somehow:I still have people I report to on site. Check and balances on project of that scale is normal. |
somehow:Exactly my point. The whole carcass was on NextHome until you requested for an option quote for the electrical works while we were preparing for the first floor slab. It makes me wonder why we need another quote when the contractor has already made provision for it. But the client is always right! |
I’m not the one one who chose the lowest bid for electrical pipe work. I’m not the one who cleared the job for casting. Oya, what else should we blame n3xt for? |
bixton:NO If that's the case then you are also responsible for whatever issues that is being dragged here with respect to the pipe blockage and substandard use of same. Now that this is not the case, what next? ![]() |
bixton:Interestingly Bosun had a project supervisor that was on the clients pay roll who was on the site to check all that was done before we are cleared for concrete pour. We never did anything unilaterally. The supervisor was on the project from the very beginning of the project till end. He didn’t miss any part of the build and was around to ascertain the quality and probably quantities of materials at every stage of work. |
Greenarrow01:Approved subcontractor with the lowest bid from the shortlisted subcontractors we contacted amidst the contract. We send those we can the MEP plan and invited those who can come to visit site. Forget about wiringAs explained above. If youI wasn’t at the site to see the blocked pipes so I wouldn’t know what caused the blockage neither can I presume what the cause could be. On the issue of inferior, I recommended a professional electrical contractor to bid for this phase of work and he did send in his bid but the client ended up picking the one with lowest bid. Or did somehow bought the pipes himself .The client doesn’t need to buy the materials by himself. What the client get is determined by what he paid and not what he wish. We used local iron rods on the project. The client cannot question the contractor why wasn’t TIGER TMT used. |
somehow:I’ve moved baba. I’m not going to drag someone who’s having a great time into your baseless accusation. A simple question of “Why was there a need for option quotes on electrical pipe work during the project when you already have a contract covering everything in place?” You can’t provide answer. You started tagging people up and down. Talking about wiring when we were discussing conduit pipe work. I know lies when I see one. I know deflection when I smell one. You WIN ![]() |
You can’t establish your allegations with irrefutable facts. It’s a shame. I’ll pay you off soon. |
somehow:All evidence proved you wrong sir. The timing and the content of the quotes received proved you wrong. I think you should share the quote you got and the date on it and explain to us why it correlates with the time we were getting ready to do the first floor slab. I don’t make up stories. I deal in facts. |
somehow:Yes it’s part of the Contract. That’s why I’m wondering why you had to request for another quote amidst the contract for electrical pipe works. It wasn’t as if we negotiated each stage of work separately. It was a turnkey project. If yes, did we negotiate specially for conduit piping?I never had to review my contract with you but you came with option quotes for the electrical pipe works and chose the least bid submitted by the subcontractors contacted. If no, who then did I send to handle the conduit piping while you were on the job?The job was awarded to the contractor with the least bid. I know you're trying very hard to sound smart by muddling the waters.Am I supposed to sound stupid? The public should carefully watch your gimmicks.Noted but I’m not the one who had to review a quote vetted by a QS amidst a project and chose to accept the least bid. E go red for you on this thread.I rest. |
I have a witness in the house sha and evidence to proof you got what you paid for. Exhibit 102: Quotation for Electrical Work submitted by XYZ Electrical Contractors dated... |
No further cross examination. |
At least the contractor has stated what his scope covered. Why was there a need for an option quote on electrical pipe work amidst the contract? To achieve what exactly? Simple question. |
somehow:Let me make it easier. Why did you accept option quotes for electrical pipe work on the contract? |
somehow:So long it rock your boat sir. Kindly find time to attend to my last message sir. |
somehow:Bros, I said you get what you paid for. Stop digressing. True or False? We got a premium quote from a well known MEP expert here and you said it’s nonsense and got other cheaper quotes which you ended settling for. |
twinskenny:It’s not yet your turn bro. You’ll be called to come and perform when it’s your time. Stop jumping. I’m sure you think I was talking about you. It’s not you! |
DrGoodman:I don’t drink. I don’t club. I don’t womanize. I don’t smoke. I don’t gamble. I don’t do yahoo. You gat nothing on me. I’m a legitimate worker. |
Itsrm:I’ve seen electrical. What about plumbing? I believe we’ve moved on but if it won’t be an issue, I can still get an electrician to fish those pipes and get cables installed in them without worries at no cost to anyone. Structured cabling is my major before I get into construction and I’ve worked on even far more complex situations. Meanwhile, the client had a premium quote from top electrical contractor here (recommended by me) but chose to go with the cheapest in the market. I believe he has his own reasons Fortunately for me, apart from steel trusses which was a variation item, the electrical work is the only part of my work that option quotes were sourced from subcontractors and picked based on clients approval. Abi I lie? I rest. |
DUNKA:Remote Working And there’s owambe today. |
Asking for a picture would really help not just me but every other person here from making such mistake in the future. How about that? |
Itsrm:I’m only asking what happened to the pipes. Is it that they were missing or damaged as at when a new contractor wanted to take it up or that we deliberately fill them with concrete? Or probably sabotaged? Or that wasn’t a possibility? We had the eye of the owner on the project every day we work. Or could it be the project supervisor wasn’t doing his job? Or just deliberate attack on my personal? I need to know what happened since I wasn’t there to physically defend my work. Is that too much? |
XL6 Trillion Atrium House by NextHome >> See Formwork To think we were accused of eating money for plumbing pipes and not money for more expensive things. It’s well! The whole building won’t even use 14 pcs of 4” pipe sef. Abi no be 4 bedroom? Next

Apologist02:Interestingly, we get it free but you bring your truck. But Lafarge only do this occasionally - only when they flush. If you don’t have truck, you get those who have access into the plant to help you. That’ll come at a cost but not more than 15k - 25k within sagamu. |
somehow:Pictures of the pipes removed or aidonbelivit
|
Apologist02:I get directly from Lafarge plant in sagamu. |
Just for learning purpose Here’s a picture of limestone waste used on my driveway. If you look at pic 1, you’d see standing water and a dry land. The dry land part is my side. No matter how heavy the rain, my driveway doesn’t get soaked or soggy. Stonebase and stone dust would allow passthrough. Limestone waste doesn’t. It absorbs moisture.
|
Apologist02:You’d be fine with 4in thick pipe but use larger pipe or 2 4in pipes if you anticipate the volume of water will be much. I use 2 pipes for my perimeter drain. Another important thing is you must ensure you achieve a very good slope. See pic below.
|
DrGoodman:I see you Bros as inconsequential. When it comes to battle of wits, you are unarmed. Enjoy your reign here. I’m unperturbed. |
DrGoodman:Thrash as usual. |
Apologist02:I raised a similar concern 2 days ago when someone shared an alternative septic tank solution but I got no response. I know people are quick to jump on solutions that are not only cheap but quicker to execute without considering the downsides of such solution. __________ I’ve seen the havoc such undirected waste waters can do on buildings when left unattended. As a matter of fact, I have a very good case study of such issue on this platform. I had a similar issue on my personal build but I did all my best to ensure waste water (from my compound or that of neighbors) doesn’t percolate around my property and I’d never had to worry about water issues regardless of how terrible the situation might be. I used limestone waste to sandfill my driveway and perimeter. I’ll try do a video during any heavy rain to show you how heavy flood are diverted from my property. My advice for you is to stop the water before it stops you. Ensure you redirect the waste wasters far away from your property (at least 100m away) even if it means you’d do drainage for your neighbor or running underground pipes to a safer level for proposal disposal of the waste waters. I do hope the professionals and septic tank contractors would be here to recommend a more pragmatic approach to solving this type of problem. Regards. Edit: _________ ** Limestone waste absorbs moisture

FEGEITOK:A friend tried this before but gave up along the way while trying to forge strategic partnership with local service providers. The “show-me-the-money” and lackadaisical attitude of the local contractors was a major turn off. It wasn’t long before they started posting devotional messages and solicitation for help on the platform he created.
