2nd Application
Submission/Biometrics: November 24th (Paper)
No medical request. I submitted my previous medical print out in the new application
Hadn't heard from them after 2 months plus, sent CIC an email, they responded and requested my new LO which I sent immediately.
Approval dropped this morning.

Purpose for denial were the generic reasons. purpose of visit, fam ties, length of stay, assets and financial status. In my previous application I had dealt with all of these reasons, still I was denied. I felt it was because I applied for a PGD.. so the only thing I changed in my new application was my School. luckily, I had an offer from Carleton .. that's what I changed.

A quick question House.

How can you fix an error whereby a VO misunderstood your previous travel history. I submitted copies of my visas and documentation of my previous trip, stamps of immigration in and out, yet I cannot understand why the VO would state such on my gcms note. See attached picture.

Do think i should go do it in Lagos as I'll be Nigeria 9th of Dec, or do it do it here in the state?

If it is still 30-days of expiring. And you do not have the $400 to run the medical at Chicago, I suggest you should wait until yo return back to Nigeria and have it done. $400 is quite expensive when you can do it at IOM for N28,000. Or other recognized physician in the country.

Good day All,

GOD is miraculous. Am sharing my story to encourage us and believe that GOD has a plan for us all.

I applied online on May 8th 2015 but was denied on July 8th 2015. Reasons ticked were purpose of visit, personal asset and financial status. I was depressed but I still prayed to GOD that may his will be done. I was introduced to a PFL agent who later reviewed my app and brought out some flaws. eg. I filled the TRV form for visiting, the agent also made a statement that there was no interrelation between my sponsor and I. Although I am self funded.

I reapplied on September 16th,see below.
Reapplied paper route- sept 16th 2015
medical call- oct 5th 2015
medical done- oct 6th 2015
approval mail on - oct 26th
Passport dispatch mail on- Nov 5th
TRV pickup- 15 Nov 2015.

All praise to GOD for this miracle. I did police report, I had a letter from my mum saying she knows am travelling and that my aunty will support me, and all funds will be in my account, filled study questionnaire, readjusted my SOP to have Nigerian ties and other strategies.

All praise be to GOD, it was indeed a miracle. Wishing others the best and handsome TRV.

Your GCMS is self-explanatory.

Here are the biggest takeaways.
In the eyes of the VO:
1. You did not provide a compelling reason to study in Canada
2. It makes no sense why you would spend so much money to go to Canada particularly when there are similar courses in Nigeria (same as point 1, just in different words)
3. Your application raises suspicions that you are likely using the study permit route primarily to emigrate... as in, the VO doesn't think you are a genuine student (same as point 1, just in different words)
4. Your limited travel history, limited family ties to Naija, and youth buttress the VO's suspicions about your intent.

All these show that in the eyes of the VO you did not sufficiently and convincingly demonstrate your purpose of visit. The burden of proof is solely on you. Even if you had the best documents but you didn't help the VO to make sense of them, then best believe the VO will not understand your story and may give you the dreaded "Purpose of Visit" checkmark.

Now that you have this very telling GCMS, you know what to do.

This is a typical case of human error. There was probably a mix-up somewhere. I hope this doesn't become an issue at POE later on. While u celebrate and thank God, the VO could lose his job here. So my guy,until u set ur feet on canadian soil before u can be rest assured..

Hello God is at work my sister got her visa today without medical mail, no upfront medical with virgin passport. The only mail gotten is ur document has been dispatched thinking she was denied but God did it am having hope on my God show ur self. Pls did it mean she will do medical when she get to canada.

But I'll like to contribute my 2 cent. I would advice your sister to do an upfront medical and have that in her hand luggage so as to avoid any any unforeseen circumstances arising at the POE with any Border Official as it is a standard protocol that must be duly met in regards to issuance of visa to applicants staying more than 6 months in Canada.

House Lo and Behold my medicals that was done on the 21st have not been sent by IOM they said they've been working on the samples that they had to send somewhere else for Good examination and they just don't send results they're not sure about because it might bounce back bad on the Applicant so they have to take time and work on it.. they said they will send today.'I Pray they do'I've been worried because there has been no progress in my App since I did the medicals.has anyone Experienced this or is this Normal thing IOM does??am just confused.cc:Sholay2011
