@ Nsiman,

Thanks for the correction

@Mikeansy,

We are not that organised. The sort of thing the govt has in mind takes years to plan and execute

She is just as qualified, so why not. People like this should be given a chance
PoliticsRe: Four Days To Voters’ Registration: Inec Staff Can’t Operate Ddc Machines by monkeyleg: 9:51pm On Jan 11, 2011
even @ 5mins per head, you wont get far. I was testimony to that. And dont forget registeration is planned for 4 days.
PoliticsRe: Four Days To Voters’ Registration: Inec Staff Can’t Operate Ddc Machines by monkeyleg: 9:21pm On Jan 11, 2011
@Texazzpete,

I am not sure that is the only problem. Things in Nigeria are just not thought through. Why majority laptops when we can alos have these in desktops for half the price?

The whole strategy is wrong, and any one with a clear vision can see that this whole excersize is heading for failure. the signs are there.

I am not convinced that what they have planned will work. they have just thrown money at a very bad plan, but then again our perception of success is set very low
PoliticsRe: Four Days To Voters’ Registration: Inec Staff Can’t Operate Ddc Machines by monkeyleg: 7:55pm On Jan 11, 2011
Well Delta state re-run was an indication of things to come. We cried foul, but no one would listen,

now folding hands and watching, and this time around i am not buying no Inec official buns and pepsi, they should come with thier own
PoliticsRe: Four Days To Voters’ Registration: Inec Staff Can’t Operate Ddc Machines by monkeyleg: 7:22pm On Jan 11, 2011
Welcome to Nigeria, where proper thought is never put into anything, as long as someone is benefitting from this waste. typical of everything we do. Waste, waste, and more waste.

can imagine who would have thought up this rubbish. Like I said it is the small small details that will consume them first

I am an adhoc staff and a corp member. During the training exercise it took about 35 minutes to register a person. The inputing of biodata takes up to 3 minutes but the scanning of finger prints 10 fingers takes up to 30 minutes. I dont see the possibility of effective voters registration in this country.
There you have it. People not planning properly or doing the right maths.

Registeration should be done in the local government offices, where you can have at least 10 /15 machines running at the same time. With provision for constant electriicty , water and food for the Inec officials. Only in extreme cases should we have mobile units, in buses or vans kitted out with generators.

The excersize should run for over a week, 4days is just not enough.

Also the process must be simplified. 35mins to register a person is not workable
PoliticsRe: Four Days To Voters’ Registration: Inec Staff Can’t Operate Ddc Machines by monkeyleg: 2:54pm On Jan 11, 2011
OK, let us get the basics right first.

Not saying that these machince and personels trained up wont work. But look at the situation that happened to me during the last voters register excersize.

1: INEC officials that were meant to register people did not turn up till 1:30pm, although the agreed time was 8:00am

2: 2 INEC officials arrived to register over 1000 people, whereby each registeration takes about 5mins. Do this maths, regiateration was meant to happen 1day only.

3: INEC registeration was due to end at 5:00pm, considering they arrived very late, how many people would they have registered before the close of business?

4: Most importantly, they arrive with only 1 machine and no backup battery or generator. After about 1:30hrs, they decided to leave.
CrimeRe: Biafra: The Nigerian Civil War In Pictures (Warning Disturbing Images) by monkeyleg: 7:22pm On Jan 09, 2011
This is a project i have always longed to see. I recently stumble on a research being done @ a University in Florida on the massacre that took place in Asaba. these stories need to be told.

The Americans remember thier civil war, the british remember the various wars they have been involved in. Why not us?
CrimeRe: Biafra: The Nigerian Civil War In Pictures (Warning Disturbing Images) by monkeyleg: 7:18pm On Jan 09, 2011
Hunting pictures. I have asked the same question time without number. Why do we not celebrate or remember the civil war. It is part of our History.

I recently spoke to a friend who was about 7 /8 during the civil war, he spoke about some terrible stories. I am still trying to get him to document what happened. Alos i have promised myself to sit with my father and let him tell me about the war.

@Knowall,

My brother we are still reeling from that wicked theft. Nothing has change, and that is mt bigger problem rather than if my preferred candidate won.

I would go with hidden cameras, because from all accounts of what happened in Delta state, it was men with superior firepower. Also, there needs to be a special election task force, well armed and prepared, probably a mix of army and soldier.
PoliticsRe: Official Thread::: Delta State Election Rerun by monkeyleg: 4:33pm On Jan 09, 2011
My Brother Wesley80,

You really believe this your analysis? You truly believe that this was how the election was won and lost? ok lets look at some of your points

1: You have concernes about the Uduaghan 50000 to Ogboru's 18000 in LG's, why?

2: Even the deputy Gov could not win in his LG, Why?

3: Ogboru polled over 10000 votes in PDP chairmans LG, why?

Could it be that your beloved pdp and uduaghan are not as popular as you would have us believe, and it was not a case of sheer grit and determination that saw him through? Where you aware they were bribing people 1000 naira to vote in Asaba and environs? is it also possible that your initial observation that dpp won in your polling station and others might have been a pattern that carried through?

now why didnt you talk about the lg's Uduaghan won in?

And lets get something straight, it is not me suggesting that the elections where rigged to what ever scale, all you need to do is take a sample of comments from this forum and others including newspapers and see what people are saying
PoliticsRe: Official Thread::: Delta State Election Rerun by monkeyleg: 2:29pm On Jan 09, 2011
@Wesley80,

Before you start inviting people to start analysing false figures, why dont you read other people account of what happend that day. Funny enough, there seems to be far more probably a ratio of 90/10 saying the elections were in anyway credible.

I know uduaghan very well, and he is a damn evil man. For anyone in thier right sense to think that is what we need in delta state, I cant understand.

2011 will be another sham, dont know why people are bothering

I have been wondering what was different between this election and the one in 2007, why waste all that money just to give the people another fraud
PoliticsRe: Official Thread::: Delta State Election Rerun by monkeyleg: 10:48am On Jan 09, 2011
@Redsun

We dont understand that concept in Nigeria. No no no, In Nigeria crooks reign supreme. After all this same man lists Swimming Pool in governement house as an achievement, and guess what that has made him popular enough to win an election

Phucking useless country
PoliticsRe: Official Thread::: Delta State Election Rerun by monkeyleg: 10:14am On Jan 09, 2011
Free, fair and trouble free elections re-defined
PoliticsRe: Official Thread::: Delta State Election Rerun by monkeyleg: 9:46am On Jan 09, 2011
That still does not confirm that the elections were free, fair and trouble free.

Like I have said, it is the good people of delta state who lose out.

Why dont you read comments from other participants in the vanguard
PoliticsRe: Official Thread::: Delta State Election Rerun by monkeyleg: 8:35am On Jan 09, 2011

PoliticsRe: Video: Delta Re-run: The Stealing Of Ballots by monkeyleg: 8:02am On Jan 09, 2011
GROW UP . . . . the video and Nigeria has absolutely nothing to do with where I live or whatever other nonsense you are about to spew that has no relation to this. It has been shown over and over that 99.9% of even those who live right in the heart of the country know little of what is happening right under their own noses . . . the wikileaks reports showed that foreigners have a better grasp of the Nigerian psyche than most of you "I LIVE FOR NIGERIA AND I KNOW PASS" individuals could ever come up with on the status of life in your own country, so again, GROW UP AND FOCUS ON DISCUSSING your side of the issue --- try to come up with something at least a bit rational that what you have cooked up to this point.

The rubbish above is what living in foreign land for too long can do. Dulls ones mind, makes you even worse than Oyibo. you havent got a Phucking clue, so I will advise you stick to your american politics.

Like i have said to you counteless times, if you want James Bond style evidence? elections come up in 3 months, get an on the plane, register to vote, vote, and then capture election malpractice, because, i can assue you there will be enough opportunity for that, But until then, I will say you lack the credibility and authority to comment on that which you know so little about
PoliticsRe: Video: Delta Re-run: The Stealing Of Ballots by monkeyleg: 7:55am On Jan 09, 2011
Big Question, how come there was no video showing a free, fair and trouble free election. How come the press did not cover this election in numbers?

I need to see, press coverage of different areas showing the election running smoothly, but you know what? probably none, yet people believe it was free, fair and trouble free.

Why is it that we are discounting people tales because we dont see evidence, such as people dead on the floor?
PoliticsRe: Prof. Jibril Aminu Dumps Pdp by monkeyleg: 7:43am On Jan 09, 2011
Poeple kidding themselves again, never really understand how politics is run in Nigeria. this same PDP is hated beyond belief in Delta state, yet they won the recent re-run election, and yes people swore that it was free and fair with no mago-mago. this same PDP will win the next presidential election with no problems what so ever
PoliticsRe: Official Thread::: Delta State Election Rerun by monkeyleg: 7:33am On Jan 09, 2011
I know some people have been suggesting that the elections were free and fair, and that those complaining are bad losers, but as Oseman said, why was they no proper media coverage of this thing? where is the proof that the elections were actually free, fair and trouble free? why do we discount the video evidence that came to light, because people dont actually see ballot boxes being stuffed.

have we all stopped to think that maybe, just maybe the people complaining might be right. As they say where i come from " e get as Pikin go cry, you go no say im dey trouble"

there is not way uduaghan could have won on popularity, especially from a governor to lists Swimming pool in government house as one of his archievments. Nigerians wake up
