If the BB pin requires internet connection, then what's the hype cos it would be no different from yahoo messenger, msn messenger, ovi messaging for Nokia, skype for mobiles, AIM e.t.c so u still incur internet charges, totally pointless.
Beats me! that was the only reason I could think for the craze for blackberry.

Are both better than Nokia N97? I need someone to answer me pls because I'm about to buy N97 32GB Version
I am a N series fan anytime, anyday. N97 32 is good. If you want soemthing small, go for the N97 mini. However, if you are concerned with performance, go for N900. You can compared them to get your preference by going to the nokia site.

PS: N900 is my choice

CelebritiesRe: I Am Two Personalities In One---------------------omotola Jalade Ekehinde by MsTom(f): 2:02pm On Apr 07, 2010
jennykadry:
What do you mean by two sides of you?

I have tried to explain it. But people do not seem to understand me, probably, I don’t understand it myself. I am beginning to understand it now though. There are two parts of me. The first one is the Omosexy, who is sexy, curly, playful, full of laughter, and always trying to satisfy everybody. Then there is the other side of me which I call Omo-T. Omo-T is brasher, straight to the point, blunt, fierce and basically a rocker and very Tomboyish.

In the past, I had struggled with these two personalities. Many people did not understand it. Someone like my husband when talking will be like which part of you am I dealing with now? I myself have struggled with both personalities, but now I understand it a bit with the help of my husband.
Yeah yeah. We know that someone could have 2 personalities and it is called multiple personality disorder. No need to struggle with it any further. The first step to solve a problem is to admit you have one. Next step, go see a psychologist. He needs to know which one is the actress and which one is the singer so as to enable him suppress the singer.

Christianity EtcRe: What's Your Take On Divorce? by MsTom(f): 4:42pm On Apr 06, 2010
Two months is such a short time to make a decision such as divorce. They are still supposed to be in "honeymoon" phase. what were they doing before they got married? where was this so called pastor before they got married? What could have happened within that two months? The pastor should be concerned and not be contributing to their divorce. I think the couple should give it time. Except the marriage itself is a fake

Yeah right, tell me how many people did he kill, lol. grin grin grin
I guess it is safe to say that the terrorist who are successful have had a form of training and planing and those who fail were not prepared or fully trained. Not all suicide bombers are successful. Not all killers are successful. If the taxi driver had done his calculations, using maths and physics [/s]and chemistry[s], dont you think he would have killed all those on board in the name of Jesus? Tell me, what would be your reaction? Would it be that a "mad-man" killed all the people on board of a plane? Tell me, what is the difference between what this taxi driver did and what mutallab did? To me, nothing. They had the same motive- to kill and be killed and both were unsucessful. If mutallab is a terrorist, then this taxi driver is a terrorist. Treat it as such. Or are you waiting till another taxi driver from the south successfully blast an airplane killing all those on board?

I wont be surprised if somewhere, a pastor (christain extremist) is brain washing people into fighting a "holy war" just like some islamic extremist are brainwashing some into fighting a "holy war".

PoliticsRe: Taxi Cab Driver Rams Into Plane In Airport by MsTom(f): 6:43pm On Apr 02, 2010
I do not support violence. I am a christian but I have noticed that the government the US, Nigerian and others are hypocrites. Any where you hear that a Muslim bombed a place, they start crying out as if Muslims are the only ones doing it. I am not surprised that the taxi driver is a christian and a southerner for that matter. If you have watched the documentary titled God's warrior by Christiane Aamanpour, you would know that we have them cut across different religions- the Muslims, christian and Jews, People who are ready to kill for what they believe in. They have been attacking and they are still attack. They are called radicals. Some Muslims condemn suicide bombing. So also Christians and Jews. Yet, we have amongst these people (Christians, Muslim and Jews) who believe that violence is the answer. Now-a-days, we have seen people who do not attach themselves to any of these religion, performing murder-suicide. They are killing for what they believe in. Example is the man that flew his plane to the IRS building in Texas-( the funny thing is some Americans supported his cause), another is the man that killed the abortion doctor in the church. In Nigeria, we hear of people killing for rituals, people killing for politics, people killing for cattle, etc. Tell me, are these not terrorist acts? Even area boys perform act of terrorism. Define terrorism. It is an act (the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear).

All of them should be treated as such- terrorists. I was shocked when they ruled the case of the man who flew his plane to the IRS building as a criminal case and not a terrorist attack. If the man had been Muslim, they would have regarded it as such. We have enough home grown terrorist regardless of their religion. We are all blinded by the govt that the only terrorist are the Muslims. What about the Jews? Why would they fly their military planes over Iran without permission? No one saw anything bad in that and yet when the Iranian replied by testing their weapons as a warning to the Israelis, nations criticized them? The question to be asked is who exactly are the terrorist?

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Removed From Us 'mandatory Screening' List by MsTom(f): 5:15pm On Apr 02, 2010
And I bet the "real-time, threat-based intelligence along with multiple, random layers of security, both seen and unseen, to more effectively mitigate evolving terrorist threats."  and "Travellers will be picked out according to how closely they match intelligence on potential terrorist threats"
still applies to "all travellers from 14 nations, brought in after the failed attack on a flight in December".

Who says Nigeria is out of the list? Who says those with Nigerian passport would be treated fairly?

EducationRe: Why Do Nigerian Students Fail Jamb Exams? by MsTom(f): 3:08pm On Mar 30, 2010
Black_Revo:
There are different marking schemes for different exams and trust me they are very necessary, these are not primary school exams.

There are more complicated marking schemes than what JAMB is using, you do not want to hear about the SAT, ACTS, GMAT, GRE and co. Marking schemes are not complicated to implement because they are not done manually but on the computer. Those who have knowledge in computing, mathematics and statistics will explain to you better.
Aparently, the JAMB marking scheme isnt working. I still stand by this tot. that those who sit for JAMB and fail sit for SAT, GRE et all and yet they pass. Afterall, they have marking schemes too. If by any chance these kids who fail jamb get to a university, they come out first class or 2-1. I have seen cases where these students had to do A-levels from a school in the north (cant remember the name of the school now) and use the result as an entrance to the university. There is more to JAMB than students reading for JAMB. Believe me, some kids still read while of cos, some dont read but guess who passes. Question is, WHAT IS WRONG?
EducationRe: Why Do Nigerian Students Fail Jamb Exams? by MsTom(f): 1:59pm On Mar 30, 2010
hameet:
naija pickins, JAMB's marking scheme is American, that means in a multiple choice exam, it is better u leave out the ones u re not sure of the answer cos it will cost u to choose a wrong answer. this affects nigerian students who like to play the guessing game with multiple choice questions, e.g., in an exam of 200 multiple choice questions, if you get 120 questions correctly and lose 80, the marking sheme is such that it will subtract the 80 u lost from the 120 u got right and at the end of the day your mark will be 40 out of 200 and u start wondering what happened. i personally think students should be told about this scheme so as to minimize low(NOT FAILURE) marks in such exams.
Heard of this once. My question, why should there be a marking scheme? shouldnt a right answer should be a right answer and a wrong answer should be a wrong answer?

texazzpete:
JAMB scripts aren't marked by hand, you ninny!
with all these marking scheme, are you sure?
EducationRe: Why Do Nigerian Students Fail Jamb Exams? by MsTom(f): 12:51pm On Mar 30, 2010
If people fail that much over a very long period of time, then, the JAMB itself should be questioned. Personally, I feel Jamb is not a true test of knowledge. People who read hard for it fail or pass by a little over 200 and those who pass even to over 300 have been proved to know nothing when they get to universities. Have you ever wondered how someone who passed WAEC with good grades fail JAMB and yet, they pass SAT, TOEFL, A-LEVELS (ok, that was going overboard) ? My sugestion is scrap JAMB. OR, let it be proctered and handled by prometrics for example. OR better yet, let the universities set a form of entrance exams for the students. Some universities( not sure of now) do not even trust the Jamb results themselves.
PoliticsRe: Akunyili's Confirmation Stirs The Senate! by MsTom(f): 12:39pm On Mar 30, 2010
What is this ranting about loyalty to yaradua or to jonathan? Yet, some of us are debating that. The loyalty should be toward the constitution and the people of the land. Her action spoke volume. Be loyal to the constitution and whoever obeys it. Didnt her action cause a stir and a form of transformation to the system? Were not the people being played like a fool? She is a bold woman and jonathan would be honored to have her work with him again.

People who work for the good of the land can be allowed to do so again. "Recycling" to me, is when you are useful to yourself but useless to the people of the land

PoliticsRe: Pdp Urges Jonathan To Probe Looting by MsTom(f): 4:26pm On Mar 29, 2010
Beaf:
An indictment is a mere accusation, the EFCC never went forward with any case. I am not in any way defending Jonathans wife (I am not sure she is a PDP member anyway). In any event, it all seems weak and circumstancial and possibly a political rumour to weaken his chances in the then bitter fight for the office of VP.
Hence why he needs to clear that accusation if he is indeed clean. Show records. He is a public figure. Whether the wife is PDP or not, she is his wife and an "ag first lady" for that matter.
PoliticsRe: Pdp Urges Jonathan To Probe Looting by MsTom(f): 4:07pm On Mar 29, 2010
Beaf:
Do you think he isn't ready? Afterall, it was his own party, the PDP that was at the forefront of making him look like Turai's houseboy. Is the cabal not PDP?
I do not thinks so. If he is, he would start from his house. Wasnt his wife indicted by EFCC for money laudering? Even his assets are in question. Baggages like that, if not cleared, has a way of slowing one down.

@Dayo,

Trucking biz. Some truckers in America are from europe (Romanians) and they speak little english. Another is that one can have a "on the road" resturants. People eat no matter what. The spanish have cleaning biz that have gone 21st century. Before, Nigerians ventured to the mortgage and realty biz. I dont know about that now due to the housing problems. You dont need good english to prosper in this country. Sit and think of something new that you can do for yourself. One doesnt have to do what other naijas are doing. There are legit biz out there.

dayokanu:
He paid cash on these trucks. The trucks are like 1989-1990 model. The same money his cab driving mates were spraying on Wasiu and Obesere was the one he pooled together to buy the trucks

There's nothing wrong with driving a cab, my licensed aviator uncle drove a cab abroad for years and is now back home retired in jos with his wife after years of service.
