PrideofLincoln1: Their is no National election body in America. Each State certifies their election and that is where the State Supreme Courts comes in. When the case goes beyond the State Supreme Courts, the Federal Courts are the next step before it gets to SCOTUS. PDPGuy will know better about that since that is his line right there. lol @PDP guy |

AmazonTopaz: Stop worrying Biden has many lawyers on standby too. The supreme court has a legacy and legitimacy to protect they will not save Trump. Their legacy is hanging on the balance too they have a lot to protect and will not go down with Trump. Trump will go away the supreme court will not risk anything for him they know that I pray so!. Trump has to go. |

PrideofLincoln1: He cannot go to the Supreme Court like that. There are stages of Federal Courts to go through before SCOTUS. It doesn't work like that in America. He is a President not a King. Federal courts have no role in the determination of who wins the US presidential election.. It is the supreme court of each state under dispute that will handle it, and from there, to SCOTUS. You can check this excerpts: "Ordinarily, a decision by a state’s highest court about how to apply a state law cannot be appealed to a federal court. In such a case, the final decision in an election challenge rests with the state’s supreme court." source: https://theconversation.com/the-case-of-biden-versus-trump-or-how-a-judge-could-decide-the-presidential-election-146367US finds herself in uncharted territory. No one can say precisely how it will play out. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by MT: 10:18pm On Nov 02, 2020 |
PrideofLincoln1: SCOTUS will have nothing to do with this. Trump will lose and go quietly and faces his nemesis in New York where he will be indicted with his mafioso grifter family. I don't trust Trump. I think he will challenge the result and go to SCOTUS. More reason why democrats senators were asking Justice Amy to confirm her recusal in election-related matter. Republicans have lost Justice Robert but they still have huge advantage. I can only hope they will interpret the laws with fairness without any sentiments, if it comes to that |

wirinet: Why else do you thing Trump is packing the courts with Republican judges? He knows he can never win the elections fair and square. He is planing on the Supreme Court making him president as against the votes (electoral or popular ) If SCOTUS politicises their judgement, that might break the US as a nation. America will just implode. I pray not. |

PrideofLincoln1: Lady Gaga will be performing in Pennsylvania with Biden. That will be crazy with those white youths coming out to vote for Biden. The crazy Trump just said his lawyers will be going to court as soon as the voting ends tomorrow. That's a sign of a losing candidate right there. Maybe, trump will run to Umudike and live with his Coons and Cultists in there. He is doing that to lay the groundwork for legal challenge. He wants to claim premature victory and claim that mail-in votes counted after the election day are invalid. He hinges his hopes on the supreme court which he has packed. The fate of America as a nation hangs precariously in the balance. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by MT: 10:02pm On Nov 02, 2020 |
AmazonTopaz: Trump's loss is already as constant as night and day Trump needs ALL the sunbelt states and Midwest states plus Pennsylvania. That will not happen. Texas is under a lot of pressure. Once Texas turns blue, it is game over!. If not, he cant win without Pennsylvania or Michigan. And Biden is so laser focused on those area. The guy will be sacked tommorow definitely, but democrats should not take anything for granted. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by MT: 9:56pm On Nov 02, 2020 |
AmazonTopaz: They wanna appeal again to where?
The supreme court hardly overides a state supreme court. So it will be a wasted effort it does not matter votes will be counted more are voting that way tomorrow.
It is not voter suppression it is voter theft.
It is illlegal They are planning to head to court of appeal. Supreme court will not entertain such suit. Let me be clear, Trump is losing tomorrow. His path to victory is so narrow. Extremely narrow. |

Just tell me what he has done that will give me sleepless nights for supporting him You asked for one reason and I will be glad to state it. Obama didn't defund WHO in the midst of pandemic. He listened to science and saved lives. Trump didn't and thousands of lives were lost. We will continue to have this conversation in as much as it is civil and not insulting. Thanks |

benalvino2: The momentum is with trump. He is gonna win bigger than he did in 2016. What will be interesting is the candidates for 2024. The Republicans need to prop up a black candidate that will be outspoken with similar policies like trump and he should show strong relationship with trump from now till 2024. The dems won't stand a chance Please I want to ask. How do you go to bed at night to sleep knowing you are supporting Trump? No insult meant, just asking |

CACOVID or what do they call them should not bother to twist the narrative. We have seen in full glare how our politicians behave irresponsibly. Almost all the people saddled with power have betrayed their oaths of offices. The palliatives were needed when the country was shut down. People have moved on.
In a country with no credible data, how did you arrive at figures for households in a state. EFCC need to visit CACOVID and their spendings, then come over to each state to see if criminal intentions can be established. |

isaacola57: what's ur proof that there was no massacre, Lagos State government said that soldiers went to the scene, gunshots were fired.. they turned off the lights.. why are we gullible.. imagine the same government is conducting investigation is that not conflict of interest, an independent body should investigate.. The whole thing looks like a cover up to me.. they are all saying different things soldiers, Lagos government.. open ur eyes man Let me educate you, turning off light was not a sign of massacre . Most military operations are conducted in the dark. You asked for proof, I will tell you. 1. Not a single corpse was presented as an evidence. 2. We saw people who got injured. Normal stuffs in a stampede. 3. No mainstream or international news media referred to a massacre. Few ones that stated such in their tweets took the tweets down when facts were emerging. 4. You claimed soldiers took away the corpses, did they also wash volume of blood that was meant to be there if people were massacred. Don't give a dog a bad name in order to hang it . You are working on a conspiracy theory. You seem to love the sound of the word "massacre" but "stampede" also sounds sweeter. You can't be politically correct all the time. If nairaland was a court, the weight of proof hangs heavily on your neck. You claim there was a massacre, oya, submit your empirical proof. |

And lastly it will not be better for whoever is in charge for the distribution of the palliatives to the masses.
In the US, all citizens were given $1000 for staying at home.
Now your struggle continues (NYSC) is the slogan here Oyo chopped her own alone. He didn't bother to buy any palliatives, he chopped the cash alone, I think. So brother, On Your Own (OYO). Lol |

lexy2014: How didn't he tolerate it? How come all d Carnage that has been going on in d country? No government will want civil disorder. Youths were peacefully protesting till some people who had axe to grind with government intervened. They sponsored thugs to infiltrate the protest and turned it to chaos. Many police stations were attacked with service rifles stolen. Now Buhari has spoken, don't count numbers of his words, focus on the serious intent of his message , which is, it's not business as usual. |
