I think if any Igbo thinks this is a lie, then he/she should reasonably show that - prove him wrong. And, if it persists, the Igbo community should sue him. But, niether can be done. Wait and see. |
This is unblievable, but true. It's, however, to all, not surprising if the killers were Boko Haram guys, for they have done worst. I can't understand what's happening in this country any more. May God intervene, amin. |
Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State has stated that the 13 Igbo businessmen gunned down by unidentified killers recently in the commercial town of Mubi, in the state were killed as a result of business conflict. This is contrary to media reports that they were killed by the deadly Islamic sect, Boko Haram. The governor said government was still awaiting detailed report from security operatives before releasing the corpses of the 13 Igbo to their families for burial, adding that he stood on his ground as regards N25, 000,000 reward promised any person or group with credible information that would lead to the arrest of the criminals behind the killings. The governor who spoke through his Press Secretary, Malam Maijama’a Adamu, in a press statement made available to Sunday Mirror said that immediate assumption of government and people generally in the state was that, the barbaric incident which was unprecedented in the history of the state was ethno- religious in nature, which he said led the government to take a proactive measure, by beefing up security across the state to prevent further escalation of the crisis. According to the governor, “Contrary to our initial assumption, however, preliminary investigations revealed that the unfortunate incident was not ethno-religious in nature, but likely due to personal or business conflict. This is highly regrettable and unacceptable, he claimed. The statement, however, said that the people of Adamawa State condemned in strong terms, “this act of inhumanity has portrayed the state in bad light and affected it socially and economically at both national and international levels, adding that Adamawa State should not be used as a theatre for such heinous crimes. According to the statement, “while regretting the occurrence of this incident, we wish to state categorically that no Adamawa State community is involved in it, and it was neither ethnic nor religious as previously assumed. However, the statement did not talk on 12 worshippers of Christ Apostle Church who were gunned down by unidentified gunmen; neither did it speak on four bomb explosions reported by the state’s Police Command at the Christmas period. Effort by our reporter to speak to the victims’ families or Igbo leaders in the state was fruitless, as none of them was ready to comment on the issue, which they feared might http://nationalmirroronline.net/news/29610.html |
Boko Halal? May Allah have mercy on the lost souls and give their families the fortitude to bear the lost. May He punish the killers, amin. |
Definitely against! BTW, what is that Beaf of a character is saying? |
Allah ya isa! May God break the neck of GEJ and the so-called cabal--whoever those are. May He inflict more pain on you and your generations to come. |
9ja voice: umechuma:There're more Igbos in Kano than all the Northerners combined living in the South. Ask any of them whether they are living peacefully @ the moment or not. Be cautious. Some of you don't think outside the box, hence stu.pid comments like above. May God restore peace in Nigeria, amin. |
stiyke:Thanks. Nothing like this will happen, God willing. |
Unconfirmed reports that are becoming viral here in Kano say that there have been attacks on mosques and on Muslims in Enugu. Is this true or not? Please let's save lives. May the Almighty God restore peace in Nigeria, amin. Thanks |
Blatant lie! May God break the neck of liers. We can as well claim that all the protesters shot dead yesterday here in Kano by the police were shot by Southern Christian members of police. Pls be reasonable when next you want to post. |
Any reasonable minded person could think as such. There're actually many masked people carrying their henious acts under the umbrella of BK; but God Willing the truth will epitomize sooner or later. May God save Nigeria, amin. |
May Allah have mercy on the lost souls, and may He punish the killers. May He as well assist our dear country, Nigeria and free us from the bondage of PDP and its oligarchs, amin. |
#Gwale, Kano. Just like on weekend: streets looking dead with less movement of people; u hear noises of vehicles every now and then; however, life goes on. We're preparing to go and join the protesters. |
Congratulations! Hope he achieves more. |

It's a pity, a real pity: we barely get these contemporary writings (books) here in the North. I sometimes feel desperate--is it because of our fast dying reading culture that publishers forget us when distributing their products? For e.g. I was opportuned to attent Kaine Agory's Reading Performance along a British award-winning author, Benedict Evaristo back in 2005. Agory read from her [then] about-to-be released published Yellow-Yellow novel. We even have pictures together after the reading. For all these years, I'm yet to see the book in any bookshop. I though saw it in one library, but where I cannot even borrow it. Pls help me (us) talk to those publishers. Thanks. NB: You can see from the foregoing, I got little or nothing to say on the OP. |
@tpia, you're making sense. I thank Allah, for even a non-Muslim with good perception and a cleared mind to judge things understand things as they are. Indian people, I believe known to many, are the most "cultured" people. They still, steadfastly, cling to their Dark Ages cultural practice s and beliefs. And what makes India makes Pakistan, hence same thing apply to them. But pure Islam means pure Sunnah --after all what's the meaning of the word? Whatever one sees contrary to the true Islam is gotten from somewhere else, but not Sunnah. And Allah knows best. May He guide us to the right path, amin. |
Is this a news? Lol! Same stu.pid hoax was said to the Muslims cum Northerners living in the South, but what happened? Nothing. Methink those media that give them audience are to be blamed. Lets deal with the current bondage we're put in by the clueless presidor Nigeria ever had - GEJ. This is more a serious threat than this. May Allah save us and have mercy on us, amin. |
maclatunji:Well said and thought. Thank you. |
Same price here in Kano metro. May God save us; may HE break the neck of PDP and its oligarchs, amin. By His grace, GEJ will lack peace of mind till the end of his tenure as president. Stupidest president Nigeria ever had. |
"Wonderful" OP and hilarious responses. How I wish I had time to engage many. Any way, everybody goes with what he believes or "knows". Nevertheless, the myriad opinions expressed are amusing, as I said earlier. @thehijj, be careful. Look at how ignorance and seeming entrenched hatred towards Sunni made u a laughing stock. You hurried conclusion, "name-calling" and over-generalization based on unfounded evidence marred all that u have said earlier. I just now consider you like "others". May Allah, The Exalted, guide us to the right path, amin. |
Alhamdulillah. Congratulations, Sis. Keep up the good job. May Allah bless us all. |
Don't expect many responses to this thread. Truth bites, Alhamdulillah! Nigerian Christians - some, especially aboard Nairaland - hypocritically write as they cannot, and have never, kill(ed) a fly. The truth is in total dichotomy to this claim. This isn't the first a Christian doing what in the end the blamed will be heaped at Muslims. For a reminder: Christians were caught and paraded in connection to the recent US Embassy thread messages; a Christian woman was apprehended in Bauchi trying to set a church ablaze; etc. May God uncover whoever is trying to create chaos in Nigeria, whether Muslim or Christian (and anybody of whatever 'faith'), amin. |
Common sense is no longer common, especially on Nairaland. I can't find any meaning in the relentless criticism which Muslims and the North get from some ignorant members. That man--Sultan spoke not directly about those misguided ppl (Boko Haram) days back, and for this some ppl called for his head. Now he took himself to the Aso Rock for no reason other than to discuss that very issue, yet some slowpokes are calling him names. What on God's earth do u want him to do? He can't just tell those ppl a thing to do. He too, am sure, fears for his life. He's one of their targets. Kai! |
It saddens me seeing how Nairaland is always becoming a secured flatform for dunces and denses and tribal bigots who can't think over things and reason for a second. Say the fukk you wanna say; it doesn't make and will not make any difference. I wonder: everything Islam and North is the most detested thing here. Boko Haram does not represent Islam. Does Crusaders action reflect Christianity? Most of the foools know that they are telling lies, but for the sake of seeking attention and befitting the larger scene they go on saying it. Pity. Though it's lack of meaningful things to do in life. Do it. Continue. It's a job for loosers. |
ultrasat:Wa'alaik Salam, I really don't think there exist a hadith that directly mentions that; it's rather a consensus of Muslim scholars which decreed that one should not pray while wearing a vest/singlet. That's so because it (the singlet) does not cover your body well. Think about it: can you meet your superiors while dressed like that? Sure no. Then who deserves more respect: Allah, The Creator or parent/in-law/boss/etc.? You see. But if it's all you get for the moment and you may not get a shirt or something to cover up and you fear the elapse of time (period of the Solat), then you are allowed to pray like that - or even without clothes - it's permissible. And Allah knows best. |
Hey all, Jarus is my nominated Mod of the Year; his maturity, dexterity, insight and excellent command of English makes him unique among the rest. More-over, he's not a Mod for a single board but for two--Islam for Muslims and Politics. In spite of his so-obviously tight schedules [2 work-place], he's able to do his job here enviously, fairly and well. He has my vote now and always. |
Wonderful. I have never been more fascinated with anything on Nairaland. May Allah, The Exaclted, help this Organization deliver a good job. Keep the ball rolling. |
Salam, May The Almighty Allah bless you brother, tbaba1234, for this a wonderful thread. May Allah bless all the wives mentioned. They are indeed mothers to all Muslims. BTW, I miss(ed?) Islam for Muslim childboard and NL in general. I wish I could still be coming like those days; but gone are the days. Subhanallah! Lastly, the absence of brothers and sisters like Ifalways, Lagosboy, babs, etc, etc, etc is actually speaking alerting and, to a certain degree, worrying. Hope wherever they are, they are doing very well. May Allah bless us all. Muhsin |
Barka da Sallah! |
frosbel:They are NOT Muslims, I reiterate it. And I'm not an American Muslim. Nigerian. Then who's mad here? You, frosbel. Pity. |
I laughed. I have been wondering: the comments may (or rather, must) have been pages if the execution took place in Muslim country, say, Saudia. But being it's the mighty U.S, the "most civilized" nation now on earth, it's all well. What is this? I won't jam the gun myself. |
