BusinessRe: Dansugar Certificate Verification by MT: 2:27am On Sep 17, 2007
I had a similar problem sometimes. What you need to do is to get your brother to sign that transfer form for you.He will sign it the way he signed when he was buying it for you. I hope he remembers anyway. Alternatively, you have to go with your banker confirmation of signature and swear an affidavit also. Then, go and and re-submit . This is trickish , some registrars will accept while some don't, but I feel there are people here that can come up with more brilliant idea.

PoliticsRe: Do You Believe In Alam's Excuses? by MT: 1:58am On Sep 07, 2007
I detest pple that live on rumours rather than facts.

And it's quite disheartening how some people could be whipping up defence for someone like ALAMS.

Moreso, it's so sad that people can rubbish what Obasanjo did for the country. He's a human being ,he flourished in some dept while he failed in some. Some pple write as if this man has never done anything positive for Nigeria.

What a generation ! What a country! What a thought!
PoliticsWhat Do You Think Of The Agf (aondokaa)? by MT(op): 1:34am On Sep 07, 2007
The Attorney-General of the federation has played some vital but controversial roles of late :

1. His role in the "suspension" of the re-denomination of the naira

2. His claim that EFCC and other anti-graft agencies be reporting to his office before they start any prosecution of any individual

3. His recent sack of the EFCC lawyers after claiming that he (the EFCC lawyer) stopped the DPP from intervening in Kalu's trial

What's your take on the AGF ?. and do u think he is over bearing ?

Let's discuss please
PoliticsRe: Naira To Be Re-Denominated by MT: 12:56am On Aug 15, 2007
That may be so, but I learnt that he was initially opposed to the plan,
but for some reason decided to change his mind.  Perhaps he was forced
to accept the plan?  Perhaps he's bored and needs a new pointless project?
@seun

I have read so many of your piece telling people to state the source of their information. Will you tread the path of honour and let's know where you got this information from as well.? He who makes the law is not expected to violate it. Rumours destroy.

Dont get me wrong, I'm just trying to call your attention to this fact wink
PoliticsRe: Naira To Be Re-Denominated by MT: 12:36am On Aug 15, 2007
I'm always amazed at the position of some people shooting down ideas before it starts. Some people believe that nothing good can come out of a policy formulated by a Nigerian.

I guess we need to correct this mentality. Soludo knows what he's contending against, the international communities, and I believe he's not a rookie in this area he is navigating. The guy is brilliant , and you should know that he must have raised some of the "fears" being raised on this forum with his team. I remember when he was talking about capitalization of the banks, a lot of people on this forum shot down the idea and gave it no chance. If that area is not 100% perfect now, at least we could still score him more than 80% now. There's a surge in the belief we have in our banks these days.

While I will not say we shouldnt raise our "fears", we should try as much as possible to take a more optimistic stand and strongly hope it's going to bring out the desired result. This guy and his teams are not fools as some think, and I strongly consider this present action as a step in the right direction!. He must have his logistics to make it work and you should also remember that he's putting his integrity and career on the line here for the betterment of Nigeria.

He deserves to be encouraged!

@azoriju

Point of correction. If you are earning 30,000 naira it will amoount to 30,000/100 = 300 naira come 1st august, 2008. Check the calculation please

@naijaway

How many pple do u think can earn that big sum, N20,000/month come 1st August,2008. Note that N 20,000 /month then is tantamount to someone earing 2 million naira /month now wink

@debosky

I will appreciate it if we don't ruin this thread by using insultive and vulgar languages. We are here to exchange idea and learn, so the way u view something might not be the way I  see it. So, using words like "you have little understanding" was way above it.

Educative comments and Intelligent discussion are needed here.

Thank you

@yidokun

Nigeria is going back to the 1970s. Most things will be sold in kobo (eg bread, milk etc), and most nigerians wont be travelling in their hundreds abroad again. We only hope that our production level will increase with time, but I guess this is a right step in the right direction. wink
BusinessBreaking News: N100 To Become N1 By August 1, 2008 by MT(op): 4:59pm On Aug 14, 2007
Soludo has just confirmed that starting from August 1, 2008,  One hundred naira nigerian currency will become one naira Nigerian currency.

This will make the naira to appreciate against the international currencies a great deal. For example, if you have 1,000,000 naira now in a nigerian bank , this will mean 10,000 naira starting from August 1, 2008. A naira will be exchanged for £2.50 (against pounds sterling)  and $1.27 (against dollars)(if the present day exchange rate is maintained on 1st August, 2008). This also means that someone collecting 200,000 naira as a month salary will be collecting 2,000 naira.

What are the implications of this for the economy ?. I guess it's a good development but I stand to be corrected.

Educative and intelligent comments are welcome please

RomanceRe: Who Do You Prefer - Foreign Or Naija Lady? by MT: 2:08pm On Aug 06, 2007
Many men do it cos of the "paper thingy abroad. As far as I'm concerned, we have prettier percentage of african ladies than the white. Prejudice apart, despite their temperate weather and all the creams, they cant still match the african beauty.

So, many guys are getting involved with white largely against their wish, though there are very little few that do it genuinely

EducationRe: To School And Work In Sweden:tuition Free! by MT: 12:07am On Aug 04, 2007
@ ALL

While it is true that the tuition fee is free, you still need to know that you have a lot to convince the consular at the swedish embassy. Yu have to prove that you are able to maintain yourself without recourse to public funds. If you can successfully scale through that hurdle, then get ready for the cold!. All da best

@ all,

If I fill my CSC number in any of the IPO or PO form, will I still get the paper certificate ?.

If I wont get the paper certificate, will there still be a delay in creditting my CSC account with the number of units bought ?.

I asked these questions because I was trying to figure out how one could beat the trap of delay in getting the certiicate and I then thought that CSC account should be able to handle that.

Please enlighten me

Register for internet banking there
BusinessRe: ATMs: Automated Thieving Machines? by MT: 12:58pm On Jul 25, 2007
@bani

I will like you to check the statement of your account up either on the internet or you request for the paper one. Then look for date when the transaction happened. Check if your account was debitted, without being creddited correspondingly.

This ATM out-of-service syndrome has happened to me before but anytime it happened, I would just go to the nearest Cafe to check my statement online, and lo and behold the credit would have cancelled out the debit.

I hope this helps
