ComputersRe: Why Is My Laptop So Slow? Help! by na2day2(m): 5:41am On Sep 10, 2007
it has nothing to do with the brand of laptop since most of them use the same oem parts or similar. the first question u guys shld find out is how old is this laptop, if u have 7yrs old laptop with a celeron chips and u where expecting the current performance of and centrinal rose (intel core 2 duo 7100 or higher) u r are joking. a 1988 volks no matter hw well it has served u will not out perform a 2007 mazda 626. get that fact straight! u can keep adding more heavy programs to it and expect it to work like a champ. number 2, very important, take norton out as soon as possible, that sucker takes up to 35% of ur system resources. get better antivirus like trend micro, nod32, kapsersky etc, these are very light weight programs and dont consume ur resources like norton and macafee does (but macafee has recently improved their program and now have a better virus defination database than norton) nod32 just take 4% of ur system resources. u can also go to this site www.crucial.com and see the maxium ur laptop can handle, also it will tell u the type of memory ur laptop uses (clock speed and all that). number 3, u can use the command " msconfig " in run if u have windows ME, windows 2000, xp, and take out some programs that start up when windows boots, that will help improve ur notebook performace, (pls no go stop system programs or processes oooooo, well na ur laptop, na u go hear am). lastly, check for malware activities and clean them. if ur hard drive space is small, defragment but if u have a 250gb harddrive and u want to defrag, OYO! better have a pretty fast processor oooo.

does have to do with toshiba satellite laptops because i own one too and its darned slow too.i recently had to delete sme files and it became faster.

hunter777:
i'm amazes how we all love to fool ourselves as regards the eaglets being You-17s, we don't need a rocket scientist to tell us that our players are clearly over-aged, happy as i am for them,i'll love to see them play at the top level in 5yrs time(at least they should be 22 then). A good example is adeneye(one of our defenders at Holland 2005) who refused to undergo a bone test which would have revealed his true age, the spaniards have a lot going on for them.at least they've got players in arsenal, barcelona, athletico madrid etc, lest i forget, where is femi opabunmi of trinidad and tobago fame(where we came second to france) huh

romeo is not preying on women, theiefofhearts is not a woman, she and her friends are hermaphrodites.
so if they claim to have gay friends and yet try to make fun of romeo and redsun (even though we all know they are not gay) tells me that they are friends that are back-stabbers. why are we worried abt the state of english language in nigeria sef? we got bigger problems with the low lives of those that try to call themselves nigerian women. tufiakpa!!!

SwtNsoFLyy:

I'm greatful that I've never developed the attitude of "NO Finance, NO Romance". This is setting a high expectation at the expense of one's happiness in the long run, unless they don't care if they just settle for less in the finer things in life. Just because someone has alot of money, doesn't mean you will be happy as an ending result. It may very well be possible, if you land a man/woman with money who are in your social circle, same wavelength, and compatibility level, however I find that if we just look beyond this mentality long enough to search out what really makes us happy, its that ONE gentleman who the money hungry women overlook,, is the diamond in the rough, to prove himself to be prize that I will lay my eyes on ,

For me, its all about his relationship with God, his potential TO make money and the woman's support in helping him along the way. Friendship first, satisfy what your heart desires, give the guy with potential a chance, and in the right timing, money will follow. Its all about personal perspectives ,

love & light,

i see why u dont post to nairaland because when u finally did na bull u just dey yan. so u wake up early to go to work so u can get laid? poor man na hin u bi for sure. i go to work early because i need to and it is a means to get an end, which is a bigger picture not getting laid. do a research and u will find out that sex is more higher is the poorer regions than in the richer regions of any society. one of indian prime ministers got an award when she gave free tvs to all of indian families. the result of the act was the hugh slide in the sexual appetite of the ppl because earlier they had little to do but have sex and reproduce. always get ur facts right b4 u come here and give us bull.

apache77:
first time i am contributing here on nairaland, and i must say that for Nigerian men, our biggest blesing is our women and their demanding anture. If not for them girls, u wont believe just how many men would still be waking up in their houses(for those that have houses) by 10am. When u know that you can't get laid by them chics because you're too poor, u know u just have to go out to make this money, the girls and their attitude is a challenge and not a problem- it just depends on your orientation to determine which side u belong, instead of complaining and sulking- go and make money- why shouldn't a woman u meet on the street care whether u have money or not, when even in your house, your mother( though she may not admit it) probabbly regards your richer junior brother more because he gat more money
CultureRe: Terrible State Of The English Language In Nigeria by na2day2(m): 6:18am On Sep 07, 2007
i think u need to get ur facts right, there is no language spoken in today's world that still has its original format. languages will ever be evolving, thats why english, french etc will always have variations depend on where u are. calling it laziness is to get stuck in the last century. get up, move on and smell the new breeze (it might just be ur fart)

FYI: the queen's english like it is now is far different from what it was in the last 200 to 300 yrs ago, else we did still be speaking king james version of english as seen in the earlier translations.

samsilo:
@redsun
I put to you and all those defending poor English spoken and written by educated Nigerians. This is a reflection of poor self discipline and mental laziness, as debosky pointed out if one lacks the will to speak a language properly, I wonder where the will to carry out more demanding tasks will come from.
If I go to my village and start speaking my language in a garbled fashion at a town meeting ,I assure you they will not congratulate me for a job well done.
It is not a matter of colonial mentality etc,any language you speak whether its Hindi, speak it correctly

@ the rest of una

e don do. na pidgin english dey bring all this quarrel? i bow oooo! ok, we no sabi speak english, make una go die. the english we speak b4, na wetin una carry am do? abi the country bi improve? abi no bi from speaking grammar we kill our country b4 the english kon dabaru? we just dey act like typical nigerian politicians, wetin dey worry us, we no go address am, na wetin no dey relevant na hin we carry for head. france dey speak english? abi japan dey speak english? even the english man neva speak correct english and yet nobody don give am sack letter say make hin waka from the country, so why una wan break our head with this cyber crisis, hen? if pidgin becomes our unifying language, so bi it ooooo, i dey for the language back 24/7, and for una info, pidgin english dey relieve stress well well, dey speak am daily and u go see say u go dey fresh small, and ur blood pressure go dey kampe. so make una leave case, talk wetin truly dey wrong with our beloved country, and bring useful suggestion come table, u neva know hw far e go help ppl wey dey back home.

give me a break, why is it so easy for us to condemn nigerian men? find out from all the nigerian ladies that married akarta boys here or even lots of white guys and let them tell u their stories. many of them are regretting it right now as we speak. alot of nigerian men here are providing for their own families and sweating it out on foreign soil just to give their families here and in nigeria the best of life, nobody is commending them, y'll just open ur mouth to any convenient radius and just miss yan. abeg make i hear word.

jujukemist:
winkNa2day; no had feeling,I still stand by what I said. obviously you are reacting, which infers that you are a VECTOR. most Nigerian men have lost the capacity to steer the women folks in to theire god giving place. i am just being objective, not being emotional. just be a real and an excellent man-i know you can. i can see how ur going to nigeria every summer helped u become a better person. at the end u turned out to be this kind loser, i am sure not in a hurry to see ur brother that didnt go to nigeria during the summers (he probably didnt go because u were no better than him that went.) honestly i did like to know why ur parents made u learn a nigerian language when u can hardly make a proper sentence in english that u met here when u were born. if ebonics is ur thing, thats kool but it is stupid of u to tell us to make our kids africans by sending them to africa during the summer when u came out from that experiment a failure.
