tomquest:The comment is just to highlight the fact that some security features in phones that work efficiently in technologically advanced countries aren't very useful here. The points I stated are obvious facts which everyone knows. We are all here hopefully to educate ourselves. Phones are easy preys for criminals in this country and, since virtually everyone has one, it is worthwhile to educate ourselves on the antics of phone thieves. For example, some people do not know that a phone can be snatched off your hand while calling even in a busy place. Useful knowledge like this is good for everyone . You can lose your phone while stuck in traffic - recently a colleague's phone was removed from his breast pocket in broad daylight when he was caught up in a traffic jam. The thief just stretched his hand into the car and that was it. The idiot ran off and of course you don't expect a person to abandon his car to go and chase a thief - he may lose the car as well. |
jackyraw09:Not that i'm supporting the criminal.Just pointing out the challenges op will face in trying to recover the phone. |
The camera lens can be blocked rendering the security useless. This guy is a learner otherwise he would have done that.Even locating the phone by gps can be of no consequence in nigeria since the police may not be helpful in recovering it unless you are a "big man". Again, pray that your phone has not been dismantled in readiness to selling the parts piecemeal. Op just take it that your phone is gone for good - well, you may be lucky sha. |
And when is saraki writing to the customers of the defunct societe general bank which he and his siblings grounded through their devilish thievery. |
This is this week's episode of the unending scandals by pastors. Enjoy! |
Go to any Total Petrol Station and ask for Awango solar lamp with charger. I bought mine about 3 years ago at 6.5k .On full charge it gives you 42 hours of continuous light. It comes with a small but reliable solar panel and Usb cord for charging phone. It is marketed exclusively by Total across Africa. |
tolexy007:You again? But you guessed wrongly. Pls try the name again or ask one of the charlatans who abound in your area to prophesy it for you. |
One can save to any amount if s/he wishes. I heard of a couple of civil servants who have saved millions with their "co-operative" as personal life savings with just something like 10k every month (some people do this up to retirement i.e 35 years). Not everyone is a thief, mr self-righteous senator. As for Buratai, i am not holding a brief for him but if i had the opportunmity he's had to serve in UN peace-keeping missions for years and i'm paid tens of thousands of dollars like he was paid as a general in addition to his naira salary still paid, believe me i would have saved and invested more in lucrative Dubai property than the paltry 120 million naira he did. Mind you, UN mission is a gold mine for any soldier, even other ranks, lucky to have had the chance to serve like Buratai did. My point is, the mere fact of Buratai owning a "cheap" property in Dubai doesnt mean he's stolen public money- his accusers must link him to specific act of corruption. |
Frank talk. Undiluted fact op has presented in excellent prose. I have said it before that even with the boko haram menace Maiduguri is safer than port Harcourt. How? Simple: In Maiduguri and most parts of NE the people themselves are responsible for their own security. By contrast, in Ph and ss region in general robbers, kidnappers, murderous cultists, godless ritualists and other vicious criminals are having a field day. And there is no end in sight to this return to a bruttiish state of nature as the political leaders of ss are themselves self- serving thugs and thieves . |
A good precaution is to avoid the atm early morning (before 6.30) or late evening because the hoodlums are known to operate then. If you fall a victim, however, by having your card snatched just contact your bank's customer care as soon as possible. For Uba If you contact them via Facebook they respond almost immediately 24/7. |
The referendum you need most is about how to end kidnappings, cultism, ritual killings, armed robberies and other criminality so that SE will be a livable place for you guys. You are your own enemies. |
Politicians are over-blowing the issue of so- called ghost workers to cover up their own thievery and lacklustre performance. When allocation from federation account was good, there were no ghost workers but now that the allocation is down they are all mouthing ghost workers. A few fictitious names may have been inserted in the payroll by a few people in the accounts dept, but mischievous as always politicians give the impression as if every civil servant is guilty. Believe these billions they're mentioning at your own stupidity. The bulk of public money is stolen by politicians and their cronies through outrageous inflation of contracts and bogus allowances. |
What's her compaint? Afterall the wires are under the seat and reasonably insulated. |
rigarmortis:You got it wrong. Soldiers lucky to participate in UN operations are paid handsomely in dollars. I don't know how much Buratai earned from participating in operations like this but I know he had the opportunity of serving in such operations for many years. I also know of a sergeant who served in Sudan and on his return built a fine house in a state capital all from the generous dollar allowance he earned from the peace keeping operation. As a general Buratai was certainly paid tens of thousands of dollars( millions of naira ). Since he has declared his Dubai property as required by law it is left to his accusers to link him with specific act of stealing public money rather than just insinuating that by owning property in Dubai he is automatically quilty. |
Islamic state of Dubai helping Lagos. And nobody is saying islamization! Islamaphobes say something. |
Ss is a dangerous place even for the indigenes. |
The way Ben Murray-Bruce was desperate to grab a political office, from his failed governorship bid to successful Senate seat, I suspected there was something amiss with his finances and he was looking for easy money. Btw, can Osun state workers "reciprocate" murry-bruce's gesture by donating just 1% of their salary to his failed business since he once offered to donate a percentage of his salary to them? |
Kudos to Lagos govt. One good thing about Lagos is that they make laws and ENFORCE them. Most state govts across the country cannot muster the political will to enforce the law against noise-making centres aka places of worship. |
VictorRomanov:Rather admit the statement of fact than engage in futile name guessing, something that should be a pastime of brats, or are you one? |
Bollinger:I said it before that even Maiduguri is safer than Ph and most parts of ss, where terrorists, armed robbers and cultists are virtually in full control. In Maiduguri and other parts of the north east the people themselves have largely taken control of their own security, but the opposite is the case in the ss. If you don't have anything serious to do there just keep away from that satanic hole called ss. Even if you are there for a good purpose leave as soon as you can because things aren't going to change there any soon with the political leaders there being lawless thugs and killers themselves. |
Whenever I hear the name Saraki I always remember the story I heard when societe general bank collapsed. This struggling taxi driver was saving the earnings from his business at the bank. He was doing "daily contribution " in the sense that he goes to deposit some amount daily in his account. This continued for years and he had a substantial amount as his life saving. Then the Sarakis, led by Bukola the current Senate president, ran the bank aground by massive looting of depositors' money. The taxi driver may have later died of hypertension. If you knew the atrocities Bukola Saraki commited as executive director in the bank and worse still as kwara state governor, you won't mind him being locked away for good. |
These yoruba women are just disgracing themselves. Mod if you push this kind of rubbish to fp again, you should be dealt with appropriately. |
Call him rascal, but the guy is unperturbed; he just keep on forging ahead in the service of his people. Kudos ogbeni Rauf for this nice gesture. A good leader is celebrated for the positive impact he makes on the lives of his people. |
TyrantInAsoRock:How is somebody wearing a particular uniform "foisting Islam" on you, when you are not compelled to wear the uniform? Don't allow yourself to be brainwashed. |
Ambode is trying to Islamize Lagos. How can he invite an Islamic country to come and develop Lagos? CAN please speak out now. All the hypocrites and islamaphobes oya let's hear you. |
amtaken:The others have not been declared innocent. One by one the noose will tighten and you will see many high profile criminal prosecution. Men, Pmb means business with these crooks. |
AlPeter:The difference between osun and Lagos is that in osun there is a court ruling upholding the new set of uniform. The governor deserves commendation for upholding the rule of law. However, lawless people hiding under the cover of religion are instigating some students to breach the law. What right have these trouble makers to say some students should not wear the uniform approved by the authorities? If anybody want approval for a particular design of uniform, they should submit it for consideration. But they cannot intimidate others hiding under the cover of religion - nobody has monopoly over violence. |
ikbnice:Mr Doubter post video evidence of you typing your post or you didnt type it. Are you ok now? |
babadee1:They mumus blame everything on northerners even when their own people are the culprits like the pocketing of 13% derivation by just a few people, causing mass destitution. |
amtaken:Hahaha, forget ozekhome. The guy himself knows he is turning the law upside down. He has to anyway, to place himself in a position to grab the brief from Fayose. The brief would probably fetch him nothing less than 100 million naira. Btw, get it clear: the supreme court has settled the issue - a governor may be investigated over a criminal allegation but cannot be prosecuted while in office. The freezing of fayose'a account is part of a criminal investigation to gather the evidence to prosecute him when he leaves office. The evidence being used against Saraki now at cct was partly gathered when the crook was in office as governor looting with reckless. abandon. |
This issue is being messed up by people taking extreme positions. Osun state govt set out to approve two designs of uniforms for schools. Ordinarily this shouldn't cause any uproar. Northern states have this policy. But in the case of osun mischief has taken over and misguided individuals have labelled one design Islamic and so must be opposed. Now, some Muslims are saying it is their fundamental right to wear the same design. You see what I call extremism by the opposing groups. This labelling should cease - two designs of school uniforms; you pick the design you like. Shikena! |
Is it because they are Jews that you guys have descended so heavily on them. Ok, supposing they port to their ancestral home of isreal in protest, who is shamed? Pls, pls let the Jews be. |
