Some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving as electoral officers in Delta State have threatened to withdraw their services in subsequent elections in the ongoing general election because of the ugly experiences they encountered during last Saturday’s National Assembly election in the state.

Those who spoke to the Nigerian Tribune recounted their experiences, saying they were harassed and humiliated during the conduct of the exercise by thugs and some political youth leaders for their resolve not to compromise and dance to their tune.

Incidentally, some of them succumbed to intimidation to save their lives by allowing the youth leaders in some wards in Uvwie Local Government Area who allegedly forced the electorate to vote for the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area.

Very unlikely, given the fact that DPP performed well only in Delta Central.
Nope, considering that DPP did far better, and was rigged, a fact confirmed by Jega at last. Uduaghan cannot win in Delta
PoliticsRe: Governors Heading For Defeat by monkeyleg: 6:15pm On Apr 12, 2011
No1 on your list is Uduaghan. he is a goner
PoliticsRe: Inec Says Delta, Bayelsa And Imo Records Highest Cases Of Ballot Box Snatching by monkeyleg: 4:28pm On Apr 12, 2011
I was shouting here during the delta state re-run, no one wanted to listen. There you have it again. That guy is terrible, for birth na im start to tiff. Uduaghan is no good for Delta state, and we must kick him out. I can bet you jega cannot believe the balls on the man, he cheats in January and then again in April.
PoliticsRe: Inec Says Delta, Bayelsa And Imo Records Highest Cases Of Ballot Box Snatching by monkeyleg: 4:18pm On Apr 12, 2011
We have been saying it for years, but no one wants to listen. You cannot seperate fly from Shiet. Uduaghan cannot survive without being involved in Rigging. The fukker is messed up from head to toe. We cried foul in January, now you have it again. The guy is a born thief / cheat

I do not want the old guard and the old order. I do not want the overwhelming majority of pdp even if they are winning. They should be cut to size and the likes of Bankole thrown out
My brother neither do I, but I know a lot of us on here do not know exactly what we are getting. So I will wait this out, and see what come out at the other end. Nigeria has a history of giving us nasty suprises
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by monkeyleg: 8:08pm On Apr 10, 2011
I think everyone should wait for the dust to settle. The results on here are everywhere seem to be conflicting and somewhat lacking credibility. That said, let us not rejoice fully yet, until we get a ful glimpse of those who are going to be representing us, it might not be such a big change from the old guard.

I for one, I am going to treating this whole thing with a lot of caution, that way you manage your expectation better

DELTA STATE SENATORIAL RESULTS

PIUS EWERIDO(DPP) DELTA CENTRAL
Are these confirmed results? we seem to be getting a lot of conflicting results that this whole forum is looking less credible
PoliticsRe: Reuters - Results Trickle In, Pdp Expected To See Majority Weaken by monkeyleg: 7:30pm On Apr 10, 2011
Beaf:
The whole thing is funny my broda! Right now, DPP people are still quarrelling seriously with INEC over result sheets. Its a waste of time, cos its impossible to rig this time.

As for Delta state, I strongly believe that PDP is the best for now, but we need a much healthier mix in the House of Assembly. My fear with DPP is its too much of an Urhobo party right now, and we really do not need that sort of politics in our dear state. Uduaghan might not be perfect, but the new politics blowing through the country will force him to sit up; there will be no smiling for anybody after the high standards of these elections.

Can you imagine thugs still siezing ballot boxes in this digital age? Yes Warri and Ughelli are rough (particularly Ughelli), but its just fools who haven't read the time; right now, its the people speaking, not like in the past.
Well, make we dey see
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by monkeyleg: 7:27pm On Apr 10, 2011
The delay in annoucning the entire confirm results is not good. It is beinging to cast doubt in peoples mind
PoliticsRe: Reuters - Results Trickle In, Pdp Expected To See Majority Weaken by monkeyleg: 1:22pm On Apr 10, 2011
I hear Warri and Ughelli were rough zones, I wonder if we will get results from there?
PoliticsRe: Reuters - Results Trickle In, Pdp Expected To See Majority Weaken by monkeyleg: 1:20pm On Apr 10, 2011
@Beaf,

I heared that Delta North thing and thought is was silly, cos 2 diffrent accounts existed, one by the Will newspaper and the other by Vanguard. No one should be allowed to do that sort of rubbish, and if that cost him the election too bad.

I wasnt around for this one, but I should make both Presidential and governorship

I know you are a PDP man, but you and I know that PDP is not good for Delta, but we will see. For the elections on the 26th is the critical one.

How you dey sha? did you vote in Delta?

The results should have been announced hours ago
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by monkeyleg: 9:19am On Apr 10, 2011
It is taking far too long for any result to be announced. we already knew what they looked like yesterday. Why the delay?
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by monkeyleg: 9:13am On Apr 10, 2011
I am surprised we are still struggling to get results from anywhere. What is going on
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by monkeyleg: 9:09am On Apr 10, 2011
We should have started having solid firmed up results by now. I am surprised no confirmable results out there.
