there are inner workings in Delta state that you and I dont see. However i am not convinced when it come to Emmanuel. Uduaghan has had ample opportunity to lead delta state properly, but has failed in all the chances given to him. even if we have to go by the minority tribe theory, has he really done well for his tribe? i always say this, good governance knows no tribe. If Uduaghan had applied himself in the right way, he would have won the sympathy of everyone including the Urhobos, but what has he really done for us in Delta North? Absolutely nothing.
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 6:54pm On May 02, 2011
@Prints,

did you ever find out from your towns people why they voted PDP, because I find it insulting to everyone in Delta state, when someone actually suggests that proper elections actually do take place. PDP's success has very little to do with spread, more to do with electorial fraud. I seriously doubt that PDP has done anything of note in Aniocha to warrant electorial success
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 9:43pm On May 01, 2011

I deu wait you voice since. i no tell you say Uduaghan crassness go show for this elections. The Shiet is worst than effurun motor park Agbero. Anyway. me i don tire, make i go find one coner dey do my own thing, i really dont care about delta politics and who governs anymore

@aigboeben, @Epiphany , @texazzpete

Thank you. I have been shouting this same thing on here for Months. It defies belief who would have actually voted for Uduaghan. What has he done, even for his people for those who claim this has an ethnic twist. Uduaghan is plain and simply BAD. I will evern go as far as saying he is the worst governor in the entire counrty, probably the rest of Africa
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 6:10pm On Apr 28, 2011
@Wesley80,

you and I have not seen eye to eye on this Uduaghan issue, and i doubt we would today, but let me make a very firm comment. The Hate or whatever yopu want to call it toward Uduaghan is based solely on under-performance.

I have challeneged a lot of people on here, including you, to give us concrete evvidence to suggest that Uduaghan has been delivering, but we are all too blind to see.
His inward deceit was made complete with his shameful Asaba airport stunt. So this your porported theory of hate is so light, please drop it.
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 2:21pm On Apr 28, 2011
@Otokx,

It is not funny, there are a lot of good people in Delta state who have not asked for this. Let us spare a thought for them ok
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 2:02pm On Apr 28, 2011
@Obailala,

Well said. The hate is not about tribe, but about a Fhucking dunce who is probably the worst governor known to man. Show me someone who genuinely likes Uduaghan because they think he is doing a good job.
The guy has been a failure from Birth, he failed as a lousy Doctor, here he is again failing as a Rogue Governor

@Meldrick,

So what if Uduaghan defeated Ogboru, what has he got to show for his 12yrs in Office? Nothing but Grand Theft.

Those of you claming that Uduaghan is a minority unfairly hated, please tell us what he has done to deserve respect. The guy is a no Good thief, and Like I always say, this has nothing to do with Tribe, but everything to do with Bad Government. If Uduaghan was performing, it would have been a different case.

But someone who can pay extortionate amount of money to have a plane flown into an uncompleted airport, is pure evil, and that is all Uduaghan represents. EVIL
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 12:55pm On Apr 28, 2011
@Shalom1234,

Assuming your explaination is right, and I dont doubt you for one bit. Tell me what Uduaghan, a minority has done to deserve praise.

Uduaghan, had the opportunity to disprove people, 4yrs but no development. He should have shown  the good people of delta state, that he is an all inclusivde governor, working for everyone. But no he has been the worse governor ever rigged in.
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 12:23pm On Apr 28, 2011
@Blink182,

I am a firm believer in peace. I also strongly believe in justice. No matter how hopeless the situation looks today, one day Justice and freedom shall come to the people of Delta state.

If Ogboru engages in the same wicked deeds as Uduaghan, then waht makes him different? He has rightfully gone to the courts to seek justice before, he might have to do that again.

Sometimes the road to justice and freedom can seem like a very long one, but we persevere
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 11:55am On Apr 28, 2011
@Blink182,

This has nothing to do with Ogboru being weak, more the desperation shown by the PDP devils that they are prepared to go to any length (including kill people) to secure victory.

We are really in dark times. I know Uduaghan quite well, and he nothing short of wicked
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by monkeyleg: 11:16am On Apr 28, 2011
What a Pity. Why do we have to go through all this again. Where is the justice in this.

How come Ibori can be in jail for Grand Theft, while his side-craw-craw can be left to roam and cause wicked acts.

Why have the Delta people been subjected to this rubbishhuh/

@Redsun,

my bro, I totally agree with you. I just dont understand what makes the average nigerian choose bag of garri over genuine change. Why, what is it that makes us see the truth, but choose the lie?

I have been fighting this crusade of good governance and change for so long, but right now i have reached the end. Nigeria isnt worth all this headache.

But marks this. I know someday those who have made the common man suffer so much, for so long will get what they deserve.

as the time ticks by it looks bad. I am really tired of nigeria, absolutey tired. Really there is no hope for this country. Anyone decieving themselves that things will get better, had better have a rethink.

Uduaghan is desperately holding on to power, so he doesnt get purnished for his wicked deeds.

Police recover 3 bombs in Delta

WARRI – THE police have recovered three bombs , Tuesday, near the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, offices at Burutu and Ogbe-Ijoh in Delta State.
