^^^ The problem with you people is that: you just choose who want to regard as Ahl-Bayt and refuse to choose who you don't like, e.g. A'isha (RA). N:B Ain't here for argument. Just a few words. Thanks |
Barka da Jumu'ah. |
uplawal:Seems the ahadith fascinated you. How do you live with your neighbours? Are they free from your tongue? ![]() |

Assalamu alaikum, I am not trying in any way to insult anyone here, as doing so is not my doing especially at places like this very one. But @LagosShia, do you read at all? Haven't you seen (if not read) what our and your brother Lagosboy democratically said above? Before him there have been other callings similar to that but you simply choose to ignore that and continue with your tantrum infected posting on these so-called historical "facts", which are in fact fabrication or even fairy tales. Shi'i, if you don't know, is hard sell here; and so it is to majority Nigerians. Lest you don't know, more-over, I live in Kano. I was even born and raise up here. You seemingly lack that in-depth knowledge to advertise your sect. I was once a member of Brotherhood, a faction from Shi'a. The Nigerian Shi'a started under a facade of brotherhood before our then leaders figured that out and ceded from the misguided sect. Lastly, I, particularly, don't regard any Shi'ite as Muslim. I would rather live, "befriend" non-Muslim that you. Why? Whoever doesn't believe a single verse in the Noble Qur'an he/she is not good Muslim, if not Muslim at all. Qur'an plainly absolved Nana A'isha, for instance, while you still see her as an adulterer. Qur'an, further more, describes the pinnacle of Sayyid Abubakar's darajah (highness) while you see him as a dictator who snatched power from Sayyid Ali (RA), among other things. Why, why and why? You, worst, enjoy calling these two greatest persons and many more (like Sayyid Umar) in Islam with all derogatory names in many of your books. Yet, all what I stated above notwithstanding, if you are here for peace so we all are; and if you are not we are ready as hell to deal with you (plural) inshaAllah. And expose your porous thoughts and views. A word is enough for a wise. |
Assalamu alaikum, IFY I would like to make it clear that: I don't have much time to talk tall, and hence I will only give you the info you mostly need without much substantive proofs from Qur'an and Hadith. That, I hope, when the more learned ones come will do inshaAllah. Or myself later. When you are in your period, it is not that you are cut-off from God, no! You are simply in an impurity obviously. Before the advent of Islam, women in Arabia were sentenced to out-skirt, never talked to--in fact even never even listened to unless they are out of that period. Even in our contemporary world, you have things like pad, etc to protect you from that "dirt". That is, as I have already mentioned, an unclean state of being. Hence the religion prescribes how one should, although in that state, practice it, in contrary to all those attitudes already in place. One of these guidelines says no prayer (Solat!), and not all other form of prayer; no fasting but you are required to do/repay that when you are out of that; no sexual intercourse among other things. What you should here understand is that: you are very much free and allowed to make your supplications/prayers (du'as) to the Exalted One, Allah (SWT). You can recite Qur'an (although some scholars say one ought not to hold it but do that "off head", from his memorized store); and do many other things. Hope that helps. Thanks. May Allah guide us all to the right path, amin. |
Hey, what's going on up there? I'll soon contribute, inshaAllah. |
Ameen to all your prayers. Happy Eid-Mubarak! |
Assalamu alaikum, brothers and sisters Thanks for everything (I assume you know what I am talking about). May Allah bless you all. ![]() |
ifyalways:Although not a laughing matter, that had me smiling. lol! I too have been with mother (not father) for long. I barely know her that much, for she died during my primary years. May Allah grant their souls eternal peace, amin. BTW, I wish I had gone for this Hajj. Who do we have in this house there--Mecca, for this year's hajj? I don't know any. |

Northerners’ Support of IBB: Conviction of Coercion? 26th October, 2010 It’s nearly an election season in Nigeria. Each and every political party has set before the people its products for buying or otherwise. Those of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the ruling party, especially of presidential seat, obviously seem to have attracted more attention and occupied wider political landscape. They include, among others, the incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) and the former Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB). The two, indisputably, remain the much-talked-about contenders and formidable challengers with the former crushing the party’s ‘unofficial’ policy of zoning—where the candidacy in 2011 is said to be zoned to North—and the latter objecting to the former’s aspiration. Other presidential hopefuls from the North; of whom majority are barely ‘known’ beyond the Northern states include General Muhammad Buhari under the umbrella of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). Although contestably, Buhari stands unique among them based on his virtually stainless records as erstwhile Head of State and a handler of various ranks and offices, yet could hardly get voted by the Southerners who mostly see him as a mere Hausa-Fulani Muslim who will favour his religion and region. Governor Bukola Saraki, has enough problems to settle in his state pertaining his sister’s governorship candidature; ex-VP Atiku Abubakar, is effectively politically dead and can thus scarcely win majority votes in his local government of origin; former Security Adviser to the president, General Aliyu Gusau, who, in politics, is no more than a featherweight; whilst it’s not yet time for the younger breeds like the former anti-graft commission, EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu. There is, thus, little or no hope in peoples’ minds over these contesters’ possibility and/or capability in challenging GEJ’s ardent bid in any way. IBB did quite good to Nigeria during his reign, yet he, though arguably, is one of the most loathed leaders infamously because of the annulment of June 12, 1993 election, which is said to be the fairest, freest and most credible election ever witnessed in Nigeria’s history; his instituting of Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) in the late 1980s; and his “maradonic” dribbling through out his stay on the Nigeria’s driver’s seat. The hatred is (or was?) so widespread to almost every nook and cranny of the country. But it’s more felt here in the North as some people fumed that “son of the soil disappointed us”. Notwithstanding aforementioned ‘frailties’ of all the Northern contenders, Northerners still see GEJ’s ambition as dishonourable, for “it’s their turn” (Sic). Thus by whatever possible, peaceful means they seek for alternative and indefatigably deepen in their quest. To make matter worst, GEJ all the time messes up things more. His infamy all at once outmatches that of the dictator, IBB. He is so naïve, incompetent and unfit to govern a state like Nigeria. For instance, much of a recent, in the aftermath of October 1 tragic bomb blast in Abuja, he unwisely made utterances that are plainly unpresidential, sectional and very parochial. He boldly absolved the terrorist group, Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) that took responsibility of the dastard act, adding that he knew who the attackers were. The president portrayed his real image—tribal bigot who’s so sentimental and temperamental—to the Nigerians, particularly Northerners, and the whole world, as observed many foremost columnists and political commentators. Eventually many things followed that faux pas as the president senses that IBB is really capable of upturning his much desired wish. Hence, he decided to further follow the footstep of his mentor, the mischievous joker and old despot, Olusegun Obasanjo. He unhesitatingly ‘ordered’ a detention and questioning of the director-general of General IBB’s campaign organization, Chief Raymond Dokpesi by the SSS, over the bomb blast. The issue worsened and twisted increases when Henry Okah, ‘leader’ of the MEND revealed what had transpired between him and the presidency. He was directed to “blame the attacks on northerners…” (Sic) whom the president felt are problem to his becoming a president next year. That prompted an instant and strong condemnation of the president by the Northern Political Leaders Forum (NPLF) led by former finance minister, Adamu Chiroma, calling GEJ to resign or be impeached. Days after, the same GEJ spew more heedless words that 6-3-3-4 policy of education, established by IBB, had failed and ruined education. He therefore called on former education minister Professor Babatunde Fafunwa, who died days after that politically motivated call, to apologise to the Nigerian children. These are but a few of what is there for people to witness. Many more events have happened and more are forthcoming. Considering this and fearing for the worst, Northerners lost all confidence in him and are feeling stiffly unsecured. They seek for a refuge, at first by trying numerous ways such as a consensus candidate, which eventually flatly failed in the past and is prone to fail again and again. The last resort ultimately surface to be the same IBB they despised. The man, as an average Northerner would strongly say, has resources, both financial and human. He has “boys” in every cities and towns of the South and the North in the country. Thus all hopes cling against him to extricate people—Northerners, from GEJ’s grip of power. ifyalways:Amin. Nice prayer, Sis. Wallahi I can't express how happy I always feel whenever I open this thread, which is the first thing I do on this board these days. May Allah guide you, IFY and us more, amin. |
Assalamu alaikum |
Jumu'at Kareem. |
@Auwal, Glad reading those words from you. |
illusion2:Friend, friend, friend. LOL! I enjoy the jest. I wish you khairan in life. |
Wa'alaikum-as-Salam, I'm impressed at how brothers and sisters of the forum already answered your question, Sis. And they, as far I know, have answered the question at hand justly and correctly. May Allah, the Exalted, bless them and increase in their knowledge of Islam, ameen. That beside, I think providing one fatwaa would shed more light on the matter. I find it (the fatwaa) very informative. I have three daughters and I praise Allaah for His blessing, but I wish that Allaah would bless me with a son. Can I pray to Allaah to bless me with this son?. Praise be to Allaah. Yes, it is permissible for you to ask Allaah to bless you with a righteous son. The Prophet of Allaah Sulaymaan (peace be upon him) wished for that. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Sulaymaan ibn Dawood said: Tonight I shall go around to ninety wives and each woman will become pregnant with a knight who will strive for the sake of Allaah.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3424) and Muslim (1654). But he wished for these boys so that they would strive for the sake of Allaah and support the religion of Allaah, not just so that he could enjoy having sons. And Zakariya (peace be upon him) prayed to his Lord and said: “O My Lord! Leave me not single (childless), though You are the Best of the inheritors” [Maryam 19:89] And Allaah says that among the prayers of the slaves of the Most Merciful are the words (interpretation of the meaning): “And those who say: Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of the Muttaqoon (the pious)” [al-Furqaan 25:74] We say “a righteous son” because a son may be a blessing for his family or he may be a curse, so we ask Allaah to bless you with a righteous son who will bring you joy. It should be noted that Allaah gives both male and female children, to whomsoever He will, by His wisdom and knowledge. The believer can only accept and submit to the will of Allaah, and rejoice in His blessing. Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): “To Allaah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills, and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills. 50. Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills” [al-Shoora 42:49-50] Having daughters is a blessing of which many people are unaware, because they are easy to raise, and because of the great reward that a person may gain through them, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever takes care of two girls until they reach puberty, he and I will come like this on the Day of Resurrection” – and he held his two fingers together. Narrated by Muslim (2631). According to al-Tirmidhi: “Whoever takes care of two girls, he and I will enter Paradise like this” and he pointed with his two fingers. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi. May Allaah help us all to do that which He loves and which pleases Him. And Allaah knows best. |
Hey, I'm afraid you have started going to a place where you shouldn't. What has this thread got to do with that misguided Muslims (only by name but not in faith; we aren't the same), Ahmadiyya sect? You ought to have explored avenues of reason before stumbling into that matter, Illusion. Or you were unknowingly swept away by illusion? I hope not. ![]() illusion2:What is the nature of your belief? Do you really believe the factuality of that correction chain? If yes, how? Let me paraphrase it: do you believe that Islam surface to correct the wrongs of Christianity? Where is that said? Ain't saying it isn't said but I want to hear it from you lips for the sake of argument. You may say Qur'an or Hadith; do you believe in either or both? The answer, I know, is of course no. If that I'll simply draw a curtain for the argument. If yes (at least some portion [where it suits you]), ha! That's what I suppose you'll say to back up your claim. For your info its said in both that Prophet Muhammad, may Allah exalt his mention, is but the last of all Messengers of Allah. Then tell me who is that non-existent prophet Ahamad? In fact Ahamad is another name for the beloved prophet, the fact which the sect constantly deny. They rather say its one Ahmadul-Gulam. |
johnie:I think it was the former--Okah, whose house was raided. The statement is even self-explanatory if you really read carefully: the house was raided by Interpol. |

illusion2:I'm not any body like a Divine Interpreter. But I AM a Muslim; in fact a student of Islamic studies, though not in any formal school setting. Additionally I always attend tafseer, Qur'anic interpretation done by many Islamic scholars here and there, every time. Considering these fact and more you ought not to be surprised if I tell thats what so so verses mean. I at least learn from there. You? I only know the likes of you attend Sunday service. Any way I don't know if nowadays Sunday services include Qur'an interpretation. Can you explain how God can be Omnipresent in a simple rational, scientific manner? I guess not. That's the facade you hide behind. We all know that God, as Supreme Being, is above any description. But to say he's 3 in 1 is the highest illogical thought human ever came to believe. The God himself mentions it numerously that He's but One and Only! Why then dispute that? Come on, dud. Now the issue of Jesus Christ being the only begotten son of God is an issue with muslims, which is fine. Just as a lot of what we both believe cannot be reasonably explained in a scientific rational mannerWe are effectively saying the same thing, I am afraid. Although you, at the same time, are saying a little contrary. No problems , say it as you feel.I've already done that. No I’m not an atheist. I actually belong to the most conservative aspects of Christianity, however I have come to realise all faiths (NOT RELIGIONS) generally share a strong belief in the Almighty. But you people add more, though wrongly, to just believing in the Almighty. You say He has son; some say He gets wife; and a another being called Holy Spirit. We, Muslim, believe in serving alone, as He wants and orders his created servants to. Religion is all about don’t do this, do that . . . Christians are this, Muslims worship idols inside the Ka’abba, the moon gods etc.Eh? Yah religion is all about that. But your mentioning that Muslims worship idols. . . I don't get it. So anything I post is all in my attempt to learn more about Islam and muslims and not go with stereotypes.I wish you all the best in doing that. Hope your quest will be worthwhile and profitable. This is precisely my point. There is indeed a difference between RELIGION and FAITH (or spirituality). You too say it. You can say that in a louder voice. |
THIRTY years of age Nigerian, Mr. Tobechukwu Enyinna Onwuhara aka Tobe X, has been declared wanted in the United States of America (USA) for stealing various sums of money totalling $44 million (about N6.6 billion) from people’s bank accounts within three years. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, while declaring Tobechi (short form for Tobechukwu) wanted, described him as a criminal who used sophisticated methods to obtain personal information on banks’ customers’ accounts and also their numbers. FBI has added Tobechukwu to its list of ‘Most Wanted Fugitives. According to reports from FBI, Tobechi was born in Houston, the US, by a wealthy Nigerian father, Prince Onwuhara who himself was a popular fraudster who made fortune from 419 before he settled in America. Reports also confirmed that the suspected fraudster worked with a lender firm, Capital One Financial Corporation based in Texas, from where he was able to master the financial system of the US. Onwuhara was first arrested in April 2002 by the police in Lewisville City on allegations of using stolen identification to steal money from credit card accounts. When his house was searched, items recovered included stolen credit card account numbers, fake driver’s licenses, and materials used in forging identification. Also in December 2002 while Onwuhara attempted to withdraw money from a local bank in Seattle, he was caught with his friend, Abel Nnabule who tried to assist him to escape in a waiting car. Both were arraigned and found guilty in the court. They were jailed two years. But they ended up spending eight months in Seattle prison because of their good behaviour. Thereafter, he relocated to Texas and went underground. He resurfaced again when real estate business was at its peak. With homeowners savings hitting $300,000 - $400,000, Tobechi, through his criminal research, was able to impersonate homeowners using their passwords and home phone numbers to defraud them. According to the US FBI findings, Ownuhara had a female ally in Precious Mathews who assisted him when he needed a female to make calls to homeowners that were duped of their savings. The report added that Onwuhara and his co-conspirators had stolen about $40 million before FBI could notice their scam and identify the perpetrators. As the group became apprehensive that the law was about to catch up with them, the leader, Tobechi was reported to have fled Miami for Nigeria via New York. Other members of the group were, however, arrested, tried and jailed in America. FBI findings indicated that whenever Onwuhara ‘hit it,’ he usually spent $50,000 a night in club houses also visiting five-star hotels and has transferred large sums of money outside America while also shipping expensive cars to Nigeria. FBI report indicated that Onwuhara’s co-conspirators have been sentenced to various jail terms. Those jailed include: Henry Obilo, 30; Abel Nnabule, 34; his girlfriend, Precious Mathews; Brandy Anderson, 31; Ezenwa Onyedebelu, 21; Damsel Orjinta, 43 and Paul Gipson, 34. They were sentenced to jail terms ranging from 15 to 88 months. http://thenationonlineng.net/web3/news-update/15375.html |
