The Bible has changed in form, but not in message.

Think of Things Fall Apart written by Chinua Achebe.

It comes in different languages and even titles. In some translations, it is simply titled "Okonkwo".

The translators may use word-for-word type of translation to make the translation look as close to the original as possible, and they may use thought-for-thought.

Whatever translation they use (even if it is paraphrased), the original message in "Things Fall Apart" will still be authentic.

It is the same with the Bible, and its many versions.

The versions are more than translation differences. Apart from many textual differences, the catholic bible has 73 books while the protestant bible has 66. Are the extra 7 books word of god? This means you can pick and choose what to include in your own version of the bible. You have different bibles- orthodox Christians have their own, Catholics too, JW, mormons etc all have.
