The US and the UK can strike the Houthis in Yemen at any moment. Sunak, UK PM, has already briefed his cabinet and moved military assets to the red sea. The EU are considering sending military assets too. The US has promised to counter the Houthis, and already deployed lot of her naval destroyers to the red sea. However, the Houthis remains defiant and promise to attack both the US and the UK https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-us-canada-67952029 https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/1/11/any-us-attack-on-yemens-houthis-will-not-go-without |
Iran and the Houthis are flirting with fire. Both are on the radar of the United States. I fear for the middle east as a whole. |
benalvino3:Read part of the closing argument, may be it will help. Trump defrauded the state of New York, and his legal team kept on blaming Estate Valuer, the accountants etc , except Trump himself. Trump would be heavlily fined with the losses of his properties in New York, including the Trump Tower. Even Trump legal team did not deny any of the discrepancies, and I repeat, under the New York law that Trump was charged, the banks do not need to complain of being defrauded before the Attorney General wields the big stick!. She came prepared with facts and Trump knew it was a game over. Law does not deal with emotions but FACTS!. Read on "Kevin Wallace is beginning the closing arguments for the New York attorney general's office in the $370 million civil fraud case. "It’s obviously a great sense of de ja vu for all of us," Wallace began. "And we’re back to hearing the same arguments from the defendants." Wallace said that the defendants have not been able to dispute any of the facts that Trump submitted false financial statements. "The statements of financial condition were false, every year of issue, 2011 to 2021," Wallace said, saying the discrepancies were as much as $2.2 billion". |
TruthsFM:For spending his personal money ? What we should be asking is how much each of the supposedly new vehicle costs. But this is NIGERIA |
benalvino3:The bank didnt say he did nothing wrong. Trump was the one that said the banks never complained. He over valued his property in order to get low interest loan. Under the New York law Trump was charged, the prosecution did not need to prove that the banks were financially hurt. The judge had repeated this line several times if you were following the proceeding. |
Lifemanage:Do you have that thing called "brain cell" at all. Your life only revolves around PDP and APC ? This is 2024 - get sense |
NSNO:As bad as our continent is regarded, Trump can NEVER be allowed for a second time. Someone that assaulted the seat of power!. He has caused a lot of constitutional crisis in the US that both the Supreme Court and other lower courts are tired. Trump has exploited ALL the loopholes in the US constitution which no one has ever dared to touch. If he becomes the next president of the United States, there is high likelihood of civil war within the US with the attendant spiral effect to the world. I hope and pray that America does not play into the hands of their enemies by voting Trump as the next president. |
Nigerians just do "eye" service. They want to pretend so that their pastors and imams can see them dedicated to the church and mosques but terrible with their neighbours. The moment you introduce yourself as "Pastor George or Imam Waheed", I can never do business with you. All pretense. |
Benbisco:Thank you. Don't be surprised if each outfit costs 10million naira. This is Nigeria - the more you look , the less you see! |
emmaodet:Do you blame them? Even those that are being oppressed do not know they are being oppressed. When they see the so-called Royals in a function, they will be hailing them. Hailing individuals that have perfected the art to destroy their destinies. |
This life is rigged. Some set of people will fraudulently call themselves royals, stealing commonwealth, while the other group of people will be at their mercies. It is fraud. |
firearcher:Ethic in this regard is the "Code of conduct law" |
This is the one that police will go on auto pilot for. Portable is threatening to shoot someone in a video, nothing happens. |
aybabz101:It is because our standard is too low as a nation. Automating the passport process is not such a big deal. A process that has been implemented somewhere should not be a rocket science to replicate but because we have been exposed to a lot of maladministration, it seems he has done the unthinkable. Please, note, I applaud his achievements but we are taking it to a level far beyond. |
Flier:Are we to turn blind eyes when the so called "good man" committed an infraction ? Everyone should be held to the same standard. Tunji messed up big time and he could not feign ignorance of his conduct. He is not the only "good man" that ever come out of Nigeria politics. A supposedly good man that appears saintly but soiling his hands to the tune of several millions of naira. For your Information, I am a Yoruba and dire supporter of Tinubu but when Tinubu messes up, I give him a knock. I do not support anyone blindy. |
Nice123:Well put. That is why law needs to treat everyone equally irrespective of status. Even, madam Justice has removed the blindfold in Nigeria, she is now offering selective justice. |
showwiggy:You know more than the US watchdog that found Trump culpable of 3400 conflict of interest. Typical Nigerian, always arguing with the fact in front of their noses. |
dinkyicon:Stop making irrelevant references. Your Donald Trump committed 3400 conflict of interest, as a sitting President and they were well documented by the watch dog (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/andrewsolender/2020/09/24/watchdog-report-cites-3400-conflicts-of-interest-during-trump-presidency/amp/) Is ethic alien to Nigerians? Why you guys don't seem to understand that ethical standard was broken here was beyond me |
Obi, the motivational speaker has come again. |
firearcher:He breaks the ETHICAL law. |
Haaland21:He quoted the section of the law that suits him. He knows he has violated one of the ethic of his position as a serving minister. He will be shown when the time comes. |
Tareq1105:No. The company shouldn't have bidded for a contract where one of his shareholders is a serving MINISTER. It is called a conflict of interest. That is the global standard you will be held to. Ethics should be taught as a course in our universities. |
seunmsg:Do.you understand what "ethic" is all about? You don't know every position comes with ethical standards? |
Gandrova:You guys don't get it. As a Minister, he is in a serious position of influence in the government and also his position within the company as a shareholder makes him a DIRECT beneficiary of the profit made through any contract. No where in the world is this allowed, even if you are top performer. This is a conflict of interest which makes him highly culpable. |
chisomkachy:What an audacity to narrow the question we should be asking? This is a classical case of conflict of interest. He couldn't feign ignorance of not knowing or influencing the contract. As a shareholder, he will be a direct beneficiary of any profit made via the contract. If we want Nigeria to be great, we need to raise the bar for these public servants. The contract has the fingerprints of this dude all over it. He is culpable |
iwaeda:How can a country with almost non existent, robust data attempts to share palliatives? Why are we like this as a Nation? How will the govt know the precise numbers and locations of citizens that are qualified? The Federal Govt intentionally opens the door to fraud and corruption. |
Which stations will show these matches as DSTV fails to get the right ?. |
I am not sure if we have really "evolved" as a democratic nation over 24 years. If anything, our politicians have simply perfected the art of corruption. |
coputa:Have you been to the UK or you just read about it on the internet? Most of their citizens spend time in the pub or club rather than church. King Charles is a king and needs to perform his symbolic role. Does that mean majority of the entire citizens attend churches. While you were all in churches in Nigeria in the midnight of december 2023, they were watching fireworks, and still their economy will outperform that of your "prayerful" nation. |
Iamanoited:But they hardly pray abroad, and yes Nigerians flee in their millions to this same supposedly "prayerless" countries. So can you explain why prayerless western countries especially (e.g. UK), are better than a prayerful country like Nigeria, with churches and mosque in every corner that you turn? |
Who asked NNPCL to donate our scarce resources on this? The person in NNPCL who actioned such ought to be sanctioned. It's needless and a waste. We need to get more serious in this country. We play too much. |
