for those who are rejoicing, is it well understood that Sin is Sin? If that is the case what is the difference between this Man and those who loot out treasury dry? Please we must leanr to recognise when a big wrong has been done, and in my opinion, this is one of those cases. this is an innocent man who has been killed unjustly, and this should never be seen as right. |
That is why Jesus said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". The killing of this man is wrong, we may not like what he does, but that does not give anyone the right to take his life. There can be no good logival reason for this, and it must be condenmed totally |
A Ugandan gay rights campaigner who last year sued a local newspaper which outed him as homosexual has been beaten to death, activists say. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12295718 This is so sad. Some may not like the acts they perform, but that is no reason to kill them. This is pure wickedness. |
Ujujoan:In Nigeria, people dont accept their inability to do things, they will accept positions knowing fully well what the outcome is likely to be. After all if he fails, no one can do anything to him. That's how it works in Bongo |
Ujujoan:Option E: Demote him, get an experienced hand to run things and show him how things are done |
I can almost guarantee you guys we will be spending that sort of money come 2015. Jega must resign now. Nigerians must learn how to make thier leaders accountable. I am sick and tired of our Money being wasted this way. I have nothing against the Prof, but I think this is way beyond him. I am confident there are seasoned Nigerians out there that can do a steller job. Uncle Jega should go and rest. |
Kobojunkie:I think he is actually asking for more money. See todays Guardian. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=36717:inec-wants-extra-n66b-for-voters-registration&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 |
Wrong man for the Job. Simple. |
Kobojunkie:I am glad you asked this, because like say na me, dem for accuse me of bad-mouthing the whole thing. Quite frankly the whole thing has been a real joke. How do you varify peoples identity and age? 87Billion naira for the rubbish of an excersize. |
^^^^ I beg tell them, becos me don tire. Jega, should step down. This whole thing need to be re-assessed and re-planned. There is not proof the job that has been done soe far is in anyway credible. How can people be made to beg and even cry to register to vote. This is so wrong |
binaflexia:Well this is the same medicine people take time without number to delude and decieve themselves. Why dont to add up the entire figures, and see what it come to 93.6 BN, let me make it clearer that is £395 Million. Now how does that sound for a generaly rubbish excersize so far. |
@Ikay88, You are right my brother. However there is a big difference between wanting change and making change. The Nigerian man or woman wants change, but the Nigerian man or woman is not prepared to do that which will bring change. And it starts by asking the key questions of those who have gotten into power by whatever means, and Nigerians believing and understanding that the country belongs to them and not a select few. But for me the most important thing is that we must all have a unified definition of right and wrong. Presently those words have an entirely different meaning in the Nigerian context, and that I believe is our major problem. Take for instance the ongoing voters registeration, which to me has been very bad. Why dont we all see it as that and find how we can move forward, instead people are keen on defending the indefensible. I do understand that people might have had varying experiences, but by and large it has not been a good excercise, considering the amount of money spent. |
spyder880:No need to cuss me. The truth they say can be bitter. The problem is Nigerians havent learn how to listen, digest, and accept the truth. That is why you are here, barking at me like a JunkYard dog instead of getting it. So you have just proven my point |
sweet9ja:I really dont care if GEJ won the primaries, all I am interested in is the process that ushers one in. If there is reason to suspect the process, what is wrong in voicing ones opinion, and if necessary taking steps to put things right. Sarah Jubril, has every right, like you and I to challenge a process if she feels it is wrong. A right most Nigerians do not understand that they have and should exercise. That is how you keep a govt in check |
Very funny, but extremely worrying. I remember when I started questioning this guys moves, I was quickly and swiftly shot down and dragged out with blood all over the floor by a lot of apologist on this forum. Let us step back a bit. Right from the inception, a lot of people were already singing his praises even before he lifted a finger, well for me I was looking out for a proper programme plan, one that showed promise that some of the issues from the last exercise had been tackled and addressed properly. I even recounted my 12hr experience during the last voter’s registration, on this forum. Anyway, then came the Delta state re-run. No matter what people say, it was very clear to me and those who wanted to see that the whole thing was a sham, with the same problems bugging things down, even Jega in his own words admitted that ballot box snatching and rowdy electioneering was the order of the day. Some were fixated on the point that my preferred candidate did not win, however I was more interested in a system which had shown very little signs of change, in fact in my candid assessment, I think it had regressed badly. People were failing to see my point of a man, who definitely wasn’t suited for the job. In times like this, our lack of honest assessment always gets the best of us. 2 weeks later, the voters registration kicks off, then we start getting all these horrible stories, including the wicked and false blaming of corpers. Well honestly I wasn’t surprised that the whole thing was going to be like this. Anyone who wanted to be objective, could see that proper planning and consultation had not being done, and the likelihood of a smooth and credible exercise was very remote, but being the Nigerians we are, we don’t face up to it and start making silly excuses. Key questions: 1: why was this contract not awarded to an organisation that has good solid experience of Biometric registration be it local of foreign? After all with a budget in excess of £300 million, you can get the brightest and the best. 2: Where is the accountability, why were Nigerians not updated regularly on the progress of the whole thing from planning to delivery? 3: Who is responsible? As far as I am concerned, no more money should be thrown at this thing, until Jega comes with a very detailed, credible and plausible plan. If he can’t, he must be relieved on the position, and someone with a better understanding brought in. The way things are going, I can guarantee you guy, we will be going through this same thing come 2015 |
I beg you people should leave her alone. She can speak good english, it is you people who cannot hear her properly. |
Jen33:Typical Nigerian, swimming in Shyt and still doesnt know it. keep deceiving yourself. I have said that mental health issues are the biggest problem facing us as a nation |
Jen33:Why dont you show me your own proof that what BBC said was wrong. I am now convinced that Nigeria is littered with young and old men with serious mental issues Which news media in the entire country can be considered credible |
Sorry oh, so this minister is more corrupt than Uduaghan and co? Another cheap point scoring scapegoatism. Let them go and catch the real big thieves |
wesley80:Wesley80, I am surprised that you are fall for this rubbish plan. People like you are the politically lazy we have in this country, not prepared to fight on merit, just sit and hope in comes your way. I can guarantee you that you will be pleasantly surprised. Mark it, I know Uduaghan well enough to confirm this your silly wish will come to nothing. Go and look around Delta North there are far more credible "less tainted" candidates that your Ifeanyi Okowa. I have told you and I will continue to, grow out of this slave mentality. The state belongs to you as well, do not allow the likes of Uduaghan continue to moleste you |
The poster is very right. Nigerians really havent gotten it. |
golamike:There is really very little reason why I should doubt bbc, simply because they are credible, and believe it or not, they check thoer sources out. That said, I think the issue here, which you have failed to grasp is not if Sarah Jubril lost, I think the issue here is what transpired and how the whole affair was conducted. I would have cried foul even if it was not pdp, and things were done wrong |
koastar:Too bad that Nigerians think that people do exactly the same rottern things we do back home. Funny enuff I am one of the delegates in the UK, and they dont use money as some of you have allerged. You see this is the rot that has finish Nigeria as a country, we refuse to face up to our failures and accuse others of doing the same |
redsun:My bro, no be small mago-mago. For every 1 thief them catch, 500 are walking free. |
Ournaija:Thank you very much. This woman has not dome anything wrong, and like u have suggested might have information we dont. Please let her excersize her right, something most us dont understand how to do |
redsun:Exactly, why do people see what she is doing as wrong? she is entitled to raise any objections, it is her right. Something the typical Nigerian doesnt understand. The Nigerian is content to be fed scraps. They wont complain and act about the shameful voters registers They wont complain about adequate security, They wont complain about the lack of jobs and opportunities for all, schools, good roads, hospitals. All the do is critisize those who dare to |
redsun:My brother it is so true. I had exactly the same experience. The damn thing has eaten us dry. Merit has been thrown out of the door, and this is the main problem with us, but the typical Nigerian doesnt see it, even the so called well educated |
redsun:My brother, so true. But it will never happen in Nigeria. The so called middle class are too damn selfish to care about genuine change. |
redsun:My broda, I tire. I am telling you morality is zero in our country. People are even suggesting that she should have brided if that is the issue. Someone posted here that Nigeria will not be good, even in 50yrs, and I agree 100%. with an attitude that believes lobbying includes stuffing evelopes with money, after all it is our way. We are a sick society, very sick |
shakara4u:I asked for a simple definition of lobbying in the Nigerian context. Believe me, the definition of lobbying in the UK does not include stuffing envelopes with cash. |
aguiyi:And what is the Nigerian definition of lobbying? This is what gets me about our people, even where there might be a case of an obvious wrong, we are prepared to dance around the truth. I maintain. The Lady has every right to challenge a process if it is clear to her that there was an obvious wrong, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. |
I dont think anyone on here can say for sure that nothing suspecious happned during the primaries. My point remains that if there is reason to question the process, she has every right to do that without being antagonised as some of you are doing. If this was the UK and you are picking a party leader, and there is wift of money changing hands, I cant even suggest what would happen. Now are people denying that the 5000 / 7000 dollar issue never happened? Strange people, funny country |
