Nothing new here. It will be some ol’ same ol’ folks that will be nominated. We already know them.. the Fashola’s, Fayemi’s & Co. Folks who have held political positions and failed. That’s politics for you. It’s always the party and loyalists first before the country. |
It’s very normal biologically. Then again because you’re in Nigeria they will tell you it isn’t and you should use aphrodisiacs. As we age, our libido and sexual vigour as men depreciates. However, you can boost it by changing your diet (eat clean and green), exercise more and possibly visit men’s clinic. Don’t let these folks talk you into using enhancement concoctions that they don’t know only kills them. |
Personally I’ll give the accolades to the people of Nigeria. I am not taking away any form of praise for the president, it is still early days and he has demonstrated he wants to take the country forward. However, the people voiced out that they wanted better governance and accountability, which whether we admit or not is beginning to put our politicians on their toes. There is still room for improvement and I hope the current administration delivers, even though I’m still skeptical about most of them. Well done to the President. FYI: I’m still not a fan of his |
yusufobinna1:Sure, muyiwashorunke@outlook.com or look me up on LinkedIn “Muyiwa Musaddiq Shorunke” |
AuntyRay:I’ll be glad to assist we’re possible. However, like I stated you do need some fundamental skills / knowledge to guide your path to being either an offensive or defensive cyber specialist. A good starting point is learning networking fundamentals (OSI layers) and basic software development skills. It’s a vast field ..certifications like ComPTIA A+, N+ and S+ can help. On the application side you can start with basic software testing certs like ISTQB. |

yusufobinna1:As a pentester I use burpsuite alongside other tools within Kali almost on a daily. I’d advise you get tutorials materials on udemy |
A good thread/topic.I’m a cybersecurity professional myself with one of the biggest banks in SA. I can confirm it’s a very lucrative and high demand forte. However, it requires a lot of foundational hands-on and analytical skills to venture into. Something you don’t acquire overnight. OP mentioned bug bounty, that’s like grey box testing and it’s not for rookies. Long story short, it’s worthwhile and rewarding but you do require defined skills sets to thrive in it, ranging from pentest skills like footprinting, invasive skills (results from your enumeration) and you decide to be on the blue team then you need to learn defensive skills and tool usage. Good write up OP |
Lol..everybody wants to eat |
To average Nigerian, the definition of success is money- driven. Hence the way the country is the way it is today. We live for mundane things |
Honestly, something has to be done to curb the way our image is being dented abroad by “certain” tribe. In South Africa it’s gotten so bad that there is a TV show named “sizokthola” and it’s a show about capturing people who indulge in selling drugs in the streets of South Africa. Guess who they always capture 80% of the time? IGBOS. I’m not an advocate of tribalism but it’s just too much and really block’s legitimate opportunities for others who are law abiding. |
The real question rather is “ has NYSC lost his bearing and value-add to the nation” ? |
Black race know your roots |
Depends on what your job description and contract states. For instance, sometimes I attend to work related matters on weekends and after hours as per my job description and employment contractual agreement. |
This was long overdue and I was actually appalled that it took so long for the forum administrators to enforce such a rule. The bigotry and hate speech that persisted on this platform really made me distant myself from here. |
This entity is so confused and a national embarrassment. |
Indispensable85:I get your point, totally I do. However there were women there trying to scale the fence. |
The urge to make a video of every scenery in the world today is baffling. Yes, we get the message but was there a need for recording that? |
Gagare1:I know you’re anxious and it’s totally understandable. However, I don’t think it’s a good idea. If you’re required urgently, they will do the needful. Also, sometimes these process can be lengthy due to internal processes and often office internal politics as well. You’ve waited all these while, exercise a bit patience. Remember, what is yours won’t pass you by. Be strong |

Good list but I can’t see any black reads. These are all Eurocentric reads. There are tons of black authors with good materials out there. |
coputa:True though. |
Nyamve1:The real question here is, is the chef being paid or not? If yes, if the pay wasn’t sufficient enough, he has two options 1. Ask for a review (and if review of his salary yields no result), it’s leads to 2. Leave the job. Stealing isn’t an option at all brother, if he was hungry like you said, he rather should have asked and not take something that doesn’t belong to him without asking. It’s just a simple ethical logic of life. As a man always keep your integrity and self pride. |
Shibaraba:People who always say these seem to forget one thing..“how the economy operates”. I’m pretty sure whatever business you run someone is working for you one way or another. Also whoever patronizes your business pays you from the money they’ve made from a certain job they have or do. Think brother, the ripple effect goes around. We all can’t run business, if we do who will do the other jobs... as much you think you’re being smart and all, for an economy to run all kinda business and tasks need one another..even to the level of a janitor. Having a private business Also has its own risks too...the COVID 19 Pandemic is not sparing any business or sector, trust me on this one. Our hope is that somehow it should end soon...no business or business owner is spared! |
muyoge:Just One...Information Technology. |
In a nut shell, IT is sustainIng the world at moment as it’s been doing for a quite a while. To telecommute you require VPN access or some sort of remote connection. e-Learning is mostly cloud-enabled with other dependant technological platforms and tools. Most Betting sites have switched to e-Gaming for survival (I have a client I’m supporting) and even the health sector today in most developed countries vastly depend on state-of-the-art-technology. So OP ...We rule #ITForever. |
Well, here in SA the president just announced a nationwide lockdown to commence on Thursday. The situation doesn’t look all that good but there seem to be glimpse of hope. Unfortunately for me I still need to go to work as banks are not exempted from the lock down. Maybe the forth be with us all |
Nmeri17:Brother it was quite a journey, I learnt so much in both countries. Truth be told, my masters did open my eyes to new horizons coz I discovered my degree taught me nothing. During my masters I was exposed to hands on and concrete learning . In South Africa also, I discovered IT is all about hands on skills...so I upskilled. I wrote quite a handful of IT certifications such CISA, ITIL, CISSP AWS Solutions Architectect etc. so it’s a learning curve, just embark on the journey and you won’t regret it. |
In 2009 after my youth service, I decided to further my studies in the UK. After the completion of my masters I came back home. For months I was jobless and it was excruciatingly depressing and so I decided to head back to the UK. From the UK, I proceeded to South Africa for my PhD, today I can tell you proudly that I’m the IT Manager in well known bank in South Africa. My Masters opened doors for me from the onset I stepped into SA. So I’d advise you strongly to go for your masters in the US. You will reap the benefits sooner or later |
This again has nothing to do with the “God help us” mentality. Fix the roads, have proper transport legislations, and enforce them legitimately and prudently like the 1st world countries and we will have less incidents as such. But NO..those in power travel safely via air...not even via public airlines, private jets that and the likes. The masses in return put everything in the hand of God..if other 1st world countries did the same, we won’t be striving to relocate to those countries. The roads are abysmal, the public transport custodian are crude and ignorant...ask yourselves where else apart from Nigerian and it’s cohorts do they have NUTRW, Road Safety and VIO ? Still the mortality rate on our roads is in all time high on a daily basis. The masses now made it a habit to pray before embarking on a journey...this is appalling. RIP to the dead. |
Instagram uses Facebook’s datacenter after they migrated their services from AWS in 2018. I knew it was a dumb move coz AWS is the no.1 cloud (datacenter) vendor globally. Hence why both Facebook and Instagram are both down. Might be power issues. |
I reside in South Africa and I’m a Nigerian. I’ve been in South Africa for 3 years now. I earned my PhD here and I’m also a citizen of SA now. Mind you my studies was free (paid for by the SA government). Guys there are a handful of Nigerians here doing well for themselves and representing us well. I have a very good job and I’ve made lots of friends here as well. I’m saying these because if only you know what most of our brothers do here.. you will understand the root cause of these attacks and news see and hear all day. It’s appalling, it’s becoming harder being a Nigerian in any part of the world you go to today. How can you leave your country for another man’s country in search of greener pastures, just to get there and desolate the place. It’s not right...I do not support the killing of another human. But let’s not trample on the well being of others for our own selfish gains... |
