My Uncle wants to bring their children back to study in Nigeria so that they will feel Nigeria and Nigeria will pass through them since they were born abroad.
I would like to know the best University that i will recommend to him.
Please give me the reason why its the best. Advantage and Disadvantage
For balance in academics, social sophistication and Street Wisdom. I reckon with 3 unis.
University of Ibadan
Covenant University
University of Lagos.
Since the objective is so that "the kids pass through Nigeria and Nigeria flow through them, then I strongly recommend University of Ibadan. That way your uncle's kids will still
-keep their righteous soul, -taste naija suffering small, -learn positive street exposure without spoiling -and ultimately they will have small knowledge to defend whatever grade they come out with written on their certificate.

The highlighted schools morphed from primary schools/Teachers’ Training Colleges into secondary schools before independence. The exact date of metamorphosis of these schools cannot be ascertained, hence the original years of establishment was used in listing them. Primary Schools and Teachers’ Training Colleges that didn’t morph into secondary schools are exempted from the list. Northern Provincial Schools are also exempted because of inadequate information/recorded history. Examples include; Adamawa Provincial Secondary School (Gen. Murtala Muhammed College), Yola (1920)?! Katsina Provincial Secondary school (Government College, Katsina) (1930)?!
You really should have stopped at 1900. Omissions and errors abound when the list goes beyond that time frame.
Osogbo Grammar School est. 1950 is not there. And there will be others established in 1950 and several others between 1900-1950 that this list omitted.
ZACHIE: Taking the list further beyond 1940 will only cause trouble for the poster. There are scores of schools not listed in that list. My school isn't listed and I'm not finding this funny at all. Stay with pre1900 and stay safe.
Well said. I thought I was the only one thinking in that direction.
There are several errors and omissions in this list. This is because of this point you mentioned. If the OP could go beyond 1950, then the term 'earliest' should be removed from title coz by 1948 Nigeria already had two higher schools which automatically makes Secondary School a sub-par.
Before those two schools were existing, anyone with a Secondary school qualification is considered educated and usually was the end for most Nigerians except for the rich, the gifted and the socially exposed who pursue advance learning abroad.
bamisepeters: Many men wonder why women are the largest part of any religious gathering not just in Nigeria but all around the world.
The truth is that many of them are so emotional than their male counterpart, this is why it take most of them time to get over break-up.
Religion is a way of life which must be taken emotionally or you get distracted easily, this is why it is so hard to convince a woman in love.
Because of this sincere emotion and passion the women have towards religious service they tend to respect the religious leaders more than their husband.
How many women will you see kneeling down to greet or serve their husband?
Whereas, they can even enter into the ground to greet a religious leader to show the level of respect.
Some women will appear to their religious leaders as saint when they just engaged in a duel of weapons with their husband.
Most women become actress at the sound of the voice of their religious leaders They assume their religious leader to be god that they worship, they view them as a completely perfect being forgetting that they are also human being and servant of which anyone can be called no matter the age or gender.
The funniest part is that women even respect the female religious leader who is of same gender with them than their husband.
This is one of the causes of marriage failure for some union.
We really need to change our orientation about the way we see some things.
I remember listening to one religious leader who said that you have given him poison when you respect him while you disrespect the man that tied the knot with you on the altar.
He said if you cannot kneel down for your man don't kneel for him as this is common among women.
Though we all pretend at different instances. Men too have their issues, like those who through their innocence you will have deduced they haven't known any woman even after 4 children.
The issue of discussion for this post is women, so we shouldn't delve. Please change this bias attitude.
Your husband is even more important than the religious leaders as they can aid your commitment to God faster than you can reach your spiritual leader.
Don't forget if they don't allow you there will be limit to the belief, don't let them to start cursing the religious leader when you do to them(the religious leader) what you lack with them(your husband) at home or even outside, God is a jealous God let alone human being His creation
I have a video by late Myles Munroe with exactly same advice to women. He said "The greatest act of love a woman can show to her husband is to respect him. When you respect your pastor more than your husband then he processes that act as non affectionate. Your husband doesn't need love, he needs respect. When you give him your ultimate respect, he interpretes it as love".
sweerychick: Hey op, i know u are definitely not igbo and im not interested in ur tribe either, but i suggest you stop this silliness at once. I know the internet has given room for every idiots of all tribes to come out here just to be heard. I suggest u get off the internet get a life and find something useful doing. a word the said is enough for the wise
Teespice: So an argument is going on right now in my room now as regard the question above. personally, I feel a little jealousy is healthy in relationships. what won't be healthy is when it spiralls out of control and leads to obsession.
Benita27: For one to have a successful relationship i believe there shouldn't be concealment from both parties. But, some people are caught up in the right time to reveal horrible secrets and how such would be perceived and handled by their spouses. Others made the effort to be open, but ended up losing a "loved one", while before some could their spouses have deliberately become inquisitive and dug out some shocking past. Now, these have propelled me to ask...
When do you think is the right time to tell your gf/bf of your horrible past?.
Timing is the most delicate thing in our existence. Anything, actions or inactions can be deemed right, flawed or flawless depending on the timing.
Appropriate moment for anything, any issue will usually present itself. Before revealing such, events and moments will culminate in a peaceful nudge to accept whatever consequences of telling such 'horrible' pasts.
When one's spirit feels calm and one is open to the outcome of such revelation, that's very close to 'the best time'.
tobianthony: When you've done a lot of things in your past ...and present -
Who am I to judge my friend who shall remain nameless for being bisexual .
With all the things I do on a daily basis ...who am I to judge anyone I'm dating .
For me I have learnt not to ask about body count ... It won't put money in my account .
You don't go into marriage to change your partner's past ...you take them for what they are.
I think within the first 24 hours if you feel a tingling in your soul about someone you should let them know about the things they might not like .
I always say freaks should be with freaks .
If you can't deal do not enter the zone .
Always be honest upfront it will save you megabytes and wedding invitation money .
A woman can shock me but she can't surprise me ...
sexybbstar: You are 100 percent correct but she told me one thing I hold on too. I was single then and she said someone will ask me out on a so so so date and that will mark a turn around in my relationship and that was it. This guy was the only one that asked me out on that day and sincerely, this is my best relationship so far.
Lucky you... Everything she says are usually very accurate but she hasn't impressed me. I too have a thing for precognition. I guess everyone has it but some of us are bothered more...
It's not science in it's entirety...Some use dark energies. Maybe, maybe not. (White garment priests too can foretell anyways, it doesn't change anything)
I also made sure I didn't give absolutely complete details. The prediction is not an end in itself, it's only a means - an alterable means paapaa.
sexybbstar: You will pay her 39 dollars and she will continue sending things into your email every week.
Well, got a few mails from Mary too... I never paid the 39dollars though, this is because her mails usually end with a combination of words subliminally laden with desperation. I did a background check on her and the site, turned out to be that several folks have reported her (and the site). There are claims of "No value for the money paid"...
Besides most of the things Mary sends to me fall in in the category of things I already know.
sekxy: greetings to u all.. guys what's ur take on female Engineers..because i have come across some guys that think it's weird for a lady to study and work as an Engineer..some think it's a Herculean task for a lady, while some think they can't make a good wife..like keeping a good home ..while some think that most of them are not attractive because of their masculine nature.. some people always discredit the fact that a lady will make a good Engr..
working in a firm and having female Engr that also work in the same firm u work in..how do u feel having them around u...
thanks
Actually the female brain due to more grey mater than the male brain, makes them extremely intelligent and brilliant. They are usually very smart and better engineers. The ones who are good are exceptional but few...Usually besting the male folk.
They are best suited for Research institutes, Engineering Laboratory Analytics, Softworks generally where less muscular aptitudes are required.
It's observable that there are fewer ladies in Mechanical.Civil. Agricultural Engineering while there are more in Chemical.Computer. Petroleum. Biomedical.
Electrical Engineering usually oscillates in the middle, attracting very intelligent women of high aptitudes more than the other 'muscular' disciplines and sometimes having less than the modern newer disciplines.
I respect ladies in Engineering and naturally extend the same to a female engineering undergrad.
Ladies make the best engineers but they're still very few relative to the total female population.
I recommend a movie Hidden Figures. It's a 2016 movie based on the unrecognized contributions of 3 black female NASA employees towards the launch of US mission to Space.
Ghana simply used Charles Soludos method. '000 was used as a basic denominator for all currency. I.e a previous 1000cedis commodity will be sold @ 1cedis.
Soludo as the CBN governor wanted to use '00 as a basic denominator for Naira deliberately to save the Coins and encourage transactions done in Kobo too. The Ghanaians I know used to mock their own currency. One scenario still very vivid was a joke about how they used to drag their salaries in Ghana-must-go sacks being payment for a month work as a sales boy.
They said as a secondary school leaver trying to work for few months and make savings before securing admission for further studies, they get paid in millions, which could not catapult them away from the poverty line.
Same thing is affecting the Zimbabwe dollar. A bottle of Coke probably goes for 10million dollars
In essence, Ghana's currency Cedis is nominally or 'numerically' weightier than Naira but it's a ruse, their economy isn't any better.
It's like what we used to do as kids by dilluting Coke with water just to increase it's volume in the bottle. It will be plenty but the taste would have become light.
4dor: We can't reach a valid conclusion based on conspiracy theories. As for the emboldened, after attending one of the best Universities in the world, working with exceptional Software Engineers with at least above average IQ for years, it's the funniest appraisal I have seen. Once again any argument that can't be backed up with valid proof remains invalid, smart humans are logical not radical.
Sir, you may be at par with the brightest brains but that aptitude is not absolute requirement for all endeavors , political Intelligence is different especially if it pertains to Nigeria. That a fact is invalid doesn't necessarily mean it's not true. It only means the person presenting it doesn't have substantial evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt.
It doesn't change what is true. Conspiracies or otherwise
bamidelee: do they ask xtians to participate? or are there no Muslim's in Nigeria CAN should register as a political party and we know how to address them better. it's a must they put mouth in everything. yeye dey smell
Let's assume you are Atheist and your clan/family is supposedly a combination of various divisions of atheism -free thinkers and the likes. Then there's a harmless Egungun sports festival being organized by Ògún Worshipers and strictly for Ògun Worshipers. But some of your 'atheist' kindred who are skilled in masking and dancing enlisted in the Egungun festival.
What will anybody or the organizers think of your Clan?
Apparently everyone will assume those kindreds of yours have represented the whole clan, and prseumed Your clan is traditional religionist which is NOT true.
Do you know the Genesis of Muslims having Sunday gatherings in Nigeria?
It's majorly because some churches/denominations have some how been able to lure and convert innocent and unsuspecting Muslims to Christianity simply by participating in harmless church activities on Sundays when these Muslims appear idle and unengaged.
WHERE WAS CAN WHEN ADEBOYE MADE US IGNORE THE WARNING PASTOR BOSUN EMMANUEL GAVE US ABOUT APC & BUHARI'S ISLAMIC AGENDA? https://i65.tinypic.com/2q9xbhw.jpg
HERE IS BOSUN'S PROPHETIC WARNINGS THAT ADEBOYE MADE US DISREGARD.
CAN PLEASE IT'S A GAME OF INFLUENCE, AND ADEBOYE HAS NO PROBLEM WITH ISLAM. WE ALL KNOW THAT ISLAM DENIES JESUS, SO IF ADEBOYE IS NOT BOTHERED WHY SHOULD YOU BE?
I want to assume you are educated.
Adeboye may be 'influencial' but that has NOT disputed the Bosun Emmanuel claims. Everything that man said was true and is even truer 2 years into this administration. Every fact he predicted are coming to pass already.
Adeboye is NOT God and religion tolerance is not the same as False Representation.
That being said, the Fiesta is organized by Islamic Countries and strictly for Islamic Countries . Nigeria participating in simple terms imply Nigeria is an Islamic country. This is misrepresentation because Nigeria is supposedly 'secular'. Some of us know better actually...
It's different from religious tolerance. My neighbor sitting with me as I type this is a Hausa/Fulani- Muslim from Ilorin and I'm more comfortable with him than some other neighbors who are 'christian'. We practically share everything and respect the boundary conditions. That is tolerance!
Please you people should stop using one pastor or bishop as a general yardstick for everyone. Besides what Adeboye said is what the Pope will say as well as regards tolerance.
Statsocial: I'm really happy for CU. We even got more citations than University of California, Berkeley! The Research Clusters are really coming alive to their work. I would be so much happy when they lead globally in Engineering as a whole. After checking Elsevier document I discovered the Corossion inhibor and Carbon Steel research cluster is led by one family-The Loto family. It seems the Father who is a senior Lecturer is constantly working in that fuel with his sons who are also lecurers. Good work.
I think Bshop Oyedepo and CUCRID has also granted Prof Sanjay and his folks about $816,000 to go into Software development and reverse engineering.
Can barely see the pictures tho.
True. Until CU and other Nigerian unis get frequent ratings on Overall Engineering innovations, the world won't take us serious.
I'm not pro-private unis but in recent times, CU has greatly proven to be exceptional. This is commendable really.
And I'm especially delighted because CU and UI ranked higher than Almighty King Fahd University...Shows Nigeria will get there soon. Saudi Arabia doesn't joke with research.
nnol: heard yesterday frm a reliable source dat bubu has finally agreed to resign,he has already informed the three former head of state(Obasanjo,Abdulsalami and IBB) and dat was the reason they held a meeting in niger state, obasanjo insisting for kwankwaso to be vp to osibanjo wen bubu nd abdulsalami insisting fr tambuwal to be vp to osibanjo wen bubu resign, bubu officially letter to be read on may 29.
I really don't know if this is true...but everything that has been happening is a direct outcome of the meeting. I mean it's glaring the days preceding the meeting PMB was reported to be;
Working from home ( home/office)
Allegedly being fed intravenously
Anaemic.
After that meeting Chibok distraction, Bubu left the country (after the jumat media scam).
Now military reshuffle.
******
Technically Nigeria is being ruled using military tactics. If what FFK said is true about the changing of security details of VP Osinbajo, then the coming days will get interesting in Aso rock.
The C-in-C himself is a retired general and the guys controlling this scam 'country' (IBB, OBJ, Abdusalami, TY Danjuma) are all retired generals.
In simple terms I couldn't agree less with you because that meeting is already giving birth to clear actions and there's more to come.
roeb1987: If u say the truth u will die, if u don't u will also die! Why not say the truth and die innocently! We all know and see the drama rampaging the abduction and the release of the Chibok girls. I could recall when Nigerians were in the mid of recession and Nigerians were busy talking (negatively) about the current administration, some of the girls were released which later silence the criticism of the current PMB's administration. Now Nigerians were eager to know the state of their president health, some of the girls were also released. which I believe will silence the eagerness of Nigerians to know the president state of health. pls, who is fooling who? This is season two of the Chibok girls...watch out for season three
God bless you. The news of Buhari leaving for London broke after I had written my earlier post. I am even more convinced now that the outcome of the meeting IBB, OBJ, Abdusalami had is exactly what is playing out....We should keep fingers crossed on next set of events peradventure PMB didnt make it back. (God Forbid)
exlinkleads: I wrote a post about this purported capture and release of Chibok schoolgirls yesterday and many people were criticizing me, saying that my cynical approach to things is not good and is not patriotic. I told them they only way to be patriotic to a government is to criticize what you think is not right.
I had reasons to believe that Chibok school girls might be a myth that we will all here how it went down as the time goes on and suffice to say, is not only me that echoed this sentiments. Host of Nigeria, I mean 1000's of Nigerians believe this is the deception of the century. I mean most of them thinks that the government knows were this girls are all along.
See what Nigerians on twitter thinks about the release of Chibok schoolgirls...
I tell you, I thought I was the only person been overtly 'sensitive'.
Those girls have been fine all along. We'll recollect that Obasanjo in the heat of the kidnap hype that time went into 'Boko Harams camp' to check the girls. He came back with prophecy of doom that most of the girls may not come back...For me this may/maynot be partly due to the fact that No girl was kidnapped in the 1st place.
Secondly they needed something concrete against GEJ and the Master Crafters are still alive...(IBB, Obj, Danjuma, Abdusalami). The hype by Western countries about Chibok was more than a Kidnap plot...It was a means to an end (topple GEJ)....Now it's achieved and cleverly did a fast one on us during 2015 campaign by ensuring that Bringing Chibok Girls back was included in PMB priorities (whether he's aware of the plot or otherwise).
Madam Oby Ezeks was not part of the plot apparently and She was USED on a supposedly just cause. In the process she got personal with the Army spokesman who clearly were in the know from the day the said girls were 'kidnapped'.
Note: Immediately the news broke that some school girls have been kidnapped while writing exams, the Army few hours later DEBUNKED it on TV and said No girls were kidnapped. 24hours later, the same Army through the spokesman came out again to retract their initial stance and Confirm that a number of girls were 'kidnapped'. This led to conflicting reports on the ACTUAL NUMBER to be claimed officially.
Also there was issue of failed Negotiation.
The 3 musketeers (OBJ, IBB, Abdusalami) held a closed-door meeting in Minna just last week. It is not unconnected to this 'release' which is part of series of underground schemes they may have done on behalf of PMB.
The 21 girls that were exchanged last year happened shortly after May 29...(can't remember the precise date). These 82 girls are released 3weeks before may 29.
We should also not forget that Boko Haram had at some in the past nominated Muhammad Buhari to represent them at the earliest stage of 'negotiation'.
I couldn't agree more with you that the Chibok case has been one might ruse played on the intelligence of Nigerians.
abbeyfel: This Latest Picture of IBB Will Shock You. See What he as Become
See how time changes everything...
After seeing this Picture, I think Buhari is faring better and a strong man considering his anaemic nature and age. Ibb looks 20 years older than his age sef and I'm sure it's serious money they have spent on his health for him to even stand like that. Buhari is sick but Babagida is sicker.
Buhari is older and anaemic...Some of his children/grand kids don die of Sickle cell sef.
Nigeria can't move forward if people like Obj, IBb, Buhari, Abdusalami, Atiku are still alive... I'm not wishing death on them but their absence will restructure this country.
LARRYDKING: Get ur facts right, FUNAAB and some other schools don't have catchment area too. Check jamb brochure.
Lol, jamb brochure...In this country? UNN doesn't have catchment area too...but in Practical terms it does.
Unilorin is supposedly a Federal School but in Practical terms isn't truly Federal in Admissions and employment quota, same goes for FUTMinna and some others.
Funaab is purpose-named and isn't a National University. It may assume the No Catchment Rule especially if the course is Agriculture related... but at best is theoretical.
The only University, I repeat the only school that jettisons Catchment Rule according to Federal Character and obeys it to the letter is University of Ibadan.
Basic123: It uses to be nigerian national library.
so,as of today,it retained some privileges of the national Library.Any book produced in nigeria a copy is dropped at both U.I library and the national Library.
You're very right. University of Ibadan is still the only true national university in this country. The only intitution that has NO CATCHMENT AREA rule. Any f*-king scholar can apply.
UNN, OAU, ABU, Unilag, and Uniabuja are still in practical terms regional.
West End of ETF Lautech Library (Apparently it's been renamed). This is the Phase One you know, the second phase was never constructed...existing only in the model.
