ipobbigot7:The only place on the web where sh1t "news" about Kenya exists is on nairaland. What does that tell you? And do you know what the knee jerk image the average kenyan has of nigeria/nigerians? |
Blueberrie:are you a kenyan? |
EmekaBlue:What does that make you? Hint:its a word that begins with P |
ipobbigot7:what would happen to you when good "news" begins to emanate from Kenya? Will you be able to handle it? |
The Americans really don't get it, do they. Military escalation against the Russians, coz that's what this is. And i thought the cold war was dead. Wrong. Russia will certainly counter this and with p*ssy grabber in office, i see a major military confrontation in the near future, he's on record as having talked about 3rd world war. Call me a fake news artist if you want, but there alot of people on both sides who'd just love to settle old scores and alot of them are decision makers. Lord help us! |
cloudyskygrind:You must have sired him. |
Muafrika2:Hehehehe p*ssy grabber has to be on notice!! |
bantudra:We are fighting this menace, whose main suppliers come from you know where. Please, get high on your own supply. |
Part of the problem of California statewide water system is the obsession with dams. You would think the beaver god was from there. They have abstracted so much groundwater the ground strata are permanently unstable. Some speculate that some earthquakes around the famous San Andreas fault are worsened or amplified by the lowering of the water table. The whole thinking around water went wrong when the assumption was made that damming was a solution. Nobody thought about systems to allow infiltration by rainfall into underground water systems. This system is one of the worst water management systems anywhere in the world, but don't say that to the mighty TSA. |
morpheus24:Not true, folks in Kenya are at the end of their tether when it comes to the subject of your countrymen and their illegal activities and things are pretty much at a tipping point. |
darknetcom:So collapse is now a euphemism for a robust democracy? Nigerians and diction, a story for another day. Seriously, i have followed Malema and his EFF from the start, and i will go out and say i just love their parliamentary outfits. Very pro poor people, he makes it very clear which segment of South Africa society he represents. My take is that Malema was always waiting to happen, 1994 and before/after notwithstanding. Malema is like a shrewd businessman who sees a niche and fills it. And filled it he has, he's got a near monopoly on it. What political niche are we referring to? Since the end of official apartheid, many black and brown south africans have been yearning for real tangible progress in their own material well being as well as land. Yes, land. The ANC has vacillated at best or fumbled at worst on this issue. Two decades on and nothing seems to be moving. People don't eat communiques and policy papers, people eat pap and morogo. Most of the land and other factors of production are still in the hands of the minority who benefited and perpetrated apartheid. Poignant. Defining. Glaring. The Sarafina generation in power seems clueless about how to achieve genuine black economic emancipation. Enter Julius Malema. In a steady eating into of the ANC's political base and ideology , he has masterminded a political Leicester. Or nearly one. It's hard to dismiss him. What he and EFF stand for really counts. Land, economic empowerment, workers rights. All seem to have undergone stasis since the advent of ANC to power in 1994. And when challenged on his stances he only has to point north of the Limpopo for his defense. Admittedly, his subtle backers have called him a paper tiger and a false revolutionary, but he's still useful to them. Malema gives political voice to the most heated political discussions that black south africans have in their living rooms or on the stoep. That's relevance. Ladies and gentlemen, I think we ignore Malema and his red overall donning buddies at our own peril. |
bantudra:Please come to Nairobi and Mombasa and take away your bad eggs. They have infested our land. Pthoii! We don't have a drug consumption or dealing culture here. We are tired ooo! Population nko population ni, how have you leveraged it for the common good. Please don't get me started! |
SIRcumalot:he has apparently forsaken his parents. |
Am a die hard Manchester United fan and if there's one player from Spurs who gives me the chills, it's Bamidele Alli. This boy is just a wonder waiting to happen, i insist he's going to be an English Thierry Henry. Super player. I can see he grew up surrounded by lots of money and privileges. But such kids also suffer from alot of emotional neglect by their obviously guilty parents. There's more to raising a child than material provisions and the like. What of his emotional needs. I suspect that both were far from perfect, they better own up. And to Alli, please it can't go on forever, this anger in your chest. Ask a trusted person known to both you and your parents to start a conversation and take it slowly from there. If you don't take care of these family problems, they can destroy you and your career. Just ask Thierry Henry and Emmanuel Adebayor. |
Muafrika2:unfortunately no. He was an African American Jew from the 19th century who died in Ethiopia. This useless troll trying to be relevant thinks he's a jew. Smdh |
Olu317:All of ancient Axum and all the Muslim kingdoms of NE Africa (with the exception of the Somali and Afar ones are all in modern day Ethiopia. So, yes. Unlike you lot, Ethiopians value their "ethiopianess" more than their religions, you would be hard pressed to find widespread religious xtian Muslim violence which seems to be the standard fare in Nigeria. You sir, have ALOT to learn. |
Just30:my sentiments exactly. It's useful, however, where it's spoken, but still can't qualify as one. |
Olu317:What a load of bull!! FYI Ethiopia was the first nation on earth after the Roman Empire to declare Christianity as its official religion. Menelik I, google him and learn more. Yorubaland and Ethiopia have no longstanding historical links, where did you get the fallacious claim about them revealing the falashas! And then i thought i had seen and heard it all! That's real history for you there and please don't troll this thread any further, Jeezuz! |
Olu317:Do they teach you guys sarcasm 101 in the syllabus? From what grade? |
Olu317:This is too embarrassing for me to engage in i.e try and exchange words. with you.. somebody's got to do it anyway. Let this argument rest by saying this : pidgin and other creolized languages are very useful tongues which should be used in communication but cannot be the mates of developed and recognized ones. When pidgin secedes from English as Afrikaans did from Dutch /French /German , we might have something to discuss. Until then it remains confined to its west African homeland and is not a recognized language with its own code. We in East Africa have our own "pidgin " and its called Kiswahili(Swahili is an adjective ), a recognized language . Also, we shouldn't do things in a bandwagon mindset, rather we do them because its convenient or moral to do so. |
Olu317:Yorubas are africans. It stands to reason that the language they speak is an African one. Is it a Polynesian language? |
Olu317:Alternative facts, strawman arguments / foul language / condescension..... that's you in a nutshell. Ps. The first African Bishop was not a Nigerian. Ethiopia has a history of more than 1700 years of Christianity and a longer one of Judaism before that, so therefore there have been plenty of Ethiopian (as well as other mostly orthodox Christian Bishops in North Africa such as Egypt, meroe, Maghreb ) bishops. And get out of the fallacy that knowledge only emanates from the west. Slave! |
Ugosample:I must be the kenyan mugu/dimwit you must be referring to. Reporting for duty sir! Afrikaans is a west Germanic language whose closest cousin is Dutch. Most Dutch people i know have very amusing things to say about it, and all of them can't get it at all. One can get an advanced degree in a South African uni using Afrikaans as tge Olu317: Ugosample:I must be the kenyan mugu/dimwit you must be referring to. Reporting for duty sir! Afrikaans is a west Germanic language whose closest cousin is Dutch. Most Dutch people i know have very amusing things to say about it, and all of them can't get it at all. They think it's like some medieval tongue with frightening similarities to theirs, and whose speakers have names like theirs. One can get an advanced degree in a South African uni using Afrikaans as the medium of instruction. It's got a very large corpus of published works and in all media formats. It's one of the 11 official language of South Africa . We also happen to know how black south africans feel about it esp considering its association with apartheid, but that's not the point here. The point is that it's a developed language. As is our "backwater " kiswahili. Pidgin is not it's mate, it's just common speech in your side of Africa. |
Paula Radcliffe is from the UK. You're right about no. 17 , they're very gifted tribe in distance running. Remember that there are also good distance runners from other ethnicities as well, Kenyan and non kenyan most notably oromos from Ethiopia who give us a hard time on the track. |
Most kenyans can understand other africans when they speak English. Even francophones and lusophones who speak English are well understood. We are completely lost however when Nigerians switch to pidgin and its strange vocabulary and syntax. I can't get the gist of the discussion when y'all switch to pidgin. Nothing at all. As for accents, Zambians/ Zimbabweans take my fancy, i just get entertained listening to them speak, very melodious. |
Just30:2 million Nigerians in Ghana!!? |
A grand ruse, my naija peoples. They want the following
1. A legal standing for the occupation on saharawi lands.
2. Markets for their goods.
3. Markets for their BS
4. Markets .......,well for everything they produce. |
ettabrown333:Little lady, you look just like my niece. I mean really! Seriously, have you tried www. africanancestry. com. It's a great resource for African Americans trying to discover their DNA roots. And you guys are a blend of everyone and everywhere. When you take the test, as i strongly suggest you should, don't take the results as iron clad proof of your identity. Its just a scientific test prone to error. Accurate in most cases, but not 100% foolproof. The most important identity is what you say you are. As to your question, you look like very many tribes in Africa. I have seen your face in many African countries. |
What a poorly written article. Mostly the writers biased opinion and little or no facts. Can he give us a foolproof discussion on crime with stats he can back up. |
Living the life their ancestors did on those damned slave ships. Only this time their captors are a failed system. |
There are many many many many many good, honest hardworking, God fearing Nigerians pursuing their professional callings or other very legitimate enterprise in South Africa. Take note. Am very sure they are mentioning the criminal classes from Nigeria, who are legion across the globe. Very important distinction. What are Nigerians at home doing to stop these elements leaving the country to go and besmirch the name of their country? That is the question. |
South Africa pays it's vulnerable citizens a monthly grant. Social welfare that other African countries can only dream of. South Africa has no mates in SSA. @LeSuidAfricaine, what are ordinary south africans saying about the budget. |
