Dagbolu: When he was declared Acting President he had a lot of momentum and good will on his side. Be mindful that there were people who put their personal safety and livelyhood at risk to agitate for him to be made Acting President. On being recognised as Acting President he was advised and encouraged to reshuffle the Cabinet and bring in people he can work with to help move the country forward. This advice and encouragement came from most quaters of the country. But, he dithered and dithered and allowed the cabals to regroup, plan and implement their plans. He stood still while these people did all the runnings. Now look at the outcome.
Politics is not for indecisive personalities or nice guys. Its a power game and one needs to outsmart opponents otherwise power cannot be gained. Cant wait for the day when youths like you can stand up and declare your intentions to run for the office of the presidency. I would campaign for you. |

Fhemmmy: In this case, i am just surprised that no one is saying anything among the powerful. No comment from IBB and OBJ Why would they? when the election is around the corner. Do you want them to lose the backing of the Northern powers that be? Have you forgotten that the presidency Nigeria is being recycled? |
Politics › Re: Jonathan To Remain In Charge While Yar'adua Recovers by MsTom(f): 9:06pm On Feb 24, 2010 |
Dagbolu: The reason these confusionists are still able to destabilise Nigeria is because Mr Goodluck Jonathan has so far acted cowardly by refusing to exercise the power vested in him when he was declared Acting President two weeks ago. He has behaved like someone who is in office but not in power. He should have acted more decisively by sacking those who are responsible for all these chaos and appointed people who are progressive in their thinking.
The only power he had as the ag. president was to mobilize the law makers (in quote) to start the impeachment process. That is his only err. He had no power what-so-ever. He was acting. He was NOT the president
Now he finds himself surrounded by enemies of our Constitution, Democracy and Unity. Would we not be better placed to succeed as a nation if the FEC was now made up of people who are really interested in Rule of Law, Democracy and Unity.
Finally, I consider Mr Goodluck Jonathan a weak personality whose fear and anxieties might have cost Nigerians an opportunity to break free from political slavery. Why wont he be weak? He was practically alone in the politics except for the backing of Nigerians who are now comfortably seated in their homes with their families.
However, we must not loose hope because if we persevere as a people that we want the politicians to do the right thing, then we can still defeat the political Carbals in Nigeria who are using Yar Adua's name to enslave the Nigerian people.
Funny, it is not new in Nigeria for one person in the name of power to enslave the people, yet the people did nothing. I dont see any hope not to talk of losing one. |

I believe there would be workers working at the wing Yaradua landed. Besides, it was in the night. There would be little or no activity then. |

Deep Soul: Heard that Yar Adua was "smuggled" into the country today. The airport was supposedly shut down for a few hrs and all staff were asked to go home. For all we know, that guy don die. But what's with all d secrecy? How he got out of the plane, no one knows. I wonder who the pilot was. I wonder if he knew what or who was on board. Sooner or later, we will know. |

It is so obvious that Yaradua is not fit. If not, for the Nigerian that he is, he would have stepped out of the plane himself and wave to fellow Nigerians and would have given a speech to re-assure us. So, I ask. What are the so called law makers waiting for again? What evidence do they need again? They are just playing games with the future of Nigeria. |

kelvd4real: Come to think of it, how are we sure Yaradua was actually in the container that arrived yesterday? If my suspicions are right, This power drunk idiots could just stage this return just to put cowardly Jonathan in check. As far as I am concerned, Jonathan has disappointed Nigerians. We are back to square one. Andaouka, Ibori, Turai and the likes are back to power. This is scary!!! Was in the same school of tot. He should have started the impeachment process as soon as he became the ag president. What other prove was he waiting for? Now this. Tell me, how can he handle turai and the kitchen cabinets. No way. They would cont to rule. Always said that he had no power and the only thing that would give him such was an impeachment. Now, we dont know who is ruling. whether Yaradua or his wife but we know it is not Jonathan. He is just gonna be the face of the president. Doing the president's order. |
Politics › Re: Yar'adua Returns To Nigeria: Condition Unknown by MsTom(f): 4:44pm On Feb 24, 2010 |
@Danmasani,
The underlining problem is a North-South issue. The northerners want Yaradua to continue as president whether fit or not cos he is from the north. Would their reaction be different is the VP had been from the north? YES. The southerners want Jonathan to be President cos he is from the south. Only few support cos of the constitution or for the stability of the country. How many northerners did you see or hear who joined the protest against Yaradua?
I agree we need to take a stand but, are we ready for a revolution? Are we ready for the aftermath of our stand?Do we know who the enemies are? Cos in politics of today, people are easily bought over becos of greed. Talk is cheap. Action is very costly |

Politics › Re: Yar'adua Returns To Nigeria: Condition Unknown by MsTom(f): 3:43pm On Feb 24, 2010 |
@obimag, If the reason why Jonathan is acting is cos yaradua is sick, then he has little or no power. He only does what the president tells him to do from whereever he is moreso when he is back to his country. Death or Impeachment of a president would only give the vice full control.
Am sensing a big problem to come. They should have impeached him. Now he is back. those power drunk men are ready to rule whether on life support or not. Afterall, he is in aso rock. Do we even know how his voice sounds? can they allow anyone get close to him to see the back of his ears to see if there are scars. Who came back? Yaradua or his look alike? did he come back on his feet or on a body rap? who saw him? any photo shot of his arrival? did he actually arrive? why the secrecy? Cant wait for these answers o,

It is a bad idea. It was easier b4 but now, due to the height of the terrorist threats on US/Uk, they usually do extensive profiling at the customs. If you are caught overstaying, you would be deported. If in us, you would be banned from re-entry for the next 10yrs. and Believe me, they know where you are. They might just take their time to get to you. Why not get a student visa instead. That way, you get to apply for their work permit. That is a smarter move than applying for visiting for 6months which you are not allowed to work with and moreso, you cant change that visa to any other visa expect you go back home to get the new kind of visa. We all know that at home, you can be denied. Similar thing happened to a friend of mine. He had a visiting visa and wanted to change to student visa. He had to travel back home to get it. At home, he was refused visa. He went several times but was refused. Luckily, he got a good job in nigeria. I wish your friend the best. |

Bholarnle: Its not murder if its still between 1 to 3 month And why is that? The fetus(unborn child) have a heart beat at 6 weeks and brain activity at 6-8weeks. They have motion and the eyes begin to form at this stage. At this stage, the woman is not even aware that she is pregnant. They sure have feelings before the woman is aware that she is pregnant. If you doubt it, ask your gynae the next time you go for your regular check up or simply do research. |

@ Poster, opinions about abortion varies. As for me, I am totally against abortion and would never encourage it. Use preventive measures or give the baby up for adoption. |
