The greed of the southeast is absolutely sickening. After all southerners have decided to field a southern president, it’s igbos that now wants to betray everyone else by claiming the presidency for themselves. As if the SS and SW shouldn’t compete. Absolute nonsense.

1. BA made it possible for Africans to permanently reside in the US, before the Civil Rights Act the Whites didn't allow you to become citizens because they didn't want anymore "Niggas" here, that's why Trump wanted you out.

2. Latinos and Asians aren't a problem for BA, never were and never will be. They are of no consequences. LMAO grin at they come into our neighborhoods and beat us up.

3. Latinos are cool, I have them as my neighbors, they're very sweet people. BA are cool with Africans but it's just something mentally wrong with most Nigerians.
Ok now I know you’re a white racist trolling. Or you’re just mentally unstable. Asians that literally have beaten up black Americans in black neighborhoods, and they “aren’t a problem”?! Who the hell do you think you’re fooling?

1. Some of the posters think BA should support Nigeria simply because we share the same skin tones even though Nigerians are bigoted against BA.

2. You lack reading skills, I said "Black Americans have PAVED the way for you to exist in the US through the Civil Rights Act.

3. You Nigerians are hunted down like gorillas in the US as well as the rest of the world where you infest your presence including your homeland Nigeria, so what are you talking about?
Let’s be very clear, Black Americans didn’t pave the way for anyone with the civil rights act, they paved the way for themselves because they couldn’t vote. For you to tout that as some noble things done for Africans specifically is absolutely ridiculous, and a blatant lie. And if you wanted to go there, it is easily more utilized than Latinos, which you refuse to go argue with even though they are the real ones that treat Black Americans like shit, and Asians, which treat black Americans worse than shit, come to your neighborhoods to beat you up, yet you STILL go and patronize their shops.

I’ll ask you a very simple question, what is your point here? To spew hatred at Africans? I wonder if you’ve done that to Asians, or Latinos which far outnumber the number of African immigrants, but instead of taking yourself to face them on their forums, you come here like the coward you are spewing nonsense. Just begone already. You’ve added nothing to the conversation.

seunmsg:
All the handles arguing in favor of Atiku on this thread are all from the south east. They will later move to another thread to call Yorubas betrayals and Fulani slaves. Never seen a people that defines confusion so effortlessly. They've got their priorities so mixed up that they don't even know where to stand. Smh!
It’s in their DNA. I’ve said it before, there’s two things you can bank on with Igbos: 1. Hatred for Yorubas, no matter how hard they try to hide it. 2. Their dispersed and separated culture. It’s a reason why they never had a singular civilization, and always had separate autonomous communities. Nation building is against their nature. Nigeria really gave them prominence. If Lord Luggard drew the map differently, an Igbo nation will be in coup after coup for a very very long time. It’s also a reason why they suffer in politics and can’t make a stand on anything as a group.

UNTIL AFRICAN COUNTRIES NATIONALIZE THEIR NATURAL RESOURCES TO ADD VALUE TO THEM BEFORE EXPORT, WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUFFER.

I hoped this opened the eyes of southerners. Instead of there to be a free election between southern candidates, Igbos have explicitly stated that they will prefer northerners to win if they are not the only choice. They would choose a northerner over an Ijaw, over a Yoruba, over an Edo, over EVERY southerner. These people are cowards and snakes in the grass.

THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT FROM THEIR LEADERS!!!
PoliticsRe: Akintoye On UN protest: FG planted IPOB banner among Yoruba Nation agitators by MrMaestro: 5:27pm On Sep 17, 2021
Mr. Akintoye is right and brilliant on this. This was a YORUBA NATION PROTEST. He’s not against IPOBs but if you want, ORGANIZE YOUR OWN. Very disrespectful to put an IPOB flag in a Yoruba Nation protest. If you want to do a joint protest organize with the leaders for a separate joint protest.

I do believe Biafrans understand this already, which is why this wasn’t done by them but by the govt. Glad Akintoye cleared that up.

Kanu has been doing this for longer but igboho rocked the south on ground so much that people have woken up within 1 year of his arrival. The south is now using their intellect to bring federalism by fire and force. The northern states better wake up fast and join the 21st century.

Makinde inspects on-going Akobo flyover, Lekan Salami Stadium, Ajia-Airport-Ife Expressway projects

…says govt ‘ll continue to improve sport facilities to empower youths, develop Oyo economy

Oyo State governor, ’Seyi Makinde, on Friday, inspected on-going infrastructure projects in Ibadan, including the Akobo-General Gas Flyover, the 21-kilometer Ajia-Airport-New Ife Expressway road, with spur to Amuloko and the Lekan Salami Sport Complex remodeling project.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the quality of the works being done by the contractors, saying that he was excited with the pace of work done so far.
He added that the scope of the projects has been well covered, while the schedule is being followed.

Speaking with newsmen at the Lekan Salami Sport Complex, Adamasingba, shortly after inspecting the projects, the governor said that his administration will continue to improve sport facilities in the state to empower youths and develop the economy.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, indicated that the Lekan Salami Sport Complex has been upgraded to FIFA standard, with four world class Changing Rooms, capacity for 25 players and Wet Areas with capacity for 11 players at a time.

Others were the Doping Control Room, Clinic, Referee's Room, Match Officials Room and a Youth Centre/Ball Boys Rooms.
The statement added that the stadium has also, in line with FIFA requirement, been equipped with state-of-the-art Studio, including CCTV facilities that can monitor five kilometre radius of the stadium and also the Ibadan Airport, as well as world class gadgets that will enable the linking of the stadium to a minimum of four stadia.

The statement also noted a new training pitch, a multipurpose hall for Basketball, Volleyball and Handball, a new Squash Hall and a 50 by 30 Metres Multipurpose Hall completed with a centre court, for gymnasium, boxing, judo, kickboxing will also be delivered at the facility.
In his speech, Governor Makinde said: "Well, I will say so far, so good, the scope is well covered and we have made quite some progress. Also, the schedule is being followed.
"I will say I am excited and I look forward to the official opening, which has now been pushed to the 1st of September. I also look forward to seeing our darling team, Shooting Stars, beat the foreign Team.

"When I was campaigning, people asked me questions about job opportunities for our youths and I said discovering sporting talents is one way of engaging our youths. And this is one of such projects that can enable us to achieve that.
"Also, we want to be on the map internationally by hosting international sporting events, not just football. We have seen the centre courts for the Tennis, Swimming Pool project and the facilities for volleyball, boxing, kick-boxing and the rest."

The governor promised to utilise sports to develop the economy of the state, saying: "So, we want to utilise sports to also develop our economy. We want to keep coming here every week by God's grace to watch Shooting Stars play in the National Premiership League and to also play competitions in Africa.
“We also want Shooting Stars to go on and play the World Club Cup competition, which I know is not beyond us.

"We have to bring development to our people, to our city and our state. That was why we were elected in the first place.
"Some of those projects should be nearing completion right now. We wanted to check and be sure that, indeed, what we have on ground matches the report I have been getting. And I can tell you that I am quite impressed with the contractor.”

Signed
Taiwo Adisa

And this why the government of Benin will lock him up and throw away the keys for years. This is because soon there would be agitation in Benin to either joint yoruba in Nigeria or to go their separate ways. To stop this from happening Benin republic will lock Igboho up for 21years
Honestly that sounds like a fantasy idea. We should trash the “Federal” republic of Nigeria and form “Federal Republic of Yorubaland” or “United States of Yorubaland” each with their own regions.

PoliticsRe: Defeat Of Biafra And Flaws In The Igbo Culture. by MrMaestro:
QuotaSystem:
I strongly disagree.

The Yoruba are quite loyal to one another and very strategic (what some might call treachery) which is why they have been a very effective and politically relevant group in this multi-ethnic country. See how we had an all Yoruba Presidential contest in 1999? (out of 250+ ethnic groups)
Don't be deceived about their Governors. One of the greatest strengths of the Yorubas their perfection of the skill of stooping to conquer.
The overinflated ego of Aconomist aside, I find your posts the most unbiased and genuinely insightful. So thank you!

I will say this about the Yorubas, previous to the year 2021, the Yorubas have been contempt with reaping the economic benefits of Nigeria, and yielding most (not all) of the political power to the Fulanis. It has been an unspoken mutual understanding for decades. I always wondered why Yorubas weren’t more aggressive in being both the economic and political heartbeat of this country. However Yorubas are naturally strategic, and know that one single tribe cannot do both and succeed for very long. Tensions will rise and secession will brew.

However this year has changed things. With the speed and effectiveness that the southwest governors have begun curbing the actions of the north politically by organizing and leading the south, has led me to believe that they were just playing ball with the north before, and are unwilling to do it any longer because it is no longer beneficial to the SW.

They SW elite have begun to realize that though economic power is the most important power, the current political power the north has can break this country. So the strategy is shifting. I truly think the SW will start being much more aggressive in curbing northern political hegemony, while continuing to make gains economically. Because the fear of rubbing tribes the wrong way with complete economic and political domination is out the window if the country is near the tipping point of disintegration anyway.

I think on some level Yoruba elite were confident that Fulanis were at least competent enough to not reach this point, where they’ve made so many blunders at the federal level that the country is on the brink of disintegration.

As a result of all this, I see either two things, Yoruba wins in 2023 and cements a southern political hegemony that will stand for at least the next decade, or this country will separate and SW will take the economic gains garnered to continue to grow in a new republic. Only time will tell.

I do believe that a Nigeria run and controlled by the Yorubas in totality has the chance of competing with India, Poland and Vietnam. Not necessarily because of a desire for power like the Fulanis, Tinubu aside Yorubas generally don’t strive for that as a tribe. And not necessarily because of a desire for wealth /finance like the Igbos, though Yorubas value that too. But because of a desire for greatness (and greatness for Nigeria by association). With the intelligence and desire to create a 21st century country, the morality of justice and equity, and the humility to step aside if necessary to let another lead, something I truly think Igbos and Fulanis both struggle with. It’s unfortunate that we’ve had to reach this point as a country, but I think that in whichever direction this goes within the next 3-5 years, will set each region up for greater prosperity for the next 50.

You be worst than Buhari, look comment is full of tribalism
That's a praise in my eyes. The days of "tribalism" being used as a negative is LONG GONE for Yorubas. Everyone has been tribal in this contraption except the Yorubas, and it's LING PAST TIME that Yorubastart becoming much more tribal for the sake of survival and retention of power and influence.
