Is this really a crime in so Muslim countries? A 23 year old artist and film maker Ilya Novikov was arrested for impersonating Jesus Christ after he was spotted walking along a road carrying a huge wooden cross on his back in the city of Perm in central Russia's Perm Krai region. A video recorded by an eyewitness showed the bearded artist wearing long flowing white robe as he walked along the street with a T-shaped cross. Motorists saw him and called the Police. wo policemen quickly arrived on the scene to arrest him - but struggled to fit his cross in the back of their patrol car. They eventually succeeded and took Mr Novikov to a police station for questioning and was later released. A police spokesman said: "A man in white clothes, carrying a cross, was spotted by onlookers and police were called to the scene. Officers talked with the man at the police station and let him go." Mr Novikov said: "My friend gave me some wooden sticks so I made a cross out of them. The experience of Jesus Christ was repeated. People were laughing, shouting and mocking me. 'This reaction proves that the Bible story was true and that after 2,000 years people have still not changed - we are still cruel and intolerant to our neighbours." But Father Igor Anoufriev, the rector of the city's Church of St George, condemned the stunt as blasphemy. Police officers said the stunt was a potential traffic hazard. more photos @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/08/man-spotted-walking-with-giant-cross.html cc mynd44 obinoscopy lalasticlala seun

So weird. Almost 20m high terrace, in Parliament Square, offers spectacular views of some of the city's main attractions, including Big Ben, the London Eye and Westminster Abbey. More adventurous visitors will also be able to enjoy a work out in the nude, with a round of swing-ball or a bounce on the trampoline. Managing director of NOW TV Gidon Kartz says: “As a nation, it seems we're increasingly avoiding being "tied down" in life. 'We're going to keep breaking away from traditional conventions; firstly contracts, and now clothes.” The nudist terrace was opened following new research that revealed young Brits today are the 'No Strings' generation, as they avoid being 'tied down' in life compared to their parents. Some may say when the time comes and some people may say it easier said than done, but I must tell you, these actresses are not kidding when they said they will not leave their man to any woman if they are cheating. Nollywood actresses Adesua Etomi, Sika Osei, Mo’Cheddah & Beverly Naya discussed different topics in the latest issue of Genevieve magazine, including how to handle a cheating man. See what they have to say below.... Below are the snippets from when the women were asked whether they would accept leave their man after he cheated on them: Beverly: “If it was just once, then no. If it is a constant thing, I’m out. If it is a mistake and you can genuinely see the remorse and he feels dirty and filthy then I wouldn’t leave you but if you feel like you’re entitled to cheat because you are a man, then I’m out.” Adesua: “No. When you’re a lot younger, you say you will get a divorce. But you as you mature, you realize that men are just wired that way. That doesn’t mean its ok or its license for them to cheat, but it is not enough for me to leave. Sika: “No. But if you cheated as a woman, trust me your husband will not be there. I think 70% of men would leave. It is the height of disrespect to a lot of men but if they cheated they would expect you to understand.” Mo’Cheddah: “No. …in hard times and in good times, in sickness and in health. (In response to Sika) It depends on who you are with. I feel like if I cheated on my boyfriend he would not leave me.” The ladies also gave their input on two things never to discuss with a guy: One is about how many men you have slept with. Native hot drinking popularly know as Ogogoro is well known in Nigeria and suffice to say, it is also well known that their has been recent deaths which has been attributed to the "over consumption" of this native hot drinks. Well it is that time again as it has claimed the life of 4 Nigerians again. Weda you call it ogogoro or kparaga or shipke or kii kii, they are all the same thing. It was a sad day in Ibara Housing Estate of Abeokuta, Ogun State. After drinking the local liquor, popularly called Ogogoro or illicit gin, four people reportedly died. According to Punch the seller of the liquor, Salako Taloju, who also worked as a gateman, was arrested by policemen from the Ibara Police Station on Tuesday, August 16. The suspect said that the victims were residents of the area and he did not poison the liquor. The deceased were identified by their nicknames: Baba Imeko, Baba Onwenue and Easy, while the fourth victim’s name had yet to be ascertained. It was gathered that Taloju, who had been selling the liquor for over 20 years, resisted arrest, claiming that he was innocent. Taloju, who spoke incoherently to journalists, said: “We were friends and we had been drinking together for a long time. I do not know why they have to accuse me now of killing them. I also took out of the liquor and nothing happened to me.” When asked if he had reported the matter to his boss, Taloju said: “Do you want to kill me? My boss has warned me on several occasions not to drink again, but I refused.” One of the residents of the area, Mrs Kemi Adepitan, confirmed that the victims died after consuming the liquor. She said: “It is true that they died. Some other sympathizers and I paid a condolence visit to the house of one of the victims this morning.” The acting police public relations officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the command did not receive any report of death. He said: “As far as we are concerned, it is a rumor. If any of their relatives comes and complains that their family members died, then, we can confirm it. We have not seen any corpse. Even though a suspect has been arrested, he is drunk and we cannot rely on his statement.” Meanwhile it has become obvious that the ancient tradition of herbal remedies is making a resurgence and finding its way back not only onto the market, but more especially into the hearts of many people who, despite the availability of orthodox medicine, are redirecting their healthcare towards the raw provision of nature. Many people have resorted to the tradition of taking drinks like this. more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/08/4-people-died-in-abeokuta-ogun-state.html

Nigerian Soldiers Pluck Out Eye Of FRSC Official Who Pleaded Mercy For A Victim Being Tortured As much as we as the citizens of this country applaud the resilience of the Nigeria Army in fighting Boko Haram, we cannot condone insolence in this country and the Nigerian soldiers have always been victimizing people a lot. This is outrageous. According to an article on Sahara Reporter, An official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Segun Enikuemehin, who dared to ask some military men who were assaulting a civilian to desist from such a dastardly act is currently at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) with one of his eyes totally damaged. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when Mr. Enikuemehin came upon the military men beating a harmless civilian. Convinced that the military officials would beat the man to death if nothing was done, he reportedly walked up the angry soldiers and pleaded that they let the man go or hand him over to the police if he had done something illegal. The military men would not take such effrontery lightly as they descended on the Good Samaritan and started beating him as well. But not even the beating from the soldiers would discourage him, and he managed amidst his own beating to rescue the already battered man, whom he then took to the Adekunle Police station at Ebute Metta. Our sources say that thereafter, Mr. Enikuemehin led the police back to the venue of the incident. Upon sighting him in the company of the policemen, the soldiers, who were by that time already cooling off at a nearby beer parlor, became even enraged and descended on Mr. Enikuemehin, during which they eye was plucked out. The damaged eye was reportedly picked from the ground and the man rushed down to the General Hospital. Rejected upon arrival by that hospital, the blinded man reportedly asked that he be taken to LUTH. Meanwhile, the soldiers, upon realizing what they had done, were said to have taken to their heels but were overtaken by residents and handed over to the police. The story got messier when a relative of the stabbed Federal Road Safety Officer went back to the police station only to find that the military men had already been released by the police. While still digesting that development, one of the accused soldiers walked into the station in the company of a senior officer who was identified as Captain Okoli. Speaking to SaharaReporters, Mr. Enikuemehin’s Uncle, Prince Ojatunwse Oluwajoba, said the DPO of Adekunle Police Station informed him when he got there that the soldier who stabbed his nephew had been handed over to the military authorities. He said that soldier, who had been in civilian clothes when the incident happened, arrived at the police station with Captain Okoli to collect his identity card and other personal effects that had been taken from him at the station. According to Mr. Oluwajobaa, doctors at LUTH are now saying his nephew’s left eye has been completely damaged and that the second eye might be affected as well if proper medical care is not given. more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/08/nigerian-soldiers-pluck-out-eye-of-frsc.html cc lalasticlala seun mynd44 obinoscopy

Its almost decades since RCCG GO's message on single ladies and single guys hit the air and yet its effect are still been felt till today. The latest being the Nigerian-Born British-Ghanian singer, Lola Rae thoughts on Pastor Adeboye’s sermon. This sermon that stirred the social media recently when Pastor Adeboye admonished men not to marry women that could not cook still keeps raising controversies. This is what she told PUNCH: “Yes, I was brought up in a home where my mum cooked for my dad every single day, but she was a housewife. My thought is if you have the time, it is okay to cook for your husband, but in a situation where you are a career woman and don’t have the time to cook, there are ways you can go about it. “You can hire someone to do the cooking for you or cook in bulk on weekends and store in the freezer. “Definitely, if I have the time, I will cook because I love to do so. If God allows me and gives me the time do that, I will cook every day. I’m a born again Christian but I think it is his (Pastor Adeboye) opinion and he is entitled to it and if that’s what he feels like the Lord is telling him, then that’s his own message but if there are other people who feel they don’t want their wives to do that and want their wives to support them and that’s what they feel it is their story, then that should happen. I feel that’s his opinion,” What do you think guys? more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/08/men-need-support-not-cooks-lola-rae.html cc lalasticlala mynd44

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has reacted to accusations leveled against him and his Ekiti state counterpart, Ayodele Fayose, by Ali Modu Sheriff. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter binciki Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has reacted to accusations leveled against him by Ali Modu Sheriff. Wike said that contrary to the claim by the factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, he has no plan to hijack the party. The Rivers state governor also rejected Sheriff’s condition that he (Wike) should step down as the National Chairman of the PDP National Convention Planning Committee and that the party’s convention should be moved to Abuja. The governor was reacting to the PDP factional chairman’s allegation that he (Wike) and his counterpart from Ekiti state, Mr Ayo Fayose, were making moves to seize the control of the party at the national level. Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Monday, August 15, Wike described Sheriff as being petty, adding that he would continue to give the PDP the support it required. Also describing Sheriff as a member of the party who was not ready to make sacrifices for the party to move forward, the governor pointed out that Sheriff failed to prove his critics, who predicted that he would destroy the PDP, wrong. “Did we hijack the party when he said he never expected he would be chairman and then we made him chairman? Now, because it is not in his favour, he is saying we are hijacking the party. “It is very wrong for Sheriff to have said that. When did he come to the party? We were in the PDP since its formation. Am I going to hijack the party from a person that just (recently) became a member? “Sheriff has nothing to say again and that is why he is talking about the hijacking of the party. Who is going to contribute more in terms of PDP winning? I am from Rivers State, he (Sheriff) is from Borno. “What is the vote from Borno that he gave to the PDP and what is the vote from Rivers that I gave to the PDP? If there is election today, who will support the PDP more? Is it him from his state or me from Rivers state?” See complete news @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/08/governor-wike-attacks-sheriff-rejects.html cc mynd44 obinoscopy

Prominent groups and individuals have berated the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, for claiming that budget padding is not an offence. In separate interviews on Friday with Saturday PUNCH, they said that the Speaker’s statement showed that he was not sensitive to the suffering of Nigerians. Dogara, after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, said that he would not resign over the budget padding allegation levelled against him and 12 others by a former Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin. The Speaker also said that budget padding was not an offence under the law. In an interview with journalists after the meeting, which lasted for 30 minutes, the Speaker said, “I studied Law and I have been in the legislature and all this period I have never heard of the word ‘padding’ being an offence under any law.” It is criminal—Falana, Afenifere, others Condemning the Speaker, a human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), insisted that the alleged padding of the Federal Government’s budget by some members of the National Assembly constituted a criminal offence. He explained that the offence of padding the budget was not a “once-and-for-all” like murder. The senior lawyer said it started as conspiracy while planning it and concluded when it was used to draw money fraudulently after the budget had been passed. Falana had also said that it was logical for those implicated in the scam to step down because Jibrin had done the same. He said, “The act violates Fiscal Responsibility Act. Section 13 of the Fiscal Responsibility Act prescribes that relevant agencies, including the National Assembly, make input into the budget. Relevant government agencies are required to do the costing for the projects to be included in the budget. The newly released statement by the federal government of Nigeria yesterday regarding the missing Chibok girls is causing little bit of stirr as it didn't go well with the founder of #bringbackourgirls, Oby and some other notable activist. They now think this is being politicized. The statement released yesterday urged the advocacy group of the missing Chibok school girls, Bring Back Our Girls, not to give up on efforts by the government to rescue the missing girls and not to waver in their support for the government in the war against terrorism and in the ongoing effort to free all Nigerian citizens taken captive by the Boko Haram terrorist group.
