3. The board loses nothing if Arsenal fails to qualify for Europe - they will still get paid, they will remain in their jobs while Arsenal FC and its fans suffer.
Hahaha, see your life, the board loses MORE THAN SOMETHING MY FRIEND,the honoraria of board members is correlated to the yearly balance sheet of the club.Among other things, ticket sales, player sales, sponsorship deals, sales of club jerseys and souvenirs and earnings from continental tournament contribute a great deal to a positive/enhanced balance sheet. Now that we've nearly sold off ALL the players whose sales could enhance the clubs bottom line without  commensurate replacements and now that the club is doing so badly in the league,if there is fans apathy and we begin to see empty stands and a sharp drop in those sales and if companies now see the club as having a diminished net market worth, surely adverts/sponsorships will drop and you say the board will not losehuhAgain I want to believe that any board member ought to be a fan of the club also,so whatever would make debosky to suffer as a fan if the club is kicked out of Europe will also make the board members to suffer.

1. There is no 'known fact' that Arsene returned any money - that is the story you are fed, but I will not be surprised if this turns out to be false. Arsenal is not in as good a financial shape as is put out.

2. While it is legitimate to demand more from Arsene, Arsenal's failure to win trophies is less to do with Arsene spending as such, but more to do with the astronomical spending by others.
Are you kidding me.I never thought I'd hear of a student whining that the reason he kept failing in exams was not because he refused to read for those exams, but because the other students read too much

Waoooo

My opinion has not changed - it is foolish to want your own club to lose a game, regardless of whom the manager is.
On the contrary,I think it's foolish to accept a failed status quo and be afraid to try something else. It's even more foolish for a fan to be so blind as not to see that there's no way a failed formula will give a different result without first changing the formula

Anyone wishing Arsenal loses games is not worthy of being a follower of this club.

Have your grouses against the manager, but hoping the club gets into trouble is the most foolish approach of all.

It is daft to think it is Wenger only that will be affected if we lost to Udinese - even if he leaves, he'll get a job elsewhere with more pay, while we'll be left with lower income - how can that EVER be good for the club?

As always, emotional responses detracting from logical reasoning yet again.
First off,as a rule,I've sworn not to abuse/attack Arsenal fans on any thread on nairaland, especially the Arsenal fans thread, but watch your tongue cos if you IBB me anymore, then I sure as hell will OBJ you back.See some of us dont like living a lie,I dont see how that equates to daftness and foolishness. There are several tiers of people that matter to a club; The owners/board,the management team/coach,the players, the supporters, the sponsors etc,we all know that when it comes to making quality signings,it's got more to do with the coach than even the board(in this case, the supporters and sponsors have next to no say),it's a well known fact that Wenger has returned money in time past;money meant for buying of quality players and opted to stick with young/relatively unknown signings from across the globe,so he is more to blame for the mess the club is in presently.
However,I strongly believe the board has not done enough to force him to buy quality players,I mean those that could enhance the club's chances of winning silverware,so since it appears they're content with yearly UCL appearance(maybe because of the earnings the club makes from the competetition, then it's totally apt for me to hope for Udinese to stop us from making it this time around;who knows maybe that is required to jolt Wenger, the board and any other interests that have made it impossible for Arsenal to strenghten the squad and win trophies in nearly ten years  shocked shocked shocked
This is my view and I think I reserve the right to express it on this thread without the fear that any opinionated nairalander like yourself, who thinks he knows more than everyother human being on earth, will run their mouths at me for doing so

The most honest and damning comment by Mukina on the Gunners thread.

Hope more fans will wake up and smell the coffee and know that Arsene Wenger has failed and should resign voluntarily

What is it they say about someone that keeps doing something the same way over and over again and hopes to get a different resulthuh

Honestly I pray for Udinese to defeat Arsenal and make it to the champions league so Wenger would not be left in any doubt that his youth policy has failed and collapsed

Methinks the main issue for discourse should be his ability or otherwise to perform the job he's been appointed to do. More especially as the appointment smirks of the use of unfair advantage to gain ground.

If I'm right, he didn't win in an election to represent his people. Now we see him emerging as a commissioner. Why? What are his qualifications and experience?

At this point, Oyo state after years and years of mismanagement definitely need round pegs in round holes. Not sharing of Government jobs to political families and dynasties.

There mustbe something he's bringing to the table that should make anyone comfortable with his appointment.

Just my twopence. Dont hate me.
He is educated up to university level,he has been in the political trenches for a while,I gues s he must have understudiesd some more experienced people, let's give him time to prove himself,we should give him our best wishes and hope he doesnt dissappoint us cos if he does,na for here we go still hammer am

Kudos also to people like X-factoria for standing by you

@ X-factor,so you and I have a lot in common(per per the bolded below),I see

Do not be deterred. I know that Ajimobi might consider you for a commissioner post if he wins and you must prove a point to these folks with it.

She who goes to the farm to fetch ant-infested firewood must be ready to battle lizards at home.
I guess Mercy thought she could bulldoze her way through with the husband-snatching runs, but she grossly under-estimated the extent an Ishan-Italo babe would go to either keep what is hers or ensure the person seeking to claim what is hers does not succeed.

How is that possible? The accusation was that he was convicted in UK, how can a Nigerian judge testify he jailed someone else?

Or are you saying it Ibori was jailed in Nigeria as well?
Ibori has been a thief even before he went to UNIBEN to wobble his way out with a third class degree.

The crime and conviction Kaolkalo referred to was the case of the stealing of building materials from a construction site(yes you heard read right,James Ibori don first tiff building materials from construction site,so by the time you allow a credit card fraudster, supermarket thief, roofing sheets thief,murderer/accessory to murder to become the governor of a state,of course he can't but steal the state treasury dry)
