Well now give the new governor and opportunity to audit the accounts and probe corruption without fear or favour |
@Bolafex, I dont have answer to your question, but in less than 1 month, fraudulent and corrupt governer have been sent packing. |
I am realy hoping that we get Delta state as well, That short ugly modafocker must be sent to jail |
Fantastic. On the march ACN. We must confine PDP to the Cemetary. |
@Gbawe, I am behind Ribadu, and My prayer is that he teams up with Pat Utomi. I know with that team we can achieve good things. But let us watch |
And he couldn't answer a simple question on what he stood for That is were Oga failed woefully. Also he should have been truthful about the challeneges that face the ruling party in terms of North South Divide. Practically telling people that doesnt exist, only for Atiku to be crowned The Northen candidate, smacks of one who doesnt understand how to answer questions. I will score him 4/10 |
oho, it is the same people who do not get why GEJ must be challeneged, and see a valid criticism as hate. Western leaders get even more hostle grilling. Welcome to the world of democracy and free speech |
@Marvix, You are way off track. Do you know that in the UK, degrees from certain Nigerian Universities (including federal universities), are considered void. You are made to go through a clearing programme. so are you going to say the universities in the UK dont know what they are talking about? The education system in Nigeria is bad, plain and simple |
Well, let not forget that the way interview are conducted in Nigeria are far different from the west. the journalist are taught to probe abd dig for answers and in some cases that might come off aggressive. I dont think Isha meant any harm. GEJ was ok, but still very far off from an effective / established campaigner. |
But what worries me more, is our definition of Thief. is it not this same ex-governor who has been named in this high profile fraud case, that has jumped into bed with the president. I just dont get it. when will we learn to do things for ourselves. If it was any sensible country, the president would have made a statement to the effect that an 2 ex-governors are involved in a money laundering fraud case, the pess would have sat on him until he says something about it. Either he defends it or supports it, but no. Yet PDP are still fielding him as a candidate. Deltans beware |
I think una see am. This same president whey all of una dey shout dey follow, dey sheild Hardend Criminal like Uduaghan. An attempt by the EFCC to arrest and prosecute him over Ibori-era corruption has been stopped by President Goodluck Jonathan, according to EFCC officials that spoke to Saharareporters under condition of anonymity |
This is how you deal with Hardend Criminals. Not support them for election re-run |
London Court Confiscation Order: Ibori’s Sister, Christine Ibie Ibori Ordered To Refund £.829 Million In 6 Months Or Spend Extra 5 Years In Prison. The Southwark Crown Court in London, which has sent James Ibori money-laundering operatives to jail in recent months, yesterday granted a confiscation of proceeds of crime order against the jailed sister of the former Delta state governor. Judge Christopher Harding ruled that Christine Ibori-Ibie, who was jailed for five years last June, benefited from looted Delta state funds by over £4 million. Christine, who appeared in court yesterday, refused to give evidence in the confiscation trial. Under the order, she is required to pay £832,000 in the next six months or risk bagging a fresh five years in the slammer in addition to the five years she is now serving for engaging in money laundering with James Ibori. The £829, 000 is made of up of the value of her property in London minus what she owes in mortgage loans. Despite Christine’s refusal to give any evidence yesterday, her lawyers agreed that the figures were correct. She made it known, however, that she did not agree that she benefited from the Delta State loot to the extent of the amount declared by the court. The London Metropolitan police, working through the "Proceed Of Crimes Unit” (POCU), comprising a few Scotland Yard police detectives: John MackDonald, Peter Clarke, Paul Garnener and Ben Irons, have relentlessly pursued former governors James Ibori, Dipreye Alamieyeseigha and Joseph Dariye. The three former governors of Delta, Plateau and Bayelsa States used UK banks, to launder funds looted from their respective states. The team, working with a female prosecutor, Sasha Wass, QC, has succeeded in jailing accomplices of the three former governors while they await the extradition of Mr. Ibori, who is currently in Dubai. Last month, Mr. Ibori appealed the decision of a lower court there granting an extradition request by the London Metropolitan Police. The CPS and London Mets police will continue with confiscation hearings to regain all assets purchased by convicted members of the Ibori clan. A number of Delta State indigenes and officials were indicted in the trial but could not be tried as the UK does not try criminals in absentia except in terrorism cases. The notable accomplices who could not be tried include the recently deposed Delta State governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan; his deputy, Prof. Utuama; as well as David Edevbie who was Ibori's commissioner of finance before taking office as Principal Private Secretary to Umaru Yar’Adua. Despite his indictment, Uduaghan is battling to retake office as Delta state governor, the position from which he was sacked two weeks ago by the Court of Appeal. One of the attractions of the office for him is the promise of immunity while in office. An attempt by the EFCC to arrest and prosecute him over Ibori-era corruption has been stopped by President Goodluck Jonathan, according to EFCC officials that spoke to Saharareporters under condition of anonymity. The political mathematics in Delta State is straightforward: Ibori covered his tracks by putting Uduaghan, his cousin, in office after him, and Uduaghan is thought to be interested in using the same strategy to protect their future, at least in Nigeria. But if an opponent of both men takes office in the election set for within 90 days by the Court of Appeal, Delta State could enjoy a new start. |
I think you guys are missing the posters point. Can we really say the this is the best way to spend our money? Nigerians should learn to ask this kind of question, rathe than applauding every trick, we should learnt to be more decening. Nigeria is one of the few countries I know in this current economic climate who isnt being prudent with her spending, and especially in the right direction. Come, must we build more universities? can the one we have now cope with some significant investment, while we chanel money to other more worthy causes, such as fighting crime, health, transportation. The needs of our country are many, and we have to think properly before we spend |
We always jump into not well thought through projects all the time. That is why things never seem to go well. I do not totally frown at the thought of building a few new universitys, but what about the old ones. It would have been far more effective for the govement to spend good money refurbishing and upgrading the current infrastructure rather than new ones. This is another good sign of waste and lack of proper process and advice. Same goes with the President buying new planes, when the old one could have been fixed or maintained properly. This is difficult times for everyone, can the govt must show prudence and responsibility |
Lazy Nigerians, as usual satisfied in being fed scraps. All you need to do is give them petrol, then Nigerias problems are over. funny enough it is people like these that are really holding Nigeria back, not ready to move themselves forward quite content to feed at the feet of the political masters |
@MzDarkSkin, do you really know what happened? Not quite sure I understand where you are going with your argument. |
I have asked this question several times, and as lazy as we always are no one can give me a good answer. Why GEJ? Let us stop being politically lazy and look outside that Corrupt cesspit (PDP) |
@Beaf, I know say me with you dey quarel for here, but I know no say you be warri boy? Same here, so which part? if you say middle you mean Okere side. Which ones? how u dey sha before fight continue. |
Why dont we start by asking our president why he has decided to back someone who was Fingered in this same Money Laundering case. Has the President reacted to the jailing of an Ex-Govenors wife, in sensible countries, it would be proper so seek the presidents stance. You wouldnt expect an ex-govenor of a state in the US to be jailed in Nigeria, and the US president not offering his reaction. Well Nigeria is rotten to the core |
@Ladi02, No, I dont think Pat Utomi has shown that much desperation, and besides I think he is the only one of the lot that understand what it take to move Nigeria where I think we should be going. Fashola / Ribadu would also be acceptable. But for anyone to think that the answer to Nigerias problem lies in PDP, I am afriad that person must be smoking paw-paw leaves. And besides, change is good, and Nigeria really does need a change |
@ Abagworo, You have a point, but opposition needs to unite. That is why I see a Pat Utomi / Nuhu Ribadu ticket as a probably the best Nigeria need for now |
Nigerian police gone mad. listen folk, Nigeria really needs an overhaul. We cannot mess about with this coming election, Nigerians really need to get it right this time. There is so much wrong with our society. Police Killing and brutality Politician stealing and engaging in all sorts Kidnapping Road traffic accidents poor state of the economy The list is endless. This is why we must really shine our eyes and choose right. Forget sentiments, and think properly about those who have the capability to deal with pressing issues, not selective cheap victories, but enduring stratergies and visions. the current bunch in PDP can not lead us there, please choose right. If not we are stuck with a country that nothing works for another 8yrs. |
Blazay, has a very good point and i have often sighted that. There is no clear distiction between the 2 candidates, except those which we choose to make in our minds to justify why we think one is better than the other. in my opinion Corruption remians the winner here. Not Atiku (Who I know to be massively corrupt), or GEJ (Who in himself is tainted with the corruption brush) PDP remains the main problem here, and like i have always said, there is noway you can pull a white shirt out looking clean from a pile of Shite. |
Beating a woman can never be right except in self defence if your life is in danger, or you are attacked on the streets by a crazy mad woman, then yes you can defen your self. but to suggest that is it ok to beat your spouse, just because you dont agree with her in some way, or she has upset you, is so so wrong. I doubt anyone would say they will be happy if thier mothers are beating up by theri son-inlaws, or another man beats your wife becuase she has upsetting him. Man you marry a wife to shield and protect her, not beat and suppress her. there are ways of dealing with deep issues that does not include violence. |
^^^^ and why did you like her? |
@Blacksta, The poster is only trying to get people fired up about being part of a possible change. There is nothing worng about that, infact it is commendable. We are very good at sitting and looking and doing absolutely nothing. That is why the president can back a deposed corrupt governor and no one says anything. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with this post |
What is so funny, is that our current president sees it fit to endorse and back a known election cheat /fraudstar who was named in this same trial. We have the Likes of Uduaghan, Odili (who got an injunction so he cannot be tried), Atiku, IBB to name but a few, running around freely, yet we have the balls to question the British legal system and the british people, some are even suggesting that the penalty is light. Go and challenge your president who is encouraging election cheats, fruadstar, corrupt politician and thieves. |
What a country. We always choose to celebrate BIG THIEVES, while good upright people are looked down on. How can anyone in thier right mind consider supporting one of the biggest thieves of our time is beyond me, but wait this is Nigeria, anything goes. I wont be suprised if IBORI after serving time is allowed to come and run for the top seat. |
Echala, Well done my brother. I will join this worthy cause, and I hope a lot of my Deltan brothers and sister would cease this opportunity to move our state forward. We have had good faith and the blessings of the lord on our side. the trial of an ex-convict governor, the jailing of his greedy wife and the depose and subsequent disgrace of the short ugly thief. We dont have excuses anymore, time to move our state forward. |
Whilst the sentence might seem small, Nkoyo will now been know as an ex-convict, and will be required to delcare that for the rest of her life. not a nice tag to be carrying about. We must not complain because our governemt has not done anything to fight corruption and jail offended, instead he is inviting them to dine with him. Was uduaghan not name in the same case, what has the governemtn done since to question him, rather the president is backing him for re-election |
Well at last. Her greed has finally caught up with her. Nkoyo didnt have to go down this line, but chose to following a highway robber in Suit. |
