TheStronghold:Don't mind them, Yorubas are Yorubas first before been a Christian or Muslim or traditionalist or Atheist. We are more united with our strong culture and highly liberal way of life, we might have som fanatics among us but their number will never be big enough to cause trouble or mischievous among the great people of ODUDUA nation |
NASTYNASOSO:Invaded Ilorin indeed, history from the column of bifraud newspaper. Yes the great benis a decendant of the yoruba race once rule over part of Lagos but thesame benis set up the only organized kingdom in the east aka Onitsha |
JideAmuGiaka:dullard, it is " you want to correct me yet you can't construct a simple sentence" |
optimusprimer:Every sane Nigeria will have a problem with the ruling class of not only Kwara state but Nigeria as a whole, people with contrary views are always people benefitting from the fail system or people clouded with the religious or ethnic sentiment. The major reason why we are in this situation is because states like Kwara have wasted countless opportunities to use federal government allocation to developed key components of economy like agriculture and small scale industries that can get large population youth and women out of poverty. You don't seems to have problem with corrupt people who share similar religiou-ethnic and ideological view point but most of us do. |
dayoolawepo:The pictures might not be from Kwara state and his write up might be a bit mischievous but the truth is since the advent of civilian dispensation most of Kwara state governors (apart from Mohammed Lawal) have failed woefully to lift people out of poverty and developed any meaningful infrastructures. The Saraki's and their cronies have held the state ransom with the help of jobless religious leaders and greedy traditional leaders. Kwara need a new direction and the initiative belongs to the youth ( from 20 years to 40 years) this is the demography mostly affected by poor government and the same demography used by these greedy politicians to steal people's mandate |
madridguy:I think you make a lot of sense here bro, religion has always been a tool of mind control of the poor masses, it is saddened that people can allow themselves to be used and brainwashed by these senseless alfas. The tradition and religious institutions needed to be cut to sizes if we must move forward in this country, my mom is from that state but the truth is the state is one of the poorest states where Yoruba language is spoken, people are so lazy and they depend on government for everything yet they constantly fail to elect credible people to lead them |
ZombiePUNISHER:The sultan of Sokoto is the spiritual leader of Nigeria Muslim because Usman dan Fodio revolution that established Islamic state in most Northern states started and have headquarters in Sokoto, and the fact that there are more Northern Muslim than southwestern or Yoruba Muslim A current pope is a white man and also an Italian by origin "Pope Francis born as Jorge Mario Bergoglio is an Argentine by nationality and a son of an Italian immigrant to Argentina. come again with more lies. |
hornyofife:I don't get it, why are you so pain that people with different artificially created culture decided to come together to live in peace under the same umbrella? We are all human first and we should all embrace one and another and live in peace. |
JideAmuGiaka:You surely have a problem with spoken and written English. English is your lingua franca, it is the language of instructions in our schools, language of communications at the workplace, business centers and places where two or more ethnic group congregate due to our diverse ethnic group and spoken language. You will do yourself a lot of good to learn the basics of the language. |
OLAADEGBU:"God doesn't look like people" But he created man in his image, do you mean God created man spiritually to look like God or Physical to look like God but because man sins against God commandments they now stop looking like God |
davtosh:I don't get your ranting, does being a christian make human immortar? |
zionmade1:Good point, that doesn't erased the fact that one day you will need Allah |
NairalandHowTo:You are very ignorant to believe all the southern groups live on top of mountains. the only mountanous region in Nigeria is the middle belt and north east states like adamawa, bauchi and plateau. The south have better communication to the outside world because of the atlantic oceans, countries like south sudan and central africa republic are similar to the north because they are land locked and lack proper vegetation and rainfall to become a proper agrarian society. The north was never richer or educated than the south throughout her history, Agricultural output of the south like coco, palm produce, rubber and fruits were of more economic importance than the small quantities of hide and skin, groundnut (mostly consumed locally), small quantity of cotton that were produce in the north. At the eave of colonization, Nigeria was one of the largest producer of coco, rubber and coffee in the world. Here is an article about ajami educational system "History has shown that, this system started in the 11th century as a result of the involvement of Borno rulers in Qur'anic literacy. Over seven hundred years later, the Sokoto Caliphate was founded principally through an Islamic revolution based on the teachings of the Holy Qur'an. These two empires run similar Qur'anic learning system which over time came to be known as the Almajiri system" The system was primarily based on the teaching of Qur'anic literacy, it was basically aim at teaching the people only islam and northing more. |
Ddaji:You make a very good point, our major problem is with the elite that always uses the poor to achieve their political and economic interest. I think the youth of the country have a lot of roles to play to ensure that sentiment is not always used by the elite to gain on due advantage. Good gesture by the young Gombe emir to get the less privilege the education needed to build a great society |
FriendNG:You are talking to someone with deep knowledge in Northern pre-independent political structures. The north was largely made up of loose small Hausa states with diverse paganism states in the central ( plateau, Niger, Kaduna, nasarawa), many diverse pagaism state in the northeast ( bauchi, adamawa, southern borno, taraba ete), the only area with concederable political and economic structures was the el kenemi empire of northern boorno and south western chad. Usman dan fodio so called religious movement was a political moovement that truncated the developement and peace loving Hausa state into a rigid, conservative centralized government. This movement happen between 1804–1808, also known as the Fulani War or Jihad of Usman dan Fodio at this point many southern groups like the OYOs, Benis were already trading succesufuly with the portugues and other european group. Ajami education aka Almajiri educational system which involved memorizing islamic test doesnt count in term of education and this was evident in the gab between the north and the south when the colonial master came. Without the resources of the niger delta, the north east will be as poor as Nigeria republic ( a country with hausa majority, about 55% hausa nation) |
FriendNG: |
FriendNG:We live together practicing regionalism where each region uses money gotten from their region to run their government while the central government was in charge of mining. The oil wealth belongs to the Niger delta and the exploration was done by multinational companies, The Nigeria state ( mostly illiterate Northern junta ) don't have the foresight to develop anything, they only give the right to foreign companies and their friends to explore this oil. Kanji dam is an Hyfroelect project that was built over a river that is a natural boundary between southwest and North, it was built by the Nigeria state and generate a paltry 300 megawatt, compare that to numerous thermal plant in Lagos alone. |
kikake:I don't believe i all these stupid propaganda, the truth is bokoharam is a terrorist organization with aim and aspiration to organized an islamic state, they have killed more northerners than southerners and they have destroy more properties belonging to northerners than southerners, Jonathan was a clueless leader that allow these ragtag malatias to gain more power because of his stupid body language and clueless mentality The truth is we have much more ighos in the north living and doing business peacefuly among their northern host, How many northerners do you have in the east? |
FriendNG:Who made you spokesman for the North? What have you done for the North in any capacity to give you the privilege to be Northern Nigeria ambassador? The North is a complex region with more than 100 major ethnic groups of which Yoruba is one ( aka Kwara and southern Kogi), only North-west (aka Hausa Fulanis) can't decide who becomes president of the federal republic of Nigeria |
Humility017:The truth is the elites across all the regions, political divide and religion are the true beneficiaries of our present arrangement. They are the lazy governors from North to the south that sit idle and wait for money from niger delta crude, they are the lazy senators and house of assembly members that collect large sum of money from the government purse without doing any meaningful things, they are the civil servant, countless NGOs, pastors, and imam etc. These are the group of people that benefit heavily from this zoo called Nigeria. The poor are too stupid, occupied by religion and ethnic sentiment to see and fight for their right. I am strong believer of classism and believe in the working class, I don't believe in ethnic or religious solidarities because these are tools used by political elites to swindle and loot our scarce resources |
FriendNG:I voted for Buhari because I believe him to be a man that can help developed Nigeria after the bad job Jonathan has done to ruin Nigeria but I don't worship individuals, I don't pray for sick people, when you are sick you seek medical care and when you don't have the strength to rule a large nation like Nigeria then you resign quietly and allow those that can do the job take responsibility. The problem is the elite, I don't have any problem with a northern presidency, I will apply vote for Emir Sanusi over Tinubu or Ribadu over many Yorubas despite been a Yoruba man that was born and bred in the northern part of Nigeria. A majority of my friends are northerners, we know how hard it is to make it in the region when you are sons of nobody no matter your education qualifications. What we want is good governors, strong institutions, political stability more opportunities, the ethnicity and religious view of who becomes the president is irrelevant to me |
Humility017:Nigeria need to be restructured, the amount of uncertainty we get the moment a serving head of state is having health issues or incapable of performing his duties us alarming. A number of uncertainties that also surrounds transition from one government to another are also very high. A true federalism and decentralization of power from the hand of a strong central government to the states or region will help to curb these power mongers and help to developed the nation |
FriendNG:The problem is how we have polarized Nigeria political system along religious and ethnic lines. Osinbanjo has the right to recontest after completing Buhari's four years in the event that he becomes incapacitated to complete his tenue. if any individual, group, region or ethnic makeup feel that he his not good enough, they should provide an alternative and support and support the alternative at the polling units |
SIRmanjar:I always laugh at ethnic bigot like you, thinking that they and their kinsmen are immune to the violence that may result from the breakdown in law and orders. The reality is that the Igbos and other southern minority groups will be affected most if violence breaks out in most Northern states. The Hausa Fulanis don't have the patient and know how to investigate the ethnic and political views of their target when you are "arini and jamiri" with shops and noisy churches in the neighborhood then you will attack. Your hatred for Yorubas is very cancerous and you people are always plotting and wishing the downfall of the Yoruba race for no reason |
SIRmanjar:I always laugh at ethnic bigot like you, thinking that they and their kinsmen are immune to the violence that may result from the breakdown in law and other. The reality is that the Igbos and other southern minority groups will be affected most if violence breaks out in most Northern states. The hausa fulanis will |
annunaki2:pantheism is the biggest scam against humankind, Mohammed is a criminal that uses an chimerical friend designate Allah to rape, killed and take what doesn't belong to him |
annunaki2:Education and access to information was responsible for my clear understanding of Islam and when you understand Islam you can never be a Muslim. Majority of Nigeria Muslim or Muslim worldwide don't understand Islam because Islam is taught in foreign language. Arab make up less than 12% of total Muslim population, the majority of Muslim world wide ranging from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran, Nigeria etc are been taught Arabic they have little to know understanding of. When you read the Quran and hadith in a language that you understand (without the guidance or interpretation of Muslim apologies, you begin to see all the fallacies, crime of Mohammed). When you study culture close to the Arabic culture at the conceptual stage of Islam you begin to see the lies and decided of Mohammed. The Quran is a worthless piece of paper containing massive shit of lies, hate speech, illogical fallacies and the sychopathic mind of Mohammed. If Mohammed was to be alive today, he will be convicted for war crime, for rape, for hate speech and will locked up for terrorism. People like shekau are the true Muslim |
takenadoh:All money making ventures should pay tax, churches and mosque should be one of the largest contributor of tax to federal government because these money making venture trap people in the informal sector of the economy that are not covered by federal income tax |
Jacko1:That your problem... Ignorance is a big disease that make people to be too sentimental when it comes to politics. I am an afonja(if by afonjas you mean yoruba) and a very proud one, politics is a game with no permanent friend but permanent interest, it is a game of number and the colonial master had skewed the country to favor the so called North (of which the north central is the biggest beneficiary), so, you will need the north or Alliance with them to have an edge in gorverners. |
Blackfire:Islam is a very dangerous dogma that promotes violence, intolerance, and division. I'm an ex Muslim and I can affirm that Mohammed was an insecure, illiterate Arab peasant, who was an opportunist, a rapist, a liar, who projected is insecurity on others through a cult called Islam. Mohammed repackaged '' Allah '' a moon Idol worship by his parent and family to actualized his selfish interest. He was allowed by Allah to marry any woman and as much as he like. He was allowed to rape by Allah, he was allowed to steal, allow to sleep with is son's (adopted son) wife, he was allowed to marry under age etc. |
Pureheart91:The irony of life... You guys are quick to point out the absurdities in the Quran and hadith but when the same absurdities are pointed out in the Bible, you guys automatically switched off your brain to any logical reasoning. The Quran is a book full of lies, deceit and mountain of superstitions and plagiarized test. The Bible is no different, these two religion are all lies |
true2god:I think this man will thank you later for this valuable advice that he is taking for granted now. The irony of life is that some years back I would pick offense in this your comment.... That was when I was a Muslim. Islam is like big onion with different layers of the same absurdities and illogical fallacies. Islam is a very dangerous myth that the practitioners take it too serious. They kill for this believe, they oppress and commit crime for it. |
